Opinions de Queen of Sheba Addison
If you’re looking for an incredible Ethiopian restaurant in Dallas, this is the place! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The owner is so kind and thoughtful — he personally took the time to explain the dishes, ingredients, and traditions behind the food, which made the experience even more special. The food is absolutely outstanding. The homemade garlic sauce is amazing — you can taste how fresh it is, made from high-quality vegetables and ingredients. Every dish was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully prepared. The variety on the menu is impressive, with something delicious for everyone, whether you’re new to Ethiopian cuisine or already love it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you truly feel comfortable dining in. Anyone from anywhere would feel welcomed here. If you’re in Dallas and craving authentic, fresh, and unforgettable Ethiopian food, I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be coming back!
Wow! Great place for authentic Ethiopian food. This is a beautiful place for a date night, business meeting, or catching up meal. I ordered the ravioli, and I do not recommend it. The pieces were SO HUGE. 😅 I could barely fit one into my mouth and the sauce got on my shirt. I can’t get the stain out. 😭 So, definitely try this place if you want a different cultural sensory experience and try some of the classic / original style meals. (:
I’ve been to several Ethiopian restaurants, & this is by far my favorite! The food was amazing as well as the service. I was impressed by the crunchy injera chips that came with the spicy chick pea dip. The kitfo was amazing as well! Our friend got the lamb & the meat fell off the bone sooo clean. Another thing I appreciated was how thorough the menu was. It really shows that they made efforts in explaining what Ethiopian food is to the guests. Definitely will be back!
We went there for dinner and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere is soooooo beautiful—when you walk inside, it instantly feels like you’ve stepped into a palace, almost like being part of a royal family. The space feels warm, elegant, and welcoming. The food is excellent, with plenty of options, including great vegan choices. The desserts are truly special—fit for a queen—and there’s a wide selection of alcoholic drinks as well as hot beverages. What really stood out the most was the customer service. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine smiles, and the staff made us feel like family throughout the entire visit. Truly a wonderful dining experience. One thing I want say I love miss Elsa so great lady .
Came here to celebrate my birthday with a friend. Loved how festive the decorations were for the holidays as well! Owner was very personable and gave us excellent recommendations. I ended up getting Yebeg Wot, and even as someone who isn't the biggest lamb fan, it was SO delicious! Melt in your mouth - I couldn't get enough. My not-so-adventurous friend was pleased she could order fettuccini alfredo, so their menu suits everyone's preferences. Best kept secret in Addison!
1st time trying any Ethiopian cuisine and, having no expectations, I was blown away! The food was beyond flavorful and the setting was beautiful. Joe was very knowledgeable about the dishes and you can tell there is a lot of love and passion there. Whoever the chef is, their skills are exceptional and they should be proud. The doro tibs changed my life for the better so I will be returning
We recently hosted our post-nuptial luncheon at Queen of Sheba, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly courteous, professional, and attentive, making us feel warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. We especially appreciated how flexible and understanding they were with our reservation when we encountered unforeseen delays at the courthouse. Their patience and accommodation helped ease our stress and allowed us to enjoy the celebration without worry. Several of our family members had never tried Ethiopian cuisine before, and they were pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoyed it. The dishes were flavorful, beautifully presented, and perfect for sharing, which made the meal feel even more communal and celebratory. The injera was fresh and delicious, and the variety of vegetarian and meat options ensured everyone found something they loved. The ambiance was relaxed yet elegant—ideal for a special occasion like ours. We’re so grateful to the team at Queen of Sheba for helping make our celebration memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore Ethiopian food or host a meaningful gathering.
The Queen of Sheba delivers an exceptional dining experience! From the moment I walked in, the welcome was warm and genuine. The service was absolutely phenomenal, making us feel truly cared for. As a first-timer to Ethiopian cuisine, I was blown away—the food was incredibly flavorful and easily earns a return visit. The restaurant's ambience is the perfect blend of elegant and comfortable. I happily give this impressive spot a five-star rating!
First try on Ethiopian cuisine and I’m glad it was at Queen of Sheba. Wonderful people with exceptional service, oh and Joe! What a guy he is! He educated me on the history of Queen of Sheba and on Ethiopian coffee, which you have to try btw. all in all, I am pleased and looking forward to being back
Trying Ethiopian food for the first time and it was so flavourful and YUMMY. Not pictured : Himbasha garlic bread, sambusa, vegan dip : All 10/10 Pictured : yebeg wot( highly recommend 11/10) and mushroom ( average, not what I expected it to be) with misir alecha and shiro. Chocolate mousse and cake ( highly recommend).
I’ve tried many Ethiopian restaurants over the years but it all began with Queen of Sheba which has been serving flavorful food for decades. My parents have been loyal customers even before I was born! Queen of Sheba offers individual entrees that come with sides and family platters. Don’t skip out on the platters! The meats and veggies are so flavorful, I can’t get enough of the berebere seasoning. The platters include 2 meats and 4 veggies, I usually order doro tibs (chicken cubbed pieces), yebeg wat (lamb curry), missir wat (red lentils), shiro (chickpea curry), missir alecha (yellow lentil), and gomen (spinach). I would also recommend the beef zil zil tibs which is slightly spicier and is not on the platter menu. All the food is meant to be eaten with injera which is a slightly spongy, sourdough flat bread that you scoop the food with. Injera can be polarizing and not everyone likes it. Queen of Sheba also has live music on occasion with Dancing on weekends. Overall we love this place and the flavorful food
We loved coming here! Food was fresh and delicious. The vegan options weee impressive and savory! Love this place, it’s so enchanting and can’t wait to be back. We had the pleasure of speaking with Joe and even got to say hi to his mom, both of which are so wonderful, knowledgeable and lovely to meet. Wish I had visited sooner! Amazing food! Can’t wait to bring some friends also :)
This is a very enjoyable experience. The food is always so good and the service is very friendly. They have mocktails and cocktails. They have wonderful options for gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and meat dishes. You have not lived life properly until you have had the injera chips with a mild spicy dip. They have literally something for everyone, and all is well made.
We were quickly greeted by staff and the place wasn’t crowded when we arrived around 1:00pm. I’m not too familiar with Ethiopian food but the Sirloin Sizzle tibs(see image) was delicious! Injera bread is complimentary. The food, seasonings and eating concept is definitely unique but well worth it! There is also some kind of live music or karaoke that is featured here too. My only complaint and why I reduced the “atmosphere “ to 3 stars is the ceiling fans were incredibly dusty and the bottom of the walls had what looked like years of splattered food. Sounds bad but an easy fix. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and gave great suggestions. All and all, a great date for the wife and I. If you’re looking for a unique experience with food that has unique and powerful flavors, this place is a must! We will be retuning soon to try more items from the menu.
In Dallas for three nights and our first dinner out was spectacular. The service was friendly, prompt and attentive. The food was flavorful and so delicious. I love that they have a dedicated vegan menu in addition to their meat offerings. Didn’t have to ask many questions because the menu was so clearly informative. 10/10 experience. Will definitely come back.
After 20 years, we returned to Queen of Sheeba on Valentine’s Day, opting for a hike to the suburbs for a change of scenery. The experience was just as wonderful as we remembered. We started with five appetizers, including a flavorful chickpea dip, perfectly roasted cauliflower, crispy sambusa, and Kitfo. Every dish was well-balanced and delicious. For our entrées, we enjoyed tender lamb, black peeper juicy chicken, and a selection of flavorful sides. To finish, we indulged in a decadent chocolate dome paired with fragrant Ethiopian coffee—a perfect ending to the meal. It’s always a pleasure to support a family-owned restaurant, and Queen of Sheeba remains a beloved staple. The ambiance is beautiful, and they’ve done an excellent job maintaining both quality and charm over the years. We’ll be back soon—this time with friends!
The place is fancy inside. I did not expect it. It looks different from outside. Our server is friendly and welcoming. The cauliflower appetizer is alright. The dishes are so delicious! All the meats are cooked properly tender, not overcooked. The injera bread has this sourdough-taste and crepes-texture. The bread is interesting to my opinion, i like the texture a lot but not really about the flavor. Overall i enjoy the veggies and meat dishes!
