Opinions de Feng Ze Yuan Alameda
Went looking for some good food to bring to the beach to watch the sunset. Had heard good things about this restaurant, and I am so glad we tried it! The menu was so good we could barely choose what we wanted, the order was ready in less than 30 minutes, and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely come back when we're in the area!
Quality meats and FRESH seafood. Big portions and efficient service. Small /homey but great food!
It’s Christmas Eve, I’m sorry to say I had to (make people work on Christmas Day and) place an order because I was not in a position to cook dinner tonight. But I’m so grateful for the folks who open their restaurants for folks who want to give them business! While this place is your typical Chinese restaurant atmosphere, the dim sum is always dependably good and authentic! The people who work there are very respectable according to Chinese culture. If you’re looking for a trendy Americanized Asian restaurant, then you won’t appreciate this place for what it is. I love going to this place and I’ll keep going there and bringing my friends and family there as long as they’re in business!! Try to enjoy the dim sum and culture for what it really is!
Great local Chinese restaurant. Very authentic and tasty food! The people are very friendly.
This is our go to local Chinese place in SF. Excellent food, good variety including dim sum, and great value. Highlights include their black bean clams, their Peking duck, and their all day dim sum. The clientele is almost all locals and mostly Chinese, which is a great sign of the authenticity and quality of the cooking. Highly recommend if you are in the outer Richmond area.
8 out of 10 dishes are great, the beef stew with radish is a little bit disappointed due to the radish not soaked with enough sauce, and the pawn rice noodle rolls are not great due to the noodle rolls being a little too thick in comparison to the steamed short rib with noodle roll. However, I am very satisfied with the overall experience. Their dish is very fair compared to most Chinese restaurants in San Francisco that can present the similar experience.
Stopped here on Monday at 11am for dim sum and so glad we did! Place was surprisingly busy but we got a table right away. Server knew English and was very prompt. Ordered beef chang, chive and shrimp pan fried dumpling and steamed bbq pork buns. Food came out fresh and hot from the kitchen and we devoured it. Lots of filling and very good taste. Would prefer more star anise in beef chang but other than that, excellent. 4 stars as building is older and a bit run down but clean. All bills include 15 percent tip
Ordered take-out. The quality of the food was amazing. The chicken fried rice was tasty and not greasy. Claypot chicken was spiced perfectly. Chow fun tasty. HOT AND SOUR SOUP was the best I've had in many years!! Can't wait to eat it again.
If you like Chinese food and you like a LOT of choices on the menu, this restaurant is for you. The food is yummy and you won't be disappointed!
This local restaurant offers excellent service and the best steamed oysters with black bean sauce!
Super delicious food and great service. We dined in twice on our recent visit to the area. The food arrives freshly cooked, hot and made of really fresh ingredients. Try something in a clay pot or sizzling and the stir-fried Chinese broccoli with ginger is amazing.
The sign says 渝味馆but it’s totally misleading. The food is so traditional Cantonese! The new owner is a typical Cantonese guy a bit like my uncle, kind, honest, practical and funny. Strongly recommend the dish of Lamb stew 羊腩煲which is very delicious- I haven’t had such a taste for a long time. It’s so deep down in my memory, I have had it only in Guangzhou. The portion is generous 👍 I also like the fish dishes- one fish in two cooking methods. I think this is the best Chinese food I have had in San Francisco so far. Coming every year staying in China town for so many times, this restaurant gives me surprise! I would say coming 1 hour single trip is so much worth it!
The food and the all-day dim sum was great (Also glad they have the egg lava bun instead of only the egg yolk bun). The staff was very friendly and we stroke up a conversation together. The restaurant was pretty clean. Parking is limited because well — there is none; you have to use street parking, but that’s not unheard of in SF. If you go uphill apparently there’s more parking but we didn’t try that (yet).
Excellent dim sum restaurant! We visited on a Sunday right when they opened at 10:30. By 11 the restaurant was full. Wide range of options, we had a squab & an assortment of dumplings. You can’t go wrong. Everything was delicious. Fast & friendly service as well. Highly recommended!
Kind of in the middle of nowhere in the Richmond district but surprisingly busy on a Monday night. Went for my grandmother's birthday. The soup was very traditional. The egg white fried rice was very good - they did a good job with separating the egg whites unlike some places. Lobster with garlic was ok - garlic tasted like it was pre chopped from a jar and vermicelli fell apart too easily. The lettuce wraps and black bean clams we hadn't ordered in some time so definitely lived up to those memories.
Surprisingly great. Food was really good. Decent prices. Waiter was so sweet. Even though it said they closed at 8pm, people would still walk in at 7:55pm and be seated. We had dinner here - classic Cantonese dishes. Would definitely come back for dim sum.
My favorite dimsum spot in SF! They serve the best taste and freshness! Always so busy when you come in. Favorite dishes here are the lobster noodles, chicken feet, fish porridge, pan fried shrimp and chives and tripe!
Came with a group and seated quickly given we were there close to when they opened. Food was all pretty good though I found the shrimp dumpling to be on the saltier side. They had all the staple items and some renditions of classics which was nice. Overall, everyone left happy and full
Authentic Cantonese Dim Sum place with reasonable prices. Especially recommend the shrimp dumplings and stuffed tofu skin rolls. Not easy to find parking although. They automatically added 15% tip to your bill so please don’t double tipping.
Sunday dim sum. Ordering is by marking the quantity of each dish on the picture menu. Staff will pick up the menu and then provide a receipt of items ordered. Then as dishes are served to the table, the items are marked off. Large dim sum that was very good. Service is fine, though they are very busy.
I went with a bunch of friends so we were able to try a bunch of dishes, especially ones that catered to vegetarians. They have large photos on the walls and windows of some of their more popular dishes, and everything we choose was fresh and tasty. Some of them were light on salt, but that could be added for individual taste.
I had dim sum there with my family and the food was really good. We also ordered some dishes for take out, and they didn't disappoint us. I will recommend this place 👍🏻👍🏻

Terrific Dim Sum and other Cantonese dishes. We are particularly fond of a rather plain sounding dish, noodles with scrambled eggs and shrimp. Not plain at all. In spite of having to drive across town, this has become our go to Chineese restaurant.

Food is excellent, very reasonable price with good portions. Friend service , I will recommend the set dinner for family gatherings 👍
The food was very tasty though I would not say exceptional. A very busy dining room with lots of happy diners. Our server was efficient. The food was good and I would recommend the braised mushrooms with bok choy and soft tofu puffs. The stuffed lotus root dish was tasty but a bit dense and soggy. Overall a good place to stop for lunch if you're in the area.
We came here with my family. My mom loves their 'siu mai' especially. My dad loves the stream rice roll with shrimp. Portions are big and prices are much reasonable than other dim sum restaurants in Richmond area. They charge 15% tips (services charge) which automatically add up on your bill. The staff will remind you they already charged so you won't pay double (of course you can pay more if you like).
Feng restaurant has good roast duck, chicken noodles, and string beans with ground pork. Also the shrimps with cashews is good. My first time I tasted their food and I like everything I've eaten from them. Maybe I'll try it again next time I happen to be in the area. Good food.
Good food and good value. Exceeded expectations for it location.
Everything here is fresh, tasty, & generous! Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs…and we were hungry! We got chicken feet, chives/shrimp dumplings, oyster sauce chili Choi sum, dry beef chow fun. I really wanted some kind of harm ha dish but the over said they didn’t have it🤷🏻♀️. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. It was freezing cold in there and restroom was sketch. Otherwise…downhome spot for sure.
Good neighborhood restaurant. Nothing fancy, just good food and good service. If you are in the area try it. But, it's located in a residential area,so parking is difficult as only street parking is available.
We dropped in quite late, about 30 minutes before close and they still sat us and offered full menu. Really solid quality and flavors. Only one guy working front so we sat a while before ordering but no big deal! Nothing special ambiance wise, but classic setting for decent Chinese! We liked: - all the dim sum! Pork/shrimp in tofu skin was the favorite - green beans dish, nice flavor and texture - calamari, crispy and good seasoning Not as much: - Thai chili eggplant. It's super duper sweet Thai chili sauce and the portion was gargantuan (4 whole eggplants). First time trying it and it's quite a commitment if you don't end up liking it.
The food is great and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The dishes are large, tasty, and of good quality. I am.only giving 3 stars for atmosphere because the resto was super cold and although it was crowded and we were not near the door, we were COLD. Quite simply, they don't use any heating. So be warned.
Came here for banquet style meal. Total of about 14 courses for 14 people. 13/14 courses were spot on. I'd call that a win. Prices were reasonable. Standout dish was, of all things, salt and pepper pork chops. Perfectly executed which is key for a simple dish like this. Will be back to try out their dim sum.
Their dim sums and dishes are all good. I am not enthusiastic of rost pork buns but I really like theirs. Gotta try this one if you drop by next time. Their combo set B is also my favorite if you are a fan of sea food. There are several restaurants on the street. This one really stands out.
We are quite picky about Chinese food. We were impressed that this place has live turbot. We ordered it steamed and it was done to perfection. Sautéed green bean eggplant was excellent, one of the best. BBQ duck meet expectation. The restaurant also looks bright and clean. One star off for the very disappointing “peaking” styled spare rib. Yup, the menu printed “peaking” instead of Peking” 🤣🤣. This “peaking” styled didn’t taste anywhere like the Peaking styled I like.
Ugh, we overloaded on dim sum. Way too much for the 5 of us so plenty of leftovers! We’ve been here many times. This is a “go to” place for older Asians. Not sure why but it just is! Prices are decent for what you get and don’t forget to bring cash because they do not accept credit/debit cards! Also, no frill all the way, paper plates, disposable utensils and foam cups. We must have spilled tea at least 3 times since it was so easy to tip over.

Because of the good reviews, I decided to try this restaurant with friends. Upon arrival, we liked that it was easy to look for parking. The place was pretty packed. We had to wait a little longer, since we didn't want to share a table with other parties. There seemed to be more big tables in the restaurant than needed, so smaller groups could choose to share a big table with other people or wait. With this in mind, if you don't have more than six people, I would advise that you get to the restaurant when they open, or avoid eating there during lunch/dinner time. They may take reservations. The staff was courteous and efficient, although one staff gave us a dish we didn't order. The food was served promptly and tasted pretty good. The restaurant serves basic dim sum (nothing outstanding). If you are not looking for fancy dim sum, and you like big portions, this is the place for you. There was definitely value in the food. I prefer the regular menu items. The "Braised Eight Delights & Tofu in Clay Pot" was delicious. The "Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice" and fried pumpkin were both well like by most of us. I would have liked the food more if they didn't have MSG in it. When we paid, I noticed that a 15% gratuity was automatically included.
We recently visited this Chinese restaurant with a big family group, and they did a great job accommodating us. Their menu was extensive and up-to-date, with plenty of set meal options to suit everyone's tastes, which we really appreciated. However, the service was a bit slow during our visit, likely because there was only one hardworking waiter managing all the tables. They were doing their best, but it did affect the overall experience. As for the food, it was a mixed bag—some dishes were absolutely delightful, while others fell short of expectations. With so many options on the menu, it might take a bit of trial and error to find your favorites. Overall, this spot is worth a visit if you’re looking for variety and a place that welcomes larger groups. Just be prepared to be patient with the service and adventurous with the menu!

1 star because they charged $3 for tap water. Came here for dimsum and they asked us for our tea preference. The tea didn't come, but the "tea spot charge" was still on the bill: $3. We told them the tea never came and they said they still charge for water. $3 for 2 glasses of water that took them 30min to send out AFTER we asked them again. Since when did restaurants start charging for tap water now?
Slow service and only three tables in use. We were sat next to the restroom despite many empty tables. Peking duck buns only had skin but still charged full price. We tipped what we felt was deserved yet waitress yelled at us as we walked out to pay more, and out of anxiousness we did. Food was ok, overall not a great experience.
Place wasn't too busy considering warriors playoff game was on. Took awhile to get menu but finally ordered our food. Only 2 of our dishes came and then stopped for an hour. Brought another dish but wasn't ours. Took our tea to refill but never came back. I question about our food and they came back to tell us they ran out of vegetables. So what about our other dishes. Well finally came but was not hot just warm so we just packed to go. Next time we'll just go to our favorite restaurant down the block. They have better service.
