Limoncello at Piazza di Roma

My wife and I had dinner at Limoncello last night. We called & were able to easily make a reservation for 2. After being escorted to our table, we were greeted by Rosalia who is the Owner/Chef. Very nice & friendly. We were brought a brown bag with warm sliced, toasted artesian bread & a small bowl of delicious olive oil. Our waitress Courtney was relatively new at the restaurant, but she was also very friendly, knew the menu well and was very attentive to our table. My wife ordered the squid ink pasta with jumbo shrimp, and I ordered the pasta Sunday sauce. The pasta Sunday sauce was of the best I’ve ever had! Before our entrées, we started by sharing an arugula salad which was good. Rosalia‘s husband Michael came by to meet us. Also, a very nice person who you can tell is very interested in making certain all of the customers are having a wonderful experience. We both thought our entrées were fabulous. Portions are VERY large, so we both took home large portions, which will feed us at least for another meal or 2 at home. It was raining, but Rosalia took us through the catering dining room to the back patio, which looked absolutely beautiful with outdoor light strands hanging above the tables. We can see why other reviews say eating out there is like dining in Italy. Years ago Michael owned a landscaping business, so he used that experience to transform the back yard dining area into what looks like a backyard garden in Tuscany . We hope to make a reservation to enjoy dinner in the backyard dining area very soon!

Piazza di Roma is a special place. From the moment you arrive, you feel like you are being welcomed by an old friend who happens to be an amazing chef and does this for a living. The seafood is always incredible, and the sea bass and risotto are always cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and beautiful. What is really special about this experience is the garden. The garden is gorgeous- lush, landscaped, and completely enveloping. It is like a little piece of Italy right here in New Jersey. The thoughtfulness in every detail makes a big difference to create a space that feels equally suitable for a nice dinner, or a special celebration. I recommend Piazza di Roma to everyone who values excellent food served with beauty, and kindness and hospitality. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

An escape to the almafi coast right in NJ! Food is absolutely delicious and not your typical NJ Italian food… INCREDIBLE garden that you just instantly feel so relaxed with a glass of wine and your favorite cocktail! Apps and main entrees next level! I could go on and on… Book your flight and escape (or just get in your car)

Mike and Rosalia, the proprietors of Limoncello are beautiful people. Always so welcoming , warm and friendly. It feels like going to family dinner every time we go there. The food is always delicious, and now they’ve added “fresh from their garden” selections… so good! The outdoor dining area in the garden is truly Magical…. A hidden gem! Stuffed Pork chop is EVERYTHING!! All the food tastes super fresh and delicious! Owners are super sweet and their open space in the backyard is so serene and beautiful!

This is the second event we have booked at Piazza di Roma and again they did not disappoint. We booked our baby shower in their cocktail room for 60 guests. The atmosphere, service and responsiveness for the planning process went very well. Rosalia is very organized, responsive by email and will make it happen for you. The guests loved the food, enjoyed the space, and we had fun dancing with the Total Entertainment DJ affiliated with Piazza di Roma, who was responsive to the guests and their personal requests for songs. They offered to place a sparkler in our baby shower cake and it was a great display! Overall, it was a very successful and fun event here. Grateful we got to work with them again!

We had the most amazing experience at this restaurant last night. We were able to meet the owners and fell in love with the restaurant even more! Limoncello at Piazza di Roma felt like a slice of Italy right here in NJ. You can tell that Michael and Rosalia carefully constructed a restaurant and menu from their hearts. The restaurant came to fruition in 2020 when their banquet hall and other businesses were struggling during the pandemic. Almost having lost everything, Michael, proposed creating this outdoor restaurant. He combined his talents as a retired landscaper with his wife’s phenomenal cooking to turn this challenging time into a thriving business. Michael explained, “When life gives you lemons, you make limoncello!” You must truly experience this place for yourself. Every corner consists of beautiful flowers blooming from ceramic pottery all intertwined with garden herbs, lemons, and vegetables that are incorporated in their recipes. The delicious, organic recipes are prepared by Rosalia herself! A statue of the Blessed Mother graces the grounds as a Vespa adorned with the Italian colors provides a quant photo opp. You’re made to feel like family when you come! Michael even shared photos of his Italian aunts who are celebrating life now in their late 90’s! Service was also impeccable! We did not feel rushed and were very well taken care of. I urge you to make reservations as nights and seating is limited. We most definitely plan to return. Thank you for making the night so memorable!

My family had a great time celebrating my moms birthday! The food, service, and ambience was amazing. The gardens are stunning and the live music was a special touch. The owners Mike and Rosalie make everyone feel like family. We will be back!

A great authentic Italian restaurant. The outdoor garden setting is fantastic and creates a great atmosphere. The food and drinks are on point. Highly recommend.

Super cute atmosphere. I had the Ceasar salad as an appetizer and the Mediterranean salmon. Both were delicious. All the dishes tasted super fresh and the limoncello margarita was perfectly crafted.

Go check out all the photos on their social media page. You will not believe the gorgeous garden space they have in the back. So incredible. I felt like I was dining on the amafi coast. So much time and effort in creating this atmosphere was done by Mike and Rosalie . Don’t believe me, try it for yourself and you be the judge.

Came in on a rainy Friday night and they really brightened the day. Outstanding charcuterie board, we had the Ragu which was perfectly balanced in flavor, the salmon which was grilled through and very flavorful. The bucatini and Quattro Stagioni also big hits at the table. I don't want to publish this because I want to always get a table, but the experience was too good not to share. Let them know Cam sent you! Btw it says piazza di roma on the sign, limoncello is set in a wonderful garden when the weather permits.

Lovely dining experience. A true neighborhood spot like they used to be. The owner and chef are so nice and kind, and they have created a beautiful place to enjoy dinner with family and friends.

Perfect night!! Wanted to sit outside but the May night was too chilly. Inside decor did not disappoint!! Started with limoncello spritz and Italian margarita at the beautiful bar. We then went to our indoor seats next to basil and mint plants! Appetizers were the sliders and Arugula salad. Perfection could have had 10 more sliders. Main course was squid ink pasta and my husband had the salmon. Flawless dishes. Dessert I had the mudslide drink/dessert!! It did not disappoint!! Our waitress was fantastic!! Plus they gave us a lemon ice aperitif between courses!! 10 out of 10!! 👏👏

I can't say enough great things about the folks at Limoncello. The owners Mike and Rosalie are incredible people. We held our wedding at their restaurant, event center, and stunning outdoor courtyard. There's no other place I would recommend to host your event. The food was top notch. The bartenders were fantastic. The level of service and attention-to-detail you get from Mike and Rosalie are second to none. PLEASE...I urge you to spend time here. Might have been the beat sea bass Ive ever had. This place is always incredible. Service is fabulous. We always look forward to coming back here. The outdoor seating area is unique and looks like Positano.

Great place with great food! The outdoor area is set up in such a nice way that you feel transported to Italy! Additional nostalgic point was the Vespa Scooter that brought me back to memory lane! The owners are very friendly and welcoming! Had an amazing evening at this place! Would definitely come back.

When you walk in you immediately feel like you are in Italy. The Garden, the Music the atmosphere is just beautiful. The food from start to finish is simply amazing. The lemon sorbet cone after your appetizer was just perfect. Run dont walk to this beautiful Restaurant you will not be dissapointed. Im looking forward to going back again real soon.

Everything about my dining experience here at Limoncello’s was nothing short of magical. They brought a little piece of Italy to America and when you step outside, you are transported to an Italian-coastline oasis! My meal was shared with friends and was wonderful and the Limoncello margarita is worth a try! What really made this experience special was the owner himself taking extra time out of his busy schedule to check in on us throughout our dinner, and even when we stepped outside to spend another hour on the patio in the beautiful weather. Attention to detail is like no other and I can imagine this would be an incredible venue for a special event. Will definitely keep coming back here and will be bringing my family and more friends with me! Molto Bene!

Came back after a couple of months and pleasantly pleased to say that everything is still excellent. My boyfriend had the chicken parm with vodka sauce which he loved, and my Chilean sea bass was possibly the best I’ve ever had. Fresh, flavorful, flaky - I couldn’t have asked for more. The garden is beautiful and homey, it almost feels like you’re visiting old friends. This is definitely one of our favorite places in Monmouth!

Absolutely amazing!!! We had a party of 18. Not one complaint. Mike and Rosalia were wonderful, kind, friendly, welcoming, Rosalia made sure everything went smoothly. She checked on us throughout the evening. Everyone reacted out the next day and said I can't wait to go back!!! Definitely recommend dinning here.

This is a fabulous gem hidden in Aberdeen Township! Sitting in the garden takes you away to the feel of Italy and forgetting you're in NJ. The food is superb and atmosphere is beyond beautiful! Owners Mike & Ro are so personable and staff are wonderful! Highly recommend! This is my #1 restaurant!

Had an incredible dinner at Limoncello at Piazza Di Roma in Aberdeen, NJ. The place is stunning—inside is spacious and cozy. The outdoor patio is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by a garden full of herbs and vegetables. It truly like I was dining in Italy. And the food… wow. The chicken francese was hands down the best I’ve had in years (if not ever), and the meatballs were just as unforgettable. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We’re already looking forward to coming back—it can’t happen soon enough!

My fiancé and I decided to make a reservation a few weeks ago and now eat dinner there every weekend. They have the most delicious Italian food in the area!!! As an Italian American that loves to cook I will only eat at Italian restaurants that serve authentic and delicious Italian food. I have now found that restaurant. We also plan on having our wedding reception there as well!!! The drinks are off the charts delicious!!! The atmosphere is beautiful and authentic Italian!!! The service is excellent!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

the food was very tasteless, all you can taste is salt. i got the ragu pasta, ive had better at a diner than here. 2 of our pesto pasta plates were both cold, and when we told the waiter he said its due to the sauce being in the fridge. crazy how you charge $30 for it but its not even made in store? they also never offered a wine glass to my grandmother or water.

So I am the husband, father, and grandfather to all who attempted to celebrate my Wife’s birthday last night. While it escalated to an ugly departure, the cause of the public disturbance was the owners lack of understanding of how to handle the issue. We did not make birthday reservations a month in advance to be served a limited choice of family style options to satisfy the likings of 6 different families. To be honest, we’ve dined there before and what we were served last night was not up to par. The chicken parm had more breading than chicken and very little cheese. When all is said, my grandchildren could have been more respectful in the garden but the damage to the flowers was minimal and my daughter immediately offered to not only pay but also come back this morning to handle the labor. But for some reason the owner did not want to resolve this amicably. That’s the part that baffles me. There was no point to be made by getting aggressive with my daughter and as far as the vulgar gesture from my son in law, that was only after the challenge to take it outside. That was a fight my son couldn’t win because beating up an old man would have been hard to defend in court. So he resorted to giving him the JO hand signal. Not nice, I agree but just his way of saying, don’t be ridiculous! I’m sorry my little ones had to witness this event that got blown up way out of proportion. For the record, the actual damage to his couches was from the child of other customer jumping up and down on it like it was a trampoline and that my friends was clear in the video and for some reason the owner told that customer that their child was not involved. Besides the video, my wife, the Birthday girl, was in the garden and witnessed it and admonished our grandchildren to stay away from them because the eventual chaos was obvious at that point. So if the owner was aware of who was jumping on his couch, pointed out to him before the altercation, why would he pursue that with only my daughter. My guess is those parents were close friends or relatives. In the end the dinner was not up to par, and we were not treated like a returning client spending over two thousand dollars The good news is I wanted to give my wife a memorable experience, got it!!
