Little hidden spot on Alameda Island with a pleasant relaxing Peet's Coffee hidden inside. It has a modern yet rustic interior that is clean and polished with pleasant music playing at all times. Many large windows open up the central seating area to a view of one of the main streets in Alameda where people go for fun dining. I enjoyed going here for coffee and always love that Peet's coffee flavor in my Golden Turmeric Latte ☺️

Spacious and quiet coffee joint. I loved the big table. Coffee seemed better than the watery Starbucks on park street.

Great open space, with comfy chairs, clean restrooms, and friendly staff. There is also a drive through if you don't want to park. This is one of the better Peets for working on a laptop.

Peet’s Coffee on Park Street is my go-to spot for a great cup of coffee in Alameda. The staff is always friendly and quick, and the coffee is consistently smooth and flavorful. It’s a nice place to sit and relax, whether you’re working or just catching up with friends.

I like the fact that the old burger King structure was kept, but modified in such a way that complements the Peet's layout. I do think more outlets could be placed near the windows facing the outdoor seating.

This is a newer location and I'm super happy it's here!! Drive through so far has been efficient and there is a lot of room to chill inside too. Staff is nice :)

It’s a nice coffee shop with plenty of seating, clean washroom, drive-through, and mobile ordering. My coffee mocha with oat milk and whip cream was delicious.

I usually go to the Peets in Alameda on Webster Street. I have been there a few times. They generally start making my coffee when I walk in. Which is always a nice surprise!!!

Webster St Peets is so CLEAN, very friendly staff, of course the best coffee since 1978 for me, Piedmont Ave location & I won't leave Peets after 50 other cafes from Alameda to Frisco to .....and the atmosphere at Peets Webster is sweet, each time I go is always great....on Feb 2 this yr I treated an old acquaintance who had been homeless, he thanked me by stealing my Rx eyeglasses & my Espresso Forte beans, the Mgr, Holly called me the next day insisting on replacing my beans......too sweet, Peet's Coffee & Tea, simply the bestl

Peet’s coffee which is located in Webster Alameda is most place that I like and feel that they understand what I want because I am weak in English and friendly. Beside the parking, most of the Peet’s coffee doesn’t have parking.

Perfect location in Alameda. Very cozy place to relax and have coffee. My favorite however is the Oolong tea with honey. Perfect after lunch drink.

After the Alameda Antique Faire we always stop for a latte at Peets before driving home. It really hits the spot and pleasant outdoor seating helps us decompress after an early morning and long day of searching for Antiques and collectibles.

I love this Pete's. Brand new and very clean. Friendly staff, a row of cushioned seats & tables. Good design aesthetic. Far better than the Starbucks down the street for sure. Drive thru too!

Dear coffee aficionados, I am writing to share with you a truly remarkable experience I recently had at Peet's Coffee in Alameda, California. This particular encounter transcended the realms of ordinary coffee enjoyment; it was a divine connection that stirred my senses and touched my soul. From the moment I stepped into the cozy ambiance of Peet's Coffee, I was enveloped in a soothing atmosphere that felt like a sanctuary for my weary spirit. The fragrant aroma of freshly roasted beans mingled with a sense of tranquility, instantly transporting me to a place of pure bliss. In these extraordinary moments, I had the pleasure of crossing paths with a barista named Diana, whose expertise and passion for her craft were unmatched. Diana's unwavering commitment to excellence shone through in each meticulously crafted beverage she prepared, turning every visit into a transcendent experience. Let me take a moment to sing praises for the white chocolate mochas that Diana created for me on three separate occasions. With each visit, Diana managed to surpass the previous masterpiece, delivering a level of perfection that seemed almost otherworldly. The rich, velvety texture of the white chocolate combined with the perfectly balanced espresso and frothy milk created a symphony of flavors that danced upon my palate with divine grace. It was evident that Diana's talent was not limited to her technical skills alone. Her genuine warmth and genuine interest in ensuring my complete satisfaction made each interaction a delight. She not only served coffee but also extended a gentle kindness that left an indelible mark on my heart. As I reflect on these encounters, I am reminded of the words of the ancient poet Rumi, who said, "Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love." Within the walls of Peet's Coffee in Alameda, I found myself drawn to the love and passion that Diana poured into each cup she created. To the entire team at Peet's Coffee, I extend my deepest gratitude for fostering an environment where such exceptional experiences can occur. The dedication to quality, the commitment to hospitality, and the genuine care for customers like me make Peet's Coffee not just a place for caffeinated delights but a sanctuary for the soul. In conclusion, if you find yourself in Alameda, California, do not miss the opportunity to visit Peet's Coffee and bask in the divine flavors crafted by the talented hands of barista Diana. Prepare to embark on a journey of taste, warmth, and transcendent joy that will linger in your heart long after your last sip. With gratitude and caffeinated blessings,

Easy to miss while driving by, but the building is recessed from the busy street. It's a nice place to chill and hangout. Peets vibes are always pleasant, comfortable, and relaxing. Traffic noise is minimal, get a good conversation going and you won't notice a thing. Recommend for a first date or at least a nice first cup of coffee. The interior space is big, study spot for sure pre-covid of course. Outdoor seating area available, 5 tables total and four chairs per table with overhead trellis and hanging plants are nice for shade. Parking in the back but only 20 stalls or so. First Peets I know that has a drive-thru, but since it's next to a college it makes sense to have one. The staff are super nice and great, college life and work atmosphere. They make your coffee good and strong just how I like it. Diverse staff if you're wondering, indoor restroom available too, spaces and clean. Covid related stuff... plastic screens are up at the ordering counter and at pickup. Staff walking around cleaning the tables often which is nice. Not too busy on the weekends. Drive-thru has a line 5‐6 adverage. Since the counter staff is behind the plastic screens and closed off, wearing mask wasn't necessary, bit when they step out of the counter bar they wear their mask on. It didn't bother me none. I recommend coming here to relax, its cozy and at times detacted from the world which is nice. So go experience it yourself.

Got a Joe's to Go. Had pre ordered but from the Park Street location, this shop is on Webester. Excellent customer service, coffee was delicious and took less then 5mins to get my order. Love Pete's, never a disappointment.

So far, this has been one of the better cafes in the bay area for me. Great place to recharge your iphone, laptop, ipad, etc. Decent teas and they have honey, liquid sugar, brown, and white sugar. Decent rest room. Staff is different person having different personality. One day I got a near free cake! whoa! Well Bay Area prices = very high even for east coast NYC, but that’s not Peet’s doing! 🐿😁. Only reason I give it 5 stars it seems to be one of the only ones open late (that is so called late) around here Alameda, Lake Merrit area. Oh btw it’s reachable by public transport (buses ) 😁. Very cool dude!

I always enjoy this Peet's coffee.the dining room is decent size in usually pretty clean. And if the dining room is too crowded, the Emeryville public market provides for plenty of places to sit.

By far the smoothest and most satisfying decaf vanilla soy latte in nor cal 😊 also, I had user issues with the app and barista felt bad and paid for my drink!! Great customer service for sure!!

This is my favorite Peet’s Coffee location. The coffee is great and the service is fantastic. The drive-thru is conveniently located near the Tube. I can't play enough good things about this place!

Everything about this place, from the atmosphere to the staff, is great! The manager, Holly, is wonderful and the staff is always friendly. They greet most everybody by name and remember their drinks. Well, at least they remember each and every one of my complicated drinks. They're competent and hard-working, the manager always does what she can to keep the store stocked, fully staffed, and operating. The baristas are not only efficient but they're also very talented. Many of them are creative and I've seen the impressive foam art on others' drinks. Kudos on having a parking lot! The only drawbacks are the uncomfortable seats and the poorly placed plug outlets. The dang plug outlets! The outside patio, when you have an iced coffee in hand, is refreshing on a hot day with a cool and gentle breeze blowing.

Review for September 20th, 2023 Great customer services! I haven't been to a Peet's in a long time, probably before Covid-19. Last was the one in Downtown Oakland, where I used to work in that area, I don't see it on Google Map, but customer services there were great, I was a regular customer. Anyways, Diana remembered me from there, even with a mask on! I remembered her with glasses, but she wasn't wearing them the other day.. this was an awesome visit! It's great to see familiar faces! This is one of the reasons I love Peet's, always friendly and welcoming! Great drinks, too!

Service was fast and friendly and there was plenty of room to sit inside while maintaining distance. To give you an idea of the indoor space, this building used to be Burger King. I didn't use the drive-thru but it appeared to be operating efficiently. I'm one of those who prefer Peet's over Starbucks, and while I don't go out for coffee often, Peet's is my go-to place. BTW, their main roasting plant is right here in Alameda (out on Bay Farm Island).

I think this might be my new favorite Pete’s! My drink was great, staff was friendly and it’s a drive through! What’s not to like?! This might be the best tasting Fog cold brew latte I’ve had in a while, I will be returning. Thanks for making my drink so tasty and my morning less hectic... I’m up earlier than normal lol.

This is the best Peet’s location in the entire country of America. They roast the beans perfectly, the temperature is just right, the chocolate blends smoothly with they milk, putting the shot at the top so the plastic cup doesn’t make the drink taste tacky, blending the chocolate and milk so that it’s mixed so well. Any barista at this spot can make a perfect Dark Chocolate Iced Mocha, the employees work really well together and communicate very beautifully. They make this location look better than the first ever original Peet’s on Walnut in Berkeley. I tried their mocha and wanted to pour it out and run to this location. The one on Park st. can’t even compare, this is seriously the best location.

Came here on a weekend. The vibe is noticeably more quiet versus the weekday. The barista who assisted the person in front of me walked away for quite some time leaving me to wait wondering when she'll be back. Another barista, Violet or Violia, turned around, sprung into action and assisted me right away. I appreciate her attentiveness and good judgement. I often catch the store manager Michael on the weekdays and he's very nice and helpful.

The breakfast we ordered didn’t look as appetizing as the photos presented—it actually seemed a bit underwhelming. The cinnamon roll and croissant tasted rather ordinary. On a positive note, the spacious interior provided a pleasant atmosphere for dining.

A pretty nice Peet’s! (Ethical rating: 3.5 Green Stars) This Peet’s Coffee in the West end of Alameda is pleasant for various reasons: There’s usually lots of space, including outdoor seating with leafy shade; staff members are friendly; the music is not too loud; and it’s clean, with clean restrooms too. Peet’s had gradually improved when it comes to plant-based offerings. There’s the vegan “Everything Plant-Based Sandwich” (an Impossible sausage patty combined with vegan egg and cheddar on a thin bagel) which isn’t bad when combined with hot sauce. Unfortunately they did away with the other (better) vegan savory offering last year – the Mediterranean flatbread – so it would be nice to see something to replace it. On the sweet side, the morning glory muffin is vegan and also happens to be one of the best things in the pastry case. And thanks in large part to a campaign supported by Paul McCartney, there’s now no extra charge for plant-based milks! I’m also giving the Peet’s 3.5 out of 5 “Green Stars” for social and environmental impact, based on this: • Reasonable selection of vegetarian items and a vegan sandwich, muffin, and brownie. • Peet’s have been better than most other US chains (Starbucks, Philz) at introducing coffee that’s organic, shade-grown (e.g., certified Smithsonian Bird Friendly), or processed by the natural method, etc. Having said that, there aren’t that many certified coffee beans on sale at the moment. None that are fair trade certified, that I can see and just a couple that are certified organic. Perhaps the best option is the Yosemite Dos Sierras, which is organic and also certified bird friendly (Smithsonian). It’s also one of their best coffees. • Peet’s allows customers to bring their own coffee mugs again & gives a 25 cent discount for using one. • Peet’s main coffee roastery in Alameda is certified LEED Gold– the first in the US. (LEED = Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) • Peet’s has now merged with Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) and the joint venture had its IPO in 2020 on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange. JDE scores poorly for ethics, for example on Ethical Consumer. • Peet’s sells coffee pods (and JDE sells two machines that use pods), encouraging plastic waste. • Peet’s doesn’t reports enough on social and environmental impact (e.g., coffee pricing) for a company of this size. So a mixed bag from Peet’s: Better than Starbucks or Philz but not as good as some other local spots. Interested in writing green star reviews? If so, please check out the Green Stars Project.

This Peet's coffee location is very unique. Unlike other Peet's stores, this location has a drive-thru window. Additionally, it has both indoor and an outdoor seating area. There is parking, but it can be limited when all the students are there studying after school. Unfortunately, this location doesn't accept mobile orders.

Mostly a good place for coffee. There's good seating inside and out and decent parking. However, I got tepid coffee a couple times.

Great store. Lots of seating, friendly service, air conditioning, parking out back. A regular hangout for Alameda College students. Only downside is that they blast Peet's Radio over the loudspeakers. EDIT: There is another bug here, and it's a guy who talks REALLY LOUD on his cell phone for HOURS. The staff does nothing about it.

Employees are very pleasant. The floor could have been swept up a little bit there was debris here and there. The cushion on their large bench for seating needs to be replaced it's all tattered, worn and torn.

This is sort of my hiding place when I need A/C, or a good place to read. It's quieter and there are more seats than the student filled Starbucks across the street. It has a really nice shaded outdoor deck where you can watch lazy Alameda go by

Nice spacious clean place to come & have good coffee, nice wedges of pumpkin bread, study or meet up. Unfortunately, a group of super loud Chinese guys occasionally take over the space, shouting to the person next to them in Chinese, the workers never coming over to calm them down, or ask them to go outside, occasionally ruining an otherwise pleasant respectful atmosphere....just went back in, same Chinese folks, but talking at a very reasonable pleasant inside volume. I'm not sure if somebody spoke with them or not, but it is a very nice turn for the better...

While I would loved to have added 5 stars and really enjoy being able to use the drive thru.. My last few visits have felt very unpleasant and uneasy. One of your drive thru employees always seem to give me an unpleasant experience.. I always feel as if I am a bother when he takes my orders and this last experience it felt as if he was annoyed that I mentioned a mistake that was made with my order, so I just told him it's okay.. he had no problem shutting that window real fast and not caring to fix it. I'm not usually one to complain about customer service.. but I really do enjoy coming to this Peets as everyone else is so nice and understanding.. I just hope someone would understand how it feels to always have to encounter that one employee who makes you feel unwelcome.

Given the location of this store the ambience is reasonable and about what could be expected. Software friendly and did great me when I came into and left the store. Bathrooms were unlocked and I did not need to use a code to get in and they were reasonably clean too. My coffee tasted good and they were multiple seats available for sitting down and using a computer although they were not many power outlets. There's also a decent amount of parking out the back and a drive through Lane

Drive thru available. Walking in is 10x faster but watch out because you have cross the drive thru lane to get into the store. Bad set-up. Inside is large and lots of places to set up of you want be on your devices.

B
Betty Stouffer

Too bad the staff is not always the best at dealing with customers. Also there's some really strange personality dynamics in staff that are distractive from just enjoying a Peets experience.

Words to the wise: order ahead and don't trust drive thru. 30 min wait in line, was almost late to the ferry had I not run to it. Good thing I had caffeine! Pleasant staff but always slow in drive thru, not sure what the hold up is with food orders.

walk-in & order coz drive-thru sucks {over charged me + got my order wrong, last-time) Only 1 on-line, cashier was cordial & greeted me, took my order correctly; server was great too!!! {nice interaction & acknowledgement} And, the table/stand was well stocked & organized (not messy) half-n-half {3full), cinnamon & cocoa-powder, sugar, napkins, stirrers, straws, cup-sleeves...all full. I got what I needed; keep up the great service!!!

Not a good location for an outdoor seating. Got surrounded by road from 3 sides. Super noisy especially when there is an active construction across the main road. Cold wind as usual. Staff is on the point & no messing around in contrast to the Starbucks across the road. Good coffee. Needs a wider selection of pastries. The existing ones look bland. Love the oatmeal, but one could add a butter on top option to the list.

Coffee and the morning glory muffin were great! Docked two stars because our barista clearly had a cole and was wiping snot all over their arm as they took my order and did not bother washing their hands before prepping my coffee. I understand not everyone can take time off when sick, but they absolutely can follow basic hygiene when serving food and drinks.

It's a fairly standard coffee chain location, nothing special, save for the perpetual long lines and absolute inability to consistently make a normal cup of coffee. Seriously, if you want just coffee then expect it to be either too weak or too strong, but never just right.

T
Tiffany Ramoneda

I had to stop going to the Webster Street location because the one of the baristas always gives me steamed milk instead of a chai. Even when I ask for extra chai. I don't realize my drink is wrong until I get to my office a few minutes away, but once I get there I can't go back to Peet's to have my drink fixed.

B
Bruce Langley

Combining the "traditional" coffee house with a high volume drive-thru, and then expecting the barista to simultaneously service both. If PHC Inc. wants to continue denigrating Alfred Peet's legacy with it's corporate brand then this be the formula.

J
Jennifer “Hope” Ogden

The place has a ton of super comfortable chairs where you can get your work done. The regulars are super friendly. The music is decent and the die-hard staff are great! But do you watch your laptop carefully as there have been several thefts in the cafe. Otherwise, very high turnover of staff. A very far cry from the beloved Peet's Coffee in the past. Drive-through service is difficult due to the system being the old fast food drive-thru that has not been updated. I will stick to the Lakeshore store.

The drive thru experience was terrible. There were two drive thru operators and they talked over each other. When we pulled up, the attendant said wait and didn't really greet us then walked away and took her time. She then forgot to give us our food order. I could hear the other operator has an attitude. I usually have excellent and pleasant experiences at other locations and this is not what I expected.

This is the worst Peet's I've been to. I've come several times trying to give it another chance. The only perk is the drive-thru. The atmosphere is strange. It shares a parking lot with a motel. This last visit, I ordered a pound of beans. I asked for Guatemalan beans twice over the intercom. The person couldn't understand me. When I got to the window, there was a new person who was confirming my order. I said I wanted to make sure it was Guatemalan beans. They said Gaia. I said no, Guatemalan. They said ok. I said I wanted Guatemalan beans again. They said yes. I paid. They handed me Gaia. I just took the beans and left.

Coffee here is a hit or miss at this location. Idk if ppl here are training or new but drinks are often not made correctly. Feel like I’ve wasted so much time and money on simple drinks not made right.

N
Norma

The guy at the drive thru is rude. People inside are not as polite either they seem to bully customers and laugh amongst themselves. Drinks are a hit or miss never great or anything special. This place has been open for a while and hasn't gotten it together.

C

Every time I have been at this location the bathroom is a horror story. There are use at your own risk of getting Hepatitis. There’s trash everywhere and their are unsanitary. The management should be replaced with a whole new ones who care about customer service. ( the ones there now are rude and overwhelmed) and cleanliness. This location is gross and unclean and they are in serious need of a new management and a hygienist. Go there for coffee if you must and then leave as soon as you can and for the record most definitely avoid the bathrooms.

K

I love Peet's, but the drive-thru they're supposed to have at the Webster location is hardly ever open. Definitely call first if you want the drive-thru. They close it early, and they close it even earlier whenever they're short staffed, which is often.

Why is Peet’s so bad? It pouring and they won’t let us pick up a mobile order at the drive thru? Your parking lot is completely flooded. Come on Peet’s. Your policies are dumb. Skip this place and go to a local coffee shop.

Eh.. They charged me extra $8 for an item I didn't order, but the cashier insisted that I did. However telling him and showing him the bag that it was not there didn't count.

Service is horrible. Every time my order is messed up constant rotation of employees. I am thinking ampm coffee is just as good

Drive through had long lines and you could only order by app for pickup. No ordering inside.. Went across the street to Starbucks and got served right away

Waited 30 minutes for a coffee none of the employees have a clue. not coming back ever agian. Person working the register was rude and didn't notice us standing there for 30 mins. All around horrible service.

L

This location is extremely too slow. It should not take 15 mins in the drive through

S
Said Omar

Poor customer service. I ordered my coffee and waited for sometimes without my name being called. I went and ask the person what happened to my order and the lady just pointed her finger to the ready coffee. Why did I have to wait for long until I asked while they call the names for the ready ones. Stupid, arrogant and not professional

E
Eirini P.

I really wanted to like this location because it is so convenient but I can't. They very frequently get my order wrong and it seems that the staff are just not trained well. I have had espresso drinks that we're completely undrinkable and tons of hot drinks that were supposed to be iced. I am very disappointed over and over again by this location.

L

Peets was my favorite space. Not now The coffee taste like water. Why did Peets sell the company to a German company. Big mistake. Please read this review. The same with Starbucks. It's even worse. I will tell the management this morning.

K
Kickn8 (Mike)

I don't know how they hire/train their employees..this new girl whips out her POS payment terminal..still can't reach because my car is not high up like SUV. On top of that she's demanding I put on a face mask...uh no sweetheart..not in a drive through AND in my OWN vehicle. If you're going to continue to make things inconvenient for drive through customers (paying a premium btw); I'm just going to take my business elsewhere along with telling everyone not to patronize that location.

U
Ultraviolet

They’re understaffed and prioritize the drive through even if there are four times as many people waiting inside. Their processes are inexplicably bad for a chain, they often don’t have drip coffee ready.

A

Really bad experience at the drive thru this morning. The employee charged me, gave me the wrong order, when telling her my order two times she shut the window on me and then came to tell me that I had to pay for my order as well. Finally another employee helped her, cancelled the first payment, charged me my order, kept shutting the window and rolling her eyes at me and still gave me the wrong order which due to food allergies my sister had to go inside to get it fixed and was still getting the same employee rolling her eyes at her.

I order through the doordash app for pickup when I came in to pickup my order the staff was like confused they thought is not my order , the old lady told me they don’t bag the order for pickup when I ask why my order is not in bag it be easy to carry they had attitude about that it was horrible experience , they need to learn how to be more respectful and kind with customers !! I would give zero star signs o this location !!

S
Sylvia Neupane

What a Terrible service! The manager should learn a better customer service and how to treat people with respect. She was discriminative, aggressive and rude and treated us with completely no respect, and told us that she will call police on us because we were standing on a sidewalk drinking Peet’s coffee and talking. She said it doesn’t look good for Peet’s when we are standing there, but we were standing on the sidewalk and this is a public space. We left because of the tone of her voice and message, we didn’t feel welcome there. A terrible experience.

Today at 1 pm we went thru Drive thru at Peet's on Webster. We order 1 large regular drip with milk and Splenda & 1 med decaf drip. It took 15 minutes of wait time, no one was in front of us...the lady came & rang us up, gave us 2 coffees and DID NOT PROVIDE A RECEIPT. We gave a tip and drove away. 15 minutes later when drinking my coffee, I started feeling the effects of caffeine. The lady switched the coffees on us. I have high blood pressure & cannot drink regular coffee. I am disappointed because we mentioned 4 times that we wanted a med decaf coffee and did not receive what we asked for. Instead my husband had no caffeine and I had too much. Not an organized, smooth flowing coffee shop.

Eddie A

Employees in the drive-thru need to stop asking if i will leave a tip. They also need to give me my change when I pay with cash. They have been taking my change and not giving a back automatically, thinking I won't notice.

I’ve worked food service so I understand how stressful it can be when it is busy. However, I will not return if I continue to be served with such attitude from one of your baristas. I unfortunately did not get her name but she was working the drive thru window around 11:30, I believe she is Asian. I forgot to order a sandwich so at the window I asked if it was possible to add the item. I understand it adds some wait time, but I have already been waiting quite a bit of time before getting to the window. Her response was to roll her eyes dramatically and slam the drive thru window. I then heard her yelling at the other workers. Thankfully, another friendly worker came to give me my order. But the rude barista came back to hand me the sandwich i added and didn’t say a word, just rolled her eyes and slammed the window. I’m upset to say I will not be returning, as I am a loyal peets customer, but one of your baristas is so incredibly rude I refuse to support this business.

If you pay with card in the drive thru (I’ve never been inside at this location), most employees say, “it’ll ask a question,” then stick the card reader out the window. The question is how much do you want to tip… They watch as you select an option, and It feels really awkward.

BEWARE! I drive thru the drive thru this morning and didn’t have change so couldn’t leave a tip and the guy with the piercings and grunge look seemed upset by this. I just finished my drink and I believe he spit in it the last sip was a disgusting taste. I am sooo disgusted right now and just want to warn others.

E

Every morning the guy at the drive thru is just really unprofessional. Does not have proper etiquette. Will not greet you in any way and clearly has an attitude. If you don't like your job quit but then you all expect a tip for drive thru service.
