Opinions de Capital Thai Albany
My husband and I and our two sweet baby pups went to the New York Capitol and we decided to get some dinner. Let me first start off by saying the the road to Capital Thai from the actual Capitol is rough and tough. Once we arrived at Capital Thai we were greeted by a friendly server. There was no beer or wine served, but the Thai food fixed our hankering. I thought the drunken noodles were a little weak, but my boo’a curry was delish!! The shining part of our meal was the Thai egg rolls, yum!
This place serves THE BEST Thai food in the area. No place can beat it. Please support them so they can one day start doing deliveries and expanding their business!!
Everything was delicious, first time there and we will go again.
Awesome place.Went there with my friends and confuse to what to order. Young waitress was nice and helpful to make my order satisfactions. Wow noodles are tasteful..Thanks to that waitress.
We accidentally found this place and when the food arrived, it was AMAZING! A must, if you're looking to try new cuisines.
Fresh flowers on the table, fresh food made with care, white cloth covered chairs, easy parking. it's a really hidden gem. I love the vegetarian dishes, i love this place.
Awesome! Service was wonderful and the food is consistently good. I will miss this place. A little bit of home away from home.
First visit. We both loved the food! The service was also great. I highly recommend this place!
Their food is always 10/10 and their staff are so friendly! :)
Really tasty authentic thai food! Took the Pad Thai and has Tom Yum Goong as appetizer, was absolutely delicious! Would definitely go back again :-)
Excellent food and Jeep was super nice! If I'm back in the area I'll definitely eat here again!
Really solid lunch special. Authentic thai food with good service and timing Will be returning
Solid lunch specials. Pad thai hit the spot, gotta have the Samosa! The chilli sauce is a nice contrast.
The food was excellent and the service was great! The staff were friendly and quick. Strongly recommend!!!
Hands down some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Don't let the low key exterior fool you. Give it a shot!
Great service, great food, large portions well worth eating there. Been to Thailand for vacations and the food is super!
This place is duper delicious, and super friendly. I go here often and it's always amazing.
I love curry dishes and Thai iced tea and this place delivers on both. Good portion for the price.
Love the food, people and service. Excellent! We travel from downtown Albany to get their food!
Their duck noodle soup was delightfully garlic flavored with tender duck pieces. Would love more broth next time. Always consistent with their coconut based curries and the amount of meat and veggies. Great portions and friendly service.
Sneaky little hideaway place with great people great service and exceptional food. I often shop at The Home Depot next door and this makes a wonderful little lunch get away. I was even able to meet my wife there, the service was fast and the food was surprisingly Upper scale.
I come here often and love it every time! I usually get the pad thai and that is a good staple. The service is amazing and everything comes out pretty quickly! I will continue to come here until the end of time and would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Thai food or is willing to venture out.
This place, while hidden and not ideally in the best area for restaurants in Albany, is the BEST Thai food around. Food is consistently good, sushi as well. The wait staff are so courteous and polite. I have been working on Central Ave for 4 years and whenever I need my Thai fix, these folks deliver on point. I have had all the Thai food the capital region has to offer and this is BY FAR THE BEST.
Delicious food and friendly staff. My husband and I got take out for a lunch date. The food was ready when I arrived 10 minutes after ordering and tastes fantastic. We got chicken Pad Thai and yellow curry.
Spicy Noodle - he asked for extra hot, they delivered! He was sweating and grinning from ear to ear. Got shrimp cakes (sauce was a touch sweet, so yum, a nice slight after burn), and shrimp spring rolls... not the 'usual' and Sooooo Delish. Lady there was a total sweetheart - even brought my keys out to me when I left them on the counter. Highly recommend. Fast, hot, good portions, five stars.
The place was quiet during my experience but it was the best from other restaurants with all the hustle and bustle where you can't even hear the other person speaking to you. For starters we had the tom yum spicy soup, which surprisingly tasted really good since I'm not such a huge fan on soups. It was a perfect sour & spice to it. I had the chilli whole red snapper fish which tasted awesome and had cute decorations around it but it was spicy (I like it that way). Also, the chilli chicken was not bad either. Their Thai iced tea tasted pretty good as well. Better than other Thai places around the area. Staff was pretty nice too. Great experience for a Thai restaurant around the area!
Great prices and food. They serve fast! The server (I think her name is Jeep?) is super nice too.
I came in for a quick bite to eat and the sushi was served suprisingly fast. I could tell that it was also made with quality as it was tasty and the rice was still warm. The waiter was kind with an interesting personality. I will keep this place in mind when I visit the area again.
I’m no expert on Thai food, but I always enjoy my meal here and the staff is very nice and friendly. Last time I had shrimp pad thai and salad with a peanut dressing. Everything was delicious.
Best Thai in the cap region. Food is so so good. Not much of an atmosphere but the food!!!!!! So good. No bar, limited table service. But again. The food. I get to go and share with friends. Always a hit!
Definitely the best Thai food in the Capital District. I’ve been going here for years and am never disappointed. I appreciate a restaurant that is consistent in quality and flavor.
Ordered soup and curry and had enough for three meals...flavorful curry without overwhelming heat. Like spicy but enjoy the taste of food. This was chicken and vegetables in coconut curry blend. My daughter ordered a noodle dish..chicken and cellophane noodles with vegetables, and a chicken noodle style soup, both also really tasty. Also enough for more than one meal.
Good food, nice place and great service. Clean with beautiful plants inside. It's always a pleasure to eat there.
Thai food was delicious 😋. Ordered soup, red curry and fried rice. We like spicy food. Soup was good. Fried rice could have been little spicy. Didn't mention it in the order.
This was a frequent destination during lunch destination with colleagues whenever we wanted to eat out. During pandemic and WFH I have been here few times for dinner to go. My last visit was special, I reached the restaurant and realized I had forgotten my wallet, staff was kind enough to let me order what I want and pay later.
The service here is excellent and the food is quite flavorful. A major plus is that the portion sizes are quite generous. The intersection to get here may throw you off, but it is definitely worth the trip!
Wonderful sushi. Thai coffee is on point. They never disappoint me. Service is very friendly and sweet. I’ve already recommended this place to many others. I’m picky when it comes to sushi so this goes beyond just a compliment.
Absolutely delicious!! Some of the best Thai food we've ever had! We got the tofu massaman curry, chicken Panang curry and shrimp spring rolls :)
Always delicious. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We all have our favorite dishes and enjoy them. It’s often very quiet and calm
We had the pad Thai with shrimp and it was excellent. Not greasy and they were very generous with the shrimp throughout the dish. Would recommend Capital Thai as good food at a reasonable price.
Thai rolls and vegetable tempura is my go to. Always served piping hot, crispy, and delicious. Spicy noodles were spicy and full of flavor.
One of my favorite places for a quick lunch I'm the area. Been going to it for years, and quality has never dropped. If your new try the yellow fried rice, and you won't be sorry.
I am sooooo glad i went for this place i loved it , to be honest i remembered thailand on every bite i just loved it . Thankyou for so good food .🫰 Red curry and tom yum chicken 😁
I love this place only been here twice but it would definitely return when I'm in the area. The two delicious dishes I had I would definitely get it again. The server at the counters that her name is Jeep she's very very nice. I highly recommend this place.
We had a very nice lunch here. Our service was really fast, the food was delicious and the cost for the value is excellent. I also loved the ambiance inside- they have some very beautiful plants.
Delicious! The best Thai food in the capital region. I got Pad Thai and I know it’s a simple dish, but it was made to perfection. I do not normally leave reviews for a place, but I was compelled after the great meal. I will be back!
Capital Thai has the BEST Thai food I've ever had! My favorite dishes are Yellow Curry and Pad Khee Mao. The flavor combination in these dishes are the absolute best. The staff are always welcoming, efficient, and attentive. I've never thought twice about the wait time for food or to get a table. Don't let the outside appearance lead you astray, the food here is the best soul food and hits the spot every time.
Their Pad Kee Mao fried rice is the best.
I frequent this establishment! The wait staff always makes the experience so enjoyable. Their red curry with chicken and shrimp, as well as their samosas are the best I've had in the area. I love their glass noodle soup as well. Highly reccomend!
Our favorite Thai restaurant! The owner is super friendly and the food is delicious. Highly recommend #56 yellow curry and #70 pad ped asparagus with chicken. I like to add extra veggies in my pad ped and they are always super accommodating!
I had a Pineapple fried rice. It was really good. Their service is great. I had my food to go. The owner saw me and my wife Eating inside our car. He brought two bottles of water out of courtesy. Definitely recommend this place.
I was in town for only a day and I wanted something good to eat. I saw this place had pretty good reviews and decided to eat there. It was very quiet when I arrived at 6pm. I was unsure of my decision until I placed my order and started eating. I ordered one Ocean roll, some Samosa, Glass Noodle soup and The Green Sea. I have to say that I am dismayed by the lack of customers, because the food is wonderful! It has so much flavor and great presentation. If I lived here, Capital Thai would be my go to place for Thai cuisine. In conclusion, if you like Thai food or want to try it, Capital Thai is the place to go!
We were in a rush to find a place quick to eat - we needed to be somewhere by 7:30 So glad we found Capital Thai- it was delicious & quick Our waitress Jeep was the best - we were seated immediately- our order was taken right away - Jeep was very attentive - pleasant & kind She gave us a “heads-up” to let us know a rather large dinner party was about to place their order- & if we were ready to order she’d place our order 1st That was so helpful 😉 Oh yeah - The food was great as well I had a seaweed salad - delish ! Spring rolls & shrimp pad Thai - I wish I had taken pictures - but I ate it too fast But trust me it was good 😊
I'm a lover of Thai food and travel all over where I experience the delicacies of it. Capital Thai is one of the best places I've eaten from and will again. Portion was a lot. Taste was delicious. Presentation was appealing and I was truly satisfied. They did my order as requested to the details. Will be eating there again when next in area. Thank You for your services.
Peaceful & friendly atmosphere; aesthetically pleasant decor. Very friendly and the menu plates have been consistently excellent. A must visit again urge overcomes me at times although they're across the city - worth the trip.
Ordered fried calamari with plum sauce and we had 3 rolls of sushi as well. Definitely some of the best sushi Albany has to offer. Prices were so cheap too!Food came out very quick, service was also very friendly. Was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem on Central Ave.
This place is amazing, best Thai food I’ve had in Albany. The owner takes such good care of her customers you can tell she really cares 10/10 every single time the food is delicious!! I am a huge fan of the noodle soup.
Very quiet on a Saturday evening. Hope they can stay open. Food is five star.
Fabulous food. Beautiful and clean restaurant.
Have been coming here for over 10 yrs. The food is always good, and the people are always nice.
Capital Thai has hands down the best Thai food in the area! I’ve been coming here for years and the Yellow Curry and Pad Kee Mao are my favorites. Whether dinning in or taking out, the food is always consistently delicious every time. The staff are always welcoming, kind, and attentive making for a good dine-in experience. *The outside appearance of this restaurant doesn’t do it justice. The food and service is worth every penny!!
The sign outside is kind of tired, don't let that stop you. The food is delicious, service is friendly and the beautiful plants are a great touch. We thoroughly enjoyed the peanut rich pad thai with crunchy, tasty shrimp. The Daily Dish we chose was with chicken and ginger. It was terrific! A gingery broth, plentiful fresh vegetables and chicken. We easily recommend Capital Thai
It was all fantastic. We came to visit our son and googled Thai Restaurant. The reviews were right on point. Friendly service, delicious Thai Food outside of NYC. Location is a bit dated BUT plenty of parking and once you are greeted by the hostess and taste the food, who cares?! This is definitely authentic.
There's not a better place I've found for the price at this quality, the restaurant is always quiet and relaxing after I've had a long day of work. The food is delicious and filling and everyone who works there is so kind. Great place to dine in, as well as order take out from
**If my review is helpful, please click on the "LIKE" button...thank you!** Great food and great decorations! Wonderful array of plants, scattered throughout the restaurant - makes it a unique dining experience! Update: went back for dinner tonight, and we were not disappointed! Wonderful food, and I'm still amazed by those that grow in such low light conditions (see my video)! Service is absolutely marvelous, and the food is delicious!!
Amazingly exceptional food and service! My husband and I came here to cure our late night on the town from the previous day and let me tell you this comfort Thai cuisine is so fresh and delicious! We both had the sour fish soup and the yellow curry with duck. I can honestly say it was the best Thai food we have ever had. So thankful for the service too! The ladies were very kind and prompt! I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys food!
We were visiting Albany from Toronto and came across this Thai place. It was absolutely amazing! The food was excellent and the staff were so friendly. I completely forgot to snap a pic until I was half way done! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who comes across this review.
Solid, inexpensive Little Thai joint in a strip mall off Central Avenue. Won't necessarily knock your socks off, but I've never really had a bad meal here
Large portions, good service, great decor and atmosphere. Not my preferred Thai restaurant but bastille worth the visit
A lunchtime favorite of my coworkers. I'm not into curry, tail chili, sushi or ginger, but I have always managed to find something delicious here.
Really great food! Service is friendly. Four stars only because dishes don't exceed my insane tolerance to spicy food, which very few places meet.
Friendly helpful server. Good peanut and cucumber sauces on the satae. Good, plentiful pad Thai but the beef was just a little bit tough. Overall good experience.
This is a hidden gem serving up incredible Thai cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious, with the japche being a standout dish. The generous portion was packed with flavor and a strong garlic kick. The fried rice was also a hit, offering a perfect balance of taste and texture. The service was impressively quick, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a satisfying Thai meal, this is the place to go.
Nothing was outright bad, but the pad Thai and Tom ka were both way too sweet for me. The spring rolls were also weirdly dry and gummy on the inside. I don't think I'll be going here again.
The sushi was warm. I'm not sure if its cause we got there when they opened so the warm rice warmed the sushi or what. Only got 2 utensil sets and its was 3 of us. We got 2 menus. Other than that it was ok
The waitress was very very nice. Overall, I thought the dish I had was just ok. It wasn’t great and it wasn’t bad. I think a rating of 3 out of 5 is valid mainly because food was just ok. I had drunken noodles (Pad Kee Mao)
The red curry … separated? Lacking flavor, the chicken was tough. The rice was good. Will continue to order from my regular place.
I ordered $88 worth of food and threw it all out. Among the items that we ordered was pork fried rice, and we received flavorless chicken fried rice. The vegetables consisted of three broccoli and four slices of colorless carrots. This dinner, reminded me of cheap Chinese food that you find at 3 am in NYC. I was dissatisfied, and I disliked writing negative reviews, but it was that bad!
I would not eat the sushi here. I came in for lunch and ordered the spicy roll lunch special (spicy tuna and spicy salmon). I took one bite and had to spit it out. I would not order the sushi.
Tasted drunken noodles here…. And they are pathetic. I had to kill my appetite with chips and salsa. I miss Celadon. They are temporarily closed.
We ordered spicy chicken fried rice and noodles, they didn’t give me spicy and we asked they got spicy one and they forgot to add salt too, service is so bad, not friendly, wait time is more too.
food was good and they looked excited when it came to taking my money but i was kicked out before i even finished my food because they were "closing"
Bad pad Thai. Tofu had a weird smell. Ok curry. Terrible service though. Waitress was hanging around talking loudly about customers joking with a man who then took a phone call on speaker so loud it was very disruptive. The waitress was also in response. Honestly unsure how this place had good review. I could not recommend this place lower. One my my worst experience dining in Albany.
