19 out of 20 stars!! My new favorite!!!I'm no expert on Chinese food, but one bite into the shrimp house special, made me think, "I'll never eat pancakes again." (This dish tastes nothing like pancakes, just pancakes used to be my favorite meal). The pasta/ramen whatever was so delicious, so light and airy, I was loading up as much as my fork could carry. 🤭 Sooo good! I had ordered Pai Gau Chicken for my friend (it was the only dish I knew, for sure, how to pronounce)😋 And he wiped his dish out too. If I wouldn't have had company I probably would have licked the plate, it was that good! another cool thing, I ordered full meal for two people, and two sodas and an extra rice on the side, and the grand total was $25! The portions were generous and the food fantastic. And the fortune cookies were a pleasant surprise. Note: This spot does not have in-person dining! It is takeout and delivery only! But it's only two blocks from the Hudson and the piers, so get some take out and go find a place to eat. You won't be disappointed, guaranteed! the spot is convenient to the M8 bus, the M20, and the 1 Train (Christopher Street & 7th Ave). a couple blocks further is the A trains' West 4th Station, and there is a city bike rack right around the corner! See you there!

I've been taking out from Christopher Golden Woks for many years. The food has always been excellent. They get the orders right, and they get them done quickly. It's a great West Village Chinese takeout place.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade, and I just wanted to say how rare this place truly is in NYC. The consistency, the care, and the way you run this as a genuine family business is something special. The food is always delicious, the kitchen team is so fast and just incredible people, and everything, yeah EVERYTHING on the menu is genuinely on point. I’ve tried just about all they have on their lineup over the years, especially the boneless spare ribs - which by the way ARE MY FAVORITE! The way they make them is exactly how I love them, and they’ve been one of my go-to orders for years. I keep coming back because it’s a staple I trust and have never had a negative experience. Even on my workout grind, my almost daily lunch order is steamed chicken, white rice, sauce on the side - simple, clean, and always so good. This is also the place I always bring friends when they visit NYC, or recommend for ordering in. It’s one of my hidden gems… not so hidden anymore. In a city where so many places chase trends and burn out, you’ve built something steady, honest, and lasting. This isn’t just a restaurant to me - it’s part of my NYC life. I never leave Google reviews but if there's one restaurant in NYC that deserves it, it's this one. This is THE ONLY Chinese food restaurant I'll ever order takeout from and I have been for years. Their food is always exceptional, very affordable, order is NEVER incorrect in the slightest bit, the portions are huge, the staff is so welcoming and thankful for supporting their business every time I pop in, and they offer free delivery from their website that always arrives within 10-15 minutes of placing the order. Really have to hand it to these guys for running such a great business - wish more places had service and really good affordable food like this. 10/10 recommend everything on the menu.

UPDATE REVIEW!!! 10/18/25 Came here 7:00pm on a Saturday all the way from nj . The older man taking the order was so rude ! Spent $36 dollars Then we asked to use the bathroom he ignored us then asked again he said no . I really enjoyed the food here but after being treated rude & denied the restroom after spending money there is wild . I won’t be coming back after years of enjoying food here . The wings are still good tho Been here once like in 2013 and I always remembered how good their chicken wings & French fries were . I was in nyc this week & needed to stop by & I was happy I did the chicken wings were so crispy you could actually hear the crispy crunch when yu bit into it . The chicken was so hot & fresh I had to put it down from so hot it was . Not complaining !! The veggie fried rice was delicious too ! Golden wok is def my fav Chinese restaurant def the best one in nyc & I’m from nj

We moved to the area in December and this is the only place my Husband and I order from it is delicious, Delivery is professional and they try to meet your needs. The dumplings are great but the sauce with them is amazing have not eaten in yet
