Nice setting, good food and wine. Friendly service. The menu is vegetarian friendly and they have some chilli available on request. Only issue for me is average tiramisu, and was hoping for better however members of my party returned to Varenna to have the tournedos Rossini again! (fillet steak)

La Vista is the gem of Varenna for hungry vegans. We enjoyed one of the best dinners of our trip - and it was quite a surprise because we didn’t think there were any restaurants here that were so vegan friendly. They literally have a “Vegan/Vegetarian Corner” page on their menu and there were 5 vegan options. My pasta and my wife’s seitan steak were absolutely delicious. I feel compelled to mention that the bread was so good: it had little pieces of red and green peppers and was a little spicy! We are only sad that we discovered this restaurant on our last night in Varenna…otherwise we would have eaten here every night! By the way, the view is excellent as well!

Wonderful restaurant in Varenna. Unbeatable view from the terrace right on the lake! Large menu with plenty of amazing dishes to choose from and the staff were great. The hotel/restaurant staff were particularly hospitable to us as they knew we were supposed to have our wedding dinner at their restaurant back in 2020, which of course was cancelled. I can't express how wonderfully they treated us when we arrived in 2021! Will return to this restaurant when I'm back at Lake Como.

We had lunch at La vista during our trip to lake como , last week of October 2023. The experience was delightful 🙂 The seating overlooking the lake is just beautiful. We tried sea bass and stuffed chicken. The staff are very polite and we're happy to assist us with suggestions. Reservations in advance could be a good idea since it's quite busy in tourist season. It's closed for off season holidays in November.

Food was amazing and delicious but the portion’s quite small for the price though. Service was great and the staff were attentive. The view while having dinner was breathtaking. Definitely great for romantic dinners.

La Vista restaurant is located on a terrace overlooking lake Como in the beautiful town of Varenna. One of the people in my group reserved a table here long in advance for dinner here so we could get close with a good view of the lake,so we thought. It turned out not as good as we thought, so recommended for dinner to reserve a spot well ahead of time. The service and food here is good though.

If you are staying multiple nights in Varena, then La Vista should be on your list as the view at sunset is unparalleled! Like most nice restaurants in Italy, make sure you have a reservation for dinner no matter what day of the week it is. The service here was slow and they seemed to continually assist other tables over our own. We sat with not even wine or bread for almost 30 minutes. The food was hit or miss for us. The risotto was by far the most tasty dish and all of us enjoyed the main courses; however, the desserts all fell short. The tiramisu was dry in the middle and the crème brûlée had split. All in all, we would still go back for the breathtaking view of Lake Como!

One of the only rooftop restaurants we could find in Varenna. While the atmosphere was beautiful overlooking Lake Como, the food came short. We weren’t impressed with the pastas, and we had ordered a bottle of hard cider that had gone bad. We did however enjoy the peaches and cream dessert. Lovely setting but the food was not great. The zucchini risotto was bland - inedible. The fish with gnocchi was also underwhelming. Overall a disappointing meal - and not cheap.

Pretty much paying for the view and rooftop alfresco dining vibe. The food was honestly disappointing. I got the salmon for 32 euros. ( had to top up 6 euro if u got the 3/4 course set, which you may just want to order ala carte because the set is the same price as ala carte) The salmon was recommended to me by the waitor but just tasted like regular smoked salmon.. Service was ok, but some of the waiters aren’t as friendly as others. Had trouble getting a confirmation for our reservation so they could not find us on the list, still gave us an outdoor table but one far back claiming that the other tables were reserved. ( Although when we left at 9pm, the nicer tables were still empty) Food took soo long to come. Got our appetisers at 8pm, and cleared it around 8.10pm. Only got our mains at about 8.45pm. 35minute wait for the food. We had to leave at 9pm because we had to make it for the last train. My bf actually asked them if they could make the dessert slightly special as it was a surprise for my birthday, they mentioned they would put some cream & cherries but there was none. simply just a candle. Had to takeaway the dessert as we had no time. They didn’t even have takeaway cutlery. Really wanted to like the restaurant but I just dont think its worth it for what ure paying.

The owner was rude and the menu is geared towards an American pallet. With creamy sauces Both of my parents were born in Italy and I speak well enough to get by . The owner decided to mock me and was not patient with my conversation. Most of the business owners and staff are always accepting and appreciate that you make an attempt. Every other meal we had in town was wonderful. This rude monster decided to ruin our meal If your hotel recommends this place , Do NoT go.
