After visiting a few times Im coming back to post my review.... Plan accordingly. There is always a long wait time. Luckily its in a shopping center and a great bookstore next door. But don't go far because they will skip you if you are not there. If you dont like sushi there are other dishes including kid friendly options. Each plate is around $4. For 2-3 people plan to spend about $100. 75% of the sushi is bomb! But we did enjoy trying their new menu items and I suggest you try it at least once too. Its also not too big for a large party. Maybe 4-6 people max. Best for just 2 for like a date night. You also get a prize when you eat a certain number of plates and they have rewards if you go often.

Great experience. Loved being able to order whatever we needed as we wanted it. And being able to call a real server if you needed to. The robot drink server was too cute :) A little pricey but I can't wait to go again.

We had so much fun here! Came in the middle of the day, we were sat immediately, and everything was delicious. Ordering from the screen at the table was fun and easy, our drinks came to us via robot which was so cool. There wasn't a single dish we had that we didnt love. Our group of 4 people ate 36 plates which was about $130. Depending on how many plates you eat you get prizes! We got 2 key chains from the 36 plates. Again we had so much fun. Will absolutely come again!

Kura was a fun experience and the sushi was great for the price point. The variety of items on the conveyer belt surprised us and the robot that brings your drinks is a cool touch. My only downside was that the staff did not offer to explain how everything worked and they walked by the table many times without refilling the drinks.

This place is so cute and fun! I adore the atmosphere of the place it's very clean and service was very quick. We were seated immediately. They have the cutest little waiter (robot) who brings out your drinks. I love the ways to get gatchapon toys (little block figurines to build yourself) if you hit a certain number of plates! They do show you how to get the plates out of the conveyor belt so don't worry about that lol. The sushi is made fresh there and tasted amazing. I love that the serving size was 2/3 pieces so we could sample a lot of different kinds. They also have a screen where you can order sushi and other menu items. Overall I recommend this place and will go back again 10/10.

Loved this place ever since my sister first brought me. The sushi's always super yummy and the prizes you get are cute. There are always different collaborations going on. The staff have always been thoughtful. Our server, Abraham was polite and stopped by our table often to make sure we had everything we needed from ginger to refilling our drinks.

Everything about this restaurant makes me happy. From the incredible grade sushi, to the amazing customer service, and back around to the fun atmosphere! This is definitely a great spot to go on a date or a fast lunch from work, great location with fun surrounding stores and the prices aren't absolutely outrageous. Definitely a favorite hidden gem in Austin!

This place is pretty fun. If you’ve never been to one of these and like sushi, it’s worth going once. Price and value wise, it’s OK. Before pandemic prices hikes, was pretty good. Now it’s a bit in the pricier side. I recommend going the hand rolls from the computer menu, as they are tasty. Overall, a good novelty to go to a few times. Fun with friends and family.

Came solo not expecting much but to experience the conveyor sushi. The reataurant is heavily automated with conveyor delivering all dishes. They are clever keeping the dishes covered so dust and fly don't get in which helps keep food safe and fresh. There is two way of getting the food. First, You can order what you want from the 10 inch touch screen on top of your seat or table and order anything you want to eat and it will get delivered to you by an upper conveyor above the rotating conveyor. Second methid is to grab whatever you see on the lower conveyor rotating. I ordered Ramen, green tea and sushi ahead and got my food delivered before my attendant brought me the hot green tea. Later, I grab the dishes from the conveyor. Food quality is good. Rice proportion to the sashimi is 1/3 so you will not be filled with rice. Ramen was a bit salty but good overall. I ended up with 12 dishes and Ramen and was still not full. At the end I had to ask how you pay because instruction was not clear for check out pay. Price is high for casual dinning. Average is about $50 per person which is expensive for a meal but fair for a sushi meal. Would I go back and dine here? YES. Remember to order what you want if you don't see it around.

My family and I have gone to this location for various special occasions over the years and we really enjoy it. Easily the best *conveyor belt* sushi place in the area. I will get out some criticism to start with however, as 1) the sushi QUALITY is objectively middle-of-the-road. There IS better. 2) During prime dinner time the wait can get quite extensive (have waited ~45 minutes for a table), although this location is next to a bunch of fun shops so it evens out. Now as for the good stuff, I have a few things I want to specifically mention. 1) Although almost everything service-wise is automated, the servers and wait staff they do have are *wonderful* and make you feel so welcome to be dining at Kura! 2) Even though I said the sushi quality wasn't the *greatest* it is all very FUN to eat! Both due to quantity you can get for what you pay and because they have little machines set up above your booth that play cute congratulatory videos and pop out little gacha prizes every so often, as you finish plates. 3)They have something special going on every time we go. This last visit they had a Hello Kitty collab and the items and special sushi rolls were SPECTACULAR. If you're a fan of whatever they're collabing with - they will do the collab justice and you will feel like such a superfan. (included a picture of my current favorite speciality sushi roll: the Pom Pom Purrin)

This was a super cool experience! All of the sushi we tried was delicious. It’s a great way to try a bunch of new sushi/other foods without committing to an entire roll. You have the option to grab plates off of the conveyor belt, or order certain rolls which are sent directly to your table on another conveyor belt. There were some dishes on the rotating belt that were not refilled while we were eating which was slightly disappointing, but there were plenty of other options. Other than that, the service was great. They also have ramen and other noodle dishes that you can order. Payment is by the plate. You will get more pieces of “lower-cost” sushi on the plate than “high-value” sushi, but the price per plate is the same regardless. Would definitely like to come back at some point to try some of the rolls I didn’t get the first time (and to eat some of my favorites again!).

The food is decent for the price. Some days it's well worth it, others it's not bad, and on occasion it's not so great. Sometimes if you're not seated in the first half of the tables there's little to no plates available by the time they come around. Personally, I prefer to order from the screen and have it come directly to the table so not a big deal to me but if you're there for the novelty of it be aware of that. Table service is mostly done robots but servers are available if needed.

This place sure is lucky to have such a fun atmosphere or I'd probably rate it lower. I admit I'm a total sucker to all the gimmicks here and the fact that I keep coming back should at least be worthy of 4 stars. Let's talk about the good: The setting is so much fun. The rotating plates, the way you order, the robot drink servers, the themed events, the prize capsules. I can never say I don't have fun here. Let's talk about the bad: The sushi is pretty mediocre. You can tell they're not buying top shelf for sure. It's passable quality. I do enjoy the Tiger Roll and the Golden Crunchy Roll though. So with that out of the way what do I think of this place? It's good. I do wish the sushi was better but I get that more often than not, when you go to a restaurant that focuses more on fun and theme, usually the food takes a hit. Service can be hit or miss in there. I feel like the workers aren't getting paid a lot so that checks. That being said, I've had some servers who were great. Bottom line, if you're like me and love experience over food quality then give it a go.

Walked in at about 7:20pm and got into the reservation line and walked around the shopping center for about 30 minutes until our table was ready. We were seated quickly after we arrived. Server was very polite and helpful and checked in on us for drinks several times. Location was very busy so plates on the conveyor were quickly picked off but also quickly refilled. Orderers made with the table side touchscreen we’re delivered with in 10 minutes, sometimes as quickly as 2 minutes. Food was very fresh and delicious. Check out by phone was quick and easy. The only issue I have was the very strong smell on cleaning supplies when entering. We quickly became nose blind so the smell wasn’t as much of an issue after some time. Overall it did not detract from the overall excitement of eating at the restaurant itself but it was rather unpleasant.

I've been here many times and I love the variety of sushi on the conveyor belt. I recommend visiting on a weekday as there isn't a wait. Weekends are always very busy and you have to wait quite a while for a table, but you can check in ahead of time on the app and save some time. My most recent visit was on a Tuesday evening and my friend and I were able to walk right in and get a table right away. The sushi was good and I love the robot bringing out water and wasabi. That is always cute. 🤖 There were plenty of choices of sushi and we had a nice variety. My only one minor complaint was the tamago was ice cold (the egg on top). It tasted like it had been thawed feom a freezer. That was disappointing. All the other sushi was nice though. Waitstaff was quick to come to the table when I needed anything. My friend really enjoyed it. This most recent visit was her first time here. I'll definitely be back. 🍣

Fun experience. Food was average quality. You can grab whatever comes around on the belt for 3.50 a plate, or order from the tablet. Plates can add up quickly. Miso soup was overly salty.

It's a really fun place to take your kids, just be ready to spend. The sushi after runs out on the conveyor belt but your you can also order specific dishes on the screen. The plate counter keeps enticing you to eat more plates by playing little fun videos and spitting out prizes. The kids are definitely into it. However the sushi taste is very so so. Just a fun experience for once in a while.

This was my first time experiencing this type of restaurant, and I really enjoyed it. Sadly, though, there came a moment where all the trays coming to us were empty for like 15+ minutes straight. It was a fun experience, but I won't be coming back. Also, you are able to place an order on a small screen, but it won't have everything on the menu.

While prices continue to rise, the food quality has noticeably declined compared to previous visits. The hand roll was very hollow and poorly filled. Pointed this out to the server and showed the food, but no explanation or compensation was offered. Additionally, many items are no longer available on the touch display, including the Golden Crunchy Roll and the Spicy Salmon Crunchy Hand Roll.
