Overall, everything was delicious and our server, Amanda R, was top notch. Great selection of beverages.
This place seems to have some regulars and caters to the hotel crowd. Cool to see! I had the appetizer size of the mussels and the Indonesian noodles without any protein. This ended up being a rather balanced meal. You got a good quantity of mussels, and the curry they were served in was fantastic! The noodles were also just what I wanted after that, served in a smooth bowl that made picking them up easy! Out of the other things I saw people order, I think I chose two of the best. Plenty of high end top shelf drinks too! Appetizer mussels, noodles, and a beer was $51 after tax before tip.
Our go to for drinks and amazing food. DP is conveniently located within walking distance from the Palace Theater. I have never eaten anything there that wasn't amazing. The dining room isn't huge but it's lay out allows for casual chit chat while still offering a "buzzing" social atmosphere. You can regularly find Chef Yono or Dominic entertaining their customers around the bar. For a real first class treat, make reservations for their high end dining experience in the back room.
I have to give a huge shoutout to our server Kiara! She was absolutely amazing! She had such a positive energy and genuinely made us feel welcome and at home! The food was soooooo good and the owner was really nice as well!
We had a fantastic dinner at dp An American Brasserie to celebrate my birthday. One of my children has peanut and tree nut allergies, and we were so impressed by how well the staff handled it. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and very thorough—double-checking with the kitchen and clearly communicating what was safe for her to eat. When each dish was served, she confirmed again what was allergen-free, which really put us at ease. While we skipped dessert (the ice creams and sorbets my daughter wanted are made in facilities with tree nuts), everything else was delicious and beautifully prepared. We shared a burrata and tomato appetizer, my daughter enjoyed the kids’ burger and fries, and the rest of the table had the steak frite, and PEI mussels. We also enjoyed cocktails, wine, and the best Shirley Temple with extra cherries! This has been a favorite date night spot for my husband and me for years. The service, food, and overall atmosphere are always excellent. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
I have eaten at DP’s and Yono’s for years, and have loved every meal ever served. Today I had the absolute wonderful experience of catering from DP’s. I can say without hesitation that the catering experience was a complete home run! The catering menu was very broad, the price point provided value, and the food itself was outstanding. We had the bakmi (of course!), sandwiches, salads, and homemade chips. DP’s will definitely be my go to caterer in the future.
Amazing restaurant, quality food, and wonderful staff. My mom and I stayed in the hotel connected to this place for the Pat Benatar concert. She unfortunately forgot to reserve a seat at any restaurant and we couldn't find anywhere to eat. Some of the staff, namely Alice, was INCREDIBLE and found us a spot and treated us amazingly. Safe to say, we'll remember to reserve a seat next time, but this was very appreciated. If I had to come here again I would be ecstatic. Thank you!
Our visits to dp have been a great experience. Situated within the Hamptons Inn in Albany, dp offers a healthy range of eating and drinking options. The food is delicious and well plated, the drinks are delightful, and the ambience is welcoming and intimate. The only disappointment is that the entire dining experience takes a long time, from placing the order, to the food being served. That is largely because they are short staffed, and it would help if they add more people. Other than that, it was a great experience!
The restaurant is attached the hotel I'm staying at. And I was too lazy to go anywhere else that's is how it was chosen lol but anywho friendly staff to great ya and take your order. They gave me 15% off for staying at the hotel as well. Started off with soup and was a sweet potato with curry blend bisque type soup. Interesting blend of flavors in a good way. Also ordered the Pan Roasted Gulf of Maine Salmon with carrots and brussels sprouts, Farro, Pistou The salmon was cooker to perception with a crispy side which was excellent. Would definitely come back and order the salmon and soup. The soup was a special of the day.
So enjoyed my first time here. I will be going back. I say at the bar and enjoyed some nicely crafted cocktails. The wild mushroom medley on toast was phenomenal (a word I have never used in a review before). The grilled octopus was truly some of the best cooked I have had anywhere. The short rib meal was tasty, even though the meat itself a little over done. The beer selection was also nicely eclectic - Hopus by Lefebvre for example as well as a Dupont Saison. Looking forward to a return with friends.
Came here for dinner as part of a larger group. Service and drinks were good. The pulled short rib sandwich was good but pricey. The Asian noodle dish looked good, and I might go for that another time.
After our meal at The Hallow, we headed over to dp Brasserie for a sweet conclusion. The cheesecake and chocolate torte were both delectable, satisfying our cravings for something rich and indulgent. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the ambiance of the restaurant was inviting. However, the bustling atmosphere made it difficult to have a quiet conversation, a minor drawback in an otherwise pleasant dining experience.
We have dined here many, many times and have always had excellent food and service. However, tonight. I was disappointed for the first time. I ordered the scallop entree which cost $42. It had three scallops. They were great, but three? For $42?
Unfortunately , the 2 appetizers we ordered came out after our main meals. No apologies. 4 people. Decent food, but all the flavors the braised beef promised in the menu details, were completely absent. Just plain rib meat, white rice and smoky type veggies, which were odd. The Dirty Martini was a mix they pour in, the fake color type with sweet vermouth in a glass that is not for martinis. Just a bit of a disappointment. Maybe they were completely off that night and/or bartender was on a break and low staff?
Service was excellent, and the drinks were all fantastic. The smash burger that was on special the evening we dined was probably the driest burger I have ever had. We were part of a large group, and the food took over an hour to reach the table.
For the price, I just expected more. All the portions were relatively small which was expected, but the flavors just left a bit to be desired. Mussels came out cold. Service was mediocre at best. The $20 octopus app was just one tentacle and flavor was somewhat bland. The best dish we ordered was a pulled short rib sandwich--with delicious fried onion and slaw, and the sweet potato fries were done well...But I could get very similar for half the price at a BBQ joint. I had hoped for something noteworthy and dp didn't deliver
Maybe I had too high of an expectation. I found the food disappointing for the price. (Though, I got one dish a la carte from Yono’s next door, which you can do from dp’s as they share the same kitchen.) The dish I’d recommend is the Indonesian fried noodles that I tried from a dining companion. I was really looking forward to a fine dining take on rendang, but it tasted inauthentic and worse than from the average Padang restaurant. It tasted like sauce was simply poured onto the meat, that the short rib was not braised in rendang spices to let it absorb the flavor. Rendang is often described as a “dry curry” because the coconut cream is split, yet here it was heavy and creamy like a Thai curry that’s not aromatic enough to counteract the fat. The traditional combo of white rice, rendang, astringent cassava leaf, and spicy sambal work so well because they provide AND cut the intensity in different ways. Here, everything felt rich and heavy without any hint of acid or astringency. Rather than synergizing, the pairing clashed. I understand that the American diner might not appreciate sambal, but at the very least the eggplants needed a lot of lime juice to make it taste more “authentic” and to cut the richness. The onion soup would’ve been delicious if it weren’t so extremely oversalted. A lot of care went into making the onions and the concentrated broth. The components were a step above most places’. Please watch the salt level. Service was good. The atmosphere felt like I stepped back in time in a good way.
We ordered takeout dinners for two last weekend, and the food was at best average (WAY TOO MUCH OIL used in preparation, as evidenced by the grease-soaked takeout containers and oily mouthfeel while eating). Another detail was also a huge miss: we had inquired about a vegetable side order listed on the menu and were told it was an "arrangement of root vegetables". Per the photo, we can't believe it left DP's kitchen. This menu item consisted of exactly 10 thin slivers of carrot and 5 green beans cut-in-half (clearly not a root vegetable). In some restaurants you might view this more as a "garnish" if included in the price of a main course. But at a separate charge of $8, this broke down to $.40 for each carrot sliver and 1/2-green bean. It was not just the cost that rankles however: they were also an oily mess with literally no taste. You would think a chef would like to encourage healthful eating for customers requesting healthy items, and take some pride in producing a side-dish to accompany their main course....very unsatisfying and surprising for an eatery with such a decent reputation......
Had a reservation for my wife’s birthday. Dropped her off at the front door, because I was gonna go up the hill to park. While I was dropping my wife off there was a bum standing on sidewalk across the street begging for money. I rolled the window down and told him we had nothing. I waited till I saw my wife make it halfway up the stairs and drove up the hill to park. Walked down to the restaurant and made it to my wife sitting at a table in a dead dining room at 6pm.(only one other table seated). My wife had told me after I drove away she made it to the front door which was locked because of the bum. Now if he was a problem where the door needed to be locked. Why weren’t the police called? You just lock the door so customers with reservations have to deal with the grifter because you don’t want to? We ordered drinks and an appetizer. While waiting we saw two mice running around the dining area. If they are running around the dining area like that, it makes me wonder how they are where the food is being stored and prepared. Wanted to say something to the staff but wife “just wanted to have a good night” so we went to 677 Prime and enjoyed ourselves. Disappointed to say the least and I doubt I’ll be going back to DP or Yonos.
