Good place went there for lunch on a Saturday, it wasn't crowded, the portions are not that big but they are satisfying, and tasty. They play colombian music or any other variety, it wasn't that loud. the bathrooms are clean, no parking lot. The place is nicely decorated with colombian flags and paraphernalia. There are a bunch of sapo games you can play. For a fee.

The food was good, could’ve been better. The waiters took wayyy too long bringing two orange juices. But overall the service was good. Overall I enjoyed my time but it can always improve.

The overall experience is good. Just improve a bit more El Caldo de Costilla and we got the orange juices right after we finished the food. So it took too long. Other than that it was delicious. Thanks.

We were appealed by no reason when we passed by and just ordered a takeout to give it a try. The decor is cool and fancy with lively & cozy ambiance. There is a great variety of options on the menu and we got their Tamal Tolimense and Mini Picadas to share with a group of two. The portion is more than enough with reasonable price. We love their Tamal, which was soft & flavorful. However, we are not fans of most of the food in picadas.

Well, we got there the place looks welcoming. When we order our food that's when the atmosphere started changing. For starters the waitress was on her phone texting and gave us an attitude when we asked what was a good recommendation she could give us. She basically said everything was good. We were like ok well thank you and we order what we wanted and looked good to eat. We literally waited 30 to 40 min for our appetizers. Then another 30 min for our food. Appetizers were ok cold but we were like ok let's give it a chance they could be busy. Then our drinks were ok too nothing special. The waitress got mad and I know she did when I asked for another drink and for us to take the food. We ended up leaving because it just made it more uncomfortable. I hope in the future customer services become better and also the food. The seasoning was alright can't deny that it tasted delicious some of the meat. Maybe perhaps if the people working there have a different attitude or if they are not feeling alright, not to attend customers because they don't need that same vibe or making them feel uncomfortable. Will give it another try, but maybe in a later time.

The waitresses aren't trained to standards or professionalism. How is it possible that they serve you an appetizer of chicharron with guacamole and don't give you a serving utensil or bring plates for the appetizer? I had to force-feed it with a fork and knife. Even funnier was the waitress's response when I asked for the appetizer plates: she told me the customer has to ask for them 🤣🥳. Another funny thing is that one of the waitresses served a lemonade over my head, behind my back, like she does at home 🤣. In my humble opinion is that service/Quality of food should go hand in hand. The food is tasty but over-seasoned. The beans are just pure caldo, very poor in beans; you have to fish out the frijoles, they serve you a plate of carne asada,the steak right on top of the beans. Why don't they serve the beans separately? It seems the owner is looking out for the business🥳 and has a lot of faith in his employees 🤓. Now, the concept of the Sapos, Domino, and Los Osos de peluche are great, but the service and food, they give you a lot to think abou ,I supposedly won a free hot Colombian coffee for a google review, and guess what,it was the most horrible coffee—cold, stale, what a disaster! Why not serve a fresh, hot Colombian coffee? Put the flag high, don't just use it for business.

I am going to place this review now before I forget. When it comes to service, no matter how nice the restaurant looks no matter how good the food can be bad service can kill everything. I mean, you have radio communication with the kitchen so you figure that should expedite. You did a very nice job with the renovation but always remember service with a smile and attentiveness is key to a successful operation! Thank you 🙏🏼

We came here all the way from NJ because of the ratings and reviews. We were very disappointed. The place was empty. We ordered empandas for us they were not authentic colombian. We Place the order for our food never came the waitress asked and apologized because the person that took our order was training that day. We waited 1 hour and the food tasted like it was sitting for a while the lechona was not tasty at all. My colombian platter was cold, We told the waitress she apologized she said I make sure they will remake our order but we knew it was just reheated. The place is more likely for adults not kids. We paid for the food we couldn't eat. We did not like the food not for our taste they offered us two free refreshments for making us wait. I'm a native colombian and I have so much better food.

I'd like to talk about the food first because I think it was the best thing about the place. It was definitely delicious, but unfortunately, the wait was very long, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. The waitress only came to take my order and when we were about to pay; the rest of the time she didn't pay any attention to our table. At the end of the evening, we paid and realized that an 18% "gratuity" charge had already been applied, which wouldn't have bothered me if the service had been adequate. I think if they're going to charge without warning, they should at least try to offer something better. I don't think I'd eat there again; maybe I'd order delivery because, as I mentioned, the food is very good.

I was very disappointed with my experience at La Tamaleria Colombiana. When I arrived, I had to wait a long time just to be seated—even though there was no line. Once inside, the restaurant had an unpleasant smell, like dirty mop water, which immediately made a bad impression. After being seated, I noticed the table was dirty and had not been adequately cleaned. I came specifically to try their tamales, but after all that waiting, I was told there would be an additional 40+ minute wait, even though there were only 4 tables with customers. When I asked if the tamales were not ready, the response was simply that they would still take up to 40 minutes to prepare. I traveled all the way from Brooklyn for this, and it felt like a complete waste of time. Poor organization, cleanliness issues, and extremely long waits made this a very frustrating experience. I won’t be returning.

I've heard of this place before, and I wanted to try it once. I live far away from there 😐 I came today at 12 pm and found the establishment messy and closed when they were supposed to be open after 11 am. We approached the place and someone just appeared from inside. We asked to be seated, and the person there turned back to speak with someone else in the kitchen - they were trying to decide if they were ready for us or not! I didn't understand any of it, I'm just very sad and disappointed. Please, everyone, don't waste your time!

I’ve been coming to this place since before COVID and usually order from here every few months, but this last experience was so bad I won’t be back. I ordered through Uber Eats and only half my food arrived. The driver clearly stated he was only given one bag instead of two. I tried calling the restaurant about 10 times with no answer. The only way I could reach them was through WhatsApp, and instead of trying to help, I was basically told “that’s not our problem, handle it with Uber Eats.” There was zero effort to offer a solution – no apology, no remake, no option to come pick up the missing food, nothing. Just denial and blaming Uber Eats. As a long-time customer, that response was really disappointing. I ordered 4 tamales in addition to 3 other items and didn’t get a single Tamale!!! This review is based solely on this experience, but for me, customer service matters as much as the food, and they completely failed on that today.

This is very bad bad bad. This restaurant just damaged our Christmas Gathering. We got a pork that was supposed to be cooked but when we sent the designated person to pick it up, it was uncooked. To top it up, the pork was filled with rice. It came with a big surprise. The pork was filled as it was supposed but with a nice surprise. The plastic bag was left inside. We cooked the pork for over five hours. Imagine all the toxic that there’s in this food now. Now, we have no food.

This is literally the WORST place to get a Colombian tamale. Instagram and TikTok hyped this place up so much, but the reality is that their food simply sucks. There are so many good Colombian restaurants in Queens and all throughout the city. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY COMING TO THIS PLACE. Believe me!! We came all the way from Brooklyn to try this place and immediately regret it after tasting their tasteless empanadas. Their tamales tasted were extremely soggy and had no texture. The meat was old and extremely dried (almost felt like they were boiled for several hours before serving it to us) 18% gratuity is automatically included in your bill. We will not be coming back here ever again.
