Tiny restaurant but with wonderful food, it get crowded very fast, parking is small too but definitely will anyone to try it
Today we tried lunch at the Shaka Shack for the first time, and we will definitely be back. They were busy when we arrived, but we had time to hang out and the food was worth the wait. The crew was nice and personable. We wound up chatting with other customers. They surprised both our tables with complementary Malasadas which were delicious. Everything was delicious.
Super friendly staff! Great service! And 💯 percent AUTHENTIC Hawaiian food! We Went there for late lunch yesterday. My daughter tried the Poke Bowl, and I tried the Hawaiian Chili over rice 🍚. Words cannot describe the flavors and amount of goodness packed into these bowls. They even threw in a free MALASADAS to try. That was just so good. Please do yourself a favor and give this establishment a try. You will not be disappointed. We will be back soon! 🤙🏽
Loved this place and the food was so good!! I'm lucky it's located in Alameda, not too far away. Spam musubies were on point, as well as that ube waffle and pog mimosa! I will definitely be trying everything on the menu. Atmosphere was great and warped me back to my time in the islands.
Small cafe with 14 indoor seats and about a dozen outdoor seating. Food is delicious. Loco moco is flavorful and not overly salty as many other places have gravy that is just too salty. Kalua pork is tender and flavorful as well. Chili bowl was hearty and warming for a cold day. Many tables ordered malasadas. Will try that next time.
They play really nice music and greet everyone when they come in and even give fresh Portuguese doughnuts away on certain days. The drinks are very refreshing and unique. Great spot to come in the morning.
I’ve been coming here for the last three days trying everything on their menu and I gotta say that everything that I’ve tried so far is really good. Thank you for delivering many delicious meals and desserts
Great vibes, good food, and very kid friendly, as the owners have young kids themselves. The live music on Sundays on the patio is great. Cobb salad with lava chicken was a large portion & delicious.
What a great a new Hawaiian spot in the former Little House Cafe building. We really enjoyed the loco moco, lava chicken, poke bowl, and mango malasada. If it's rainy, be prepared to wait the inside is pretty small. The workers were also gracious in letting us split the side dishes and poke so we could try everything.
Super cute new spot with high quality food. I love the banana foster dish and the poke is perfectly seasoned. It’s also a great spot to just grab a cup of coffee on the go. Super excited to have this kind of place in Alameda.
Super cute little place. Will definitely be going there the next time I'm out here again.

This business opened very recently, about 3 weeks ago, so it was a must try. Got Kai’s plate with Kalua pork and an Ube malasada. Both were pretty tasty and will definitely make my way back. I also loved the decor and friendliness of the workers, it definitely brought me back to Hawaii for a hot minute 🥲

Shaka Shack is an absolute gem for breakfast. I came here this morning and everything was amazing from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care; you can tell they don’t cut corners here. Portions were generous, ingredients tasted high-quality, and every bite hit the mark. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, exactly what you want for a great breakfast spot, and the service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed. This is the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood and makes you want to come back again (and again). If you’re in Alameda and looking for a top-tier breakfast, Shaka Shack is a must-try. Highly recommend.
A humble venue...a "shack" indeed, however, the culinary fare and execution thereof far exceeded the "casualness" of this site! My inaugural visit was prompted by live music performers...situated al fresco in the patio dining area. The weather indeed cooperated which exacted a superlative dining experience. Pictured are variations of Hawaiian Loco Moco fare: Stella's Kalbi Rib and Big Kahuna Burger Patty. Not pictured are Ahi Poke Bowl and Malasadas variations. Our menu items were consistent in exemplary flavor and presentation. Also noteworthy was the customer service orientation! What is particularly significant is how this business optimized its space to provide customers with the ultimate ALOHA experience. We shall be enthusiastically returning to patronize this establishment which obviously caters to its customers across the board! AND parking is conveniently located!
This place is right out of Hawaii. We had the Kalua pork hash, mochi waffles, Mac nut waffle and these see fried donuts with some kind of custard. Kids loved it, we loved it. Watched some surf videos and listened to jack johnson. Great spot and will be back
The malasadas were so good! & best moco loco :) Staff is super sweet and friendly. Made me miss Hawaii <3

Delicious food! Spam reminded me of my childhood! ♥️ Portuguese sausage is wonderful! Huge portions! Friendly service! Great outdoor patio!
Would love to see this place thrive as it has good vibes. I had a great experience but can't help but feel it could easily be better. Service when I visited was very slow and it was hard to find a spot to sit. Loved the live music, but please turn off the radio so there are not 2 songs playing simultaneously . Some of the dishes could use an extra element to take them to the next level. For example the loco moco is overwhelmingly heavy and could use pickled onions or something to brighten it up. The gravy also tasted odd, maybe using too many burnt bits. The Hawaiian French toast was awesome but a bit dry, and I had to ask for butter and syrup. Would be great with vanilla ice cream or some kind of sauce to tie together the loose buns sitting sparsely on the plate. Maybe I just chose the wrong items? Will be back eventually to try the malasadas.
Cute little “shack” spot in the corner. They only have 13 tables. 5 inside and 7 outside in their patio. Make sure to find a table first then order inside. Entrance is on the sidewalk side. I accidentally almost entered through the back where the parking lot is lol. We shared the big kahuna loco moco which is perfect for two. I wanted to try alittle bit of each meat options they had and knew I wouldn’t be able to finish it all. The hamburger patty and kalua pork was really tasty and good. I think the sausages were kinda overcooked though. My ube matcha latte looked nothing like the picture but was still very good. The ube Malasada was just ok. It could’ve used more filling. Overall it was pretty good and I’d most likely come back to try other stuff!
The food here is legit. Tastes like you would find in Hawaii, and good. Staff is very engaging and they have a good selection of items. The restaurant itself is very small. A couple of tables indoors, outdoor seating when it's available and a modest parking lot. Just be aware it might be better too to get takeout and try to sit if it's crowded.

3.5 stars Sat inside, simple decor. No music no tv, no ambient sound.. just cooks and staff chatting/flirting. Wasn't terrible, just weird. Food was good, but expensive for actual quality of ingredients. Waffles themselves are boring, but toppings make it. Cobb salad is a very weirdly composed dish, but still good. Moco locos are obviously a well executed dish. Little House was great but also kinda weird, and keeping Alameda weird is wonderful.
Came here with my close friend, not sure if this was an off day, but the food was alright. Had the loco moco and I think there was old rice so a little disappointed. The ube malasada was very delicious and I will be coming back to try the other flavors. Mac latte was def worth it as well.

They charge $1 more for iced lattes than regular lattes. Does ice really cost $1? The coffee I ordered was too sweet.
