AMAZING sandwiches. We just got to Paris from New York and honestly this was better than anything Katz could serve you! MUST MUST try. Pro tip: go hungover for the best experience

J

You can get a crepe or a baguette stuffed with veggies, cured meat, and cheese which makes for a fantastic and filling meal that feels very European. Each order is made meticulously by hand and seating inside is limited so plan accordingly if there is a queue. Prices are reasonable but it costs €1.50 to eat in as opposed to getting it to go. Staff are friendly and able to accommodate non French speaking guests. The menu is written in French on a chalkboard so it's easier to just talk with the people at the counter and ask for advice.

Can a sandwich be transcendant? This little shop might make you a believer. This is a hole in the wall place. If you did not know to look for it, you would just pass by. Friendly English speaking staff. Helped me with the menu. Small seating area, most service was take out. Menu, few options, simple choices. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I had ham, cheese, sauteed onions, and avocado, toasted. It was delicious. So good that my eyes rolled back in my head, felt like I was dreaming. I sort of "came to" an hour later in a coffee shop a few blocks away... I will return.

Extremely delicious and satisfying! I ordered a regular toasted Miam Miam with all the veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, mushroom, caramelized onions, avocado and chives), canal cheese and pastrami. Crispy warm bread, melting cheese, fresh veggies, what else can I ask for? Maybe a better wrap so that I don’t make a mess. Lol~ Be prepared for a line, which doesn’t move very fast;)

Amazing custom sandwiches! 🥪 Easily a 5-star review. You first select the size (regular or large), veggies, cheese, and a protein. I would suggest all veggies, they include avocado. Both cheeses are amazing, I got Comte. Then the meat I chose was smoked Spanish beef. It’s like a beef prosciutto. It was amazing. Finally, you can get it toasted or fresh. I would suggest toasted if you plan on eating it right away. By the way, the staff are all very friendly! Thank you!

The staff is extremely warm and friendly, and spoke very good English. To avoid a long queue, you should go prior to 1130am. I waited for about 10 minutes and received my sandwich (to go) about 10 minutes later too. You can head to the park nearby for a nice outdoor lunch. The sandwich is not “life changing” as some had mentioned; there is no such thing, but it was very delicious indeed.

Fresh & delicious sandwich! Nice staff - tips: go there at 9am (as first queue) so you do not have to queue up

We got the big Miam Miam and split it in two - and that was enough for the both of us… that’s how big this sandwich is. It’s very tasty, and for the price point, they definitely load you up on the toppings. They give you 10+ slices of fresh cheese! Note, if you ask for toasted, they toast the entire sandwich, lettuce and all, so if you don’t like the warm veggies, don’t toast it. Once you order, it takes about 10 mins before you get your sandwich. It’s worth the wait. It definitely gets busy so get there early so you can spend the rest of your day doing things that don’t involve lining up. It’s a good late breakfast meal to have before exploring the market next door or the shops in Marais.

There is a big line. We waited about an hour to have the food in our hands, but curiously it was worth it. Super nice staff and delicious sandwich, made with fresh ingredients. It is a big dose (very good price-quality relationship). If you don't mind waiting, I recommend it.

The best sandwich I’ve ever had! We did have to wait for an hour and a half on a busy Saturday, but we got to talk with Monsieur Alain himself, and he let us sample the cheeses before placing our order. I literally still have dreams about this sandwich.

T
Tatyana Kolpakova

Wow, I’m normally very fussy about sandwhiches as most of them end up being dry and boring. This one is just insanely juicy and tasty 😍 so much cheese and flavor

P

The sandwich was delicious. There was no English menu, it was a little intimidating for me to order as a tourist. Luckily, the staff was able to guide me through creating the sandwich. highly recommended.

R
Rachael Wallace

One of the most delicious sandwiches I’ve had. It was huge and reasonably priced. Will need to come here again for another one. Came around 10am and there was no line and there was maybe one table seated. Waited 10 minutes for our food. Overall I recommend especially if you go early and don’t have to wait in line!

Hands down the best sandwich i have eaten. All ingredients were bio and fresh, cheese was incredible and they even gave us a piece of each type to try it out. Price is good for paris standards.

Delicious sandwich, quick service. Big enough to share between two but recommend getting your own ;) we opted for the proscuitto with all the toppings and Comte cheese.

M
Monique Fernandez

Best sandwich in Paris. Go early to avoid queue [there’s even a queue after lunch like at 3pm so I’d recommend 11.30am or before - they open at 9]. A toasted sandwich with Comte cheese and all the vegetables is my favourite. Eat the sandwiches in a nice little park nearby called Square du temple Elie Wiesel

A
Abdul Aziz Al-Amin

Voted to be the best sandwich in Paris and I can see why and fully agree. Perfect bread with generous portions of meat, veggies and toppings. Simple but works perfectly in a sandwich. Refreshingly polite and helpful employees and the owner himself. Definitely recommend if I'm Paris.

Y
Yuliya Karanouskaya

Definitely one of the best sandwiches I have ever tried! Such a generous combination of fresh baguette, vegetables, delicious ham and cheese of really high quality, all toasted - absolutely delicious. And this is for roughly 10 euros, just crazy value for money! Highly recommended.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in Paris—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. It’s a hidden gem, just a humble hole-in-the-wall spot, but absolutely worth the wait and the hype!

L
Lidor Bracha

I never had such a good experience with a sandwich. It was so epic that words can not describe. The cheese is soooo good and the prosciutto was so tasty, the bread was in a really high level. You must go there.

V
Victor Ariza

But expensive for a sandwich but they’re pretty big, stuffed with lots of meat and cheese so overall worth it considering you’re in the heart of paris. Alain the boss has his little character …don’t feel offended when he talks to you 😂. Go early (12pm) because otherwise it’s 45min wait.

J

Got a delicious sandwich filled with pastrami (an extra €2.50), Comté, sautéed onions, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, toasted to perfection. I went to the shop around 10.30am and didn't have to wait to have my sandwich prepared. It was too early to eat my sandwich, so I popped my sandwich in a plastic zip bag (I came prepared!) and enjoyed the sights of Paris until it came time to sit in a park and enjoy it. The sandwich was delicious and I'm eager to come back to grab another soon, the exact same or something different. I ate the entire sandwich in one sitting and I was full for the rest of the day even after a lot of walking. The shop was having issues with their card payment system, which tripped up a few people coming in after me, but it's never a bad idea to have a bit of the local currency on you for times like this. There are a few tables inside the shop to eat in, but I think it does cost a few Euros more to do so.

P
Peter Batt

Had a really really nice pastrami sandwich, with all the veggies. Super tasty and generous serving of meat. Coffee wasn't amazing, but that's not what the place is known for and also I asked for flat white, which threw them off a bit. Definitely recommend for it's sandwiches

J

It’s not often that somewhere lives up to the hype but here did for me. Panini style miam miam sandwich was amazing. Delicious, fresh and filling. I chose ham but also have pastrami, prosciutto, chicken and fish options. Then you pick your veggies - lettuce, grilled onions, tomato, mushrooms and/or avocado. Then finally, select your cheese. Line to order counter was about 30 people deep but took only about 15 minutes. Then after order, waited outside for sandwich for about 10 minutes. I didn’t mind the wait at all because the sandwich was delicious. I’ve included a photo of the sandwich wrapped before I dove into it. BTW, you can pay an extra 1.50 euros to eat inside the tiny shop if you can find a chair at a shared table, or simply walk 5 minutes to the local park and sit on bench to enjoy your sandwich….

M
Marina Attia

Really great sandwich. You pick your meat, cheese, veggies and if you want it toasted. It’s on a really nice bread and comes toasted.

M

Hands down best sandwich in Paris! Chez Alain Miam Miam is a must if you visit Paris! Location: It is located 26 Rue Charlot, there is few seatings inside. There is a line when I went and you have to be patient because the store was small. Service: they can actually explain the menu cause the two cheese option im not familiar with. He also let me taste it first. You order and you wait outside the store to be called. Food: I ordered their sandwich. My sandwich includes all the veggies and yes with avocado. Cantal cheese which is tastes like a real cheese. And Cecina which is a smoked beef. Omg the combination was phenomenal. The beef was perfect seasoning and not salty. They toasted it and make it crunchy. One bite you would want another bite hahaha Price rating: 7/10. Not bad for a great sandwich. Definitely will come back to get a sandwich here again!!

We learned about this place from a YouTube video on places to eat in Paris. This restaurant did not disappoint. The owner was very friendly. The food was great too! It’s worth the trip off the beaten path.

D

When I arrived, there was a queue, so I waited about 15 minutes—not too bad. Once inside, I ordered the Miam Miam sandwich with jambon. It was huge, packed with ingredients, and absolutely delicious! I was completely full after finishing it. The price was a bit on the touristy side, but definitely worth it. Despite the place being packed, the staff was really friendly, gave me time to choose.

Food was absolutely amazing. Definitely a busy popular place. Felt very welcoming.

Best sandwiches I had at Paris. Tried the Pastrami & the Cecina and we recommend the Pastrami meat with the Cantal cheese 100% killer combo. The lemonade available pairs great with the sandwich. The servers were very nice as well.

E
Emily Tan

Best sandwich I had in Paris! Nicely toasted and the saltiness from the ham and cheese balances very well. It's quite a big piece but they were nice to help us cut into 2 pieces. Came early and there was no queue. When it was closer to 12pm, a queue was forming outside. There are seats inside but limited.

K
Kevin Zeng

Long line, great sandwich only toasted, free sample and is it worth it? Maybe. You can’t honestly go with hot sandwich with cheese and meat. It can be a little messy to eat though. The line can be unbelievable long and not sure if it’s worth it.

E
Eeyong Ho

I discovered this amazing spot on Instagram, and everyone was raving about it! I decided to swing by during lunch hour, and even though there was a long line, it moved quickly. Let me tell you about the lady who made my sandwich—she was absolutely generous with the sauce and cheese and meat ! The first bite was pure magic, melting in my mouth with an explosion of flavor! It was simply fantastic! Oh ya, forget to mentioned, to dine in will have extra cost, due to limited space.

R
Raymond Chenon

I arrived on Saturday afternoon. I went to marché des enfants rouges only for this sandwich shop. The shop is outside the market, on a nearby street. I was waiting in a line for 30 minutes. the owner Alain talks with customers and regulates the line. After 17h, they don't take more customers. Inside , I ordered the customized sandwich. 5 people prepare sandwichs. Ask for toasted (toasté). Was the wait worth ? I took the extra pastrami (+2€) sandwich (15€ total + a socca (3€). The socca was really good, chickpea crêpe tastes like buckwheat crêpe, les crispy, more dense. The sandwich was warm , crunchy, well filled . It had all the ingredients. Will I come back ? Yes, not everyday.

B
Benjamin Ewell

Loved this place. Not sure what you could complain about except the line, but honestly the queue means it’s good, and even the wait isn’t that bad. It gives you time to contemplate your order. Also you can talk to the guy who manages the queue outside, he’s funny and he’ll give you cheese samples. You basically build your own sandwich, choice of six or so meats, two cheeses, and greens/tomato/avocado/sautéed onions/mushrooms. You won’t be sorry.

P
Prométhée Spathis

For 13.50 euros, you get a gigantic sandwich made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You can choose from two types of cheese (Comté or Cantal), five different hams (pork, chicken, beef), and one fish option (smoked trout). The toppings include a combination of stewed onions, fried button mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and avocado slices. Miam Miam sandwiches reminded me of Italian sandwiches. The bread they use is less spongy and is best when toasted. I don't recall being offered any spread. As a result, the taste was a bit off and too sweet for my liking. A little spicy sauce or mustard would have helped balance the sweetness of the onions and tomatoes. If you plan to visit Alain Miam Miam, remember to first stand in line to select your sandwich, then join a second line to pay for it, and finally a third line to wait for your sandwiches to be toasted and wrapped.

G
Grey Cook (Grey)

Amazing food, great service, definitely recommended! The pastrami miam miam with comté and all the vegetables was excellent

N
Nicole Yang

So so good! The grilled cheese sandwiches were well worth the hype with the rich and tangy cheese that melts so well into the bread. Portions were generous and one sandwich is sure to keep you so full at about €13-€14. Tried the one with parma ham (you can choose your own protein and cheese) and it was decadent. Chez Alain himself was a bundle of joy and engaged in conversation with us. The crew were also all so friendly and patient, and overall this place is worth the queue and it's no wonder why people were still crowding all over the place at closing time.

S
Syifa Aulia

Chez Alain Miam Miam is probably the first place where I’ve ever ordered a sandwich and finished the whole thing without getting bored halfway. This was my first time trying a sandwich that actually felt full of flavor—especially from the meat and cheese. What I love is how customizable it is. You choose your own fillings, and they’ll even let you taste the cheeses if you want. The bread is also perfect—soft, tasty, and not hard at all. Everything tasted fresh, from the veggies to the meat, and the cheese options are seriously good. The place was packed, which honestly made me love it even more. Expect long lines, especially during lunch hours—people literally queue outside. I came about half an hour before lunch time and still managed to get a seat, but don’t come here expecting a cozy café vibe. Seating is basic, and it’s not the kind of place you sit and chat for hours. People come for one reason: the sandwich. Verdict: insanely good sandwiches, worth the hype, and I’m 100% coming back the next time I’m in Paris.

L
Lilymae

Great sandwiches, one of the best I’ve had, really quick service and friendly staff. We arrived just before closing (4.30pm) so we ordered to then take away. They were only taking cash, not sure if it was due to technical errors or because it was the end of the day, so be prepared with some cash potentially

J
Johan Colon

Very well organized. The food was tasty and the cheese, oh my, was just right in the point. A very nice place to visit. Keep in mind you will have to pay 1.50€ to dine in, otherwise, takeout.

A
Anastasis Karamanolis

We were a group of 8 tourists and the staff was really helpful. Not only they got the time to explain us in ENGLISH how to make the perfect sandwich but also they were very organized with the order. After taking our order, one person of the staff even went out of his counter to let us know which sandwich was which from our order. They were by far the most hospitable and pleasant people we faced in all the Parisian restaurants. Definitely worth visiting.

C’est bon! I saw this online as it seemed popular. I got there relatively early and the queue was already quite large - I waited 30 minutes to get let in and well, it was worth it. The sandwiches are really good and completely full of ingredients, exactly as advertised. The draw back was the fact that it was so busy behind me, the line had doubled and was at least an hour long. It might not be worth going if that’s the case, really. As good as the sandwiches were, it wasn’t the best in Paris. That’s my opinion and feel free to disagree. The staff was really quite nice and they have a really good selection of artisan French beers. I enjoyed that with my sandwich on the kerb watching the sorry travellers who had one hour’s day to kill. I recommend but be warned.

A very good jambon cru sandwich. It takes a while as there’s a queue but the sandwich is big and delicious, one is big enough to share.

Great tasty sandwich in the city center, the portion is big, so we had one sandwich for 2 persons. The roast beef and the cheese inside are very good, the bread itself is very nice too. A very good option to have a quick take away, though you can also sit inside.

I don’t know why there are one star reviews. They offer great range of sandwiches. And it’s basically build your own sandwich. I loved their cheese and their meat. We got our bread toasted and it tasted so fresh. The service is outstanding and the sandwich is totally worth the hype. They make you taste cheeses beforehand. Joint seating inside thou.

I took the Miam miam sandwich with like raw ham or smt and cheese. Aesthetics: 7/10 idk looked like a sandwich Taste: 9/10 pretty good ngl Crunchyness: 8 Price: 6/10 13,5€ seems kinda alot, but it was very good so maybe fair So Grand Total: 7,5/10 Honorable mentions: super Service, it was raining while I was waiting outside for the sandwich and they offered me an umbrella 🦹, so service 10/10 Would I go there again? prob not, but only cause of the price

Was on our list of must haves when in Paris. Always a line because the sandwiches are fantastic. Got a seat inside to enjoy the food. The man himself not only running register and chatting with guests, came out on the floor and cleaned and wiped a table so guests did not have to wait. Impressive food and hospitality.

One dish so French is Crepe, either sweet or savory they are super yummy. The savory ones are called Galettes and you should come to try it at Chez Alain Miam Miam in 3rd Arrondissement neat the famous market “Marché des enfants rouges” Here food is super fresh, tasty and at excellent-value. A must try if you enjoy sandwich and cheese 🤩 Portion is big, I split one with my mom. My only recommendation is to come early to try the yumminess without waiting in line! We got there around 9:45am on a Wednesday and was first in line to be served. Met and talked with the owner - very pleasant and funny guy! Thank you for the great experience, keep up the good work!

Chez Alain Miam Miam....what is there not to like. This place is always busy. Why? Because the sandwiches are absolutely the best in Paris! Alain has made sure that his staff keep to his happy, honest food, and funny outlook. I have never ever had a bad experience in over 6 years of eating there. Everything is yummy, and there is a nice park nearby to enjoy your meal. I very very highly recommend this place as this is a hidden gem in Paris. Thank you Alain for such a great dining experience always!

One of the best sandwiches we had in Paris! I really appreciated the addition of fresh vegetables and the fact that it was toasted — it gave it a panini-like quality that set it apart. We went early in the morning and avoided any lines or crowds, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth it!

Worth the wait! Can customize your sandwich with your meat selection, veggie, cheese and toast/not toasted. Line moves quick so make sure you make your mind up quickly! They charge extra to eat inside too. Such a unique sandwich - can’t wait to come back 😍

Yes waited in line. You live in a city and it’s a well known small sandwich shop. I really enjoyed mine. Crispy bread, fresh ingredients, delicious flavor. Staff were nice and I could order in English. Met the owner who was a ball of joy greeting guests and soaking in the love and support. Would come back!

Amazing sandwiches! It taste very good. Alain is very kind and talked with us, he doesn’t hesitate to add a lot of cheese/meat. The galette is super fresh but it’s not a great idea when the weather is cold!!! Watch out, YOU NEED AT LEAST 1H TO EAT THERE, THE QUEUE IS SUPER LONG

k

I read about this place and was so happy I made it over later afternoon. I liked watching the guys make some sandwiches for other customers as I got to see some options. I went with the #1. It was a huge sandwich. The galette was interesting. A nice flavor and probably less filling than a baguette (though I do love a good baguette). The ham was tender and a nice smoky flavor. I loved the amount of the delicious Parmesan (freshly saved into the wrap). The lettuce, herbs, and crushed tomatoes added freshness. It was a very filling and tasty sandwich. Yum! The guys working were friendly and helpful.

It's really good, but the wait is unbearable. The sandwiches are truly delicious and packed with ingredients, but the amount of time you're spending there is taking away your Paris time.

T
T Celine

The sandwich is generous. If you go early, you can avoid the line. The shop is a bit small and dark inside. However I recommend to take the sandwich with French jambon or pastrami.. not the chicken because it will taste a bit bland. 15€ for dine in. 13.5€ for take out.

H
Horacio Veraloza

A great sandwich with a great combination of types of ham and cheese. I got the pastrami though it comes with an extra cost but definitely worth it. The place is small though and it's difficult to find good spots. You pay extra to sit inside

Y

Very good sandwiches. There is a long cue almost always, but there is no way around it. For us it was worth the wait. There is no much space in the place itself, but as its just a sandwich you can eat it on the go.

J

Chez Alain Miam Miam was on our list for our France trip after we saw a social media post that said it was the best sandwich in Paris. When we arrived, there was a line out the door and people sitting in the curb outside waiting for their sandwiches. Seems like it’s always busy there, but they handle it well. Once we got inside, they let us sample the two cheeses — comté and cantal. We got the house sandwich with prosciutto and all the veggies, and we opted to get it toasted. There was some inside seating, but it was a super hot day and it was warm inside, so we opted to take it to go and eat at the local park. It probably took 10 minutes for our order to be delivered to us outside. It was a solid sandwich, but not the best ever, especially because warmed up lettuce is gross. I think they should put that on after so that it doesn’t get mushy.

S
Samara Vilar Da Costa

Best sandwich I ever had, problem is the 1h line waiting outside at the sun. The sandwich is delicious you can choose as many vegetables as you want, according to the list, choose one cheese and one protein. I ordered tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado, local cheese and Spanish prosciutto. It was delicious. I went at 2:45pm and just got my sandwich at 3:45pm. The flavor was incredible good. The sandwich is big. Ideal for lunch.

R
Raychel G

Quality sandwich! They let you try the two cheeses and they have an English menu on the wall inside. There was a line so we waited to order them stepped outside and waited for the sandwich to be called. The wait was not long and I would recommend trying this place out!

B
Bhavik Varia

The Miam Miam sandwich was tasty and had a generous portion, which I really enjoyed. As someone who likes Asian flavors, I just wished there were some extra sauces to add. The only downside is that the line is too long, and there’s hardly any seating. Be ready to grab your sandwich and go—though personally, I wouldn’t recommend eating it on the way. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a satisfying bite if you’re prepared for the wait and limited seating.

The atmosphere at Ches Alian Miam Miam is warm and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. The service was excellent, and the owner in particular made the experience more personal and pleasant. As for the food, I found it to be average — not bad by any means, but not especially memorable either. In my opinion, it’s a bit overpriced and somewhat overhyped compared to the overall experience. That said, it’s still a nice place to visit if you’re looking for a casual spot with great service and good vibes.

Breakfast on a reco…small local hidden gem in Le Marais. The strange thing is they charge extra for dining in maybe because there’s not a lot of space and a bit cramped so it’s discouraged???

I liked this place, but you need to know that waiting time can be really long. We were lucky and waited just 10 minutes. The staff is super nice and helpful, you can also try the different cheeses and they help you decide. I liked my sandwich, it was full if flavour, fresh, inside juicy outside cross. Yes it's a bit pricey but it's Paris and the sandwiches we combined were tasty.

There are two sandwich stores, one in the market and one nearby at a restaurant. We initially went to the market but we’re greeted by a long queue. A kind waitress told us it was a 45min wait and there was limited seating at the market. She recommended we go to the restaurant where the wait was the same length but we had a place to sit and eat. So we headed to the restaurant and waiting ~40 minutes to order our sandwiches. I was happy to see vegetarian options but opted for the regular sized chicken sandwich. The service was friendly and we waited around 10min for the sandwiches to arrive. The portions were generous and I was left feeling full. The chicken was spicy and the sandwich a bit greasy, but great hangover food. I’m glad I got to experience it but I would not come here every week as the food is heavy. I would recommend people try it at least once.

*0 Glasses of wine* This place has been on my list for quite some time. We finally got to try it today with my wife. The place changed locations from the emblematic Marché Des Enfants Rouges and moved to a little restaurant in the Marais. The queue was about 10-15 mins, then we went in. We ordered three sandwiches: 1. Ham and Cheese (Comte, No veggies): Really amazing bread, a mix of Ciabatta and Baguette that was perfectly toasted with melting cheese and a generous portion of high quality white ham. Close to perfection, but was missing a noce kick from some kind of sauce that would be dijon mustard based. 2. Spicy chicken (Avocado, Tomato, Lettuce, Comte): the sandwich had all the good things the ham and cheese sandwich had but the portion of chicken was way smaller and the lack of sauce hurt it even more. 3. Pastrami (Cantal, Onions): I never thought I would say this, but it happened, I found what too much onions mean, I did not think it was possible to have too much onion in a dish. Again the issue here is that I like my Pastrami with sauerkraut, dill pickles and english mustard, and this sandwich had none of these ingredients apart from the pastrami. All in all call good experience, but the lack of sauces prevents the place from reaching that extra gear that would make me want to come back frequently.

The place is popular for a reason. A bit chaotic once you get in, and it's definitly better to take the sandwiches to go, but everything is so fresh and easy to customize. The portions are big and the food is made with care

When you visit this place, it's best to come with an open mind and no high expectations, as that might color your overall impression. If you're anticipating the most amazing sandwich you've ever tasted, you might end up disappointed, especially if you've waited in line for a while. However, both my pastrami "miam miam" and cheese and ham sandwiches were delightful, offering a burst of flavors with every bite. While the prices are higher than average, the portions are generous, making it a worthwhile experience for a fun food-on-the-go option.

Sandwich was great, super filling and tasty. But €16 is crazy. Service amazing though, really cool place. Would takeaway next time so it’s a bit cheaper!

Tried this sandwich spot and it definitely doesn’t hold back on the cheese – super generous and indulgent. The sandwich itself is tasty and filling, though at €15 it’s on the pricey side. Worth trying at least once if you’re in the mood for a rich, cheesy treat.

The sandwiches were average; I think the taste of cooked onions and lettuce didn’t go well with the other ingredients at all. The place is very small with very limited seating. Also, you have to wait in line for about 15–20 minutes and even though it wasn’t breakfast time, we still had to wait😔

Cute sandwich shop, there are three stations and ordering is smooth. I got the spicy chicken and my partner got a ham sandwich. They guided us on what cheese to use. The bread was absolutely fantastic. We only ate a half of sandwich each and could’ve split one if we had realized they were so big. Definitely would recommend eating here in Paris.

The food was very good. A great bang for your buck. The staff was very friendly. They spoke English. You can eat in or take out.

Not a fan of this place whatsoever. Long lines (understandable, but just wanted t put it out there). The staff was very unfriendly with us. Not very welcoming. The sandwich was not bad it was actually decent but very expensive for how they taste. A solid 6/10

We just queued for 40 minutes to get an absolute tasteless sandwich, unfortunately… The bread is crispy and nice but it basically doesn’t even have a pinch of salt or pepper. Definitely not worth the time queuing or the money…

I don't understand why people line up for so long for this spot. Very normal sandwiches, honestly I've had better at many other places. Not bad of course, they are large sandwiches stuffed with a bunch of ingredients but the flavor was slightly bland in my opinion. Maybe stop here if there's no line (that rarely happens), otherwise your time is better spent elsewhere

A

Decent sandwich and fairly quick. Unfortunately a bit overhyped in my opinion. A bit rushed and I ordered a half sandwich yet they charged me for a full. I even said something but they just handed me my sandwich and that was it. Had the sandwiches a few steps down at Caractère de Cochon the next day and it was so much better. There was a long wait and was more expensive though but the owners took the time to clearly explain all the cured meats and cheeses to choose from and no rush for you to order.

I had an average sandwich here. I ordered beef pastrami with cantal (I think it’s spelled this way) cheese and some veggies. The bread was the most impressive part of the experience. Nothing crazy, but just good bread. Other than that, I felt like we were rushed to order, and the man who took our order seemed annoyed the whole time. We waited about 15-20 mins for our 6 sandwiches which wasn’t too bad. I don’t think it’s worth the high ratings. I could make better sandwiches at home. Maybe if there was some kind of sauce to tie the elements together, I would’ve been more impressed. Also, I didn’t love that the veggies and meat weren’t evenly distributed throughout my sandwich. I wouldn’t recommend overall.

This place is a big hype, as it is disclosed as the best sandwich place in Paris. First you need to wait quite looong to finally get to order your sandwich, then to finally get it either in your to go paper bag or seated. The sandwich is quite small for the price you pay, even more expensive when eating on the spot, and also the vegetarian/vegan options are very limited! It’s comparable to a kind of panini, since the bread is toasted, which gives it a nice crunch and warm bite, but we didn’t get any wahouu factor. The atmosphere inside is also very basic and we even had the chance to experience a nice discussion between the owner and an employee…

The food was so nice, we ordered double smoked meat and full vegetable. The space has a very street food-like atmosphere. It was a slow process maybe because of the cheese. The photos are so recent I am not sure where pr the auditorium looks from it was a very small sandwich shop. Not sure if normally we had to pay extra for dining in!

My third time at Chez Alain and surprisingly very disappointed with the sandwich this time. For €17 (additional for the beef I chose), this was a major disappointment taste wise. Very low on salt, the onion felt too undercooked. I positively did not enjoy eating it. Service was warm and quick as usual, but it did not make up for the bland sandwich. Feels like the establishment may be a victim of its own success.

its good but def not best sandwich in the world. they are so busy that they don’t have time to melt the cheese properly.

I mean it’s a good sandwich don’t get me wrong, but definitely not worth the hype & the long lines. Went there with a couple of friends & tried all the different sandwich combinations he offers (ham, prosciutto & pastrami). They make you chose between two different kinds of cheese (comte or cantal) & then you choose your protein. To be honest, the pastrami was my least favorite. The sandwich has just too much onions inside that at some point it’s overpowering the taste of other ingredients. My personal favorite was the ham sandwich however it could use some dijon mustard for some bold flavor. Overall its good yet definitely not worth to wait in a huge line for it (we waited around 40 mins to be seated which is exaggerated for a 15€ sandwich that i can make at home). Overall its good if you’re passing & there is no huge line.

Overrated ... Good sandwich, but not worth the 40-minute line. We had comparable sandwiches every day in Paris. We ordered 2 different sandwiches which were quite expensive, if you are in the area …

After a 30-45min we were able to order and sat down to eat our food. The best thing about the sandwich was the toasted bread and coke we had with it. There was barely any meat, the flavors were dull, and the avocado was underripe. Very oily. It looked better than it tasted. You also have to pay more to dine it. Not worth the wait or the hype.

Tried the pastrami sandwich - not great and definitely overhyped. Needed a sauce to pull it all together. Also, needed to be toasted first then add salad after. Soggy lettuce and salad is not the one. Lacked flavour entirely. Also ingredients weren't spread properly in the sandwhich.

I had high expectations for Chez Alain Miam Miam, but my visit was a complete letdown. The sandwiches were nothing special—ordinary and overpriced. To make matters worse, I had to stand in line for an hour just to place my order, and then wait another 30 minutes because they messed it up. For a place charging high prices, this level of service and food quality is completely unacceptable. Honestly, it felt like a total waste of time and money.

B
Benjamin Tong

Honestly a okay place, sandwiches were a little underwhelming, generous, however lacking spark, acidity, anything to cut through the generous amount of meat and cheese (no complaints on that front) Unfortunately for me we found the salad hadn’t been washed with then covered in soil and mud, I’d go back but for sure there are better out there

I don’t think it was worth the hype at all, €15 euros for a standard sandwich. The lettuce was soggy from being toasted. There was not much meat. They did load it up with all the other ingredients which was great, and the place was very cute and homey, the staff were so pleasant and kind. But as a culinary experience , I wouldn’t recommend. I had really high expectations, especially coming from Alfi’s yesterday which was Amazing!!! So I question the taste of anybody who would recommend this.

This shop had lots of great ratings so I gave it a try and was horribly disappointed. The sandwich comes soggy and leaves a terrible after taste in your mouth. Ham is stringy and wet

Saw lots of traveller recommendations that this place was awesome. Got into a very long line, waited over 30 minutes and then ordered their Mian Mian sandwich. Multiple videos show this as being a large sandwich, with lots of fresh ingredients and well grilled. The one I got wasn't anything like this. A very small, very average , barely toasted sandwich for the high price. Wish I would have gone elsewhere, not anywhere close to the hype. People who think this is an awesome sandwich must not go out much. A jambon beurre from a local boulangerie would be 1000% better and a fraction of the price. It's all hype.

We walked a long distance in the cold to come here, only to find out that the café is closed for 7 days. There is no information about this anywhere - not on Google, not on their page, nowhere. Keeping opening hours up to date on Google is the responsibility of the business. Not doing so is simply irresponsible. If a place is closed for such a long period and does not inform customers, that shows a lack of seriousness. I had already seen some negative reviews mentioning some issues, but ignored them because the place was ranked well. Clearly, that was a mistake. This kind of irresponsibility seems to reflect their overall attitude.

Julian Hwang

Good service but the sandwich was well below average. Given they charge €13.5 for sandwich, it's down right robbing you, be better off going to McDonald. The sandwiches are no where resembles the past photos. The more recent photo are more realistic. Note, meat are only in the middle where visible, the rest of the sandwich is just salads.

A
Axel Playner

15 euro for a sandwich like this should be a criminal offense - 50% of it is melted cheese. On top of it, the owner was just standing in the entryway blocking the flow of foot traffic while he ate his crepe and watched videos. Genuinely don’t understand the hype, every bakery in Paris has better sandwiches than this.

B
BIANCA MATAC

The sandwich had the meat in one place, the chese was barely there, 50% onions and very overrated. Also, the galette had a wierd taste.

this is easily the worst sandwich you can ever find- unless you are recovering from covid and have lost your taste. it was a greasy sandwich without even the basic salt seasoning. ingredients subpar it was so bad we got three sandwiches for 40euros and threw away all of them. Stood in the line for about an hour because of social media hyping this place up, sadly what a scam :( even the sandwich from any random Paris grocery store tastes better. wasted our time money and appetite. Almost everyone in the line was a tourist
