Opinions de 5 Tacos & Beers Albany
Omg the shrimp tacos are sooooo good!!! The sauce is the perfect spicy and not too creamy. The cabbage (which typically I don’t like) is good. And the avocado is just the right touch. The fish taco was very fishy. I couldn’t finish it and typically I will eat the fishiest of fish. The rice is tasty but a bit too oily. The music is perfect. Such a great vibe. And the people who work here are nice. Shrimp tacos all the way!!!
The ribeye taco is Hella good. I also tried the Octopus taco and that was pretty good too. Beans and rice could be a little better, but good. I tried the ceviche with Octopus, scallops and Tuna and I thought it was good, but I wish there was more lime and flavor. But it was good. The service was good and we didn't wait long at all to be seated and to get all the items we ordered. I'm looking forward to visiting again, soon.
This is a gem of a place! I’ll drive from Marin to Albany to dine here again! The service was excellent, and the food did not disappoint! I loved the Grilles Pulpo Ceviche and Rock Cod Taco. The Prawn Taco looked divine.
It is always lovely to see friendly and welcoming Crystal. She is there most times we visit and is knowledgeable and so enthusiastic telling us about new things to try, the things she loves and what's coming up next! Many restaurants will offer vegan choices which just means it is minus something. 5 Tacos and Beers however gives us innovative and exciting new dishes full of flavor and actual vegan sour cream which adds a huge factor of deliciousness! This weekend I tried enchiladas with a tangy Verde sauce, cheese and lots of deep red beets and a side of black beans with vegan sour cream which were wonderful! The restaurant itself is a fun place with plenty of seating both indoors and out yet maintains charm. I love that on good weather days they open up the doors to let in fresh air and a view of the passersby and outdoor diners.
If you love tacos and beers, this is a must-go. Absolutely delicious food and tasty beers. Just great. I come back every time I visit.
Loved Ale’s attention, she’s a really good bartender. It’s a really nice place and the food is quite nice. Highly the Clase Azul Tequila, very much worth it.
The ambiance is wonderful, the service was 5 star, and the presentation of the food as well as the taste was some of the best I have in a long time. I could go on and on about the plating and how the use of micro greens paired with the other garnishes, were not just aesthetically pleasing but also an amusement park for my taste buds that I never wanted to leave. There are just not enough words that can be expressed to the pleasantness of a visit that was experienced by me, so I'll just leave people with a these words in the form of an endorsement or recommendation to take this food odyssey that you will love and not forget.
Visited this restaurant 3 times in one week. The guacamole is by far the best I’ve ate out of any restaurant. The micheladas are so good. Highly recommended. Will be back soon! Thanks again
Was a great experience the beer and food minus the Fish Ceviche. We thought the fish would be cooked, you know, like the shrimp is cooked but it was raw not to our liking. Other then that everything else including the staff was awesome. I will be back!
Had the chicken quesabirrira and chicken taco. The dipping sauce that came with was legit...flavorful and not too salty. Also had some vegan options at our table. Everything was really good and flavorful. I felt that the rice and beans side orders were too small for our table to share. They are more for like 2 or 3 people. Otherwise everything was good and a good selection of beer and cider as well. The chips, salsa and guacamole were excellent. They've done a good job with plating, branding and seating as well. Could use some different lighting for nighttime and some music. The outdoor seating area seemed legit and cozy with heaters.
We were looking for the perfect lunch location as we were visiting town. This place did not disappoint. We loved the atmosphere, staff and the food and beer were unbelievably delicious!! We started with the salsa and guacamole, the guacamole was super flavorful and the salsas paired perfectly. The chips were delicious. We ordered a glass of Mexicanita beer, it was the perfect beer for me as I like a light, smooth and full of flavor beer. For the main part of our lunch we ordered the Tabla De 5. It came with 5 different tacos, Costilla De Cerdo, Pollo Al Pastor, Costilla De Cerdo, Costilla De Res and De Pescado. This was the best way to try all of them. Hands down the way to go. Each and every one was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant!!
The ribeye taco is to die for and so is the chips, gauc and both of the salsas. The tamarind margarita was my fave. Would definitely stop by again. The service was excellent.
Went here for the first time on Monday for date night with my wife. I called in early to reserve a table for outside since we had our dog with us. When we got there, it was pretty quiet so there was no wait (also probably because it was pretty cold that night). The heaters were on, and that was a plus! We chips and salsa, the 5 tacos for the table to share, an item off the Meatless Monday menu, then finished with the churros and ice cream for dessert. All the while, I got a beer and my wife got sangria. The food was AWESOME. The tacos were tasty and different, and the salsa and chips were fresh. Out of the 5 tacos, the only one we agreed we didn't like was the fish taco - it was a bit on the saltier side. Overall, we had a great experience. We are planning to come back very soon with some friends. I guess they also have a rewards program, but not everybody knows that. It would be worth asking if you are thinking about being a regular patron! The only negative was that we had ordered hot chocolates with dessert, but they never came, so we got them taken off the order before paying. Also, it was pretty cold out so if you were not sitting directly next to a heater, your back will chill very quickly.

I loved the tacos but I should have ordered another one. A bit of a fancier sit down place.

Delicious, we ordered a plate of 10 tacos and all of them were good! We also got some micheladas those were good. And the service is always awesome :) a good place to eat with your friends and family and more if you wanna try different type of tacos at ones.
Delicious food, huge portions, and great service! My friend and I stopped in for a light lunch on a chilly day. We split the Pozole Sopa because the portion size was huge, and had the Camaron Chipotle and Carne Asada tacos. I highly recommend for a casual lunch.

I came here right before happy hour, 3 pm to ?, and I liked it! The food was good, but the chips and guacamole are top notch! 👌🏻I ordered some drinks and had some tacos. Good tacos and good drinks! Happy hour pricing is 20% off regular prices. Would recommend and return!
This is a small place without a lot of seating, but there is some outdoor seating, which is nice if the weather is good. Indoors there’s a handful of tables and a very small bar big enough to hold maybe half a dozen people. They have a lot of different types of beer, and pretty decent Mexican food. Their tacos are good, but they’re not so good that they warrant the prices they charge, which is just too high. If you don’t mind the price, that’s not a problem here.

So we went on a Saturday. We were there before they opened and they were kind enough to let us use the restroom. We then went back outside to wait for them to open the brunch. Once we were taken to a table they wanted to sit us at a table too small for the amount of people that we had in our party. We asked if we could move to a larger table or push two tables together in order to accommodate. They let us but they seemed a little bothered by it. We then went and got our food. The food was great very tasteful not so many options. But the options that were there were really good. My brother had horchata to drink and the rest of us just had water. Who stayed for probably half an hour to 45 minutes during that time our waitress maybe game around two times. And was nowhere to be found when we needed her. No one asked if we needed anything or if we would like some more water. Or refill on our other drinks. When we were done we were waiting for the check but it never came so we went up to the front to find out where we paid we were able to track down a waitress that took the payment from a handheld device. And she said she would bring the receipt to our table so after about 10 minutes she came back with the receipt and the bill for the remainder of the people in our party. We did not know beforehand that they added on 18% as a tip regardless of your party size. Not to mention we were charged $35 per person when the flyer in the bathroom said 25 as well as on their website. So needless to say we waited for our change because we would not be adding more of a tip. After we received our change for our bill she did not bring us the total amount in fact only brought us the dollars owed and left out the cents. I know it's just cents what is the principal. We will not be returning. We saw this place on social media and thought we would give it a try.

You know those restaurants that you go to that are dead but somehow still have inattentive service? Yeah, that's this restaurant. I have Celiac and noticed online, maybe a photo from Google maps or Yelp, that they had a gluten free menu, which is the only reason we ended up here on 12/18/2021. (They got rid of the gluten free menu apparently, as they serve churros, which share the same frying oil as the chips, making them not gluten free.) My husband and I sat down and then nobody came to check on us until I finally turned around and said to my husband, "is anyone going to come check on us." I should have said nothing and we should have just left, as that really set the tone for the meal. My husband and I ordered the 10 taco platter to share. While the platter looks impressive, it comes with exactly 2 lime wedges and the only taco that was flavorful was the shrimp taco. My husband had a beef taco and the meat is left on the rib bone, which is something I've never seen in a taco. Between two lime wedges and 2 personal condiment cups of salsa, you'll need to ration it out for 10 tacos because staff isn't coming by if you want more of anything. We couldn't get the attention of any staff that were meandering around, despite the fact the restaurant was nearly empty. I didn't want to audibly yell but when you're trying to catch their attention and they blow you off, that's not cool. The only time the waitress was straight up hovering over our table was after she dropped off the check and was apparently waiting to see what her tip would be. She didn't even offer to refill our completely empty cups while hovering on the ramp up to the bar. She got a $0.00 tip, which we almost never do. Food is pretty but mediocre and service is non existent. Skip this place.
Very overrated! Got three tacos, two enchiladas, two beans, two rice, two drinks and some chips for $107 and the meat was trash and over cooked and this was a happy hour menu on a Tuesday. The waitress was rushing us because the kitchen closed in ten minutes and the food showed they were ready to go. I will never go back or even recommend this place to anyone. Maybe it was just a bad day but À la cart at a taco spot where the tacos are better at the taco truck says a lot.
This restaurant is no longer what it once was. We were there tonight. There is no manager , only two servers and like one chef. Average wait time of a simple taco is 20 minutes or more and they didn't apologize for bad and slow service. The shrimp they put in tacos still have tails and shells !!! It's like they changed owners or management and now is nothing like it once was.
Inconsistent service and quality of food, they made us wait for 30 minutes for Ceviche and they gave us shrimp with tail shells in the taco we ordered. It was not like that before but now they get lazy and arrogant. When I asked the server why they did that, the answer was they changed the menu, but it has nothing to do with menu, you shouldn’t use shrimp with tails shells on for taco, period! Am not coming back again and will tell all family and friends about the bad experience .
