I read about Cinnamon Club in J.K.Rowling’s crime novel Running Grave, part of the sequence about the detective Cormoran Strike. The restaurant is described so vividly and pleasantly that my desire to visit it grew immediately while reading. During my last stay in London I took the opportunity to go there with my loved ones. The dinner was a pleasant experience for all of us. I am grateful to J. K. Rowling for referring to the Cinnamon Club in her novel🫶😊😉 The old Westminster Library, where the restaurant is situated, provides unique, spiritual and relaxed atmosphere. The food features sophisticated and rich tastes pleasing the palate and senses. On top of that the restaurant offers high level service. Special thanks to the admirable waitress from Bulgaria, who paid us special attention:)

We called in here on the off chance we could get a table after a concert in a local hall, and we could! Very pleased they were able to find a table for us: the meal was fantastic. The Tasting Menu option was not initially given to us, but was available on request. We opted for the Tasting Menu: eight courses of beautifully presented food with incredible flavours. The waiting team were brilliant, friendly but not overbearing, and very happy to help recommend food and wine. Overall, a superb dining experience.

From the moment we arrived — a little earlier than our reservation — we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The staff handled our early arrival with warmth and ease, setting the tone for what turned out to be a truly exceptional evening. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect: refined yet relaxed, with just the right atmosphere for a special occasion. We opted for the tasting menu, and as I had mentioned my dislike for pigeon, the kitchen was happy to make thoughtful adjustments without compromising the integrity of the experience. Each course was beautifully presented and expertly explained as it arrived. The fusion of Eastern and Western influences in both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes was not only creative but also delicious. The standout dish for me was the lamb chop — without a doubt the best I’ve tasted to date. Our servers, Shqkel and Anstatia, were warm, attentive, and extremely professional — striking that perfect balance of being friendly without ever being overbearing. The wine connoisseur on hand clearly had an impressive depth of knowledge, recommending pairings that truly elevated each course. To top off a wonderful evening, the team surprised us with a complementary birthday cake and a handwritten card — such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration all the more special. In summary, if you’re considering a visit to The Cinnamon Club, don’t hesitate. It’s an amazing experience from start to finish. Thank you to everyone at Cinnamon Club for a truly memorable evening — we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

A Sensational Indian Fine Dining Experience in a Historic Setting My wife and I recently enjoyed an unforgettable evening at The Cinnamon Club, and it truly lived up to its reputation as an institution in the world of Indian fine dining. Set in the stunning Grade II-listed former Westminster Library, the venue blends historic elegance with a warm, contemporary dining experience. The high ceilings, original woodwork, and shelves of books create a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere, a setting that elevates the meal into a complete experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every staff member was attentive and welcoming, and a special mention goes to Adil and the lovely Lourdes. Lourdes took the time to show us around the restaurant and share the fascinating history of the building, a gesture that made our visit feel all the more special. Now to the food, an absolute journey of flavours and spice. Starters We began with Okra with peanut and jaggery, curried yoghurt, and chilli coconut chutney , a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy, with textures that kept every bite interesting. Alongside this, we enjoyed Grilled king scallops with varhadi techa spices, chutney potato, and Kolhapuri sauce. This is a must-try . The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the bold spices of the Kolhapuri sauce were beautifully balanced. We also sampled the Tandoori free-range chicken breast with pickling spices and kachri chutney. Juicy, tender, and full of layered flavours, it was a standout in its own right. Mains For the main course, we shared two sensational dishes. The Grilled jumbo Black Tiger prawns with seafood makhani sauce and rice vermicelli were rich, luxurious, and bursting with flavour. The prawns were meaty and cooked to perfection. The Clove-smoked saddle of Kentish lamb with aromatic galouti kebab, corn, and yoghurt sauce was equally divine. The clove smoke infused the lamb with a subtle depth, and the galouti kebab practically melted in the mouth. Sides We paired our mains with Black lentils , creamy and comforting and something far more adventurous: The Bombay Burner. This fiery lamb mince dish, made with ghost chilli, peas, and fenugreek leaf, lives up to its name. When they say hot, they mean hot. It was an explosion of spice and flavour, utterly addictive, even as it challenged my heat tolerance. My mouth wanted more, but my taste buds were begging for mercy. Desserts To finish, my wife enjoyed the Tutti frutti whipped ganache with saffron pistachio kulfi and paan oil, an elegant, vibrant combination of textures and flavours. Not a crumb or drop was left, which says it all. I went for the Coconut phirni with pineapple murabba and lime basil sorbet. Refreshing, fragrant, and perfectly balanced, it was the ideal ending to a spice-filled meal. It was so good I didn’t want to share even a spoonful with my wife. Overall From start to finish, The Cinnamon Club delivered a memorable dining experience that was as much about the setting and service as it was about the exquisite food. The menu showcases Indian flavours in a refined, contemporary way, with creativity and precision in every dish. If you’re looking for a place that combines history, atmosphere, impeccable service, and a culinary journey of spice and flavour, The Cinnamon Club should be at the top of your list. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to something exceptional, this is a restaurant that will not disappoint.

Colourful and fragrant. Lovely tasting menu showcasing a good range of culinary skills. Generous portion of seafood and meat dishes that allow proper sampling of each dish. I am not familiar with different Indian spices, but it was a truly adventurous and enjoyable experience throughout. Pigeon was my favourite from the tasting menu. The server told me that pigeon was on their menu for 25 years already; amazing! The tiger prawn dish went particularly well with naan bread, which was the best naan bread I had ever eaten. Yes, something special about the light and spongy texture of the naan, served warm directly from the kitchen. Very good value for money.

We visited over the weekend . The restaurant is really buzzing with lots of people. The service is great and the attention to detail. Thanks for of the staff letting us know there is an APP that gives discounts. We got the vegan menu which was lovely and for the price a steal! The food was flavoursome not too spicy but packed a punch. It was nice to try costal indian food which I have not eaten before. The only downside the toilets there is a noticeable smell like moud but also the toilets needs a huge revamp. And, I noticed some tables at the back where trying to get the attention of staff. The waiters were of their feet but some of the managers who were at the front reception should just do a walk around every 15 mins to check if anyone wanted anything because the waiters were extremely busy. Apart from that I would definitely visit again and one of the staff recommended the weekend brunch.

A surprise birthday dinner for my wife, (special birthday) at the venue which is close to our hearts. 19 years earlier I had proposed at the Cinnamon Club. A wonderful evening, great Indian food with a modern twist, my daughters and I opted for the scallop starter, it was incredible!!! Polite, and friendly service, just the right balance to ensure you’re enjoying the meal and if anything else was needed. We had chef Vivek Singh come over to our table and chatted with the family, which made it extra special. Make sure you leave space for dessert, you don’t want to miss out! To finish we also purchased the cook book, which chef kindly signed.

What makes The Cinnamon Club exceptional isn’t just their technical prowess—it’s their fearless approach to reimagining Indian classics while respecting their soul. I had their tasting menu I’ve attempted to review my experience below: The Beyond Butter Chicken exemplifies this philosophy perfectly. This isn’t your typical curry house fare! It was real life master chef experience with deconstructed butter chicken and deceptive style dahi balla sorbet- an absolute delight! The sommelier’s expertise shines throughout the tasting menu. Each wine selection feels purposeful rather than prescriptive, creating harmonious bridges between Indian spicing and international varietals. The 2017 Parrino Marabino from Sicily with the roast Balmoral Estate venison was particularly inspired - the wine’s earthy depth enhanced the venison’s natural gaminess while the masala mash provided a creamy, spiced foundation that tied everything together seamlessly. One of The Cinnamon Club’s greatest strengths is their ability to cater to sophisticated palates while remaining genuinely welcoming to families. Our 8-year-old was treated with the same respect as every adult diner, and the kitchen’s adaptation of dishes for younger tastes showed real thoughtfulness—maintaining the restaurant’s high standards while ensuring the flavors were accessible to more tender palates. The Cinnamon Club proves that Indian fine dining doesn’t need to choose between authenticity and innovation—it can brilliantly achieve both. This is destination dining that happens to be Indian, rather than Indian food trying to be fancy. The difference is profound and delicious. For anyone seeking to understand how Indian cuisine can be elevated without losing its heart, The Cinnamon Club remains the essential experience in London.

I had an absolutely wonderful birthday experience at The Cinnamon Club in what is an incredibly rare, yet wonderful, restaurant setting. The whole family dined-in and each of us loved it - particularly the unique selection of starters and cocktails available on the evening. Across the night, the team were especially warm and attentive to us, ensuring the drinks kept flowing which we loved! They gave an excellent touch at the end with a lovely birthday plate too and we all look forward to visiting again soon!

The Cinnamon Club – A true culinary Indian journey Being of Indian descent, it’s incredibly hard for me to find an Indian dining experience that truly hits the mark. The Cinnamon Club didn’t just hit it — it surpassed it in every possible way. From the very first dish, every flavour landed with precision. This was not British-Indian nostalgia or overused classics, but proper Indian cuisine from the motherland, executed with confidence and restraint. Indian food should never be over-spiced; it should have layers, balance, and depth — and every course delivered exactly that. I was taken on a genuine culinary journey, one where each plate created food memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. I had the privilege of attending a special 25-year anniversary experience, made even more meaningful by the presence of chef Vivek Singh, who personally talked us through the tasting menu. Hearing the story behind each dish added soul and context, and you could feel decades of evolution, craft, and intent in every bite. The décor, atmosphere, guest experience, wine pairings, and the warmth of the welcome were all exceptional. Everything worked in harmony. This is how hospitality should be done — elegant, thoughtful, and deeply human. What makes the experience even more powerful is the story of the place itself. Opened in 2001 in the historic Grade II-listed Old Westminster Library, The Cinnamon Club has spent over two decades redefining expectations of Indian cooking. As Vivek Singh himself explains, the vision has always been to liberate Indian food from its traditional shackles and create a marriage between Indian flavours and Western fine-dining techniques. That philosophy is evident in every detail — from the menu to the execution to the experience as a whole. This is not just another Indian restaurant. It is, without hesitation, the best Indian restaurant in London. I highly recommend it and genuinely cannot wait to return.

As indicated the food was excellent along with the service and the atmosphere. Our whole table enjoyed the evening. An aperitif and a glass of champagne was also provided in the set menus. A very pleasant jazz band played throughout the evening. The cost of the evening for 5 people including the set menu, 2 bottles on wine, 4 bottles of beer and tip was £953.

Dining at The Cinnamon Club was an unforgettable celebration of refined Indian cuisine, delivered with impeccable balance and creativity. From the first canapé, each dish revealed bold spices crafted with delicacy and restraint. The opening trio offered contrasting textures and flavours—bright tamarind, fragrant coriander, and subtle yoghurt—setting the tone for a thoughtful culinary journey. The grilled Scottish scallop, paired with chutney potato and the nuanced heat of varhadi techa spices, was beautifully composed, offering sweetness and depth in every bite. The progression into the starters showcased the kitchen’s mastery even further. The clove-smoked Anjou pigeon was tender and aromatic, harmonized with beetroot raita, pumpkin, and the gentle crunch of peanuts—a sophisticated reinterpretation of classic Indian pairings. The tandoori Kentish lamb chop followed with remarkable precision, charred at the edges but succulent inside, enriched by fenugreek flavours and a bold rahra gosht sauce that lingered warmly on the palate. The main courses were equally memorable. The jumbo black tiger prawn was grilled to perfection, infused with Awadhi notes and balanced by spiced yoghurt, while the Balmoral Estate venison loin offered an elegant contrast—lean, earthy, complemented by rock moss and a subtle dried-lime accent that elevated the masala mash. The finale, a saffron pistachio kulfi with tutti frutti ganache and paan oil, was a masterclass in texture and aroma, delivering a dessert that was both nostalgic and modern. The ambiance only enhanced the experience: dining among walls of vintage books felt timeless and calm, with service that was warm, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about each course. My drinks—Assam Breakfast tea and the Lively cocktail—paired effortlessly, balancing comfort and sophistication. Every plate at The Cinnamon Club told its own story, and together they created one of the most exceptional tasting menus I have enjoyed in London. A true destination for anyone seeking elevated Indian cuisine presented with grace and imagination.

I have hosted a number of private events at the Cinnamon Club and this last year may have been the best so far. First let me say that the person who manages their events is one of the nicest and most helpful events manager iced worked with. He was always available to answer my questions and worked with me on special food requests, menus and beverages to stay within my budget. The space we had on this very special occasion worked perfectly. Our group was able to sit comfortably together, mingle before dinner and were able to give speeches where everyone could hear. The staff the day of the event were also tremendous and made us feel at home and accommodated our last minute dietary requirements. We will definitely be back for another event. Thank you again for such a magical time.

We went for New year's Eve and it was a great decision. The set menu was filled with enticing choices. We started with a gin based aperitif which was included. Very nice. Then there was an amazing amuse bouche, followed by a delightful selection of starters. I had an outstanding lamb dish. A mid course beetroot cake with house made fruit ketchup was a perfectset up for our main courses. I hade grilled Tiger Shrimp which was out of this world. There was naan, raita and dhal for the table. Finally I finished with a chocolate ganache accompanied by a lime basil sorbet that I will try to reproduce at home. The service was never rushed, and was impeccable. There was also a small jazz band with a great singer playing all evening. We ended with a glass of sparkling wine each before heading home after midnight. A thoroughly enjoyable evening! It was pricy when wine and beer and a tip were added.

The Cinnamon Club gave us an absolutely wonderful dining experience. You should definitely, definitely, definitely try this place! 🍽️✨ We will be recommending it to all our friends who plan to visit London. Everything we tasted was incredibly delicious. The evening started with a complimentary amuse bouche from the chef it was amazing and truly unforgettable. 😍 As starters, we ordered the aubergine dish and the Lamb Passanda kebab, and we absolutely loved both of them! For the main course, I chose the freshwater fish, while my husband had the Kentish lamb both were outstanding and full of flavour. 👌 It was my husband’s birthday, and I had asked in advance if they could prepare a small cake with a candle. They kindly surprised us by bringing it together with the desserts, completely complimentary, which was such a thoughtful touch 🎂🕯️ The desserts were exceptional the flavour (perhaps anise or tarragon) instantly took me back to my childhood. Truly memorable. 💫 All the staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and kind. Huge thanks to the chef and the entire team this was genuinely one of the best meals we’ve ever had. We are already looking forward to visiting again! ❤️🍷

We returned to the Cinnamon Club after what I thought was 28 years (it was for a milestone birthday party but spoke to my friend and it was just over 24 years ago- oops!). We had booked the Retro menu option and were initially surprised that it was a fairly concise menu. However, the variety and selection turned out to be spot on. We decided to share all the dishes (although the food is not designed to be served as such) as we wanted to try everything. Starters were the sandalwood infused chicken, lamb kebabs and the potato cake. Mains were the pork vindaloo, the salmon with sides of daal and mushroom/spinach stir fry. All the food arrived promptly, was hot and full of flavour. The chicken was very delicately infused and the sandalwood was just noticeable far in the background and did not overpower or taste like pot pourri. Kebabs were tender and not dense and heavy although I could not quite make out the pink chutney served with it. The potato cake (aloo tikki) was generous in size, not greasy and packed with warming spices. Onto the main course - it probably would have been better to order our own dishes as, as mentioned above, they are not designed for sharing. We had to cut up the pork vindaloo which wasn’t the easiest of tasks because of the bone. However, we persevered and it was worth doing so. This was not the pork vindaloo that one thinks of and shies away from at a generic Indian restaurant/takeaway. This was not a ‘let’s see what’s the hottest dish on the menu’ dish. It was as it should be - tangy, spiced but not hot. Unfortunately, I did not have the salmon but everyone on the table said it was perfectly cooked and the caramelisation added to the flavour. Daal, spinach and naans/rotis were all well made. We finished off our meal with a selection of desserts from the retro menu - poached pear, the chocolate mousse cake and the the tutti frutti kulfi (can’t remember if that was on the retro or regular menu). I am not a fan of desserts so didn’t try them but everyone seemed to enjoy the selection. I do not have photographs as I hate constantly bringing out my phone to document what we ate and take away from the whole experience. To top it all though, Vivek Singh popped over to our table to have a chat. What a treat!. It was a great chance to speak about the restaurant, the menu and the Cinnamon group in general. He was warm, very engaging and genuinely interested in our feedback. Last night was an overdue reunion and it turned out to be an excellent and memorable evening enhanced by our surrounding and great food. Thank you Cinnamon team - we hope to be back soon!

We had an excellent dining experience, and very much enjoyed the early dinner set menu. The food was just perfect, particularly the chicken which was tender and so so yummy. When I booked, I had entered in the special occasion box that we were dining after my husbands FRCA graduation. I’d forgotten I’d done this after booking very far in advance, and so the team very much surprised him with dessert congratulations plate! Thank you, we will certainly be back again

Dinner in a library? 😍 We had the dreamiest evening at The Cinnamon Club in Westminster, dining surrounded by bookshelves in the old library setting. Everything about this restaurant is worth a visit: the place, the food, the service. We went there to celebrate a birthday and they added a nice attention with an extra dessert with candles. We had a great time and were surprised the service charge wasn’t included. We were a bit confused and not reactive enough so failed to ask to add it, but we really should have as everything was perfect!

Great Food in a brilliant venue. We had the festive menu - which had partridge and lamb chops as highlights and a brilliant tiger prawn dish aswell. Somebody at my table got the wine pairing which I thought was nice - however I am no connoisseur! Generally the food was fantastic with the exact right level of spice and fantastic flavours overall - the courses were all delicious and the meats were all cooked perfectly - i.e super juicy and fresh. The cocktail at the bar underneath the main hall was great and they delivered me a cake and a card to celebrate my 18th! Service was fantastic of course, as to be expected.

This dinner was delicious. Tasting menu with lovely range of dishes and flavours, tough to pick a favourite but skill shown in every dish. Christmas dinner was divine. Goose was sensational - could have benefitted from a steak knife though. Lobster bisque was fantastic and the sides of black dhal, masala potatoes were very delicious. The final Christmas pudding was delightful. The whole thing was excellent and met some lovely people at the table beside us. Excellent staff, friendly and efficient.

I went to the Cinnamon Club on Friday and had an amazing time! The service was excellent, the staff were so attentive and made us feel really looked after. The food was delicious, especially the chicken, which was so juicy and tender. The cocktails were great, and we also had some bubbly which the staff kept topping up throughout the evening. Overall, a fantastic experience, can’t wait to come back!

As a book lover, the idea of eating in a grade II listed old library appealed to me so much that I came here for the set lunch menu of three courses for £35, which in London is a real bargain. My meal started with a complimentary spiced cube of potato which gave you an insight of how flavoursome the rest of the meal was going to be. I ordered the lamb chukka for a starter which was perfectly spiced with just the right size for a starter. Next I had the Yetti Gassi, which is a shrimp curry - this is where the absolute value is. The curry had 14 big juicy prawns in a tasty sauce which was complimented by the green mango and rice. I managed to eat 12 of the prawns as I had to keep room for the pudding. Dessert was the sticky fruit and nut pudding, which was an Indian take on a sticky toffee pudding, although small, it is not for the faint hearted, this packed a punch in flavour and sweetness. The cinnamon ice cream is a welcomed relief to offset the sweet pudding. You can ask for an 'invisible naan' to your bill for £5 which goes towards a hospitality charity to help people get back on their feet. The service was friendly and attentive.

The setting of the cinnamon club is beautiful - in the old Westminster library. I took my husband here for his birthday and informed the restaurant ahead it was his birthday. We opted for the tasting menu. Each dish was excellent and the restaurant catered really well for my nut allergy which I usually find difficult at an Indian restaurant. The service was a bit strange. The staff whilst pleasant were very efficient and a bit stand offish. It had a corporate vibe to it - there was nothing personal about the service and we didn't feel any warmth from our staff. It felt like we were a bit like a production line. The tables around the perimeter of the restaurant are incredibly close together - so much so it feels like you are awkwardly eavesdropping on other's conversations. The restaurant then asked for tea and coffee orders and it was apparent they had forgotten my request about my husband's birthday which was a shame. I had to have a pretend visit to the cloakroom to speak to the staff about organising this. The staff did rectify this as soon as possible and presented another dessert (which we had already) - whilst this was really kind, we were incredibly full! Whilst the food was good, it felt like the overall experience lacked a bit of warmth.

London is home to some of the finest Indian cuisine outside of India, and The Cinnamon Club stands out as a truly unique and exceptional dining experience. Housed within a stunning Victorian library, the restaurant's well-designed dining room provides a truly memorable setting. The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering an array of excellent food options, and the well-trained staff provides impeccable service. Every dish was delicious, with the standout being the chicken rezaia, which was perfectly seasoned and full of flavour. Overall, the experience was delightful, making The Cinnamon Club a place I can count on for an outstanding fine-dining meal.

Exceptionally delicious Indian cuisine in the shadow Westminster Abbey. Though very good, the Crab Rissoto had a noticeable absence of crab yet it did feature shrimp prominently. Had to wait a very long time for the check though I'm still trying to figure out if that my American desire to get when I'm done or a service improvement. Definitely worth a try.

Good food, lovely setting and helpful staff. We had multiple items on the menu (starter, main, dessert + drinks) for dinner. Mains were the venison loin & kentish lamb. Favourite dishes were the whipped ganache and black cardamom brûlée so don't have to spend too much to enjoy a nice meal. Worth it and recommended!

Came for the Valentine's Day special menu. We arrived on time (8.45pm) but were told our table was ready and were made to sit downstairs in the bar for 45 minutes. We enjoyed a couple of alcohol free cocktails - lively was very good! When we finally got upstairs the food was pretty good. Decent level of spice and good flavour. The service was incredibly slow - I think the kitchen was struggling with the huge Valentine's Day crowd - but we weren't in a rush and enjoyed our time. However my Turbot was cold which was a little disappointing. The service wasn't very friendly either but we didn't mind - sometimes overly attentive service can feel a bit much. Better and more authentic tasting than some other 'high end' Indian restaurants like Yaatra or Colonel Saab.

The Cinnamon Club is housed in a stunning Grade II-listed former Westminster library, where shelves of old books and elegant Chesterfield sofas create an atmosphere of English chic with a belle epoque charm. The aroma of warm spices (saffron most notably) combined with polite and attentive staff sets the stage for what promises to be an exceptional dining experience. The a-la carte and 5-course tasting menu are reasonably priced for a fine dining setting featuring creative Indian fusion. And for this price and elegance, one can only raise anticipation to an equally balanced service. However, during our recent midweek visit, service fell short of expectations. Despite sufficient staff on the floor, the kitchen was noticeably slow. This resulted in long gaps between courses, undermining the tasting menu concept, let alone some dishes arrived colder than they should and drinks were also delayed. While the food itself was soulful and beautifully crafted, the extensive use of saffron across almost all dishes felt a bit overwhelming. Well, at least this may be just a personal preference. My 4-star rating reflects primarily the service, which did not meet the level of anticipation. Spending 2.5 hours on a 5-course menu with inconsistent cadence and temperature totally sours the overall experience. I hope this was just an unfortunate and isolated issue, perhaps due to kitchen constraints, rather than the norm. Having said that, I would gladly return for a second chance if I get the opportunity in the future to see if I can uplift my review to 5 star.

I visited Cinnamon Club in Westminster for an office Christmas lunch in early December. Although they didn’t offer a festive menu at the time, their Indian-inspired menu had an interesting selection of starters, main dishes and desserts. We had the option to choose individual dishes or opt for a three-course set menu, which turned out to be the better value. As a pleasant surprise, we were served a complimentary small finger starter to begin the meal. For my starter, I chose the fish cake, which was flavorful and well-prepared. My main course was the jackfruit stew. While it was a creative dish and generally enjoyable, I found the coconut flavor a bit overpowering for my taste. Nonetheless, the overall quality of the food was great, and everything was served promptly. The ambiance of Cinnamon Club is a comfortable, speakeasy-style setting that adds a unique charm to the dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Pricing felt reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. I had a good experience overall and would return to explore other items on their menu. If you’re looking for a place that serves Indian cuisine with a sophisticated twist, Cinnamon Club is worth a visit.

We dined here for Christmas Day supper. It was busy, so we (unfortunately) sat at a table outside the library. The service was slightly distracted, although it being Christmas Day I suppose that makes sense. The food was solidly B+/A-. The lobster soup was a little tepid but tasted great. The prawn main course was delicious! All the amuse bouche and side dishes were nice as well. Cocktails were interesting. The sommelier picked a wonderful white wine by the glass for pairing with dinner. All told, it was a nice time!

We took up the current two week offer of dinner at 2001 prices and had a fantastic evening. The restaurant is grand and beautiful. The staff were very attentive. The food was delicious, with flavours creatively put together. One or two dishes did not hit the mark, the mango rice cake and liver starter but that is our personal palette. Overall an exceptional and affordable fine dining experience. If the offer is extended we will certainly be back.

Lovely looking restaurant but sadly food was disappointing. My partner had booked this for dinner for after a concert. Food was lukewarm, we returned the nan and then they returned with burnt nan! What kind of chef would let this go out of his kitchen? Waiter serving was disinterested, overall a let down. Was expecting so much more. 😭

While the location is a 10/10 with a stunning dining room, the food and service were subpar. Starters were okay but not outstanding while the main dishes lacked real flavour and the spice level was just so mild and basic. Service was disappointing too as the waiters got 2 items wrong in our order. Wine selection was decent. Overall, I would definitely not come back for food but maybe for a drink at the lovely bar they have downstairs.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while and it was shared to me that it was almost a London establishment. I had booked my reservation about a month in advance. When calling on the day, I was advised to come earlier in the day from 7 pm resy to 5:30 pm because of limited tables for the retro menu. I changed the reservation time reluctantly. Then when getting to the restaurant I was asked multiple times (3x to be exact) that they needed to turn around the tables within 90 minutes. I arrived around 5:30 and I left before 7 pm! The food did not come out hot and the portion sizes were small. The pear was hard as a rock and the cinnamon ice cream was one bite. Would I come back again? No

We visited The Cinnamon Club with high expectations, given its reputation, historic setting, and premium pricing. Unfortunately, while the ambience impressed us, the food itself fell short. The restaurant is undeniably beautiful. Housed in a former library, the space has an elegant, old-world charm with high ceilings, bookshelves, and a calm, refined atmosphere. It feels special the moment you walk in, and from an ambience perspective, it is one of the loveliest dining rooms in London. However, the food did not live up to the setting—or the price point. The dishes were well presented but largely forgettable in terms of flavor. Nothing we tried stood out as unique, innovative, or memorable. The spices felt muted, and the overall taste profile was surprisingly flat for a restaurant that positions itself as elevated Indian cuisine. For the cost, we expected depth, complexity, or at least a signature dish that justified the experience, but nothing truly delivered on that promise. Service was professional, but it couldn’t compensate for the lack of excitement on the plate. At this price level, average food simply doesn’t feel acceptable. Overall, The Cinnamon Club is a place worth visiting for its stunning ambience, but not for the food. Sadly, for us, it didn’t feel like value for money, and we’re unlikely to return.

My wife and I came here for the 25 year reunion retro menu and were really excited as we we've been meaning to come to The Cinnamon Club for many years. We've had Vivek Singh's food before in other places including their at home menus, so we're very much looking forward to it. The service was dissapointing. We were seated, waited about 15 minutes before someone came to take a drinks order, we asked for the wine list (noting that every other table had been given a wine list with their menus), then waited another 20 minutes for someone to take our food order. The Amuse Bouche was nice, but plates weren't cleared until the starter arrived. The starters of chicken tandoori and grilled lamb were extremely tasty, but luke warm. I don't normally complain and on this occasion I didn't, but I found it odd that freshly prepared food would be left on a cold pass. The main was similar (after 30 mins of waiting), my pork chop was amazingly spiced and lovely like that, but again luke warm. My wife's duck breast was only half of a small duck breast alegich looked tiny compared to my main, but also just luke warm. It tasted lovely, but it's just dissapointing. We decided to skip dessert as we had a show to go to and we thought ice cream at the show would be safer bet. It wasn't even busy. We had a 17:15 booking and there were about 16 or 18 other covers and a full complement of staff. It's very odd, I don't think I'll bother going back which is a shame.

I visited the Cinnamon Club for the 25th anniversary throwback menu. I loved the setting of this restaurant, the backdrop is an old library. The food was nice although some dishes didn’t seem fresh at all. The quality of the ingredients was good and the spicing was perfectly balanced. Service wasn’t great, when I paid there was no “thanks” or “see you again” or “bye”. As soon as I tapped my card, the server turned around and walked off, not great after spending nearly £200.

Really disappointing experience. Arrived five minutes early for our booking, table wasn’t ready (fine). Offered a drink in the bar area - we seated ourselves despite multiple staff milling around and waited for 20 minutes without once being attended by staff or asked if we wanted a drink (we did). It’s a small bar and others arriving after us were served promptly so we did wonder if some clientele profiling was going on as older guests were being served very quickly! The onto dinner. Dishes were uninspiring, the chicken tandoori was tough as was an inedible chunk of the lamb kebab. Aubergine was bland. However the service was the main frustration. We waited over half an hour for our mains after our starter was cleared, 15 minutes for drinks (after already waiting 20 minutes in the bar!), plates were cleared from the table whilst we were still eating dishes, and we had to ask to order another drink which then never materialised. Bizarrely poor service and uninspiring food from a supposedly top end restaurant! Don’t recommend!

Visited for the 25th anniversary menu. Arrived at 19:40 for a 19:45 booking. Queued outside for 15 mins, arriving at the front of the queue at 19:55 to be told out table wasn’t ready and we should sit in the bar area for ‘10-15 mins’ until it was. The bar area was like a holding pen - no free seats, overcrowding at the bar etc; it was clear they had just funnelled everyone down there because they had overbooked massively. We waited for a further 20/25 minutes down there before heading back up to be told again our table was ‘10-15 mins’ away from being ready. We explained that this is what we were told 25 mins ago, to which the waitress said ‘these things take time’ and shrugged. There was not once any sort of apology or acknowledgement from staff that this was sub par and they came across very rude and uncompromising. That said, they were probably fed up of having this issue day after day judging by other reviews, and were massively understaffed, so I feel management should hold the blame. We also felt that older customers got priority, and there was a ‘type’ of person they would prioritise. We overheard a waiter discussing at ~20:25 that an older man in the holding bar was loudly unhappy that his 8pm reservation had not been sorted yet, and so the waiters agreed to push him through and get him a table now . Meanwhile, we had been waiting 45 minutes for a 19:45 res. We cancelled our reservation and left, and went to Oorja, which was great!

We went for dinner yesterday. To our surprise, instead of being seated in the actual dining room that is advertised on their website, we were put into what looked like a hastily opened overflow room with the ambience of a dowdy student canteen in a run down third rate hostel. The service was slow and the food, when it finally came, was cold and the flavours mediocre. I would avoid this place like the plague unless you want to risk being put into the same room. The restaurant clearly counts on the fact that diners will not simply walk away when they have planned an evening out! There are much better places with the same ambience, better food and lower prices in London .
