This place is awesome. Something about their dough keeps their thin crust pizza chewy and soft even when it's cooled off. Most other oven baked thin crust pizzas end up getting really tough when they cool off a bit, but this place is different. Only pizza my daughter has no problem eating. Also they give you fresh basil leaves on the side for all your orders. I've never seen that before and adding basil on pizza really has been growing on me. They are also very accommodating. They had 6 pizzas ready for me for at 12pm on the dot, which is when they actually open!

Super delicious pizza. Salads are great too! Not the best for leftovers though. The crust is pretty thin. Still awesome though. Love the fresh basil and the pepper flakes are super bright red. Great quality of ingredients.

They make great pizza 🍕 at this place. I usually allow the staff to make me their favorite pizza for me🍕 and each different pizza is amazing 👏 😋. Their staff is above and beyond quality their place is clean with happy 😊 faces. Thank you for always remembering ❤️ me even when I come in sleepy 😴 on my way to work. I love supporting this local joint in the Laurel. If I were to describe the pizza, I'd say its a mix between Neapolitan and American style. I wish they had a dine in space but there's none. It's more of a grab and go/take out sort of spot. Delicious pizza nonetheless. They offer really good topping combos that range from traditional to more creative combinations.

My wife and I had their Italiano and their homemade chicken sausage pizzas. Amazing! Great crust and fresh, copious toppings. Highly recommend!

We used Fist of Flour to cater our wedding with their mobile brick oven set-up. Wow, it was such a hit with all our guests and delicious! We love their brick and mortar restaurant too though:) The pizzas, salads, and appetizers were all delicious. Service was extremely quick, no one was waiting around for food, and everyone raved about how good the pizza was. The staff was friendly, easy to work with, and made sure all our guests were taken care of, and were excellent about handling allergies and gluten free pizza. Before the wedding, they helped us design an amazing menu, provided lots of options, and were extremely responsive. A lot of our guests, and us included, are really into pizza and always looking for a great new pizza spot, and this place was amazing. We were told all throughout the night how yummy the food was.

Wood fire Pizza in East Oakland?! Count me in. I had to order two pies and it took 15 minutes, 45 minutes before they close. It was Hella good! We got the supreme and the pizza with potato. We added bacon and the fennel chicken sausage, and it was perfect. The owner handed me this fun “pizza crack“ seasoning, which is divided in dime bags 😂 he chose the bag with the smiley face and I jokingly mentioned the movie half-baked and Mr. Nice guy picking up pizzas, feeding caramel popcorn to a diabetic course. The owner entertained my humor and chopped it up with me while the second pizza finished in the oven once I arrived. I’ll definitely be back and will take pictures to better represent what delicious pizza East Oakland has!

Fist of Flour catered my parent’s surprise birthday party last weekend and I couldn’t wait to leave my review. Every detail was seamless. James, the owner, was communicative, reasonable, helpful and creative with some of our unique requests (i.e. waiting down the block with his large mobile oven to not ruin the surprise). His pricing is reasonable for the amount of food provided. The pizza was incredible, came out piping hot fresh from his mobile oven, and salads were the perfect compliment. His team member was also so helpful and efficient. I could not speak more highly of my experience working with Fist of Flour. 10/10.

I love that they sell the dough kits, we depend on them as we are trying to learn to use our pizza oven! The dough is amazing and we make great pizzas at home with it. I do wish they had some vegan cheese, we'd order their cooked pizzas more often if they did.

First time trying this place and I’m sold. Half the pie was gone in the blink of an eye. There was a mixup with the order app I used - but the team reacted fast and got me on my way in a reasonable time. Will be back for my next carb loading session😝

Pizza is smackin. Unfortunately, we came at time where there was only one person to a few customers, so things moved a little slower IMO compared to other joints, but the pizza saved the vibe.

I’m surprised by all the high ratings. Maybe we just caught them on an off day, but the pizza was pretty underwhelming. Crust was thin, but not crisp like New York style. Also wasn’t Italian style, as it was pretty bland. I much prefer Mama’s Boy for New York style and Lucia’s for Italian.

I was ecstatic to see the "Vegan Deluxe" pizza on the menu and expected greatness after reading all the positive reviews here. I really wanted to like this pizza but it was one of the worst I've had: The ingredients all sound lovely on the menu but the pizza was super dry (please read all the other comments here that suggest adding more sauce, so it's not just me). It was so surprising to me that the pizza had absolutely no flavor. It tasted a little like garlic but none of the ingredients made it taste good. Not even the overload of arugula created something good More sauce, more herbs, more flavoring overall would really help. Maybe caramelized onions or a nicely roasted creamy eggplant could add a lot of flavor. The fresh basil on the side was a nice touch, but it wasn't able to rescue this mess of a pizza. I don't think I ever threw away pizza before. Today was that sad day.
