One of the best valued restaurants in the city. Cat the boss lady is a real character and is full of surprises.
I've been coming here for years. I am usually the only non-Asian in the restaurant. The food is great, but service is sometimes spotty since it gets busy at times.
First time here. Will def be back. Tasty food, gigantic portions, and served just the way I like- piping hot😊
Very authentic Chinese food, large portion, delicious, friendly family restaurant
Delicious Chinese food at reasonable prices. Unlimited yummy desserts
I like the yin yang spare ribs here. They serve big portions of everything.
Superb salt & pepper (with Chile flakes) and sweet & sour pork chops!
One of a few legit Canton Chinese restaurant remaining in the city
Very nice owner, big portions.
Great food in a old historic setting
Good value! Huge portion with reasonable price. The owner is very friendly. Would definitely go regularly. Thanks Yan Yan.
My favorite place for family n friend gathering ovet there to enjoy all good foods! The owners are very friendly. Mt second home!
The food is great! Caters to Chinese families, so this is definitely not a date night type restaurant. Go for the food, not the ambience.
Food is pretty good as for Cantonese food, owner is very friendly. Service is fairly standard for typical Chinese restaurant, which means don't expect a lot service. Price is definitely very reasonable.
Serving is big good for four people left over for the next day! Had Singapore noodles, salt & pepper ribs (house specialty), steam flounder, hot & sour soup, snow pea leaves with garlic and beef medallion with 3 kinds of mushrooms yummy!!!
OMG the hostess is just as sweet as y'all said. Plus she's literally sparkly! $35 for massive quantities of Seafood Hong Kong style noodles + huge box of sautéed pea shoots. Delicious, all. Leftovers are what we're looking forward to for our next several meals. Plus two kinds of Chinese desserts that she threw in for free...black sesame, and red bean. We'd definitely return.
We live just about three blocks from Yan Yan. It's a nice little walk to & from once you've called in your meal. On a rainy day, their soups make a great comfort food and with the large portions, an order or two could last you the entire storm. This place always makes you feel welcome, pick-up or eat-in. Though another storm has begun, I might place an order and pick it up anyway. It's definitely worth braving the storm! Ok, now I'm hungry!!! *runs off to call Yan Yan* ;) :D <3
Large portion - Chinese Seafood restaurant. Five types of desert all free of charge include with dinner: black sesame 👍, black Jello👍, mango pudding, red bean👍, green bean. No parking lot, look for free parking on the street. November 2019.
Best services, not expensive price, family Chinese small restaurant. If you want to go eat, you have to make reservations first. High recommend 👍👍😋😋
We are visitors from Michigan. With cravings for Cantonese food we googled good Cantonese food in the area and found this one and I must say I am glad we decided to come here. Not only the food was fresh and delicious, staff was super friendly and treated us like a family and gave us complimentary entrees. Our lobster with noodles entree was huge we were so impressed! Black sesame dessert was also good. We are not big fan of chicken feet but their complimentary chicken feet was so delicious as well! Thank you for the wonderful food and service I will definitely return next time I come here!
My family's favorite Cantonese restaurant (since I was a kid) in Chinatown turned into a wine bar, we never thought we'd find anything comparable. My cousin ran across Yan Yan's when she lived around the corner. They are super nice, and the food is the closest to my childhood comfort food that we've found. We picked up a big order from them since this is the first time in over a year the family has been able to get together now that we're all vaccinated! Walnut prawns: not too much sauce, good sized prawns, we ordered two and it went immediately. Black bean clams: such good sauce, and the clams aren't tiny like some places. Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce: cooked to just the right texture, I liked the oyster sauce being on the side cause sometimes it gets a little overpowering. Salt and pepper pork spare ribs: So good! They were crunchy with just the right amount of flavor. Good portions on everything (and giant portions on many things) We recently moved out of town, but will definitely come back when we can.
My family's go to spot for all occasions. Complimentary chicken feet for appetizer and desserts to finish your meal. Food has always been on point and have came out in a timely manner. The boss lady is friendly, jolly and checks up on guests to make sure everything is good. Definitely a spot to eat at for any type of gatherings
good food at decent prices. everyone enjoyed the Kyoto ribs(I think that's what it's called in English) however I prefer the salt & pepper ribs. the red bean & black sesame pudding was yummy!

The food is good. The service is OK when they're not so busy. Sometimes can be very slow.
Family style cooking and excellent food, decent service but a little bit noisy
Good food, typical hole in the wall. Very loud and so so service. Go to get fed!
Solid place for comfort food (fried ribs plate is amazing, half sauce, half dry)
good prices and very friendly staff. i enjoy the unlimited dessert!!!
Love their mixed pork chop! Friendly staff! Huge portions
Great food, huge portion, parking can be tough
Excellent Chinese Cantonese food and great service .
Waiting for a long time to get service. Food quality is ok
Great place to have a family Chinese dinner
Good ol Chinese food with nice big portions and delicious foods
The best dish 3 layers pork in town!
Food is good for a typical low cost Chinese restaurant but they do take awhile to get served
Good Chinese food. Locals love it. I mean Chinese people of course :)

I love the food here. It's a nice spot for family dinners, if you don't mind the noise. Always good idea to have a reservation if you don't like waiting.
Foods are above average not the best but definitely above average especially when you can eat them just coming out from their kitchen right away. Another plus from Yan Yan is their portion is very generous. Their desserts were not impressive since the first time we are there years ago until last time maybe a month ago. Last time all their desserts tasted insanely good. Wonder their desserts chef was changed.

Typical Chinese restaurant specialized in Cantonese food fanfare. Service prompted and courteous! Reasonable price.
Good for large family gatherings. Takes reservations. Staff makes efforts to make sure customers leave with a good experience
It's OK Chinese food, pretty standard. A bit much with the MSG but it's pretty much with all Chinese restaurants. Salt/ sweet and sour pork is a good try here.
Good food and large portions. However only one person takes orders and we were ignored several times
The food is REALLY good<3 there is a complementary soup and desserts. But three stars for the parking and cleanliness of the place.
Decent Chinese food. We tried to get the attention of a few waitresses to order, but they just nodded. I think the owner (?) is the only one that takes orders. Anyway, she definitely tries to up-sell you on food. She is very nice, though. Some of the wait staff seems like they would rather be elsewhere.

Came here for lunch, crowded, lots of construction workers, big portion but not that tasty.
Made a reservation a week ahead for mother's day. They were totally unprepared for that day. Waited 1 hour after ordering our dishes, we still were not served. Even when other people who came in later than us were be served. Will never give this is place a 2nd chance.
Don't bother. I ordered to go and was told it would take 40 mins. Okay sure. I will wait. My kid is hungry but at least I know its only 40 mins. 40 mins later I call and check if the order is ready and was told its almost ready. At 60 mins, we called back and was told its getting cooked now. At 80 mins, I get there and still had to wait another 10 mins. So yeah 90 minutes of total wait for 1 noodle 1 fried rice and 1 spare rib. I don't care if the food is good or not but the wait was unacceptable. Oh, and the spare rib dish was not the right one.
We had a reservation at 5:00pm but we were let in at 5:20. Then we waited two hours and all we got was the tea, I assume complimentary chicken feet, and the 2 sodas we ordered. Two hours of waiting should not be happening. I understand that on the day we went was a holiday and restaurants are busy but you got to know how to serve properly.
