Server kept drinks full. Waited 30 mintues for food. Wild Mushroom Soup was exquisite. Tomhawk steak delectable.

We ate here for a celebration dinner and it was absolutely amazing! Our server Aaron was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and also very friendly and attentive. There was quite a large menu selection, we had the ravioli Bolognese and the Sirloin 31 steak with sides and everything was delicious. You do have to make reservations here.

One of my favorite dinners. Great service, exceptional food, nice atmosphere. You wouldn’t even know u were inside a casino. For our appetizer we had the Arancini, which was the best I have ever had. The 16 oz Ribeye steak and petite fillet were cooked to perfection. Definitely will return

Awesome dinner. Had New York strip and shrimp special. Came with green beans and mashed potatoes, loaf of bread... all were delicious. Steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Holli are server was 5 star, friendly and took great care of us!

Had our anniversary dinner here. It is located in the casino so make sure you’re aware of that. The food was great! Husband had the wagyu steak and it was delicious! The service was fast and friendly!

Excellent service. Excellent food. We ate here 2 nights and ate so much food. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, prepared perfectly and beautiful.

My wife and I were very happy with the food, service, and drinks here. The bourbon selection is obviously awesome and to echo the other reviews, yes it is pricy but for an occasion, completely worth it.

This place has the best food! I had the filet mignon dinner and crab cake appetizer. The crab cakes were amazing. I didn’t love the sauce but I got it on the side so it was fine. The dinner salad was very good. The filet was done very well and I loved the green beans! My husband had the prime rib and Asian kabobs and he loved them both. We will definitely go again. The service was wonderful as well.

To the manger the gentleman that wears earrings you are the best manger that I have seen at a restaurant in a very long time your attention to detail and the way you treat people is so refreshing to see my wife and I watched you for over an hour and a half thank you for finding us a table even though we did not have reservations thank you very much we had a wonderful night and our dinner was amazing

Went for dinner last night after a long day golfing. Absolute perfect food, perfect service and great atmosphere. Our server was Claire, She's waited on us before, she makes the experience fantastic. If I could give Claire 10 stars, I would... She's so friendly and personable and makes you feel very welcome. Great job, we'll be back!

We dined at Burbon early Friday evening and were very impressed starting with being seated immediately to our server Aaron, who was extremely kind and delivered outstanding service. We had the filet that was delicious and perfectly cooked as well as the half rack of ribs and fries. We had the french onion soup for an appetizer and it was yummy. Really outstanding meal all the way around!

We were skeptical that this tiny casino in northern Michigan would be a to satiate our desire for a delicious dinner, but this place did not disappoint! The menu was thorough yet not overwhelming; the bleu cheese dressing on my salad was unique and scrumptious; the prime rib was spot-on and the baked potato cooked perfectly! You’re obviously dining in a casino so the ambience is a little loud, and we weren’t crazy about the smoked butter served with the roll, but otherwise we really enjoyed our evening here!

Update 1/1/26: Our dinner on new years day was excellent! Our favorite waiter Braden was not in, but Colin was amazing & is now added to our favorites! He took our large order of Appetizers, salads, bread, steaks, seafood, sides, desserts and coctails & timed everything like a coursed dinner experience. His enthusiasm, timing and service was exceptional! Coctails were excellent, food was fresh & delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better dining experience thanks to Colin, you are amazing! We told you that you are now on our roster when when come into town to dine at bourbons 72 & we look forward to seeing you again. You created the perfect night out! Thank you! 7-17-25: Our dinner experience last night was wonderful. The special appetizer of waygu steak was delicious! We ordered lots of small bites to share, including Mushroom soup, traverse salad, crusted walleye, yorkshire pudding and the waygu special. The chocolate mousse at the end of night was light and fresh with the orange added. Our server was Braden and he was excellent! We've dined at bourbon's 72 several times in the past and it was never as good as last night. The food and service was exceptional. Thank you Braden for a great experience. The best yet.

Absolutely delicious. Tucked away in the casino is this gem. Its quiet and relaxing. Unfortunately they dont offer much for draft beer, (only had one) but that's not a deal breaker Your going to pay a pretty penny, but it's definitely worth it. Chef soup was phenomenal, the steak was cooked perfect and full of flavor. Only real complaint was the baked potatoe, definitely should upgrade to the mashed!

Very expensive, but very good. The Parmesan crust was better than I typically have. Good about allergies.

Nice atmosphere, good costumers services, delicious calamari, and the chef soup was expectacular, I order bison and my husband king crab legs the bison was perfect we love it, crab leg was ok, I mean $127 just for legs and no side 😏 but we enjoyed our date, I really recommend the calamari and the bison.

This place has excellent service! Our server was very friendly and considerate of my wife's dairy allergies. It's definitely overpriced as are most restaurants nowadays. They should lower their prices by 15-18% and up the portion sizes. All in all this place is a 3.6 out of 5.

Great service. My water was never empty. The raclette arancini was super good and seasoned well. My steak was perfectly cooked and was hot. The prosciutto wrapped asparagus wasn’t my favorite. My father didn’t like his ribs with blueberry arugula salad. Mother’s petite was perfectly cooked and my brother loved the pasta. B+

When I was here a year or so ago, it was good, thoroughly enjoyed it then. This time... meh. Nathan was great though - friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The food though was average. Asian kabobs, a bit bland and overcooked; crab cake, um, just okay and would be better with a remoulade or aioli (unless they forgot it on ours), and they were very small; calamari, chewy and they should serve with a spoon or something as the sauce is at the bottom but I can get over that... it was just too chewy; fries or frites were good but again the steak on top was overcooked (or maybe everyone prefers really well done here hmmmm). The shrimp cocktail was good, and I liked that they included a dollop of horseradish on the sauce as an option. Other that that, the atmosphere was pretty dull. Lots of space, but no energy, nothing on the walls, nothing on any surfaces so maybe they were going for a clean aesthetic but seemed a bit empty feeling because of it. No vibe at all. In any case, good service and food looked pretty at least. Overall was a bit average though.

Went here for our 15yr anniversary. Service was excellent, however the prices on the bill didn’t match the prices on the menu. I was charged $3 extra for my bourbon (menu said $12 but was charged $15) and the menu said “add a salad for $5 but was charged $6. The steak was great and my wife’s tortellini was great but we think we got food poisoning from the salad, we both threw up 2hrs after eating. No matter how good a place is I never go back if I get sick the 1st time! This ruined our romantic 15yr anniversary, and with the weak pours of whisky (soooo small) I’ll never go back

H
Hanna Pritchard

The service was very slow even for a Friday night. We had a party of 10 and there was not a single thing that was smooth. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, and they charged 5 extra dollars to ha e it blackened!? That seems very excessive for some seasoning. Working in the service industry and seeing this type of service was embarrassing.

Food was delicious. Not sure what happened on our visit but service started out great and then went downhill very fast. Took just a long (45mins) to get our check and cash out as the whole rest of the meal took. Waitress asked if we wanted or check, 25mins later the manager brought our check and another 20mins later they picked it up from our table. They weren't overly busy at the time either. Just felt very forgotten about and not even a "sorry about the wait"

Came in for our 9 year anniversary. Well the food was pretty darn good, can't complain there. We went to a server we have had several times over the years. We come a few times a year... to occasionally celebrate what needs be... We are older than dirt, but we were id-ed, I think just so he could figure out our names. But after a bottle of wine, mind you on at least a 5 course meal, they wouldn't serve us more alcohol. After that the service took a huge dive. I would say we won't be returning. Also, they've remodeled again. Nothing great. Also they took the waygu off the menu, for those who may be looking.

Our dining experience at this restaurant has been average. They were short staffed on the night that we visited, and sadly no one was able to cover appetizers or make the hamburger on the menu. My husband thought his ribs were very salty, and I didn't really care for the French onion soup with the puff pastry dome. The salad had a strong taste, like it hadn't been thoroughly washed. The restaurant is clean, and I do appreciate masking from the waitstaff. Rachael has been my best server. Service can be really slow, but I think it is probably due to scheduling too many reservations for too few servers. The cheesecake was tasty.

P
Pam Bowerman

The criticism I have is with the food. Disappointing! I had chicken masala. The smallest piece of chicken. The masala sauce was just a small amount of brown gravy and a few mushrooms. My husband had crusted walleye which featured only 1 small filet. We feel your standards have gone down hill. We used to enjoy your food and felt it was worth the price. Not anymore!

N
Nickie Clark

The wait time was horrendous. There were very few people in the restaurant and still could not get seated. Then our food took forever. The prime rib tasted good but the cut was thin and overpriced. I will not eat here again 😞

A
Alex Morrison

Service was great! steak was mediocre for the price, dry and chewy, manager was no help

T
Tom Nathan

Really has gone downhill! Presentation is nothing! The ribeye steaks are not of a good quality and for 68.00 one would expect more. Service is still top notch however especially Claire. They constantly are switching up the menu and even taking off popular items !

I wanted to give a 2.5, but that rating is not available....we went for our 10th anniversary. We dined at 5:30 on 5/18---a Saturday evening. It pains me to leave this low rating; most of my restaurant ratings are 4.0 and above..... We were told it was not that great, but we wanted to try for ourselves. Welp, IT'S NOT THAT GREAT! We literally had an Applebee's meal on fancy plates. $69 for a SMALL ribeye with no taste and full of grizzle. 3, count them THREE sprigs of asparagus and a dollop of potatoes. The house salad that came with the meal was a bowl of wilted field greens. My husband had the "traditional cut" (larger cut, according to the menu) prime rib. It was so small and tasteless. He got 4 slivers, and I do mean SLIVERS of raw carrots. Not al dente--RAW and 4, exactly 4 green beans. The only good part of the meal was the $7 small boat of mushrooms. The wine was very good and the $20 Manhattan from the bar was wonderful. Then on to dessert.....it was GOD AWFUL. Tasted like it came straight off the US Foods truck. Dry and tasteless. The dessert LOOKED wonderful on the cart, but looks were very deceiving. (see photo) Carrot cake was absolutely tasteless and like a pound cake. The key lime pie tasted like it came for the frozen food section at your local grocery store. As we waited for the check, we could clearly hear a waitress talking to a hostess about the crap tip she got and bad-mouthing the patrons. Low class staff in upscale black and white clothing. The waiter was hovering and kept calling us "ladies and gentlemen"....annoying." How was your first course ladies and gentlemen?" Huh? It was embarrassing for him. Other patrons were laughing. This, at a "fine" steakhouse.....There were only 2 of us; stop yelling ladies and gentlemen every time you approach the table. He was very loud. The entire place heard all of our business, including the AMOUNT OF OUR CHECK. Why, oh why did he have to shout "the original amount of our check was $245, but with our casino discount, it came to only $135"?!? To make sure we understood how to tip, that's why. We will never go back and will tell everyone that asks that the place sucks. Again, an Applebee's meal at Morton Steak House prices. Low class staff in high class clothing. Terrible experience. We did not tell the waiter or Hostess how bad it was. We simply stated, "it was ok, but we won't be back" when we left. Not one question as to why we had that opinion.....they don't care. Just enjoy your Big Boy's steak and give us your money.....the place barely had 3 tables the entire time we were there on a Saturday night at 5:30. That should tell you something, I guess. We would have gladly paid $40 for this couple's meal at an Applebee's or Chili's. Expectations were definitely busted at this place. Awful......do not eat here unless you have money to just throw at the wind. Your guests will be disappointed and you will be embarrassed.

Was hyped up & ready to go to this place after looking at other reviews. We left extremely dissatisfied. Thought the atmosphere was nice, however the food was below average. Ordered their signature bourbons 72 steak medium and it came gray and basically rare. Sent it back and it came back looking more gray. No seasoning used on their vegetables, or on the steak even though it stated specific seasonings. Was given a salmon pâté on a spoon; wasn’t offered, just given. Their beef curry, butternut squash soup was OK. But basically the start of our vacation was ruined with this dinner & we will not return.

Our server was nice, but unfortunately, the other negative reviews tied to the bartending are 100% true. Overpriced and disconnected on true customer service.

R
Ron Rogers

Overall service was terrible. Asked before hand how long to-go orders would take. They said 30 minutes. I didn’t get my food for an hour. Every time I asked they said a few more minutes. No drinks or other service offered while I sat at a table the entire time. No rice with my order after all of the wait. $20 tip and nothing to show for it. I called and said my peace with the girl who took my order originally. She paused for at least 10-15 seconds before she could figure out what to say. $300 on a hotel room. $150 plus tip on a meal. Zero service and zero people who cared.

T
Tammy Curtis

We waited over an hour for our dinner, the staff never acknowledged that it took a ridiculous amount of time, the waitress never returned to ask if we wanted any drinks and when we went to the bar, the bartender took the order then left to wait in others and clean tables. The bartender was also rude. Out at the tables, the waitress was incompetent couldn’t remember the order.

I feel tricked that this restaurant has such good reviews on Google. We were vacationing in traverse city and decided to do some gambling and try this restaurant. The food was… horrible. It all tasted frozen, not fresh. And the service was terrible. The waiter asked my wife how her meal was since she hadn’t eaten hardly any of it and when she told him it was not good - his response was “oh, ok” and walked away. Not… hey, let me credit that. Or can I get you something else? Just.. “oh, ok” Oh, ok. We would never go back.

R

Unbelievably disappointing! First time trying the “UPSCALE” fine dining with Bourbon72. The food was cold and underprepared. The prime rib raw we asked for medium temperature. When we complained the waitress told us that she could warm it up! What!!! A fine dining restaurant doesn’t warm up poorly prepared steak they prepare another. We were never offered a reduction in our bill, dessert, etc to make up for the lack luster experience. Waitress stated the manager said we can’t accommodate your poor food experience because we could have simply warmed your food. Then got the bill and was overcharged and then charged for a tea that we never asked for .. Never again

Was there for a birthday party Saturday may 3rd for dinner. Service extremely slow, waited almost 30 minutes for overly priced water down drinks. Then our food order was taken and it literally took 90 minutes to get our food. Order the chef special Cajun steak pasta, the pasta had no taste and the steak was overcooked and was like eating Jerky. And come to find out in our party or 12 people over half of the people got their order wrong or mixed up. The server was very nice but the overall service, food and drinks were terrible. Overall we were there for almost 3 to 4 hours and it shouldn't have taken that long for the overall experience. Also according to some of the people in our group some had stomach issues possibly due to the dinner we all ate.

T
Tim Oberg

We made reservations for 12 to celebrate a 40th birthday with fine dining and well made drinks. Much to our surprise, the absolute worst old fashion made the same way for 3 different people. Then we ordered; with these prices you would expect your meal to be done the way it was ordered with the correct sides and crunchy asparagus. But Nooo not here. Asparagus was mush, steak was over cooked and sides were mixed between plates. As our table was playing is this my plate or yours? I spoke with the manager, Dakota. He offered free desert to the birthday girl, and nothing for the other diners. Even though it took 2 hrs to get our meals. 4 hours to eat dinner and Some had to be remade because it was so badly cooked. Then next day everyone who ate steak was sick! Stomachache, cramps, nauseousness. Ruined our wine tour, and the rest of the weekend. 300.00 per couple is just ridiculous for this type of service and management. After discussing with Dakota his reply was to take it out of the servers gratuity instead of comping anything. Not to mention the piss pour drinks. Thanks to poor management these gals will never be back. Which is the real shame since they go to TC all the time for wine tours and get toghethers.

⭐☆☆☆☆ We’ve been loyal customers of Bourbon 72 for years—usually dining there 3–4 times a month—and it’s always been one of our favorite spots. I’ve ordered the beef stroganoff over 10 times and have always enjoyed it, but our most recent visit was very disappointing and concerning. The stroganoff came out completely different—no cream sauce, strange texture, and just not right. I only got a few bites in before I had to stop. My wife had the French onion soup, which had a sour or spoiled smell that we couldn’t place until it became clear it was the soup itself. We spoke with the manager, and to their credit, they comped the items. However, shortly after we got home, we both felt unwell and were sick for the rest of the night. We don’t take writing reviews like this lightly, but something was clearly off, and I hope it was just a one-time issue. Still, the experience shook our confidence in a place we’ve always trusted for quality and consistency.

Our server took our order, then came back and told us that they didn't have the appetizer that we ordered with our meal. We ordered another one. Then he came back and told us that he only had a "butt" of prime rib left. We ordered the "date night meal for two". No substitutions were offered. I told the server that I'd like to speak to the manager. The manager walked by our table numerous times and never stopped by. We were the only ones left in the restaurant and they were closing down the restaurant and they brought the check. We expected at least a comp for not getting the meals we ordered. Didn't happen. Also, my husband ordered an Old Fashioned which was $20. It was an 8 oz. glass half full of crushed ice and the entire drink still didn't fill the glass. DO NOT EAT HERE, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AND YHEY ARE SO OVER-PRICED. A MEAL FOR TWO WITH 1 DRINK COST US $112. THE MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED FOR IGNORING US WHEN WE HAD A VALID CONCERN.

Despite all of the recent negative reviews, we thought we would give this place a try. We were greeted by a snobby employee at the hostess stand who stated that without a reservation they had no available seating. I questioned the many open tables in the dining area, at which point the employee stated they either didn't have enough staff to serve that area, or would soon be filled by other reservations. That's fine, no problem. But then as we walked away, she rudley announced over the loud speaker in the casino to not come to the restaurant if you did not have a reservation. We are multi-year players club members and during a 3 night hotel stay, we are now on our way to spend our money at another restaurant in downtown Traverse City. Good luck!

So, I do not usually call a specific person/server out on social media unless they are just so horrible it warrants it. We went to this restaurant over the weekend for a special Sunday night birthday dinner. Made reservations and all. 12 people. Right from the beginning as we sat down our server, Sara was so rude, just the look on her face it was obvious she did not want to be there and take care of us. It just went down hill from there. I will say the food was good. Very expensive but we knew that going into it. It was a 1300 tab, and Sara received over 200 for this as they added in the gratuity. She absolutely did not deserve this as she was NEVER nice to us the whole night. We all tried to make conversation with her, make niceties, etc and she was having none of it. We really should have just got up and walked out. But we didn't. We all feel she is/was allowed to act this way because she knew the gratuity was included. I will say this, we will not ever be going back and we do not recommend this place.

Awful restaurant inside Turtle Creek Restaurant. The food is cold. Ordered Brussel Sprouts and let the server know they were cold. They were replaced with more cold sprouts! Heard another server tell the table about the nightly special. We we not informed. Water glasses never refilled. When I pay those prices, I expect better food and service. Do not waste your time here.

A

We were in Traverse city for a family vacation and went to Bourbons 72 for a a birthday dinner and a little of gambling. Spent about $400+ for our dinner. Our server was Sarah and I'm afraid she was either having a bad day or she's just not a happy person (no smile, no proper greeting, mediocre service), something I wouldn't expect from a restaurant with such high prices, especially when you go there for a special occasion. Food was just ok. My soup was so salty, I had to chase every spoon with a sip of water, I ended up sending it back. Beef stroganoff dish was bland and lucking flavor, I did not send it back though. Later on that evening we were told by the casino's front desk that everyone who had a birthday that month (July) were entitled to a free desert at Bourbons 72 and discounted drinks through out the casino. I went back to the restaurant and spoke with manager on duty - Corey. I told him about the free desserts we didn't get at the dinner. Corey was useless and failed to address the issue because the check was closed. I'd like to point out that any POS systems nowadays have an option to refund/partially refund a transaction and to charge it again if needed. I guess Corey cared less since it was the end of his shift that night. Furthermore our server Sarah was indeed informed by one of the family members that we had a birthday person at the table. She totally ignored it. We had three people at the table with birthdays that month. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone based on our experience. We will never be back to Bourbons 72!

They need to work out their service issues. Turning customers away because of their own staffing issues at a casino, no less, seems a bit ridiculous. Food can be good but some of the rudest, laziest staff in Traverse. Same exact issues a year ago here. Don’t bother going, they won’t be able to accommodate you.

t

My wife and I have been going for about a decade. I brought my 2 sons yesterday and it was the worst experience I've ever had. The quality started going down 2 years ago but this was just ridiculous. It took nearly an hour for the food to be delivered. When it did come to the table, everything was stone cold. I was told by a member of the waistaff, that the manager was upset because I had said it was ordered nearly an hour ago. His contention was it had only been ordered 48 minutes prior. Bland, cold food. Animosity from the manager. Our waiter was great but the manager made us feel demeaned. An hour for sub-par food compared to prior years when there was only 5 other tables is just sad. Do better. $242 for our cold meals. Nothing was even warm. Again, do better or we won't be back.

D
Dennis Chester

The highlights of our dinner was the bread service and our server Colin. It's really not his fault that the food is super sub par. I really expected more for $150 (for 2 people). Colin is doing a great job, he deserves to work somewhere where the food quality matches his great attitude!

If you enjoy a 3 hour dining experience when you only ordered entrees this is your spot. If you expect anything to be done by management for a poor experience you will be mistaken. If you been waiting to pay your bill for 20min they will call security lol. 8 guys show up to eat and gamble after day of golf no reservation. 5 tables in restaurant besides our group maybe 20 guest total including us. We order drinks that take 15 minutes to arrive kinda long but no biggie in this wait they don’t take our order. Drinks are delivered and we are ready to put our food in. After 25 min I ask the manager if our food will be up soon he says yes after 35 min I explain this is getting tough since we didn’t order salad or soup or apps. He replies that it takes 30 minutes to cook a ribeye medium lol maybe they cook them in the oven but it should be 10 minutes on grill I would have said 8 but they were thicker cut. After 45 min I tell the manager if he can do 30 percent off our bill will be good or send a bunch of extra sides out he goes I can do dessert what a joke. I ask to speak to the host while we still have not got food. After a hour our food arrives and so does the host. He says he can do 15 percent and dessert still no great but it is what it is. Says he will send server over to get us desserts. We never see the server he does not get desserts and we ask for our bills. This turns into them calling security on us while we wait another 20-30 minutes for our check. It was insane. No wonder place was less than half full on a Friday night. Manager was a joke host seemed professional enough but not aware of how restaurants should operate. 5 of us left and chose not to gamble which they would of made the extra 15 percent back on us plus more it was only about 115 $ to make things right on our 800$ tab. Out of the 24 guys on our annual trip I can guarantee we will never be back bringing poker chips from now on and staying away from this casino

Use to be a great restaurant! Now bad! Cut out taste tester, bread, crab cakes , small menu, drinks expensive Also used to have cream spinach , salmon, chicken! Crab cakes were the best! We will not go there again until they get their menu back! We went there a lot
