I was in NY for a show and thought I'd try an Omakase tasting while here. I looked a Google reviews and saw a lot of positive feedback for Genki Omakase! I'm glad I came the food was delicious, the sake was a perfect pairing and the service was top tier. I had the 13 course pairing and ordered the house sake. I would highly recommend this restaurant for your Omakase tasting experience!

Had been here twice for celebrating birthday with family! Chef Evan was really nice. Food has great quality with decent price. Birthday surprise in the end. Not crowded at noon. Highly recommend this place.

The sushi chefs are very nice! Went here for my birthday lunch and was treated very well. The sushi flavor combinations are delicious, and the price is affordable. Would go again. Only thing is, the "Hokkaido milk" ice cream did not taste like Hokkaido milk ice cream - would skip this next time.

15 pieces for $89 omakase is a steal in itself, but the ambiance and the chefs take it up a notch. The pieces are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I came with a group of 5 during last seating for a birthday and the chef Jay is extremely accommodating and entertaining. You’ll have a great time here while enjoying your food.

we recently went to japan so was not really expecting much… so we were really happy to have gotten a really great experience here… sure the chef could use a little more finesse or grace when preparing the nigiris but it was easily trumped by the flavor profile and freshness of everything in the omakase… the wait staff was also friendly and always made sure that our cute skinny highball like mug is never low on sake… will definitely come back…

It was a very nice Omakase. I had to wait a bit for a counter but well worth it. The fish MUST be extremely fresh, this place IS! The rest is presentation and feedback. I am a big eater so the chef gave me a lot more than normal customers. I tipped him an extra 50.

I was recommended this place by a friend and it did not disappoint. The price for quality is certainly a great deal. All of the fish tasted extremely fresh. Each course was unique and had its own spin. Our chef did an excellent job. The waitresses were also very attentive and thorough. My one critique is that if you are sitting in the seats closer to the door, the music can be very loud. It was difficult to understand what our chef was saying most of the time. Nonetheless, I certainly recommend coming here for a great prices Omakase in NYC.

Genki Omakase is a famous Omakase place located right outside of NYU and Washington Square Park, serving a 15 piece course for a great price. The staff are excellent, with them observant at every turn, refilling waters when needed, asking for any extra pieces needed, and more. They provide free hand wipes throughout the meal, and are able to explain the dishes well. The courses were excellent. A favorite piece was the salmon, with a decent fish to rice ratio, though maybe smaller than other places. For the price though, I think it is well worth it. The A5 Wagyu was very good, the slice of wagyu they used had a great marbling and was cooked to perfection. They didn't have 1 of the pieces when we went, but they were able to substitute it for something else which was tasty as well, and didn't ruin the experience. the pieces were served with a dash of soy sauce and wasabi, however wasabi was able to be customized to be less or more depending on preference. Overall a 10/10 experience.

If you’re simply here to enjoy good food, then you came to the right place. The ingredients are solid and absolutely worth the price — honestly, even comparable to places that charge $200–300. But if you’re coming for a date or looking for ceremony and ambiance, this isn’t really the spot. There’s no detailed ingredient presentation or any wow-factor moments. One more thing to note: after you finish all the courses, the extra add-on dishes aren’t really worth it. Everything else is great though
