Opinions de Lazeez Albany
A lovely spot and great food! The man working when I dined there was very kind and offered to mix a couple of menu options together as I could not decide which one to try. Will definitely be back!
I love to eat at Lazeez. The food is delicious and the service is like being with family. I get my weekly home style cooking and necessary vegetables. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Honestly everything was soooooo amazing. We got the butter chicken, chicken biryani, and chicken karahi and all of it was prepared soo amazing. And also the service was super fast. Definitely will be coming again when we come to Albany. Love it seriously. Craving it again:)
Chicken Biryani and everything was Delicious! Kudos to the Chefs! Single Waitress was Phenomenal at Multitasking, setting up dinner buffet, with in house customers as well as walkins and take out orders. Wow!!
The owner and staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing! They also have vegetable tiki masala which I’m grateful for! We don’t have any ordering issues when ordering out from them.
Me and my wife love this place, the food is always hot and fresh and you get more than enough food. If you haven’t had it I recommend you get a plate ASAP chicken korma is a go 🔥
So great to be here ❤️
okay everytime i step in this place the food is fresh. never browned lettuce. naan always hot and ready to eat. kheer is always cold and not warm from sitting out too long. they are very conscious of their food and love their customers. i am always greeted and conforted when i come to lazeez. i have eaten at many indian restaurnts in upstate ny and i agree that this is one of the best in the region. so if you see this place do not underestimate. also ive seen some of the cooks back their and they look like they came straight from india. traditional food and garments if people are saying the food was terrible before i can understand. but from my experience they must have extremly improved.
Visited when restaurants open back up in New York after COVID shut down. Dining area was closed but can order out. Of pay in CASH 5% off purchase. On bus line. Ordered lamb and curry and beef four meals with Naan. I was amazing authentic tasting food Baklava for dessert was flaky, crisp and flavorful By bank, center square park, phone store, & barber shops Try it out for yourself pictures come soon as I dine in at their fine establishment!!
One of the best Lamb Biryani's I have had in a while. I loved how the lamb was tender and not dry. The spice level was on point.
We wanted to try Pakistani food for the first time. We went for the buffet. We were thrilled. Loved almost every dish they had on the buffet. We'll be a frequent customer for sure.
I've been coming to this place since it used to be shalimar's. still some of the best chicken tandoori and tikka masala I've ever had. Also amazing lunch specials! Staff is always super friendly, love this place.
Friendly service and atmosphere, and delicious food. What more could you ask for? We'll, the prices are reasonable too. Did I mention the buffet? Our favorite!
The lunch buffet is super delicious! Especially good for vegetarians, so many dishes to choose from. The veggie qorma is probably the best I've ever had.
Just got done eating there and the food was amazing. My little cousin loved it as well. The people there were so nice.My favorite part was the cheese bread. If I could I would give it a 105 out of 5.I will definitely be coming back here soon.
Best chicken tikka masala in Albany also the lunch buffet is delicious and large variety and it changes often or so it seems. The employees ask alot and often how everything is and if there is any way to help.our go to Indian buffet in Albany
Best Indian food I've ever had!! Lamb kebabs are to die for! I moved away from NY but i think about this place often. You won't regret it :)
5 stars for service. I'm originally from Houston,TX so I'm a little spoiled when it comes to indo-pak restaurant cuisine, but the people here are fantastic. Food here is good. I would support this business.
Lazeez is a solid staple for Pakistani-Indian food. Their best value is the buffet, always fresh with a rotating selection each day. You can get it to go or order off menu as well. They make an authentic spiced chai with milk. It is made to order so make the request as soon as you're seated as it will take some time. The tandoori is quite good and so is the home made hot suace. I've been dining here for over five years and keep coming back, try em out and find out for yourself!
Awesome Indian food. Lassi is a must try there. For many Indians their spicy might turn out to be a little plain. Just ask for a double or triple spice of you are in it.
Last night I had the chicken korma, baklava, and garlic Naan! Sooooooooo delicious. The best I've had so far. The delivery man was really nice as well. Thank you!
Excellent Lamb Biryani and raita sauce delivered to my hotel! Tender and generous chunks of lamb, and delicious rice. Highly recommend!
I never had Lazeez until today and it was the best Indian food I ever had. I went with a takeout and everything was still hot and fresh when I picked it up. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Makhani, Vegetable Samosa and Garlic Naan. I highly recommend them. I will definitely get food from them again.
My group of 7 which included 2 kids went to eat here. We ordered a wide selection of items on the menu and everyone sampled whatever they wished to from all the dishes, which were served in metal bowls with serving spoons. Everyone had their own plates and flatware, real napkins to lay on the lap. I would say the quality of the food ranged from decently good to really good. We were not disappointed with any of them except the sheesh korma. That one, no one liked; its texture was very crumbly and soft, almost a paste. It didn't really have any flavor. So avoid that one unless you are an elderly person with no teeth and no working taste buds. I was impressed at the skill of the waiter. He knew when to come to the table and when to stay away and give us time to discuss the menu. He didn't try to up-sell us. If you ask him which foods are their best cooking, he knows the answer. We were not kept waiting longer than necessary for our food to be served. Our glasses were kept refilled. And he didn't look flustered even though he was also handling the phone calls for food orders for takeaway/delivery. I'm sorry to say I did not catch that waiter's name.
The food was really amazing! Loved the goat Biryani was good (you have to have it spicy!) the chicken tikka masala was so buttery and rich! Came up here for the weekend and stopped before heading to the hotel, and were NOT disappointed! The doodh patti (chai tea) was the best I’ve had, the garlic naan was to die for! You’ve got to come here!
My fav Indian spot in Albany for a decade now. I’m so sad that it has been closed for so long and I’m not sure why but I’m looking forward to the reopening or the new location or whatever is to come. I don’t like any other Indian in the area and I’m so sad by this . Please come back soon
Excellent food for the dollar . Especially comparing to other Indian/Pakistani restaurants in the area. Service and cleanliness is great . My only suggestion is to add more verity but I understand it may not be possible with offering excellent meal for a cost of sandwich.
Amazing dinner. We had chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, and aloo gobi. Sides of naan and parata. The main dishes were INCREDIBLE. Intense flavors, meat perfectly cooked (not overdone), vegetables well cooked, amazing taste. Naan and parata were average. But the main dishes were definitely extremely high quality, and we'll be ordering again soon. My new favorite Indian restaurant.
We stopped in first for a small bite and had a selection of appetizers, many of which were vegan. We later had entrees delivered and loved every bite. Definitely would recommend.
I miss coming here, the food is the best in the area hands down. Hope they open back up soon 🥹
Ordered delivery (through Grubhub) from here for the third or fourth time. The lamb masala is excellent, muligatawny soup is great too. Delivered safely with no contact, just as I requested. Great food, highly recommended!
Excellent customer service. I ordered over the phone, and the staff member I spoke with was so thoughtful regarding dietary restrictions & allergies. And the food was amazing! We were impressed and will be back for sure.
Pleasantly surprised with this place. All the food was well-balanced, well-cooked, and delicious. We dabbled in everything from creamy to dry lamb, chicken, paneer, and even salmon and nothing disappointed in the least.
By far the best food and best prices, best service in the area. The owner has always been kind to me for the last 15 years. Lazeez should teach all the other places in the area how to do it. Its not pretentious or overpriced. It is delicious and welcoming to all.
I a good Indian Restaurant. The food is decent, the staff is pleasant. Their lunch buffet is a good deal. You can get out of there with a full belly for under ten bucks...hard to beat that.
I've ordered from Lazees restaurant for pickup more than any other Indian restaurant in Albany. The food is always good, most of the time it's great. I decided to get take out last night. I called as they were about to stop delivering, but the owner graciously said they'd still take my order. Took a while to get here (maybe not, I was Hangry) and when the driver arrived, the order he had was not mine. He was very apologetic and said he'd be right back with the correct order. I called to make sure that my food would be prepared correctly. The owner answered and promised that he'd get it here quickly and with same quality. I work in restaurants. Mistakes happen. Lazees made a mistake, as does every restaurant anywhere. But why I keep coming back is the way they handled it. They were truthful, truly apologetic, and quickly corrected the mistake. They also included a gift certificate in my order. The food was better than I remember. It's not the mistake that counts, but how it's handled. They absolutely went above and beyond what was necessary, and i wish all businesses would be this great.
The palak paneer is SO GOOD - creamy, well spiced, and a great warming food for fall/winter! The chicken korma and chicken tikka are tasty, too. LOVE the chutneys! The onion chutney and tamarind sauce are yummy. My bf is obsessed with the mango chutney from here. We've also tried the pakoras and samosas, which are good if you're into fried food - dip into the green yogurt sauce and tamarind sauce! We're huge fans all around! Our orders are accurate every time and I'm pretty sure this spot's going to be a staple in our takeout rotation :)
I love this resteraunt for indian food , they have a buffet for lunch and dinner as well as a large menue. You get fresh made naan bread , if the buffet is running low on something they are quick to replenish it. Staff is very friendly, ok for bringing kids with you. Dine in or take out give it a try even if your not sure you like indian food, and try the rice pudding it's really good.
LaZeez will always be my go to Indian spot ! They are always so kind and the food is always consistently delicious. I have moved to the Bethlehem area where there’s several Indian places close by and they don’t even come close to how good lazeez is ! Do yourself the favor and order from this place!
My family and friends love this restaurant. Great food, I mean great! The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. We have been checking almost every week since they temporarily closed to see if they're back open. I will be one of the first customers in there when they reopen.
Pleaassee open up soon! I been struggling to find a Indian food spot ever since you guys closed😢😢
Amazing, delicious food, great portions and prices!! Have only ordered takeout/delivery but have been wanting to visit in person whenever they reopen. Nothing hits the same as Lazeez in the area, I miss their food so much. Its so good I have been coming to check if they opened back up basically every week
First time having Indian food and I absolutely loved it. The flavors were all so different and savory. I had to stop and take it in several times! The host were very polite and patient, they took their time explaining the meals.
Never disappointed with the order here Thank you for putting in time and effort into your food. I don't think I have ordered anything in here that would be considered gross. Lunch and dinner. Expect to spend 100.00 for a family of 5. I want to add we haven't experienced the buffet option.
I haven't eaten at the restaurant yet, but get delivery/take-out fairly regularly. I really love this place, I have never had anything from here that wasn't delicious. There are some great Indian places in the area but this is the spot I get from most often. Highly recommended
Had an EXCELLENT dinner at LaZeez. Every entree was fabulous. We live in NYC and honestly the quality at LaZeez far surpassed what we eat in the city. Will definitely be coming back to Albany for more. Also I have celiac and they were very accommodating about gluten free!
I've ordered from LaZeez twice now and each time has been great! I've ordered the food for pickup and everything was packed efficiently and food kept warm until I arrived. The Tikka Masala was stunning and the portion is considerable. Naan was warm and flavorful and not dry at all. I make this a weekly order! 10/10 would recommend.
Eaten here twice - Chicken Tikka Masala both times because it was so good. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The sauce was incredible. Order Naan with is, which was also tasty. Great service as well. A bit pricey for the portion size, but worth it for the quality.
Great authentic spot, been in the area for decades. The owner was very friendly and understood our NYC anxiety. Make sure you tell them not to hold back on the spice because he’s use to the bland customers. Chicken kabobs were on point! Will comeback
Have eaten here a few times now and it is wonderful! Food is consistently fresh and delicious. They are quick with pick up orders too. Additionally, the customer service here is outstanding. They warmly greet you when you walk in and make you feel welcome. I would come back just for the customer service alone but it doesn’t hurt that the food is great as well!
Great owner! Awesome food..every time, have never had a bad experience. I make the 40 minute drive to pickup
So kind and soooo goood! Best lamb over rice and mango lassi
Ordered takeout from here over the weekend. Excellent aloo palak and chicken tikka masala. Would order again.
Great food! Reasonable pricing. Established for many years and the owner is very friendly. I used to come here with my mother before she passed 8 years ago. We would drive up from New Paltz just to do the lunch buffet. That wasn't available, but the chicken korma, lamb korma, vegetable korma and tikka masala were very good. They have a variety of naan. My husband had the jalapeño cheese naan and said it was excellent! We ordered more naan to bring home: garlic, cheese, jalapeño cheese and aloo naan. I'm so happy to see this place is still open with the original owner and will be back soon!
I've been coming to this place ever since I was a kid, when it used to have both a top and bottom floor. The downstairs dining hall is gone now, but the heart of the restaurant is just as great as ever. Over the years, it’s evolved, but the food and the service remain consistently amazing. I had the chicken biryani and kabobs on my most recent visit, and both were fantastic. The biryani was flavorful, perfectly spiced, and had that lovely balance of savory and aromatic notes. The chicken was tender, and the rice was perfectly cooked. Every bite was delicious. The kabobs were juicy and cooked to perfection. What really sets this place apart is the service. It is so warm and welcoming, and everyone is so attentive to your needs. The atmosphere is also spot on, and the renovations look great! It is a casual yet elegant space. It’s the kind of place where you can sit down and enjoy a meal with friends, family, or even by yourself for a relaxing dinner. Whether you’re a first-timer or a longtime regular, you’ll feel right at home. If you're a fan of Pakistani cuisine, this is a must-visit.
Traveled from CT for the Morgan Jay show. Thank you TikTok for recommending Lazeez. The food was delicious and service was excellent. I would love if they played some low music.
Great food and service. Best butter chicken.
A must try!!! The food here is amazing ,everything tastes so fresh and homemade. You can really tell they put care into what they make. The flavors are authentic and comforting, just like a home-cooked meal. Definitely one of my new favorite spots!
LaZeez is back! The food is just as delicious as always, and the new decor looks great. We’re so happy to have the best food around once again!
So happy you guys are back open. Love this place AMAZING food and amazing pl Ppl
Finally they're open again. I was part of a hosted party with about 25 people, I had samosas, chat, burger, beef steak, curry, chicken tikkas, and the spicy sauces that came with them. Everything was delicious. It was lunch time and service was efficient for the number of items to serve. Food was freshly cooked and since I know some things take slightly longer than the other items so we ate the whole time and fresh food kept coming as it got ready. It was a planned event and they were well prepared and equipped to handle it. Great value for money. Recommended.
Got a sneak peek at the soon-to-open/reopen Lazeez (same owners, new menu) and I am still thinking about my meal, hours later. Chapli kabob burger, chicken tikka, naan, chaat, and more. Amazing.
This is an excellent restaurant with authentic tasting food , great owner. Food is always superb and the spices can be tailored to any level of spiciness. Flavors are excellent. I've eaten and ordered take out, food has always been great either way. Great ambience. Prices are excellent.
We went to sit down and eat this past Friday. The food was very good and the customer service was excellent! We will definitely visit again.
In Albany for work, found this little gem just a short walk from my hotel. Totally worth coming for the dinner buffet! Loved the food, great selection, and very friendly (although slighty M.I.A) service. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.
If you like Indian food this is the spot to go. Had a good experience, much better than overall my Indian restaurant experiences. There was a bad odor at the entrance but it didn't exist inside the restaurant.
Extremely good food at an unbeatable price. The weekday and weekend lunch buffet are exceptional and CHEAP! It will be difficult to find a better value anywhere else in the capital region. Great indian food!
Food is excellent but a little annoyed because my food came with no forks or plates or anything. Kind of expect that stuff just to be automatically included. Also $1.95 for a 12oz can of soda is outrageous.
Food was authentic - the server was attentive - Masala had a burnt taste - but the person who was with me greatly enjoyed their meal.
First time I had Indian food and I would say it was excellent. There were not any favors that were too bold. I definitely enjoyed my first taste.
Very good food... There's a buffet but we didn't see enough vegetarian options on it so we ordered off of the menu instead. We'll be back.
Hole in the wall, but food is amazing. The guy working there was very efficient and professional. It's on a weird street, and parking is an issue. Ordered Chicken Biryani. It had plenty of food and it was tasty 😋 I guess it is NY, but customers are impolite
Buffet lunch was quite good, and a good deal at $9 for all you can eat. There were chicken and vegetarian choices. The chicken tika masala was excellent. My biggest problem was not enough room in my stomach for more. I will be going again.
The food was good, but the gentleman who was there needed help with service,he was the only one I saw working so he was dealing with phone orders, uber eats and walk in therefore he didn't have the best of patience when asked questions or spoken too.
Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in America. Great local and affordable spot with good lunch deals during the week. Atmosphere could be better but the food makes up for it!
No frills restaurant serving an interesting mix of middle eastern and Indian food. The menu contains a wide variety of Indian dishes, but you will also find hummus and falafel….as well as baklava. Kind of something for everyone! Companion and I split an order of roti which was $2! Amazing. I had palak paneer, delicious, the right consistence with nice chunks of paneer. Companion had aloo palak flavorful and satisfying. Rice came with both dishes. Companion had the granary halwa for dessert, sweet and satisfying and a nice portion. The service was friendly and prompt. Perfect meal for a snowy day. If you want atmosphere and higher prices this is not the best choice, but is good basic food in a comfortable setting. Parking is on street, metered, and can be tough.
Food was quite flavorful but I wish they wouldn't use a red coloring agent as much as they do in their dishes. My favorite was the shrimp biryani and the chiana masala. Excellent flavor! The chicken tikka had great flavor but chicken was dry. The raita was deliciously fresh. I would go again.
Basic Indian restaurant in the middle of Albany. We stopped here since there weren’t many other places open around. The interiors are old and dark but the food was surprisingly decent
This was a terrific place but not anymore. I don't know if they changed owners but the menu is different and the food isn't as tasty.
The food is good, but the rest take forever to bring it out. I ordered 40min before I got there and was told it would be another 10min, which wouldn't be a big deal accept it's always like that! I only go here if I really want Indian food bc it's literally 3min away from me
The only excellent item was the chicken tikka; the lamb vindaloo and chicken biryani are the worst they have no taste or spice.
Went there to dine-in around 8 pm. They said it will take time to take the order and prepare the food. We still waited about 10 minutes but nobody came to take order. Maybe understaffed for the night or something. Heard good things about their food but sadly couldn’t try it out. Maybe next time!
Came here had the buffet and ordered a goat dish from the menu, since the buffet consisted of only chicken and veggie dishes. Overall flavors were a bit bland. The goat curry we ordered tasted old and heated just like most of the buffet items. Unfortunately I don’t think there are good Pakistani restaurants in the area.
Ambience is alright. Samosa chat was delicious. Chicken tikka makhani was good. Karahi chicken was less than average. But, the reason for the two stars is: They automatically add a service charge to the bill. They say it’s not gratuity but a service charge (then proceeded to mention that some desi people only leave $1 tip, that’s why they add service charge).because they provide service? Or gratuity? Did not understand at all. we are out of staters so maybe it’s the norm here in NY.
The food seemed rushed not cook well enough one piece of chicken was bloody...and it was pretty bland so I probably won't go back . I used to love their food but it's been dumped down to suit a more European pallet not cool because we go there to get a taste of India!
I ordered goat karahi, chicken karahi, breads and plain naans with Raita (yogurt with veggies) and lentil soup. All items were way below standard. Karahi was a mixture of thick cut onions, bell pepper and same for chicken karahi. Lentil soup was looks like having everything but lentils. They are not at all aware of the recipe to cook karahi of any kind. Naan were sweet and Raita was sweet as well. Only good thing was plain bread and we utilized 2 breads and white rice to fill up. It was fill up only to kill hunger and nothing else. Please stop providing Karahi in your menu or learn to cook karahi. Total waste of money and time to find this place to order food. I will never order food again from this place and also recommend to all my friends to stay away or if have no choice then only eat samosas from here.
I came to Albany in fall 2006 and the first place I tried Indian/Desi food was Gandhi (they have a different name now) and it was absolutely horrible. I also didn't try any Indian food for the next year. I came across Curry House and they were much better. Fast forward to 2017, and there are some awesome, AUTHENTIC Indian restaurants that have opened up to cater to the large community of South Asian folks here such as Bombay Bar and Grill, Dharani. I found some existing gems such as Karavalli. In the last 11 years Curry House and Ashiyana have stepped up their game big time if u are on a budget. They're representing the cuisine superbly. But then there are places like Lazeez and Latham Biryani, which are still stuck in that time when there was no competition... I ordered from here because of the 4 star rating.. and here's the thing, if u don't know much about Indian/Desi cuisine Lazeez may taste just fine and you might just end up with a visit to the loo. If you are remotely familiar with how South Asian cuisine tastes like, plz AVOID LAZEEZ. I ordered Chicken Vindaloo which had chicken pieces the size of small palms, uncut, fat untrimmed. Boiled potatoes. The Curry base was the kind of amateur stuff that my wife's friend trying to cook chicken curry for the first time made... my wife ordered Chicken Biryani which was a wet mixture of chicken curry mixed with over cooked rice. It also says a lot about the owner who allows this as long as they're making some money. He samosas were super greasy and smelled of old oil. We spent $33 on ordering and we threw $25 worth of that food. My only regret is I ate the amount that I did because every part of my digestive system is hating me. TLDR: AVOID LAZEEZ. ITS NOT EVEN THE MCDONALDS OF INDIAN/PAKI FOOD. ITS THE EQUIVALENT OF GAS STATION TAQUITOS OF INDIAN/PAKI CUISINE. IF UR SHORT ON MONEY, TRY ASHIYANA OR CURRY HOUSE. IF YOU CAN SPARE A FEW MORE BUCKS TRY BOMBAY BAR AND GILL OR DHARANI.
half the time the chicken is like rubber cant even chew it because its been out there more thanentire week. rotten chicken and rotten food seen many times. these people dont refresh their buffet whatever is left over they save it and put it out again the next day. dont eat here unless you want salmonella food poisoning or a sick stomach or sitting on the toilet all night and day long the next day. this is the kind of food that will cause worms in your bowels.
The food was horrible. Not even close to Indian flavor. Chicken was not completely cooked.Rice was very hard to chew. We ordered chicken tikka masala and goat curry . Which arrived at the table in 10 min which I presume microwaved. I suggest people not to eat there and waste your valuable money and health.
This Indian restaurant have great reputation so I have been there today and had the buffet but it's horrible I think it's one of the worst Indian restaurant that I've ever been to the foods are horrible taste. It's like being cooked a week ago or so and it doesn't Taste of authentic Indian food at all. I would never go there anymore. Waste of money!!!
We are there on Friday night.. We ordered samosa, chicken tikka, chicken biryani and gulab jamun. Nothing was good Samosa - too dry and not fresh Chicken tikka - not cooked well, flavor was good Chicken biryani - chicken is not good at all and it’s seems like tomato chicken biryani Gulab jamun - Its better to use your knife to eat them Even, ambience is not great and no parking. The cuisine is indian and pakisthani.Definitely, Its not the indian food.I don't know how pakisthani food is made but you shouldn’t be there expecting some good indian style and flavours
It was the worst thing to have made my purchase. I really understand their system and their checkout control. I showed them my invoice with more than 50 items and they have taken everything out to review one by one so that there is a camera. If they are going to do that ugly process, they are rubbish as people are rubbish. I have a video of how they verified everything until I invoiced an extra product and told them to keep that product. They were wrong because we are not all thieves, we cannot generalize that's why there are cameras that made me waste 40 minutes, why did they have to review products by products I felt so uncomfortable full of rage and that wasn't enough, but before leaving at the checkout in the back there was always an employer watching everything I was doing and I had no problem That he was there. That's not enough, all those people are the worst.
The chicken biryani is the worst I had in the US till date. It should be illegal to call it a biryani, even calling it chicken rice would be praising it too much. Cheap rice quality that too not cooked properly, no taste, no smell. This was my first order at any Indian restaurant in Albany. Utterly dissatisfied. Not ordering again.
Seems like the days of getting a nice buffet in downtown Albany are over. Had to order from menu which I'm not too broken up about. It is mainly the food quality, customer service and portion size which I found annoying. Seems like a pint of Aloo Gobi goes for 11.99 before tip. Ugh. I can make a succulent meal at home for pennies on the dollar. What am I paying for exactly? Convenience or nostalgia is my guess. Certainly wasn't ambience. By the way, if uou are Vegan or GF you can pretty much forget it.
