Encebollados El Idolo

I have been trying to find someplace in the capital region that has Philly cheesesteaks like they had where I grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania. Latin and Grill has by far the best chicken cheesesteak I've had since moving to Albany.

It was the Wife and I first time order food from the Latin and Grill and we order beef and chicken EMPANADAS got to say they were amazing flavorful and fried just right we will definitely be back again

Always drop by when I can for a Torta de Milanesa and a chicken empanada! Their lemonades are really nice and sweet. One of the few good Latin places in Albany.

Wow! Seriously, best tacos I've had in a while! Very fresh ingredients. Tasty fresh made tortilla. I can definitely recommend this place.

Small Ecuadorian restaurant, we got take out food and they were very quick and efficient 🫶🏻Ordered Encebollado (hot sauce on the side is SPICY!) very good!

I ordered for delivery hopeful that their encebollado and bolón de verde would make me nostalgic for the time I spent with my host family in Ecuador, and they certainly delivered! Both were delicious, and the salsa was perfect - flavorful and spicy. I’m excited to have found a spot with authentic Ecuadorian food to satisfy that craving when it hits 🤩

The wait was next to nothing and easy to pass with the music playing in the restaurant. The food was fresh and tasty!! While the dishes were simple, the taste made up for it!! My partner ordered the tacos al pastor and said they were the best he's ever has. Seasoned well and with a perfect balance of tastes. Simplicity offered perfect execution. The dishes are on the smaller side but still filling. The price is on par. Definitely give this place a try!

Just in case you love Ecuadorian🇪🇨 food, and particularly encebollado, and don't know about the best spot to get this perfect bowl of seafood & onion soup, Encebollados "El Idolo" on Madison Ave across from Washington Park is an absolute must. Bar none one of the best bowls of encebollado I've ever had here or in Ecuador proper, and this is the only restaurant my Ecuadorian family expresses any interest in eating at/ordering from for any occasions where we get the chance to eat outside food. I'm sure the other food is also excellent, but as the name indicates, encebollado is their expertise, and they make an incredible bowl, with quick service. They have all the Ecuadorian sodas as well, and ají at every table, with all the fixings for a traditional bowl, and it always hits the spot. It is a generous portion that I am never able to finish, and incredibly fresh. Ecuadorian food deserves to get its shine around here with the vast and wonderful growing community of Ecuadorian folks living in the Capital Region, and Encebollado El Idolo is a shining beacon of exemplary traditional eats. If you have room for dessert, make sure you take a little walk across the street and get yourself a slice of tres leches or some pan dulce from Daisies!! I am personally overjoyed to see the culinary cultural renaissance taking place in our area; no longer do we have to drive down to the city to experience cuisines from so many places globally, now we can taste the world within a 10-20 minute drive, or even walking distance.

I'm normally hesitant to eat ecuadorian food in the US but this place was amazing. We ate encebollado mixto and cazuela, and it was like eating at home. 10/10 We ordered bolon to go, and I also saw some ecuadorians treats "galletas amor'' and Tangos. My experience was good here I highly recommend it!

The food is literally the best, you can eat with two people more because they serve really good, and the taste of the food is incredible.

I've eaten at this place a handful of times trying out a different dish every visit, great food and the serving is so there's no reason to leave hungry. The atmosphere is amazing the owner will actually take time and come to our table and vibe without.

I have ordered many items specifically encebollados and even asked for delivery to my workplace in where my coworkers are hooked they called it “ the fish soup” made of tuna fillets so good got to try, I wish they come close to Delmar to a plaza so there will be plenty of parking spaces

Excellent food, really quality. Service was great. The atmosphere was not enjoyable, they had the TV on with sound up. I had an asada taco and a mango drink, I recommend both.

I tried the Philly cheese steak sub, and I wasn't disappointed. Cooked while I waited, so it was hot, melted cheese and topped with toppings of my choice.

If you're not equatorian you might not like to taste if you having a ceviche don't get the oysters just get the shrimp ceviche the oysters have like a dirt kind of like taste another dish that I took was the encebollado mixto The Taste was okay the fish otherwise was a little fishy kind of like taste because they use the dark part of the meat it's not white so that gives a very strong fishy flavor next time I'll try the meats and the steaks

The food was really good , I thought it had a great taste. But I am upset that I had ordered a hot soup, and the waitress was bringing it out and not being attentive because was on the phone while bringing it out, she ended up dropping soup on my leg and it was hot. She should be attentive especially when bringing something hot like that. It seemed like she was more interested in the phone call rather than doing her job.

The food was good. I sent someone in to pay the bill because I was double parked. However, the order I canceled one minute after placing my order , he put the canceled order a on the bill after we already spoke. I told him I cancel that order. He was late telling the kitchen so they probably started and he made me pay for it, just great.

NEVER COME HERE! I ordered a torta and quesadilla , the torta was dry and had no avocado the bread tasted stale and the size was small, the quesadilla was salty as heck had no flavor and was dry. I went to get a refund and got only 15 when I spent 25 and was insulted by the owner saying I wanted to eat for free… I wasn’t being rude or mad I just wanted my money back it was a waste of time and money.

I'd rate it lower if I could. The WORST experience I've ever had! I never leave reviews but felt compelled to after what I went through with this place. I urge you NEVER to order from this place. Waited 2 hours for my order for them to turn around and cancel a $35 order over not having a redbull in stock. I then called in and reordered without the redbull only for them to wait another hour to tell me they don't personally deliver which was a part of the original order. All of this could've been avoided with simple communication. They simply just don't care enough to do so. You can blame the language barrier but the person working the phone is just too dumb in every language to accomplish a simple task.

Meh…their foods aren’t good at all and the establishment is very rundown.

They confirmed my order and then cancelled it. Absolute waste of my time. Why have something on your online menu if you don't have it?
