Opinions de La Promenade Cafe Alameda
A perfect neighborhood gem in the Outer Richmond! La Promenade Café serves specialty coffee, teas, fresh sandwiches, pastries, and delicious desserts—plus beer and wine for a relaxing break. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or settling in to unwind, this cafe always brings a welcoming, feel-good vibe to your day.
First time here and I already love this place! Enjoyed a very reasonably priced, delicious bagel with more than generous cream cheese and lox, topped with tomatoes, red onion and capers along side a cup (actually a small bowl!) of tasty coffee. Great vibe in the back as hushed conversations fill the room the back wall of which is lined with used books for sale. Can’t wait to come back
Love the Carmel latte! Cafe is decorated in beautiful murals - filled with people working on their computers and studying!
What a quaint little find! I was in town looking for a quick lunch and I’m so glad I stumbled into this cafe. The decor and ambiance made me want to grab my laptop out and work for hours. The menu had a variety of drink options like coffee and tea, bubbly options and a lot of fresh sandwiches and salads.
I’ve been dreaming of finding a place like Le Café Promenade, and it feels like I’ve stepped straight into a dream! The atmosphere here is just perfect—it’s like being transported to a charming café in Italy, with a touch of that magical vibe you’d find in Disney’s Epcot. The space is wonderfully open and filled with lush plants, cozy chairs, and soothing jazz music that isn’t too loud—just enough to set the mood. It’s the kind of place where you can lose track of time simply enjoying the ambiance. The service? Absolutely lovely. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. And the coffee? Oh, it’s delicious and super fairly priced - a bagel with a latte for less than $10! Plus, street parking is super easy, making the whole experience even better. Le Café Promenade is nothing short of magical, and I can’t wait to come back again and again! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little slice of perfection.
Such a charming atmosphere with friendly staff and always fresh, delicious coffee. It’s an amazing coworking space filled with warm and welcoming people — the perfect place to work and feel inspired.
This place is amazing with super tasty food, drinks, and positive energy not just from the staff but from the vibe of the customers as well. I don't blame people for staying to enjoy the ambiance while working or socializing.
Easily became one of my top fave cafes in SF after visiting. Super spacious, ton of events lined up. And great place to get work done or even chill with friends. Feels like it belongs in north beach! But I’m not complaining :)
Such a cozy, beautiful coffee shop with a ton of books and beautiful drawings. The staff is patient and friendly. I probably could chill at here all day. Matcha latte is pretty nice :)
I love this place! The coffee is great and inside is quite and relaxing! You have a lot of board games as well, it’s quite big so ideal to come with a big group! The staff are welcoming and polite! The croissant with ham and cheese was delicious! (And you can pick among different cheeses!) I will come back!
This was my third visit to this café. It's a great spot to bring your laptop and get some work or studying done. I tried La tuna sandwich, which was delicious, and on previous visits, I had the cheesecake and black coffee—both were absolutely fantastic. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite places to go.

Lovely coffee place with a very nice vibe. No rush feel. Plenty of seating inside, books and board games. Bagel was good, but the banana bread was too dry.
love this place, has been my fav study spot for years. plenty of seating, even when it's busy (and it gets busy!) i can usually find a seat. great food, sandwiches, coffee (although the coffee isn't the best, it's certainly good enough. nothing super special on that front though.) The vibes, however, are IMMACULATE. Decorated like a parisian bistro, super cute little fake booths, warm lighting, gorgeous windows in the front, plenty of real plants, just fantastic vibes. only complaint is that there aren't too many outlets, which i know isn't something they can do very much about. I live in ingleside and don't drive, so my commute here is almost 50 minutes- yet i come like twice a week. that should tell you how cozy this place is. I also love the late hours- closes at 6 most days, and 8 or 9 on fridays and saturdays (don't remember the exact time). just check it out if your looking for a cozy spot.
Whenever we're in the neighborhood, we stop in for the Balboa sandwich (turkey, avocado, veggies, provolone) and a chai or mocha. It's always delicious. It's a great place to read or get some work done, and the books along the back wall are only $5. Parking is easy in the area, too - a big plus.
Five stars. My vanilla coffee was superb, and the ambiance is exactly what I look for to get work done, a large comfortable café with ample seating, thoughtful music that doesn’t overpower conversation or flow, and a refined French cafe feel. Highly recommended.

This cozy, warm, and chill cafe left a lasting impression on my wife and I! The place has great service and flavorful pastries (try the red velvet). The staff was sweet and friendly! My wife and I recommend everyone to stop by when you’re in San Francisco! We would like to come back here again!
$$$ this cafe has a really cute atmosphere. They have coffee, bagels, sandwiches and treats. We got a spiced chai latte and cappuccino, both tasted pretty good however they came out really hot. We got. Turkey club to share, it comes on sourdough bread with one slice in the middle. The sandwich tasted really fresh and the tomato’s were sweet and delicious. I would definitely order the sandwich again!

Good coffee and very nice atmosphere indeed - after a hike in the Sutra Bath, this place was a good find to spend an hour or two. I did not try the food options but must be good from what I saw. The only painful thing was the parking - there is not very many parking in the area (at-least I could not find). Walk outside is also very nice.

I am on the edge here. Maybe the place is good, and I saw the owner there and he looks supportive and kind.. but I did not feel staff being friendly, just very very neutral.. also I ordered a combo with soup. Sandwich was great, soup … they overheated it in microwave like crazy, plastic lid was melting and left melted plastic on the edge of the carton soup bowl. Overheating also probably affected taste of the soup, since I didn’t really like it. I think if it was left in microwave at least 30 seconds less it would have a better taste, and if I was making it for the customer and see that lid I’d apologize and reheat the new portion of the soup, hopefully before customer would even see it. Owner(or manager in blue shirt) was passing by my table when I was taking pictures of the soup with plans to post this review and maybe did not pay attention, but he did not save experience by walking by to 2 regulars(I think) in the back and greeting them and asking how they are doing, not doing same to me.. I’m now placing 2 stars I hope you will improve in future. And will raise it next time if I have a good experience. I would like to try it again, since coffee was great and sandwich was good too. The bagel place next to this place is such a huge comparison of how you don’t want your bagel- they sell bagels more expensive and just offer you a can of cream cheese for you to make your bagel for $3 more dollars than this cafe…. So I respect “La Promenade” for being much better than that.

Manager didn’t handle public disturbance well. Older lady was yelling the minute she got there and bossed around the employees like she owned the place. Then, I witnessed her bang on the bathroom door yelling all sorts of disrespectful things to a customer who was inside because she was taking too long for her liking. Manager did nothing and allowed this lady to yell at the top of her lungs. I couldn’t study any longer. Coffee was okay, but I was turned off by how management handled this disturbance.
This is a very cute little cafe. There are a few employees that always help me and they are so attentive and sweet. They are what kept me coming back other than the good food. The food was great and good service too however I was very turned off by what i found out was the manager/owner. He was being extremely disrespectful to one of his employees. I over heard one of the employees mention they had not gotten a break and they were almost off. This was not the first time. Another time I went in and apparently his wife was reprimanding an employee about something so small and trivial. These owners needs to take running a business 101 and learn respect for their employees before this business crashes and burns.
