We stopped here for dinner and had a great experience. Staff was so friendly and attentive. We ordered the street tacos. Tip: order 4 tacos and get rice and beans. We tried 8 different and all were so good. There are several vegetarian options as well. We got a pitcher of margaritas which were fab!!
My wife and I loved every bite at El Patrón! The views from the patio were beautiful, service was fast & friendly, and our food was incredible!! We highly recommend the esquites app, chipotle beef tacos, and of course the birria. We will be back!
The food, service, staff - everything here was incredible. They were very accommodating to an allergy in our party. The owner checked in at least 3 times during our meal. We cannot wait to go back! The street corn was the best I've ever eaten. It was so incredibly good. The mocha flan was delicious as were the fajitas. We really enjoyed the margarita flight, it was very fun to try a few flavors.
We ended up here for a last minute dinner before a concert. Very delicious food and wonderful service.
My daughter and I came to El Patron Tequileria for the first time this afternoon and had delicious meals for lunch! It is a very cute restaurant and Desiree was our wonderful server. We both loved the chips and salsa and our chicken fajitas and chicken quesadillas! I plan to bring my husband here soon. (I was a little bit disappointed there was no iced tea on the menu, so I hope you add it to the drink menu soon.)
Cute restaurant with great service and food. Ample seating available for small or large groups. Parking by meter on the street or nearby lots. The place is uniquely decorated with excellent lighting and descriptive menus. The specials and happy hour seem to be a great idea for business people or tourists in the area. Great vegetarian options available! Recommend giving them a try!
Very good fresh made to order Mexican fare. All food tried in two visits equally well done and savory. Queso Rico served on some plates is definitely a great addition to the taste experience. Salsa served with chips is especially tasty. Large selection of custom made margaritas. Not cheap but all tried were excellent. Facility well done with a cozy feel for one or groups. Staff all very attentive and friendly helping to enhance the dining/drinking experience.
Good food, service, drinks, and atmosphere. Clean facilities. Salsa was a bit salty for my taste but otherwise it was good. Wasn't too busy even around 5-6pm on a weekend. Prices are a bit high but you get good quality. Takeout np. Fair customer service.
I only give 3 for atmosphere because the taco truck just posted up, and we took it home to eat. Food was delicioso 😋 por supuesto. Took about 10 minutes because it was made to order and very fresh. Guacamole was soooo fresh and flavorful. I got the birria tacos and the birria sauce was a little too salty, but still yummy. We tried the chicken and steak Too, and they were very flavorful and savory as well. Me Encanta.
Smashing. I loved the coliflor taco. The calabaza and elote potato (with purple potatoes!) tacos were quite proper as well. The service from my waitress was uniquely beneficial as she was also the bartender and personally handcrafted my Don Julio Añejo margarita flight beautifully. I literally could not have asked for a better selection. Also the pinto beans were exquisite. That with the delicately fried tortilla chips and rice were very much needed after my Don Julio was romanticized. It all was so delightful, I forgot to order dessert. #MargaritaFlightDestination **Also, I Love how they’ve added the option of flour tortillas to the “street tacos.“
WOW! Absolutely fantastic experience from the moment we walked in. Ben, our server, was great. Relaxed, low key, and very professional. The food and the flights were ridiculously good. I’ve spent time in Mexico and this food was VERY authentic. Sorry about the photo, but the point was that my wife and I were both members of the clean plate club, which is rare. Five stars all around!
I've heard so many great things about this place and it definitely lived up to the expectations! There wasn't even the slightest complaint from anyone. I got the 3 taco combo (choose 3 tacos of your choice with a side of rice). The chorizo was my favorite of all of them! The drinks were all so good! Not sure what I had because the drink i chose, they were out of some of the ingredients so they mixed and matched. Can't wait to go back! Great food, drinks, atmosphere, & service!
I get the veggie street Tacos and the sauce they put on it it amazing & love the way they season and grill the mushrooms! I Always get a jarritos, their chips and salsa is seriously good. The Mexican rice and Pinto Beans I could eat all day. This time I got churros with dulce de Leche. 10 out of 10! Their Dolce de Leche isn't overly sweet. It's the perfect balance between sweet and salty. This was my second time going and I will be going back.
Most peaceful roof top in downtown Akron. The I love the smooth and elegant interior and exterior. Food is as if I was in Mexico eating on the beach. Best Mexican food available in Akron. Delectable food and wonderful top notch customer service. Everyone smiling and enjoying the food and the Oro Margaritas was full of flavor and bold with tequila. Thanks for perfect lunch⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you're in downtown Akron this is a great spot for good Mexican food. Service was a bit slow but it was during lunch rush on the day of the Akron Pride fest. Our server was new but very attentive & friendly. Food was delicious & reasonably priced. Decor is gorgeous & there's an option of sitting outside which would be great if there was something going on downtown. The only suggestion I would have is some kid choices on the menu.
Such a nice little resturant. Felt chic and intimate. Had the street tacos and they were all phenomenal as well as their drinks. The staff was so friendly and nice. Not enough good things to say. Will definitely be back!
There are many good things to say about this establishment. The service was prompt, and the food came out quickly! I tried 4 a la carte street tacos and they all had different seasonings, toppings and flavors. My husband got the Barbacoa burrito. To our surprise, the side vegetables were flavored in such a way that he ate those first because it was so good. The burrito had a sauce that was not too much not too little, but just right. Overall you can tell they put a lot of thought in their dishes and how they are flavored and seasoned, so each dish is unique- which I feel is hard to find nowadays in Mexican restaurants. Very impressed, and will be back again, and totally worth the cost
Extremely friendly staff and great food! You can tell the food is freshly made and good quality unlike some other places. Loved the salsa and the margarita flight. Will be returning, 10/10!
I had a great time here celebrating my best friends Birthday!! The atmosphere is nice and chill the food was delicious 😋 and the service was Excellent!! I love how one of the drink menus had drinks named after Drake Songs 🎵 I love Drake ❤️ And what a coincidence our Server name was Drake he was so polite professional and Fun!! I will definitely come back!!
I highly recommend visiting El Patron in the summer and sitting on the roof patio. It provides a nice view of downtown and plenty of shaded seating. There's even a portion of the patio that has a comfortable outdoor furniture sectional under the shade. The tacos are delicious and flavorful. The Mahi Mahi, shrimp, elote and chicken are my favorites. The passionfruit Margherita is very refreshing and delicious as well. The service and atmosphere are also wonderful.
Such a perfect Monday night spent @patrontequileria in Akron, OH on the roof top. I love their extensive gluten free taco menu. And the chips and salsa with the agave berry guac is over the top delicious! 🤤 Bri and Chloe were incredible waitresses that took such great care of my boys and I! Such kind people and so much fun! We can’t wait to come back 🫶 We LOVE Mexican cuisine, so I’m just going to say it… @patrontequileria is the best Mexican food in OHIO!
We dined here this past Saturday evening during a weekend away in Akron. We walked a block from our hotel, BLU-Tique, which was super convenient! On this night they only offered outdoor dining on their rooftop patio which was perfect for such a beautiful evening. The patio is perfect for a romantic date night as we were celebrating our anniversary. Our spicy pineapple jalapeno margaritas were very good! I also ordered a paloma which was so refreshing and complimented my dinner! My barbacoa burrito was beyond delicious! The lamb was super tender! My husband loved his street tacos and commented that they reminded him of the tacos in San Juan del Rio where he has spent a lot of time working. What a great find!
First of many visits! In a great location, right near the John S Knight center and art museum. The drinks we ordered arrived quickly and were nice and strong. We ordered the fish and Barbacoa tacos, both were really good. Very attentive staff who checked in on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. :) definitely will be back!
I would give 6 stars if I could! Tremendous value, fantastic traditional dishes, excellent staff! The atsmophere is Amazingly comfortable atmosphere that is both welcoming and intimate. Luis and his team are killing it! Get here soon before the word gets out and you're waiting in a line around the corner!
Such an amazing addition to bring downtown Akron back to life. Amazing interior and outstanding exterior vibe. Food was great. Margs were wonderful. Will 1000% be back.
Amazing authentic Mexican with the chef from Peru. The bar waitress was amazing. Great service. The salsa was medium spicy. They have a mild hibiscus tea. Choice of corn or flour tortilla. I would go back.
My wife and I are first timers at this location, but have been to the Seville one numerous times. We enjoy Mexican foods and my wife is especially a fan. Our meal was absolutely fantastic. The service time was quick and the staff is pleasant, smiling, engaging and hustling. Luis and Bianca who came to our table to welcome us as the owners are tremendous. We absolutely loved everything and will be back to both locations over and over. Thank you for making it a great evening.
All fresh, hand crafted margs. Street tacos flavors are terrific. We enjoyed the Pescado, Tinga de Pollo and Camerones Street Tacos.
Service was fantastic. Waitress was amazing and super nice. Great place. Will come back. My daughter gave it a 10/10 on the cheese
I was really happy to treat a first date here. The staff was so cool and encouraged us to relax awhile after meal. I had two different seafood tacos and they were absolutely bomb!!!
El Patron has really great food, maybe the best Mexican cuisine in the Akron area. The atmosphere is friendly and in good weather has an outdoor patio with a great view. Some of the best value for the money in the area.
This place is excellent!! Im not from the area but happened to be in Akron for the holidays and wow were the tacos delicious!! Awesome vegetarian options and the sauces are amazing! Better taco places than the ones in bigger cities!! Will be making the trips here specially for this! Highly recommend!! The drinks were awesome too!
Been here a number of times. Always good. Best outdoor patio in Akron. Great sunset view. Jaime is a great server/bartender. Good margaritas. Barbacoa is the bomb. Just add a Sauvignon Blanc! And a few more wine choices.
Food was pretty legit, I'm a güero from California so it's always nice to see Cochinita Pibil on a menu in the Midwest! Lots of tequila too, a little expensive for Mexican food, but they're going for upscale here. Everyone thought the salsa was delish but a little too salty
I’m giving this a 4 because my beef enchiladas were so delicious. My family also enjoyed their food. The waiter was the unpleasant part of the experience. I had questions about the different enchiladas and it turns out the menu descriptions weren’t correct. He was just curt with me and was apparently oblivious to the fact that the menu was wrong. He couldn’t really describe the margarita flights that I was interested in so I just ordered a classic. It was small and watered down. I suspect they make them ahead of time. Not great. The hostess who greeted us was very pleasant. Could have been a 5 star with better drinks and a waiter who was polite.
Very nice restaurant good vibes good tacos. I did not think the drinks were very strong. Very good service will return.
This is a cool place as far as atmosphere goes. The food is very good! The service needs some work. They were understaffed when we went and our appetizer got mixed up with the take next to us. Service was very slow. Other than that everything was great. We have been here twice and both times service was not very fast. If you go here to eat leave yourself plenty of time.
Enjoyed a nice sized shrimp burrito. Excellent taste. Nice presentation. I absolutely loved their pickled vegetables. They tasted fresh and homemade. The rice was good but a bit tasteless. The problem is the descriptions of all of the dishes were oriented towards people who knew what the ingredients were. Even when you ask about something the answer was in terms that may not be familiar to you. The server was very great and responsive though. My other issue is they don't serve iced tea and we're out of regular coffee.
Nice place downtown to try out. This was our 1st time at 1st glance restaurant looks small but its pretty big and has a rooftop, can't wait for the warm weather to try. We hard tacos and they were just ok not much flavor. The salsa is spicy but chips are good. We had the flight margaritas which were pretty good but I feel had to much sour in the sangria one. Service was fast and they were all nice. All in all we will be back in the summer to see atmosphere on the rooftop.
I’ve been there for lunch and tried veggie burrito 🌯 but was not impressed that much like other Mexican restaurants. Average good 👍. Staff and service were great.
The California burrito here is served as a wet burrito. Unfortunately i didn't read the ingredients since the name of the burrito on the menu is called a California burrito. That's like ordering a pepperoni pizza and then getting spaghetti. Overpriced Mexican food. Not impressed.
For the price we were not impressed with the food. The salsa for the chips was so spicy that no one was able to enjoy it. I had the street tacos and i have to say they were just sub par not a lot flavor and again way over spiced even though i asked for mild. Everyone at the table agreed that the food was way to spicy to meet their taste. The waitress was wonderful and very good on taking care of us. If you like really spicy mexican maybe this place is for you but all of table of 5 would not be going back here anytime soon.
6:30 dinner reservation. We had a show to go to at 8:00. After we were seated for 20 minutes, I had to ask for a waitress to order since no one came to our table. Food arrived at 8:00. Of course, this made us extremely late. It appeared to be understaffed. I would have given a lower rating, but it seemed like our table enjoyed their food.
The salsa was just salt. The chips were ok. Fish taco was dry & not flavorful. The corn was good but like the rest, overpriced. Not a good value. I don't see us visiting this restaurant again.
Maybe I am not a huge fan but my boyfriend and I did not enjoy how small it was. For a street taco that costs $9 and is this tiny? Absolutely not. Instead of a flower tortilla (like normal) it was corn tortillas, had a strong disgusting flavor. Our waitress only came up to us twice to get our order of drinks and food. I had to ask someone for the check after 20 mins of waiting. We also did not get a drink order. It’s like she disappeared. First walking in , it was really beautiful , clean, and smelled amazing!! Bonus rating! The Queso was so tiny for $6 bucks. It tasted good but didn’t realize it was so tiny.
I stopped off here on my way home at 7:38pm, ordered a lengua combo with a side of pico de gallo to-go, paid $19.49 without tip included because I tip cash when I receive my food, and I sat at the bar at 7:46pm and waited until 7:59pm to ask if my to-go order was ready. I was given a bag with a good amount of casera salsa in a cup, a bag of salted masa tortilla chips, and a steamed round container of what I assumed was 3 lengua tacos with cilantro, a slice or two of lime, a tiny cup of pico de gallo, and a tiny cup of sour cream. I was Wrong. It was 3 ground beef filled fried harina tortillas topped with lechuga y crema con pedacitos de tomate encima de arroz naranjado con Goya y duro, no esta toda cocinado, pero faltando vegetales... No pico de gallo, No lengua, Fried flour tortilla, Ground beef, (well flavored, tad salty,, not overcooked) Sour cream in and on the side, and rice that is under cooked, under prepared, but over seasoned. I am insulted, and sad. I don't know if it is because I didn't tip outright, or because they didn't actually have lengua, but at least give me pico de gallo if I paid $3.36 for it. I didn't want salsa casera. I wanted salsa fresca.
The only good thing at this place is how strong the drinks are. I came here for date night and we made reservations for 6:30 but somehow it was changed to 7? Which doesn’t make sense and while we were waiting for a table 3 other parties came in and were sat immediately. The hostess/waiters were not very pleasant. The food is also overpriced for a meal that wasn’t even that good.
Overall this establishment has potential to be semi-decent some day, will however need a lot of work in a multitude of areas. Positives: Drink selection, location Negatives: 1. Before we had finished dining, we were approached and asked to hurry up and leave as they wanted to seat another party at our table. When this was raised with the owner, he appeared defensive and we were met with excuse after excuse before we were offered anything close to a sincere apology. Do not be surprised if this restaurant's poor planning and scheduling somehow falls back on the shoulders of you, the guest. 2. Flies in the restaurant. Need I say more? 3. You are in essence paying for the atmosphere. Food is nothing special, if anything on the blander side. Mexican cuisine is known for its bold, vibrant flavors, all of which are woefully absent in the food here.
DO NOT!!! Order the classic tequila flight! They’re straight trash!! All sugar and taste disgusting and they use blanco espolon tequila ewwww. This is the first time in a long time, I’ve actually had a bad margarita and I love margaritas. We took a sip out of each one.. paid and left. Plus The energy was off with the bartenders also.. felt like neither didn’t wanna be there upstairs and downstairs. I’ll never come back. Picture was before we tasted them.
We got there around 6:40 PM and got sat almost immediately. The restaurant didn’t appear to be busy. We ordered our food and proceeded to wait for over an hour to get 4 meals (I only mention that to emphasize it’s not that we ordered a ton of food). During that hour our server seemed to be mostly ignoring us only stopping by twice and never mentioning the long wait. We eventually got her attention to get refills. (She still didn’t mention the wait at around 40 minutes). At the hour mark we found the hostess to ask what was going on and she said they had a large party (I think she said downstairs). We then asked for an estimate and they said it should be under 20 minutes. After waiting a little longer we were about to leave (it was past our toddlers bedtime at this point) We were standing up when they brought out our food. We asked for our checks right away after that. We had a party of 6(1 being a toddler splitting a meal with me and my parents who were splitting a meal) . They then told us that they by default for large groups add in a 20% gratuity. The whole experience was very sub par.
