The food is impressive. The "Daily Specials" have all been really good. Each has been a really pleasant surprise. They do some magic in that little kitchen and each time I have left with a happy belly.

Rustic old timey cafe that will take you back to the 30's. Not only was the staff friendly, BUT the partons were engaging as well. At the end of our delicious meal, we were sharing pictures, telling jokes laughing. Food was fresh, large amounts, tasted great...what more do you want?!! I recommend the hamburger & onion rings.

If your looking for old time BBQ pit cooking this is the place. Awesome brisket, sausage, beans, potato salad. Lime I said old school place does not look like much but if your around welder texas stop in. They start serving BBQ at 11 am Monday thur Friday until gone so get there early. 😋

Stopped here to see what all the fuss was about and after seeing the portion size and how it was cooked was not let down .

We stopped here randomly on our way to Houston, and am so glad we did. It's a hidden gem to be sure. We had the combo plate, which included brisket and a sausage right of the open smoke pit, beans, and potato salad. Seriously so so delicious and so much food! Don't hesitate to get off the beaten path and eat at this little place. I'd recommend the food here to anyone! Thank you!

I am always searching for the perfect bbq sauce. I think I found it!!! Barbecue is outstanding. Actually everything they have is great!!

Excellent breakfast tacos, super affordable, super friendly! I had no idea there was a small cafe in the back of this neighborhood market, but they do breakfast and lunch and have a nice little seating area. Great selection of snacks and beverages in the shop area, of course. Will definitely come back again for tacos and will have to come back and try their lunch and their BBQ.

Some of the best authentic barbecue around. Such a welcoming atmosphere makes you feel right at home. As soon as that barbecue grazes your mouth it just melts. I will be placed in order from houston soon.

This place was like a rainbow with a pot of gold BBQ at the end. We stopped here for lunch after a long drive and it did not disappoint. Great food & service.

I always stop here on my way back into San Anto. This place is just the greatest. I enjoyed everything here. But my personal is the links. Slice if bread a bead of mustard and a Big Red. I'm a happy Texan.

They stay open late. The staff is always friendly. Get there early for some wonderful food.

GET OFF THE INTERSTATE NOW! This place is legit! The smoked pork steak was AMAZING, and the beans are a like ranch type, great gravy. I’ve also had the made in-house sausage, chicken, and brisket.

Hidden gem. BBQ. Please go here for BBQ. Do yourself a favor. This place hit the spot. Really enjoyed stopping here. The BBQ cook pit is at the back of the convenience store. We had the brisket and combo (brisket +sausage) plates. Today’s sides were beans and potato salad. The beans very good. Heart and soul went into them. Potato salad was delish and we took the leftovers with us (only leftovers we had…). Next time will have to try the pork ribs or chicken.

I live for places like this. Small place in the back of an old store. Perfect pork steak today, ribs were also top-notch. Sausage is good too, with a nice snappy skin and mealy grind. Brisket is exactly what I expected from this kind of pit. Good, but not great. I would still be very happy to eat it again though.

We've been coming here for 40 years, it's part of our trip itinerary every time we go to San Antonio to see family. This BBQ is so good that it alone is worth the trip for the day!

Literally the best ribs and brisket I have ever had. We were hungry for some barbecue after leaving New Braunfels. This placed looked good so we went inside. The barbecue restaurant is in the back of the store. The smoker room is very nice and it smells good. Prices were cheap and the brisket was so juicy and tender. The ribs were very well seasoned. Super juicy and fall off the bone. The barbecue sauce was salty and a little spicy which I love. Very good. I will literally drive from Houston to here just to have this barbecue again.

A true hole in the wall place. Lovely ladies working the place we're prompt, quick and experienced. Even though JBarB Foods was on their lunch (so the rush was crazy), everyone was served promptly and in a timely manner. Food was amazing. Grilled onions on a bacon burger? Yes please!

This is literally THE BEST BURGER we've ever had! We were driving home to Houston from San Marcos, and I found this place online. We pulled off of I-10 to stop for lunch. It was 6 minutes from our exit. We walked in and first asked about a back patio, because we had our puppy in the car. They allowed us to bring her in :) W walked to the back where there was a huge BBQ pit, but our kids wanted burgers. So they fired up the grill and made our family of 4 these burgers and a huge basket of fries to share. First, the burgers were HUGE, and super juicy. My kids generally don't like when we go somewhere they haven't eaten, but both of my boys said "This is the best burger over ever had!" while we were eating. It was so yummy and the family that runs the restaraunt was so friendly and welcoming. 5 stars Would recommend! We'll be coming back the next time we are driving through!

The food in the back is literally so amazing. The burgers were cooked to order and were huge. The seasoned fries and onion rings were the best.

Accidentally stumbled upon this place while driving to Houston. You walk in and it's a country store and in the back are two restaurants. One is a Burger place and the other one is the pit! You walk past the door and you are literally in the pit room it smells amazing. Great service!

This was the only place in this town to eat that we were able to find. It was ok. The barbecue wasn't bad but they were out of potato salad at lunch time and it didn't seem like they were over run though maybe we missed the rush. Not sure.

The brisket melts in your mouth! The rings of sausage are beyond wonderful. The ribs were not our favorite as they were dry and tough. Service was GREAT EXCEPT not one staff member had masks on. There is a sign on the door and customers wore masks but none of the employees. A staff member was also eating at checkout. This would have been a five if I had felt safe while being there with my sister who had a quadruple bypass.

Tried getting some sausage that the boyfriend has loved since he was a kid. Restaurant was closed so had to get some frozen one. But he was disappointed 😢 it didn't taste the same. Hopefully next time we go to Texas we can get some fresh sausage lol. But the young man that was their was very helpful.

When I went here to get lunch for my coworker and myself this place was so run down, nobody greeted me when I came in. They just stared at me like I didn’t belong there. When I paid I left a tip that they didn’t even deserve, and didn’t even get a thank you. Then of course, the food was just meh.

This was my taco the other day I got some for my sister,dad &myself & we were all so upset they were dry & tasted like it was cooked the day b4 & lefted out..

Poop on women's bathroom floor and sewage water in hallway. When asked, "Do you have a menu?" Staff replied "no" and walked away. We declined to eat anything at this establishment.

Hidden gem?? Not sure about that, I was served 3 slices of brisket fat and a scoop of dusty ole beans. Waste of $$$
