Tip: The onigiri is super filling and affordable. Try the tuna mayo rice ball, but avoid the fried soft shell crab.

Opinions de Snow Ball Rice Ball Austin
I’ve been here a couple times when I’m in the 99 Ranch area and the rice balls here are always consistently made and the portion sizes for the meat to rice ratio isn’t bad either. Pretty fast service even when it’s full of people.
I came here on a date with my wife discovered the absolute glory that is this place the Tuna mayo Rice ball i had was to die for! I wasn't expecting the rice to be semi hot but that just made it all the more delightful!
I absolutely love this place!! the people that work there are so nice, i really enjoyed this one woman’s vibe in particular, she was dancing to the music and just really positive. the food was great too. i had the shrimp rice ball with light mayo, the bacon avocado the first time i went was great too. highly recommend!!
The bingsu here was incredible. I ordered the Oreo flavor in a small, and honestly, I regret it — only because I should’ve gone bigger! I ate it right there, and it was so good that I actually came back later the same day before leaving Austin (I was visiting on a trip). The restrooms could use a bit of improvement, but aside from that, everything else was great. Some of my family and friends tried other flavors, but this review is about my experience — and mine was fantastic. The employees were friendly, and the place has a relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for grabbing a snack and chilling for a bit. Overall, an awesome experience. I’d definitely stop by again.
A Perfectly Refreshing Dessert Spot! After enjoying an Italian dinner, we decided to stop by this Asian dessert spot, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice! The four of us shared an Assorted Fruit Bingsu, and it was absolutely delicious. This beautifully presented treat consists of finely shaved ice, fresh fruit, and syrup, all arranged in a large cup—perfect for sharing. The texture of the ice was incredibly light and refreshing, and the fruit added a natural sweetness that balanced the flavors perfectly. It was the ideal cold dessert to cleanse the palate and hit the spot after a hearty meal. If you’re looking for something new and delightful, definitely give this place a try—you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Highly recommend! We’ll definitely be back.
Came here for the first time. We ordered the mango smoothie and the strawberry banana smoothie. Decent price for the size that we got. Both were very delicious. The mango literally tasted like the Haden mangoes that I've missed from Hawaii that you can't find here. Whatever they did to make it taste identical, they did an amazing job. Staff are fast and friendly. The parking lot is huge and shared with other establishments.
Snow Ball Rice Ball is a wonderful place to grab a quick bite or beverage. Their menu features delectable rice balls, known as Onigiri, that are filled with mouth-watering ingredients, as well as rice rolls. Onigiri or rice ball can be described as balls of rice that are typically filled with savory and flavorful ingredients. From this basic form, they can be enhanced by being wrapped in nori, which is dried seaweed, or dressed in black sesame seeds and various other seasonings. Onigiri can also be grilled to give them a delicious smoky flavor. Additionally, Snow Ball Rice Ball offers an extensive drink selection, ranging from teas, boba and smoothies. During my visit, I indulged in the grilled salmon rice ball, spiced tuna rice roll, spicy salmon rice roll, and shrimp rice ball, accompanied by a refreshing mango bubble tea (my all-time favorite). The freshness and quality of the food, as well as the made-to-order drinks, were exceptional. My husband and i chose combo 1 and 2 and an unagi premium roll. In one word, the food was awesome! If you're on the lookout for a charming food joint, or like me, craving some seriously delicious Onigiri, then Snow Ball Rice Ball is definitely worth a visit! To top off the meal, I also had the mango bingsu as dessert. In Korea, Bingsu is a classic dessert that is particularly popular during the summer season. This sweet treat consists of finely shaved ice that is infused with a variety of delicious flavors, including milk, chocolate, and yogurt. I loved it so much that I forgot to take pictures. It was that yummy!
One of the top spots at the crescent for a quick lunch or cold beverage. The rice balls/rolls are tasty and two will fill you up fine. Some flavors are better than others however, like the cucumber roll was filled with cheap pickles with no distinct taste (a cucumber is not a cucumber after it's been pickled, c'mon!!) The bobateas and bingsu can be great depending on the day, because they unfortunately also suffer from cheap shortcuts such as strawberries still being frozen hard or boba pearls melted hot together. The atmosphere is leaning modern gen z tastes and the place is clearly run by kids/young adults doing their best. But it's impossible to give an A to a place that doesn't go to the effort to get cucumbers over pickles 😔(or just change the item name to pickle, be honest!)
First time visit, we had combo #1 for about $15, includes a boba for an additional $1, Large Boba drinks, either rice roll or ball, both are good, fair price and fast service. My daughters liked it, it's in a shopping mall with other Asian establishments, great variety of Asian food .
Nice places to sit, well filled rice balls and professional employees make this eatery a good time. The tuna mayo rice ball is not a small one (about 3 inches across and 1 1/2 inches deep) and it had plenty of seasoned tuna on the inside and tons of toppings on the outside. The store and bathrooms were clean and well maintained despite being busy and close to closing time. I would visit here again.
A seemingly odd assortment of specific Asian fusion snack and dessert options with kind of a cute name. A weird sample platter of Japanese rice balls (onigiri) and filled fish shaped cake (taiyaki) , Korean shaved ice desserts (bing su), smoothies and boba. The fusion rice balls are tasty enough. The mango boba was very sweet and the tapioca balls could be softer. The combo's are a good deal. The guy taking our order at the counter was cheerful and nice. Not really a full meal / family dinner place. This place is more like a pretty good snack / hang out place. There are a lot of large tables and a good amount of space to hang out with friends. Parking is difficult with the shared lot with all the other restaurants and 99 Ranch.
We stopped by this little onigiri and shaved ice establishment on a whim after perusing the surrounding stores. I can only speak to the taste and quality of the rice-ball. It was perfectly adequate—freshly and well-cooked rice, ample seasoning, and plenty of filling. It was good, but nothing especially groundbreaking flavor-wise.
I enjoyed their onigiri spicy tuna. The flavoring is nice and have a good amount of filling. I also tried their shrimp onigiri. It is good but not enough shrimp in my opinion. Don’t get their fried soft shell crab. The last time I had it, it was not fresh and the crab was fried a long time ago. Their shaved ice with mango is delicious and more Korean style but pricey. I usually ordered online for pick up because their wait time can be long.
Went yesterday and thought it was snowy village, especially what was suggested when trying to locate this place But not busy mid Monday as I got the beef, fried chicken and pork belly rice balls. The chicken was gross especially with that sauce, saved it for last because I didn't want to ruin my appetite. The beef and pork belly were amazing, I really enjoyed the texture and if I had known they were that good I would have avoided the fried chicken one. Definitely don't care for the drink options and they don't offer any type of soda like majority restaurants next to them. Still good for most part
I have no complaints about the food. It is tasty however, every time I have gone as well as every time friends have gone it isn’t the greatest for the bowels. I’ve gone a few times. I took my friend a few times very tasty it might just be me and my friends but day after is like I took laxatives almost
I use to love Snoball Riceball but in the past year their food and service quality has taken a massive noticeable nosedive. Their staff is rude, plain and simple. They hate working there and act like taking your order is the bane of their existence. I've tried to strike up conversation to be friendly, im instantly ignored. I don't say anything, I'm being treated like im rude. God forbid I pay money for good and services at a job you decided to work. Their food has also taken a nosedive. Their taiyaki use to be cut in half and you'd get two slices that were warm and buttery and full of nutella but now you get two whole pieces with a thin line on top. And they increased the price! Why! Why am I paying more for less. The taiyaki I got today was EMPTY inside, genuinely how is this allowed. I feel like such a burden and a pig for daring to go somewhere because I like their food and I wanna pay my hard earned money for it, I've started to go less and less and practically never at all now when I use to frequent this spot. I'm not gonna pay more money for worse food and to get glared at by the staff for walking through the door.
Happened to pass by for a quick dessert but expectations of the Bingsu is not the same as what I thought it was, the cheesecake Bingsu is not as tasty as it was recommended. And the Mango isn’t as fresh and so dark colored. The price is expensive too and presentation isn’t appealing. Moreover, the cheesecake and the ice are all ice blended together. For the same price, I could get better and tastier ones. Hope they will make better improvements.
