This is a coffee shop, so I am rating her against other coffee shops. This was my first time and I connected with the owner as he was bringing today’s stock of the best butter mochi I’ve ever had: tiny, perfect, decadent - crunchy on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside. For those who fight for the corner pieces… he is the bite you never knew you needed, crunch edge in every bite. We had their congee with pork: Note: it’s Kalua Pork made with the right balance of saltiness and smokiness. Definitely coming back. Yummy coffee shop stuff too. Also dog friendly. I sat outside and had several dog owners walk by and I ask so the dogs came to hang before moving on. If you love dogs outside is the place to chill.
This is a jewel in the neighborhood. Busy in the weekends and the food is amazing. I had the ground meat, egg and rice dish. Yummy! Had an ube latte, super yummy. My daughter had the avocado toast and a tasty matcha with strawberry. Service is friendly and competent. Vibes are mellow. Come here!
Such great lattes and a cool place to hang out and read (they don't have wifi). A great neighborhood spot. Love that they they have gluten free food options.
Great little coffee joint! Ordered an iced ube latte, twas delicious, very subtle ube taste. A pecan (or walnut?) Pineapple scone, lovely subtle taste as well. A matcha cookie, which I mean come on, if you like matcha, this is the cookie for you because I loved it and so did my 2 year old! The cinnamon roll was spiced so perfectly, might'e been the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. And lastly, the bread pudding. I've never had bread pudding before, but it has now become my favorite dessert. It was so gooey, moist, and amazing! I also love and appreciate the Asian inspired drinks and snacks, definitely will recommend this spot to anyone and everyone!
I recently found out about Lazy Bird Coffee on Facebook. I was reading people recommending it for different flavored latte. I decided to go try it yesterday. I ordered their Honey Lavender Latte. (I was looking for a place that makes it after liking it at Cafe Jolie). I also got their Ube Latte for my husband. I wanted to try some of their pastries and breakfast items. I got us an Almond Croissant, a Creme Brulee Filled Donut, an Ube Maladada and a Yau Choy & Gruyere, Egg, Sriracha Aioli Croissant. We liked all of it. I looked forward to going back to try their Horchata latte and Matcha latte. They were sold out on some pastries I wanted to get. I look forward to trying those when I go back. I gave my daughter the Ube Malasada, and she liked it. I let her try the Creme Brulee Filled Donut, and she liked it as well. I enjoy finding places that my kids like. My kids are picky eaters, so if one of them likes it, it makes me happy.
Excellent coffee prices are fair and some creative drinks . Coffee was balanced well . Semi hard to find parking as it is street parking
The ube latte was so good whoever made it deserves the world. The banana matcha I can’t speak on because I threw up 16 hours ago and my friend keeps calling me “pukey” and won’t let me have a sip even though he threw up, too. However, he would describe the banana matcha as fresh, delicious, and well rounded. Would highly recommend this spot.
Cute brunch place with fun drinks and surprisingly good food. A bit spendy but it was fun to bring friends from out of town here
Decent coffee, really good chai. A bit small inside but there's some seating outdoors. The turkey panini is really the standout, and I've gone back several times just got that.

Randomly stopped here during my first trip to Alameda and was so happy with my Cortado and congee! The service and menu is wonderful and they offer a lot of gluten free options. I will definitely be back again and again once we officially move here.
Loved their bibinka (butter mochi) and the egg/croissant thing I tried. Pretty good cold brew that I enjoyed having with the cream cheese cold foam. Will definitely come back!
delicious coffee and treats! they also have incredible congee!! love the brown butter mochi!
Favorites: the ube crinkle cookie, the mochi dessert, the blueberry scone (great crumb with lemon zest but on the sweeter side), the salmon toast, egg salad toast, and the horchata latte.

Lovely and cozy coffee shop with a bright, modern vibe! Lazybird Coffee is a perfect spot to relax or get some work done. The coffee is rich and smooth, and the food is fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the brunch dishes and specialty drinks. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and quick with service. The space is clean, stylish, and very comfortable. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended if you’re in Alameda — I’ll definitely be coming back!

We visited a highly recommended coffee shop during the Art and Wine Festival. Despite the Saturday crowd, the line moved quickly, and I was called up within minutes. The shop had seating inside and outside, and it was dog-friendly, with many patrons bringing their dogs. My pandan latte was smooth, creamy, and delicious—one of the best I’ve had.
Hello viewers, I read about this cute little coffee shop - call Ladybird coffee on the newspaper, and love to give it a try. my impression of the coffee shop is to serve the crafted latte, pastries and a decent place to sit down. in lazybird coffee, the latte are done at the perfect temperature with the form, and variety of pastries that I feel are not made in kitchen (probably a store bought), and the place is definitely too crowed for a long sit down and work. mark my words, if you are coming for a nice cup of coffee to go, and good selection of the pasties. if you plan to come here for a afternoon work, I think you will find a nearby starbucks that suit you better. P.S - did I mention the first thing that catch my attention is - the birds put the coffee on his belly, 😆
Great food and service. I had the Pandan and Samosa lattes, and their subtle flavor profiles leaned toward vanilla, as is often the case with syrups containing relatively lower amounts of their purported title ingredients. Milk needs more texturing or more air- a big hit to the lattes. The spam musubi had rice and sauce enclosing both sides of a slice spam - an important detail in distribution. A large slice of bread pudding had a moist, spongy interior with a topping of melting chocolate chips. They have a very big foods menu, and the Asian inspiration shows. No ceramic/porcelain tableware to be found to accompany aesthetic dishes seen in other diners' takeout boxes. Very friendly service allows for inquiry into their foods, as mines were not on a menu as I recall, but behind glass.

I visited again but missed out on the White Chocolate Matcha since they were closing soon. I tried the Ube crinkle and triple ginger cookies, and I preferred the triple ginger as the Ube flavor was mild. Their Pandan Latte remains the best I've had—I love the strong Pandan taste and would commute just for it. It's a cozy cafe, perfect for chatting with friends.
Small coffee shop; decent mocha/oat milk, good GF mochi muffin, nothing cheerful or elegant about the atmosphere.

We were in Alameda for a event and wanted some coffee to start the day. According to the reviews, they had pandam lattes. Were always on the lookout for a good pandam latte. It was a little bit crowded, but the line moved quickly. I ordered and waited for them to call me. It has a few tables inside and more outside. The place is very dog friendly. There's a water bowl set up for the dogs. Almost everyone outside had dogs. I also had my dogs with me. The coffee was creamy smooth, with not a over powering last of pandam. The reviews were pretty much accurate.
I went out of my way to come here since I’ve heard amazing stuff & the coffee was pretty damn good , perfect balance of flavor / coffee/ sweetness! I was disappointed with my “foam” it’s basically nonexistent.i did noticed it was poured out of a jug which I thought was odd , since it take all of 3 seconds with a hand whisk . I didn’t ask for more or for it to be remade because the girl taking the order was already being short & unwelcoming, repling in an annoyed, short tone . Then again maybe that was my fault for asking her questions about a few drinks ???
Came in on a rainy afternoon. If you’re an Alameda local who appreciates good third wave coffee and espresso, just go to Signal or Highwire. The kid barista clearly does not know how to make a cappuccino. The milk is oversteamed and I’m surprised this cafe does not even bother with drink presentation. What is this matcha😭 I have worked as a barista for years and this is just really lazy work. The kids hired here are on their phones. The name of the place is appropriate for the service. Food and coffee not worth the price.

Lazy Bird is one of few walkable coffee shops for me and I like the place in theory but am usually disappointed with my coffee. Food is FANTASTIC - love love love the chorizo breakfast burrito. But the sizing options for coffee are very limiting. As far as I know there is only one size for iced drinks and it’s pretty massive. They also barely put any ice in. So you end up with a giant cup of room temp milk and the ratio is so off that you can’t even taste the espresso. I wish they had a standard smaller iced latte size option so that the classic ratio for a latte could be made to order. Instead, if I want a latte that actually tastes like a latte, I have to order one with double the espresso and ask them for extra extra ice (which they typically still skimp on). With these add ons I am paying $9 for a latte that tastes somewhat normal. I come here out of convenience but I would come daily if that fixed their iced latte ratios and offered smaller sizes. I’m not a negative review type of person but I worked in the coffee industry for years and I definitely think this suggestion would leave customers like myself more likely to return
The service could be better the employees seemed upset, also they should not let other customers grab other customers drinks, this regular old white lady grabbed my drink from the counter and one no told her not to do that probably because she's a regular and an old white woman but did not like that at all. I know if she was a different font they would have said something.
