Opinions de Taco Mahal New York
Very fusion but the roti tacos are ✌️. Tried some tacos here they tasted very good. Food is freshly made . It’s quick bite or grab and go kinda place The masala fries were hot and yummy..There is good amount of seating and service is excellent. Definitely a must try in nyc
I just went to Taco Mahal for the first time and had an outstanding experience. I love that I can get my favorite Indian food altogether and a delicious taco. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back here again and probably will before leaving town. Oh, and they need to sell this no because this is the best non-iPad probably ever. The cheese was nice and soft, yet crispy with gooey cheese inside. The garlic naan was very garlic, which I personally love tins across the board.
So good, so satisfying, so rich. It’s so heavy and dense and flavorful that it’s almost hard to finish. Almost. I eat it all up every time and I feel massive.
The location in the west village isnt the best for dining-in but I suppose it does the trick. It’s kinda small inside and a strange layout however if you taste the food don’t immediately forget about everything else you’re a monster. The FOOD!!!! Oh my god the flavors are incredible. I give thanks to the universe everytime I eat their food because it’s wild how you can get that much flavor and texture on your palette at once. If you’re eating Taco Mahal you’re definitely going to be very happy. If you’re not, you can’t be helped.
Taco Mahal is a really fun and creative spot in Manhattan. The IndianLatin fusion works surprisingly well, especially the roti tacos they’re soft, flavorful, and a great base for the fillings. I had the salmon, and it was cooked perfectly with a ton of flavor. What really stands out are the sauces bold, wellbalanced, and clearly thought through. Each bite had layers without being overwhelming. If you’re looking for something different from the usual taco or Indian spot, this place is worth checking out. Unique concept, great flavors, and executed well.
All I have to say is, what just happened??? I’ve had my fair share of Indian cuisine, this was perfection. The garlic naan chicken tiki masala was so good. I wanted to order 10 more. Wow the perfect amount of spice the creamy level of flavor with the surprising freshness of arugula reigns superior. I’m still recovering from how delicious this was as I’m writing this. My wife is shell, shocked, and convinced we need more.
Taco Mahal always puts a smile on my face. I’m not taking as many groups there as I used to, but the staff is so friendly and cool, and the owner Danika and her dad Mr. Singh are warm, wonderful people, who as far as I know have invented a new type of cuisine blending latin forms and Indian flavors. I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala on roti or naan, but the Saag paneer is also lit. You can’t go wrong here. More than 100 people I’ve taken here have said to me, “I never would have ordered that but I’m so glad I tried it.” Their place on 7th Avenue in the West Village is a little more lively, and the music is always bumping here, but their spot on 9th in Hells Kitchen also has a chill staff and they same great food.
My Indian boyfriend and I have tried a ton of different Indian places in multiple cities and this is the best Samosa Chaat we’ve had. The perfect balance of sweet and spicy and crunchy. We also got the Tikka Masala on garlic cheese naan and that was very delicious. A little on the sweeter side so it can get a bit rich after a while but the flavor is great. Highly recommend!
Taco Mahal delivers a flawless collision of cultures in the heart of Manhattan. The Masala Chicken Naan Taco is a revelation: plump, smoky naan cradling intensely spiced chicken under a cooling mint chutney—less a taco and more a handheld Indian masterpiece. The Masala Fries, dusted in potent chaat spice, offered a savory, tangy crunch that demanded attention. To finish, the Hot Spicy Chai was mandatory. Steeped with intense cardamom and ginger, it’s a fiercely warm, complex brew that cuts beautifully through the richness of the meal. This fusion is utterly essential.
Taco Mahal has been on my list for so long and I’m so glad I visited! It’s a smaller restaurant but they have tables outside with a great view. It’s less of a taco place and more of an Indian quick food spot. The “taco” options range from roti to naan and there’s a lot of protein options! I got the garlic naan (they have many naan options) with the chicken curry protein option. It was so delicious, and flavorful! A great spot for a quick bite with quality preparation.
I really can’t lie. I’ve been waiting to go to this place the moment I seen it on Instagram so I found myself in New York with my son and we wanted to try something new I know immediately had to come here. The taco was large enough, but just because it was a real opportunity I got several tacos and my son and I enjoyed it. He gave it a rating of top three best foods and that says a lot to an eight year old picky eater. I will definitely recommend. I will definitely return next time. I’m in the city.

Roti Taco with Paneer Tikka masala ($7) - I loved this unique dish! The curry was sweet and flavorful and the roti was softer than I expected. The garnish went well and it was a great dish overall.

Absolutely obsessed with the chicken tikka naan taco. So flavorful and it's only a short walk from Washington square park. The staff is also so friendly! 5/5 lunch!

10/10 food and amazing price The masala fries are super tasty & the roti tacos are to die for Perfect cheap eat in New York City
Was craving tikka masala, so I thought id give this place a try. It tastes like curry , tomato sauce and BBQ sauce mixed together. Kinda to very sweet. Its alright ...... but next time I rather just have a normal tikka masala. I know this place is fusion... im glad I gave it a try cause I've been meaning to. Also the cheesy bread and the cream cheese everything bagel bread is really creative and fun... Maybe this is a good place to start if you wanna introduce your picky kids to *Indian food* lol
When we lived in Brooklyn, we loved coming here. Now that we live in Los Angeles, we always stop here when visiting NYC. The Mexican/Indian concept is :chef’s kiss:! Our biggest problem is ordering too much 🤣🤣🤣 The salmon pakora is outstanding. It was my first time getting it here and that will be a staple now. My ONLY qualm (and why I gave it 4 stars) is they don’t have a bathroom for customers, it’s employees only. I’ve never been to a restaurant that doesn’t have a toilet for customers to use. If that’s not a concern for you - then it’s definitely 5 stars
One of the best Naan i have ever had! The concept of serving curry(sabji)and naan as taco is just a different way eating caryy with naan. As an Indian I won't say it gives actual Indian taste as I found the curry sweet while local found it spicy. Overall it was a good experience.
What a solid naan taco!! Got the chicken tikka masala on a garlic cheese naan — so decadent, so indulgent, so many flavors. You really only need one and you’ll be more than satisfied. The chicken went incredibly well with the naan, as expected, and the sauces and veggies on top were a nice addition. The naan was a star — stretchy cheese and strong notes of garlic, it was everything I wanted and so worth the up-charge. The interiors were so cute, lots of tables indoor and outdoor for a variety of numbered groups to sit in. The decor was bright and colorful, like an artsy street food shop.
This was a nice place, kind of unassuming from the outside but the food was delicious. There isn't too much seating but it's easy enough to carry out and eat. I got one of the naan tacos and I thought it was an interesting concept, and it tasted pretty good. The price was a tad bit high for what you're getting.
Taco Mahal offers a fun fusion concept, and we tried the Chana Masala Taco and Jalapeño Popper Naan. The flavors were interesting and the food was decent, though the vegetarian options felt a bit limited. The Chana Masala had a good spice kick, and the naan was cheesy and satisfying. The real highlight was the outdoor seating — great vibe and perfect for a casual bite. Worth a visit if you’re nearby and in the mood for something different.
We were in the area and looking for a quick bite when we saw Taco Mahal and it looked interesting. This is a nice hole in the wall for Indian take on tacos and a few other Indian dishes. The space is quite small and can accommodate around 10-12 diners, but most of the traffic is carry-out. Placing the order was easy and the food was ready quickly as well. We ordered the following: Chicken Tikka Masala Naan Taco Lamb Curry Naan Taco Chicken Biryani The take on a taco was unique and interesting. The naan was fresh and well baked. The curries were also good and flavorful. Both the curries were quite authentic, though the Lamb curry had a nice kick to it 😊 The Chicken Biryani was good as well - and packed quite a bit of heat - not for the faint of heart. The serving sizes were generous as well - the tacos are best eaten as soon as possible! A good spot when in the area.

You may know the traditional taco but wait till you meet his cousin! What an amazing find, story, and great twist for a tired taco. You are missing out if you pass this one by!
I came from Canada and wanted to try Taco Mahal based on my brother’s recommendation. I had one lamb taco and one chicken taco. Unfortunately, the chicken was not cooked properly, so I had to leave it halfway and couldn’t finish it. Overall, it felt overhyped. We ordered two lamb tacos, two chicken tacos, and two Jarritos, and the total came to $57 — way too expensive for the quality and not worth it at all. My brother was very excited and really wanted me to try it, but after that, he got angry. I wish I had tried something else instead of tacos.
