My husband and I decided to try out this Thai restaurant for the first time, and wow, were we impressed! Without a doubt, this is the best Thai restaurant we’ve experienced in the area. The food was absolutely delicious, leaving us marking it as our new favorite spot. We're already making plans for our next visit! Not only was the food exceptional, but the customer service truly stood out. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-notch Thai cuisine and excellent service. Can't wait to come back!
My family loves this place. Curries are full flavored and noodles are always tasty. My mom lived in Thailand for 3 years and loves coming here. Best thai food around
Anything I crave Thai this is the place to go!!! The food is so delicious I always get the pad woon sen! The tom kha soup and fried rice! I always leave super full but it's the most delicious food ever 😋🥰 I also love that they offer a spice tray u can request 🥰 love coming here! I come at least once a month
My favorite Thai restaurant in Ventura. Delicious and consistently amazing food, wonderful service and orders are correct/efficient. The food is always fresh and had a good spice level. If you are in the area skip the others and head over to Sawasdee!
Been to Thailand four times with work and on vacation and this place has the best fried rice. I ve tried the fried rice at six other Thai restaurants and I always come back to this place. Khop Khun Maak Krap
Been eating here since it first opened. Diverse menu. Fresh food.
Wow, just wow. I was going to go to Dave's Hot Chicken and I'm GLAD I went here instead. Nothing wrong with Dave's, but Sawasdee was incredible. We had the Panang Curry, Thai Crab Omelet, and Thom Kha Soup. Every dish was so good. I can't wait to come back and try the other curries. Plus, the service was great! Fast and friendly, and the ambience is really cool as well. 10/10 would recommend!!
I’m so glad I found this place! There’s not that many Thai food places around Ventura. The food is always good, made fresh to order. The heat is very tolerable and can always be adjusted with their spice choices. The ambience is great. The prices are reasonable for the portions. The location is not the best. It’s in a sleepy part of town. That may be to my advantage so they don’t get too busy! I really want them to stay in business though, hence the 5-star!
Really good. Nice seating, great ambiance, clean, and great staff. A plus is the menu is available online. We arrived for lunch around twoish and started with the Chicken Satay appetizer. I had Panang Curry with beef and my friend had the Pad Thai with shrimp. We brought our own bottle of wine, and there is a very reasonable ten dollar corking fee, a whole lot less that many other restaurants. They had chilled glasses ready for our Gewürztraminer that paired very nicely with the entrees. Did not order desert. Overall Very good and definitely worth a return trip for another lunch or dinner.
The panang curry was fantastic. The sauce was just the right consistency, and the chicken was not left in huge chunks like many other thai restaurants. The rib eye curry my husband got was amazing, and I've never seen that offered anywhere. The food came out quickly. I highly recommend!
This location has been a Thai restaurant for quite a long time but it's under new ownership. Having her own Thai restaurant has been the dream of the woman who now owns it and it shows in the quality of the food she is serving and the atmosphere she created. Update 5/13/2023 Just had dinner there with six friends for my birthday and it was as good as ever.
Great food and service. I have never had a bad meal and my food is hot and ready within minutes of me ordering. The service here is amazing. They make sure my water cup isn't empty (unless I request no more water). They don't misplace my orders. They check up on me even at the end of the meal so I can get my check. This is my favorite local thai place for lunch. During the week, the lunch crowd is minimal and that is always a win.
This place is amazing! We went for dinner last night. The food is super authentic and the staff is so friendly. We definitely recement to try the chicken satay and mummy shrimp appetizers were absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back!🎉
I can't remember everything that we got, but my girlfriend and I spent $80 here and we're only able to eat about half of the food. The other half we took home. Everything was super delicious! This was the best service that I've gotten from a restaurant in probably 20 years. The server was very helpful, even boxed up our food for us. Top notch date night place!
Underrated in every way. Never a thing out of place on the plate. Repeatedly good. Never a bad experience.
Absolutely delicious! I ordered the basil curry noodles, crispy triangle, and mango sticky rice and it was perfect after being out hiking all day. To-go service was quick and friendly <3
Definitely a place to put on your lunch/dinner list. Went with family, 6 of us, and we loved our plates. Everything was flavorful and delicious, with plenty to feed us all. The service was amazing as well, the hostess was nice with the rest of the staff being just as friendly. Seating and plating was also fast. I really only have positive things to say of this place and will definitely recommend to others.
Tried this restaurant after searching for a good Thai place. Service was wonderful as well as their food selection. They have many choices for food and they can prepare your meal as requested.
Can’t go wrong with any of the dishes here, as everything was fresh & came out hot & tender. Bonus was that the food came out on unique plates. Got Spicy Fried Rice (Chicken; Added Pineapple; Level 3 Spice), Gyoza, & a Shirley Temple.
After years of dining here, we always find the food and service to be consistently great! We've experimented and nothing on the menu has been less than excellent (mind you... pay attention to the spice ratings!) We really enjoy the curry dishes and the mango chicken was an instant favorite. Dining room decor will keep your eyes wandering and the noise level never gets so loud as to be distracting or annoying. Always a delightful evening!!
Nice waitresses, wonton soup and egg rolls are amazing, but I personally wasn’t a fan of the Teriyaki flavor sauced chicken. Great quiet music atmosphere
This place really surprised me...in a good way! We ordered the spicy basil with chicken and spicy basil curry with rice noodles... gluten free. You never know what you'll get when you order Thai basil gluten free, but both dishes were delicious! Our food came fast. It was hot versus lukewarm...a huge pet peeve of mine! And it was so tasty! Nice ambience in the restaurant too. We'll definitely be back!
This is a great little Thai spot. Decor is very nice. Food was very delicious. We ordered chicken satay, chicken dumplings, Tom Kai seafood (lemongrass soup) pompano fish Thai tea and Cherry Coke.
Absolutly loved this place! Everything was delicious and the portions generous. The service is so thoughtful too. Make sure to end the meal with an order of fried bananas!
5 stars does not do justice of how AMAZING this place is. Its hard to find a really good Thai place with good quality and I have found that place! I have tried few of their dishes and they are all amazing!!! I tried their salmon Penang curry!!wow the taste was phenomenal!! it was spicy and I dont enjoy spicy but it was so good that even it being spicy didnt matter. Their Tom Kha soup with tofu was delicious!!! both musttttt try!! second time, I tried their chicken Penang curry and drunken noodles!! also amazing!! Service is great, very polite and quick. Didnt sit down at the restaurant but got it as a takeout!! will definitely return and recommend to all friends. My favorite Thai food!!
Love Sawasdee restaurants. Always trust worthy food i can bank on! Good yum food and taste and quantity. Worth the price paid! Lovely ambience too! You wont regret your choice go try it out...
Been here a few times and I've never had a complaint. This last time I was there I'm super happy about. The waitress was very friendly and took care of everything perfectly.

Celebrated an 80th birthday here last Saturday (late September 2025) with 10 friends and had a great time. Prompt, friendly service, excellent food and pretty much half the restaurant all ours as Sawasdee is divided into two large spaces—each side with plenty of tables—and smaller more intimate parties had the other side. (Clearly a much larger party than ours could have fit in our half.) We two out-of-towners had never been there before but the locals we knew had highly recommended Sawasdee and we have to agree with their assessment! We were treated very well. Highly recommend Sawasdee Thai Cuisine for a group celebration or a quiet private meal. I know only that they offered vegetarian and gluten-free options.
The Thai fried rice was so good. The portions were big but also didn’t make me feel sluggish at all afterwards, which is not the case with most restaurants serving fried rice dishes. Will absolutely come again
Just had an amazing meal here and everything was excellent! We ordered the chicken satay, beef with vegetables, and Tom Kha soup. The satay was perfectly grilled with that classic flavor, and the beef with vegetables was fresh and flavorful. The Tom Kha soup really stood out — creamy, balanced, and full of flavor while still being mild enough to enjoy every spoonful. Great portions, great taste, and overall a really satisfying dining experience. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!
Service was great considering there was only one waiter, but we were dining out on new years eve at 6pm. Food was great!
The food was amazing. It was the first time we ordered from there. We got 2 yellow curry’s and 2 red curry’s. Spicy but perfect spice. The only thing is I like a lot of potatoes & carrots in my yellow curry, so I always make extras to add. My whole family 10 of us really enjoyed.

The food was great and it is a place where you will go back to if ever you are craving for Thai Food again. The place looks and feels like authentic. The flavors of the food is authentic. I recommend their Iced Thai Coffee it will surely won't make you fall asleep! It was strong and the taste of it is powerful.
The first reason I like this place is that it's a really pretty restaurant it has art and pretty wallpaper. The servers are often dressed in what I perceive as a Thai outfit. I really like the food and the fact that the menu is so extensive. I always ask lot of questions and the servers have no problems with that. they are very patient and knowledgeable. And of course there's the food it's really wonderful! A a Friend and I went to a few nights ago and we both ordered half a duck. And the presentation alone was is very nice .the duck sat in a bed of all kinds of vegetables. We got some brown rice and some tea and when were stuffed when we left. I would highly recommend it. One of the reasons I really like it is that spicy items are labeled and they will make the food not spicy if that's what you want. And I can't eat spicy food. Hope everyone will give this restaurant a try!
Wife and I have gone to this restaurant every valentines day. Tonight was a great date night. At the door it does say masks required. Although I am lead to believe that it's an older sign.. just not changed . I still respected it regardless that we are fully vaccinated. As you walk into the door you simply can ring the bell to let staff know your waiting. We waited all but maybe a minute before being seated. Staff was friendly and greeted us kindly. We sat in a booth. Restaurant was clean and you can tell they definitely upkeep the place. Dishes ranging from 5.00 to 20.00 most are served for a portion of 2 people.. its a lot of food .. but I also like to take some home. With that being said you can easily rack up a larger dinner bill. Wife and I ordered tea's. She ordered the Thai tea (large) No refill on the specialty drinks but on the normal tea and soda yes. I just ordered regular unsweetened tea. We started are meal with some appetizers the Triangle Crisp's and the Freash rolls (shrimp) you won't be disappointed by the Freash rolls great peanut sauce and basil sauce. This is the largest rolls I have encountered. Really good . Refreshing. Tom yum Shrimp followed along with Combination fried rice . I added pineapple do delicious with it . We also ordered the Pork Pad Thai. Restaurant for the most part is very quiet and cozy you definitely will have an intimate setting. Nice place to take your date or tour spouse.
Had a great experience here even though I ordered it to go. The staff was friendly and the food is delicious. Ordered the Basil Fried Rice and the Triangle Crispy. My favorite is the Crispy Triangle. The Basil fried rice has good flavor. I will be back!
This place is turning into my go to spot in Ventura. Thier avacado green Curry blew my mind away. Flavors from lemongrass, thai basil, mixed with creaminess of the avacado and coconut milk, it was spectacular. And the green beans with it added a wonderful crunch. The pad thai, they made it vegan for me. It's my usual order. Red Curry is a family favorite. Unlike some places where they over do the coconut milk, this place does it right. It had the good balance. Additionally, my mother's favorite is the drunken noodles. Let's talk about appetizers: Tofu Satay is a must order. Tofu Spring roll has a fresh flavor tied to it. The staff is always nice. From us dining in, or ordering out, we never had an issue. (And we always customize our orders due to being a vegetarian and vegan household).

I come here randomly since we dont live in this area. I love their food and desert options. But i noticed a big change in their food. The plates are smaller now and you end up paying for a plate at a unreasonable cost. The pai tai has less chicken now and the cashew has less chicken as well. The sticky mango rice cost more now than before.
Tried their lunch menu. Would recommend regular menu if u didn't want the salad and egg roll. U might get more food if the salad did not fill up half of the plate. The thai tea was delicious. Highly don't recommend getting the "fresh" young coconut. Was not good, great disappointment.
I have eaten here many times and this will be the last time because your restaurant lied to us, I wanted to order a portion of tomyum soup and the waiter asked me if I wanted hot pot or a bowl and I said I wanted the bowl because the hotpot was so big that 2 people couldn't eat it all, and I talked to my husband and he asked the waiter what size to order while I was busy looking at other dishes on the menu and when they brought out 1 The hot pot was really big so I said I didn't order hot pot but they said my husband ordered it and I asked him and he said he didn't know he just ordered enough food for 2 people, I was very unhappy. I'm sorry that you guys treat your customers so dishonestly. The price is not important to me. What's important is that I know the two of us don't eat much, so I just want to order enough for the two of us to eat. I want to tell you not to deceive customers like that just because you want to make a few extra bucks.
I’ve been coming here for so long now and I’ve never had this happen to me or my brother. The server basically called us fat we were taken to a half table and booth and asked if we can be moved to a booth she stated that it will be to small and we would be uncomfortable and she can move us to a bigger booth but need to hurry up and eat cause a reservation is coming in 45mins. I understand her concern cause me and my brother are heavy set but let us decide for ourselves and when we asked to try that booth we fit comfortable but I was already uncomfortable at that point. My only advice is don’t do that to someone it ruins their self esteem. The food is amazing but today unfortunately we had to walk away.
