I absolutely love this little spot. It’s right in the neighborhood, the service is good, the food is always fresh and the sushi is delish! The ONLY thing I’d say, is maybe they can consider better containers. I picked up an order of Shumai but they all stuck to the paper container and ripped the dumplings apart and adding a doily to the container, doesn’t help as it does the same exact thing. Otherwise, i can’t say anything negative about this place. And yes, I still ate the Shumai lol!

Lived in Woodhaven for 17 plus years. Came back for the holidays to visit my parents and walked passed this restaurant. My husband and I just had to try it. It was great! Sushi was really good and the chicken teriyaki was good as well. I will definitely come here again and bring my friends.

I usually get take-out but I was able to eat in the cozy dining room this time. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food prepared just the way you like it.

I never ever leave food reviews, but this place really compelled me to leave a positive review. This place was absolutely amazing, I had called for delivery, and the person behind the line was a sweetheart, very kind, and patient! For the first time I had sushi, they complied with all my requests, and the food came greatly packaged and cooked! The food was the best! If you have any doubts about this place, drop them!

This is my favorite sushi spot in the area-I’ve gone as far as 5 miles out in any direction and others can’t compare. Food is always fresh, and their seasoning is right on! Love their Chicken Katsu, and as picky as I am about my rolls- they always get my order exactly how I like it. They care and it shows. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really like this restaurant! It's always clean, with delicious food, and excellent customer service. One day, my stomach wouldn't let me stop thinking about noodles, and I wound up being their first customer of the day. But, the staff took it in stride and were so kind and patient with me. That day, I ordered the yaki udon with shrimp, and it is now my favorite dish that I've ordered so far from U-Me Sushi. If you are in the area, please try this local gem!

Friendly,, comfortable, cozy and tasty. The Sushi Sashimi Combo was a good size with some nice surprises on it. I will be back for sure. And the BYOB with a liquor store next door saves you a bunch!

The vegetable sushi platter was delicious! The sweet radish in the remix roll made it really good. I personally did not like the sweet radish as a vegetable roll (just the sweet radish on a nugget of white sushi rice wrapped in seaweed) and thought it was too sweet and overpowering on its own. The other vegetable rolls (one had avocado and the other had cucumber) were very good, especially dipped in some soy sauce. There was no meat/fish in the vegetable sushi platter and therefore it is a vegetarian option. I would eat here again. The side salad and side soup that come with the vegetable sushi platter were also good, the salad was better than the soup in my opinion. My family and I ordered quite a lot of food from here through delivery and it all came packaged so nicely in a reused cardboard box...from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!! I love to see small sustainable acts such as that even though it is so small. I applaud the thought to even do that and that definitely makes me want to support this business more:) If you are a vegetarian, you can still enjoy their food with the vegetable sushi platter and even if you are not a veg or vegan, if you try it out you might really like this simple yet super tasty platter!

I love going here for takeout food. It's usually great and at worst good, if you don't like the choices YOU made. The service is great. Everything is tasty 😋 as long as you are connected to your palate... always a good choice.

I consider this establishment to be a true gem, only found in the neighborhood of Woodhaven, Queens . Not only is the food of superb quality, the atmosphere and service are top notch. Whether you enjoy sushi, teriyaki, or noodles; U-Me Sushi has you covered with a variety of authentic Japanese dishes. Give them a try if you ever find yourself on Jamaica Avenue and 85th Street, I highly recommend it.

I order from here for the first time on DoorDash last night. I was soo impressed by the freshness of the food : I ordered volcano sushi rolls, hibachi fried rice and noodles. I frequently go to great hibachi restaurant several times a month. And I was extremely impressed !!!! I will definitely order from here , primarily as I love hibachi but don’t always want the show!

I was in the mood for sushi and after checking this place and another down he road, I decided on this place. The food was sooooo good. And not because I was hungry. But it was really fresh. Delivery was within reasonable time and I will be ordering from here again. Will try something new.

Easy to order from this restaurant. My order was perfectly correct! I even received a free special sushi roll. I loved all the rolls I ordered and the soup is top notch out of any other place I have been in a south queens. I wish the place was closer to where I live, but I will definitely be going back!

My go to for sushi. Their customer service is top tier! One time there was a road block and the worker came out by Woodhaven blvd to deliver my food in traffic. I appreciated the effort so much. Their delivery option is very affordable as well.

My family and I have strictly bought sushi at this place for roughly 8 years now and I’ve only gotten the urge to review this restaurant after I managed to hook my boyfriend onto the Pink Lady Roll and Godzilla roll. They have a promo any 3 rolls for $16.50 :) I was able to get my takeout within 10 of ordering. Great service too. Highly recommend this little gem!

I'd heard that the owners for this restaurant have changed so I went to try it out after not having eaten here for a few years. I love how the new owners have changed up the menu, the amount of choices and quality of the food has improved. The food is so good for its price. The person who picked up the phone was also so kind and patient. I had a big order for Mother's Day and I was surprised with a few extra goodies (a free golden california roll, crackers, and some candies). My favorites definitely included the Yummy Yummy Roll, Fuji Roll, and the Dragon Roll. I will definitely be coming back!!

Me and my family went here for Christmas Day dinner and it was amazing! The fish was fresh and the the appetizers were delicious! My husbands favorite was the spicy tuna rice cake. I loved the signature roll our waitress recommended, it was the kaiju roll, absolutely delicious! Oh and it’s also BYOB! and conveniently there is a liquor store right next door with some pretty tasty sakes. Overall I definitely recommend this place!

Came here on a whim becuase my husband I were craving sushi. We drove past it on our way home and were always curious and picky when it comes to sushi. The food and desert was fresh, delicious and filling! Vivian was such an amazing waitress, super attentive and super sweet. Parking is a hit or miss, but we went around 7ish maybe 8pm and it empty and started to pick up and found parking right up front. Definitely returning here and hope you enjoy your visit!

The lunch special 3rolls for $10.95 is a great deal. The kani salad for $5.50 is delicious. The only problem is that the kani salad was finished in less than 10seconds. Took 3 bites and it was devour.

I really love the shrimp tempura roll and the avocado with peanuts roll, which I've had two or three times after sitting at the place. The chicken hibachi was also good. However, the godzilla roll I ordered from grubhub was fishy. The duck roll was not good at all and very soggy. The beef negimaki was overly sweet and not too good. I highly recommend sitting down and eating so things stay fresh. Never ordering take out from here again.

As the first and only full-service Japanese restaurant in Woodhaven, this stylish and attractive restaurant covers all gustatory delights that Americans generally associate with Japanese cuisine. Coincidentally, it is owned and well-managed by the same owners as Rich-Haven Liquors, next door. There, u may buy from a heady selection of sakes and wine. To my knowledge, U-Me does not charge corkage fees. As for Buyer- Beware advice, keep in mind the extensive menu, the food- preference of the locals, and the high rent which figures into your bill. Consider, also, turnover, and the sad fact that all the raw fish used has been flash frozen making each variety taste similar with no individual texture of note. The FDA requires such treatment for salmon which is a known vector to humans of filiarisis. It is not required of many other piscine creatures. When you love sushi as do I, this unfortunate means of extending shelf-life does put a major dent in its quality. Uni is not available.

I give it three stars because the food is really good, 4 stars good. But the service here sucks. They don't understand the concept of hospitality and what it means to make a customer happy. It takes more than good tasting food to satisfy customers. I am a repeat customer and every time I call for delivery it takes an hour or more and I live 6 blocks away! The only time I get fast and adequate service is when I take out. Otherwise, delivery takes forever and good luck sitting down to be waited on.

The restaurant is well kept and clean, but the food isn't appealing nor is it tasteful. I had California rolls that weren't in anyway good and there miso soup doesn't taste authentic. If u want a great place to go, head to Kido in Queens Center Mall.

I'm only commenting about the food. Idk about the service other than take out. I live really close and one person from my family orders from here just based on the proximity to our house. I don't like the food...it's consistently bad. I've tried several times and it's just bad- bad quality. He wanted to pick up something again yesterday and our of convenience I ordered for the third and last time. Simple chicken teriyaki. I threw it out after having a few bites..The chicken somehow also tasted like fish, it was rubbery and disgusting. The sauce was gloomy. Not appetizing at all. I only ate half the rice. It's the second time I threw away food from them. I don't know. I'll order Japanese from any of the other many restaurants within the vicinity, I've learned by lesson.

When this place opened up I was pretty excited to finally have a local sushi spot. I've had their lunch special box to go and found myself pretty disappointed in the lack of flavor. I've eaten in the restaurant and found my rainbow roll horribly bland.. my friend's hibachi rice saved the night though. I gave it another try since other sushi places are finally popping up in the neighborhood and giving this place competition.. and I was STILL disappointed. The yellowtail scallion roll had an unpleasant pungent scent that good sushi should just not have. The spicy tuna was also anything but. Just a sad, orange mush.. people raving about the sushi at this place SERIOUSLY need to explore sushi outside of the neighborhood cause this stuff is not worth the price or thought. A place that can't get basic rolls to taste good shouldn't be handling sushi.

Fake Japanese restaurant with terrible food and rude service. The squid wasn't fresh, and the teriyaki sauce resembled a thick, brown gel. Avoid this place.

This is the worst take out place ever. You won’t ever get a manager and expect to wait more than an hour and or an hour and 45 minutes for your food. Avoid this place and save yourself a headache and order from somewhere else. If you do order pay in cash so that if your order wait time is unacceptable then you can cancel them and not be liable for the charges.

I ordered for delivery ordered the dragon roll and california roll. I asked what was in the dragon roll and she said crab and eel sauce. When I received my order there were eel in the sushi roll and when I called her back she had an attitude. The sushi were falling apart, it was very soft and it looks unappealing. The person over the phone had a nasty attitude. Very unsatisfied customer. The delivery took like 40 minutes.

WORST FOOD EVER, We are sick!- STAY AWAY Phone cust service was AWFUL tried 5X TO ADD to my order no one helped. When I finally got my food CHICKEN AND STEAK HIBACHI WAS SLIMY. Got on the phone with seamless and they tried to help HOWEVER I was told that they need to PICK UP THE UN EATEN PORTION TO REVIEW IT. WHAT THE F?! Its in my garbage can where it belongs. So they wont issue a reimbursement for THEIR AWFUL UNCOOKED FOOD. This really made me feel so disrespected, Is it because I am hispanic that you need to look over your f-ed up food. Do you think I want a free meal from you?! No thanks ..NEVER EVER WILL I ORDER OR EAT FROM YOUR ESTABLISHMENT AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE ON SOCIAL MEDIA SEES THIS. mY HUSBAND IS SICK AS WELL NOW. And if you look at you reviews on yelp I'm not the only one who has complained. Perhaps less time on the phone with friends and more time with your cooks and inventory on GOOD PRODUCT WOULD HELP. disappointed that the restaurant wanted to view the food we ordered b4 issuing us a credit. I expected more from vendors on seamless. I feel very violated and as if this was a racist attack. I've been a long time seamless customer and never had this issue.

The food was horrible i ordered a soft crab and paid $15 for 3 little pieces and i didn’t even get a side with it!!!! Very disappointed don’t come here to order regular hot food it’s not the place!!! Wasted $60 should have just went up the block.

The quantity you are paying for you are not getting. I spent $4.50 on salmon roe and got barely anything only checked to find out after getting home. The sashimi are sliced so thin they are very cheap.

I almost got assaulted by the delivery guy because I told him I didn't have cash for tip; The reason I paid with a card. so I felt obligated to grab some change and give it to him because he was being aggressive and wouldn't leave my house. I always order from this place and have never had a problem. I called this establishment to ask why this man was forcing me to give tip from my card. The lady explains that he wants tip to pay for gas. 2 1/2 blocks is the distance. I always tip well when I have it. It isn't free delivery min. 15$ as they state on the flyer; I spent almost 40 for 2 meals and 2 appetizers. You just lost a faithful client!!

Terrible service!! Order was more than 25 minutes late and driver refused to bring the food to the apartment after 4-5 phone calls and attempts. He was waiting outside and kept calling. Specifically requested utensils due to not having access to any and guess what, nothing in the bag! Ended up eating with my hands and on the phone trying to resolve my missing items from the order. Poor service on both ends, restaurant and delivery driver. Cold food which was ridiculous. This is why I leave a tip and order large amounts of $$ for good customer service. Never again, take your business elsewhere. Most terrible and pathetic delivery ever. Didn't speak English and definitely restaurant is like a Chinese takeout spot.

Ordered from uber eats. Sushi wasn’t even edible… I was excited because it was buy 1 get 1 free and now I know why… because it’s disgusting and they probably just want to get rid of it. Ordered recently. I ordered the alaska roll from them and it was TERRIBLE. They did not put rice vinegar in the rice. The avacado was hard and chewy and not ripe. The salmon also had a mild fishy smell to it. I regret ordering from this place and wish I could get my money back. I dont know how they have high reviews. They honestly suck at making sushi. This is the worse sushi place I ever tried and I tried over 5 different places in NYC.

Disturbed and never ordering again I used to order all the time ! Once a week or every two weeks at least Depending on the crave I just ordered for the last time Received the new spicy Kani with two stings in inch roll but alot of this mushy thickness with. I am guessing is the crunch but it was soft and so much no meat at all. Done with place ! In photo apparently spicy Kani disgusting 🤮
