Absolutely amazing food and beer. Super easy to order vegetarian and it was all amazing. Zywiec and split pea soup were 😱 so good

I love that place! I was trying polish food in a few restaurants around New York City, and that one hit the spot! Everything tastes like my grandma food back in Poland.

Classic NY restaurant, always kind service and amazing food. Update, again delicious food excellent service. The potato pancakes are the best.

S
Sarah Manshack

No frills, but warm and inviting. The food… stick to your ribs and exactly like you remember. Big portions so plan (and/or order) accordingly. You won’t leave hungry or unhappy.

Best pierogi in nyc. We had the potato, cheese, and meat. I liked the cheese and meat the most. Definitely get a side of sour cream

M

The wife’s family is Polish, and Christmas Eve is the time of Wigila. Can’t have Wigila without Polish food! At least I didn’t have to eat pickled herring this time (though it is on the menu). Generally tasty food, though.

M
Mike T.

A classic small diner/restaurant with wonderfully tasty and well prepared Slavic menu items. I enjoyed a platter with kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, and pierogi.

N
Nicole Monet Rizzo

Do not be put off by its homey diner decor. Not only does that vibe totally work for it but the food is out of this worldddddd. And totally cheap! Almost all entrés under $20.

A
Asad Walji

Cozy spot with goulash that slaps, borscht that’ll make your stomach sing, and staff that will make you never want to leave.

B
Bob Barzyk

Good polish ham sandwich. Just a suggestion. Hamburgers are made with fresh beef.

Great place to have some Polish food. I never had Polish food before but it is very homely and filling. The chicken soup is SOO GOOD! The perogis are also good. Martina is a kwel server and makes great recommendations (especially for us who have never had Polish food). I will deff be returning.

A
Ashly Smith (AriadneTheBad)

Excellent food. Attentive and polite service. It was my first time having Polish food and I'm seriously a fan now. Would definitely eat here again and recommend it to others. It was as good as the music of Chopin!

One of the last remaining old fashioned spots of the area. I love their special pierogis and imported beer selection. Cozy spot, will not disappoint.

A fantastic and authentic polish restaurant. The atmosphere is quiet and laidback. Portions are generous and the food is delicious! Tastes like quality home-cooked food. I got the the meat pierogis and pork schnitzel with mashed potatoes and carrots. It was a hearty meal that really hit the spot!

S

Great perogi, stroganof, potato pancakes, blintz...loved everything we've ever tried here. It's become one of the must haves when we come to the city.

S

Very authentic neighborhood place to get my favorites like perogies and borscht! I've had delicious lunch and dinner specials. Next time I will check out their breakfast :-)

Superb authentic Polska food. Great staff very attentive and genuine. Highly recommended and reasonable prices for the quality and portions

I am chock-full of boiled cabbage and kielbasy as I write this review. Some call it a slice of heaven…. But me? I just call it little Poland.

R
Rachel Bartlett

Actually I am not a fan of the bulky, heavy chairs in the outdoor seating area, but they may have had their reasons. The menu in the typical Eastern European East Village kind, one of the few remaining here. Yeah prices are up like everywhere. Decent service. Glad this place survived for so long. You can sit outside, at the bar, in a booth for 4 people, or at the bigger tables at the window. It's a taste of home for some of us.

R

Just a chill little diner serving up authentic Polish comfort food in hearty portions. I had the the combo platter and everything was delicious. The sauerkraut in particular surprised me because I don’t usually like it but something about this one was really good.

S

This restaurant delivers total satisfaction. The location seems mismatched with the quality. Several of their main courses provide satisfactory quality. The employees create welcoming interactions. The place possesses distinctive qualities.

O

Goated polish restaurant. As good as the music of Chopin. Got the combination platter with fried pierogi. The stuffed cabbage (polish burrito) was exquisite. The kielbasa slightly disappointed. Otherwise fantastic would recommend. One meal split two ways was enough. Strong portion!

J
John Klein

Wow this place rules. Get the polish stuff and not the regular Diner type stuff. I got Bigos which is a bunch of awesome pork products stewed with sourkraut. So crazy flavorful. It was served with some dumplings that were topped with gravy. So ridiculously good! Filling and inexpensive! Delicious and speedy.

M
Marianne F Moore

Little Poland has great Polish food! I started with cold Borscht- very fresh, with a nice hint of cucumber and dill. The Combination Platter was also good- fried pierogies (potato was the best IMHO) were yummy, kielbasa was lovely, the bigos was spot on! The stuffed cabbage filling was really good, but I have never had brown gravy on a stuffed cabbage before and it wasn’t my favorite. In our neighborhood in Northern New Jersey the accompaniment was always tomato-based. The Polish Platter with pierogies, potato pancakes and a cheese blintz was also great! Portions are generous and it’s a great value. Check it out!

A
Andrew Straffin

Food was fantastic! A great Polish experience; would recommend especially because how often do you get to eat Polish cuisine? They have a combination platter that lets you experience a variety of options, totally worth getting. It's a hearty meal, so strap on the feed bag.

A
Andrew Poretz

This place is like home, somehow, even though I'm not Polish. I love the people who work here. The food is good, the prices very reasonable, and the portions generous. I usually stop in for a cup of soup with challah and potato pancakes. A couple of times, the challah wasn't too fresh. This last time, it was very fresh, still warm from the bakery. My waitress gave me two huge slices. was in heaven. If you see a bunch of loaves like these, get the bread! You'll thank me.

Note: very long review This restaurant was the best polish place I have been too I love Poland after this first I must talk about the soup (potato and lamb soup) it was a amazing dish the broth was tangy and had a kick to it also the lamb was meaty and juicy which added to the kick of the broth the potatoes added to all of this flavor adding a mushy texture to a already amazing favor I will say this was the star of this meal Next the polish platter which had potato plan cake’s with pierogies which where Fried and had some thing that was sweet the potato pancakes where fine but dipped in the Apple sauce was very great next the pierogies which had a great crunch and I ordered them with all different flavors I liked all of them except the sourkraut pieroge and the sweet fried thing was exactly what I named it but was a little sweet to me Lastly the combination platter which had more pierogies a stuffed cabbage a sausage and lastly sourkraut first the pierogies which were steamed this time was very good with no complaints next the stuffed cabbage which had cabbage on the outside and meat on the inside it was crunchy and had lots of juice to it next the sausage was excellent it was flavorful and juicy as well and lastly I did not like the sourkraut Overall this is the longest review I have ever done in my life so 5/5

A cozy and welcoming gem specializing in Polish cuisine, this restaurant is a true find! The menu is extensive, and my friend and I quickly decided we have to return to fully explore everything Little Poland has to offer. The atmosphere is no-frills and focused entirely on what matters most—the food! I ordered an omelette with toast, plus a combo of French toast, waffle, and pancake. My friend went for the combo main dish. We absolutely feasted, and every bite was fantastic! The service was outstanding. Our waitress was attentive and quick to bring anything we needed, making us feel completely taken care of throughout the meal. The best part? The bill was under $100 for an abundant, delicious meal that easily felt worth $200. Only in NYC can you find such value and quality in one spot! Thank you, Little Poland—we can’t wait to come back! 🤛🏽💗

Amazing location for Polish food. I got the combination platter and was not disappointed. The pierogis were great, loved the kielbasa, and the stuffed cabbage reminded me of my grandmothers.

The restaurant is indeed a no-frills diner serving authentic Polish cuisine. The quality of the lunch special was good. I was able to get a matzo ball soup & 4 cheese pierogies for under $14. While the water closets were clean they are rather cramped. Overall this is a nice place close to a lot of public transportation.

C
Charles Veilleux

Beef stroganoff was really good. The soups too, a bit on the pricier side but the portions are big.

M
Maisie Lokeinsky

It was a great experience dining here. I loved the homey diner-esque atmosphere and the people were really nice. I got to try bigos for my first time and it was delicious! I also really enjoyed the Zywiec beer and it went great with my meal.

This place is an absolute treasure. The food is absolutely incredible. They make the best pierogis I’ve ever had in my life and I’ve tried a lot of pierogis haha. Highly recommend their farmers cheese pierogis with buttered onions. I’ve been ordering that since I was a teenager and it’s exactly the same as it was then (I’m 35 now😭). Absolutely try this place and have your life changed. Also highly recommend it too if you need a hit of coziness with your dinner. The vibes of the place are of a very cozy 1970’s kitchen.

The meal I had ranks among the best I've ever eaten. Workers willingly adjusted to our needs and gave great care. The flavors combine perfectly. They maintain quality from what you taste to what you experience. This place has a strategic position and we'll be back.

N

When we walked in here, it smelled like my mother's cooking. The dishes are authentic and the staff are all Poland natives. The prices aren't cheap but the portion sizes make up for it. I recommend any of the platters because you really get your money's worth there. I wish we lived closer, I'd eat here regularly. Two thumbs way up!!

J

If your in the East Village this is a must try. The staff is incredible and food is out of this world. The prices were not that bad considering the food is all made in house. The tripe soup was unbelievable, while not for everyone I loved it. The periogi were to die for and all the rest of the stuff I have no idea how to say or spell was incredible. Don’t miss out on this place

B

Little Poland is a cozy East Village spot serving all the Polish staples you’d hope for. It’s not fancy, but if you want the Polish equivalent of a classic New York diner, this is exactly the place.

S

The food is great especially the home fries service is great and my food came in a timely manner

J
Jeffrey Zabinski

If I could give a 4.5, I would. Wonderful food - there are surprisingly few places in the city for Polish, and this is one of the best. The service was inconsistent - water not really promptly refilled, for example. The atmosphere was homey, and the food was hearty.

Best restaurant Polish food I've had... get the combo platter. Loved the cabbage rolls and nalishniki (blintz). Went home with a bag of pierogies. Cute basic diner atmosphere. Sweet staff. Love ❤️

This is a cute, cozy diner in the East Village. I met friends here a few nights ago and had a great time. The Polish food here is delicious and you can also order beer & wine. Would definitely return! :)

Huge size of dining! The traditional Poland dumplings made me a special experience. You would find there's old-time coin public telephone on the restaurant's wall.

Haunt till it hurts

I was a little hesitant to go as I'm not typically a fan of Polish food but it was delicious! The waitresses are nonstop but still give perfect customer service. This was the best chicken soup I’ve ever had. My mom loved their meat pierogis and matzo-ball soup. Only thing, the hallah was dry (I’m pretty sure it just needs more egg yolks). Definitely coming back next time I’m in the area.

We loved our food! Haven’t had real Polish cuisine since Podlahanka in Chicago last summer! We thoroughly enjoyed every single bite ❤️ I thought the prices were reasonable for the quality of food 🥘

Food was so delicious and the wait wasn't long at all. I ordered the Swedish Meatballs which came with two sides; the two sides i ordered was the cucumber salad with dill & mashed potatoes w/ mushroom gravy. I also ordered 4 fried Potato Pierogi. Everything was delicious. The Swedish meatballs were covered in bechamel sauce that was to die for. I actually used both the mushroom gravy and becamel sauce on my pierogi, so good! Coming again.

Just wow. My meal at little Poland was one of the best I've ever had. The place felt very authentic like the food was being cooked by my own babcia. I got the combination platter and the portion was huge. I cant recommend this place enough!

Perfect quick breakfast. Reasonable priced. We got the breakfast special, two eggs, bacon and potatoes. The coffee was especially good and free refills is always a good look. Two small orange juice shots on the house makes your morning better right away too. I do recommend!

This is a great local restaurant. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is very laid back. The staff is small so you'll need to have patience with them as they are cleaning, taking orders, etc. You don't havs to rush to finish your plates; you can sit and have extended conversations. It's nice to be able to take your time and eat and talk. Now the food was flavorful but not salty and the portions were very generous. Apparently everything is made on the premises. It tastes like home cooked food. I'll definitely visit again!

A
Andrew Smith-Hoffman

Great food. This place hasn't changed in 30 years. If you're visiting NYC be prepared for a different idea of wait service. I will absolutely go every time I am in the city. We spent more than usual because we had the spendier "combo plates" but you can definitely go cheaper and still have a humongous meal.

How do you know the food is truly amazing? It’s when you’re almost done with your plate and suddenly go, “Wait, I forgot to take a picture for the review!” 😄 That’s exactly what happened here. Authentic Polish food—simple, hearty, and absolutely delicious. The kind of place you could eat at every single day and still look forward to the next visit. Our server, Natalya, was fantastic. She genuinely cared, took the time to explain every dish, and made the whole experience even better. Bonus points: they have Polish beer on tap, which really transports you straight to Europe. Loved it! 🇵🇱❤️

Little Poland is probably the place my husband and I visit most often. It feels very homey and reminds me of the food my mom and grandma used to make. The staff is very sweet—sometimes you might have to wait a bit for service, but they’re always friendly and welcoming. It’s such a nice feeling when they start to recognize you, greet you warmly, and make small talk. In my opinion, Little Poland has the best borscht in Manhattan out of all the places I’ve tried. The food here is truly authentic and really captures the spirit of traditional Eastern European cooking. Everything is good quality, and it’s one of the few places in the city where you can get a tasty, hearty meal for a reasonable price. The lunch specials are especially great.

Little Poland in Manhattan is a gem for comforting, authentic East Europe cuisine. The fliachki and goulash were absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, transporting me straight to a cozy Polish kitchen. The portions were generous, and the food felt like it was made with care. The service was friendly and attentive, though the wait time for food was a bit longer than expected. Overall, a fantastic spot for hearty, home-style meals. I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic and authentic polish restaurant. I will be dreaming of the polish platter (specifically the sweet potato pancakes) for the rest of my life! My sister got goulash and the meat was so soft and delicious. We never have had kompot before, and tried it. It tastes fruity, worth a try. For dessert we had the chocolate cake. It was good, but then we saw what the apple cake looked like and wish we had gotten that instead or in addition!

On a day I was not feeling well I walked across the city for a grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup to try and feel better. They did not disappoint. Quaint diner feel. Really enjoyed. Felt like I walked into a Polish diner. I would love to return and try their Perogies.

A

If you're looking for homey classic Polish food, this is the right place for you. It feels a little like my aunt's kitchen, it's authentic. The wait staff is friendly. The decor is right from the 70's, but you should overlook that because the food is good. I recommend the potato/cheese [Ruskie] pierogies. The saurekraut/mushroom are good too. The best deal is the Polish platter. It's a smagoaboard of different Polish dishes. For dessert [if you have room] get some blintzes.

Humble neighborhood Polish diner restaurant serving up delectable national classics as well as other American grub. Service is friendly, and the food comes out quick and piping hot. Portions are generous leaving one all content and satiated. The place opens late, perfect more late night meal. Come back for more...

Went for the lunch special - soup and a main. Soups were well-seasoned and tasty. Pierogi were pretty much how I remember Babcia making them. Washed down with piwo. Happy days.

Not a bad place. The atmosphere is really great, they had decorated for Halloween and it looks great. Real cozy feel. I thought the food was decent, but it matched the price well. I really liked the Polish sausage they served. For $11.45 I was pretty satisfied with the amount and quality of food they served. The service was decent, but it took a little while to get our food. I’d go back again, but not for a special occasion.

Polish Diner on 3rd avenue in the East Village The Good: - authentic polish fare with excellent potato pancakes - they still have a old fashion telephone, it no longer works - much better priced than the Ukrainian place nearby - nice size portions for a fair price Nothing negative

Just as delicious as my first time! Food 8/10 Service 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 One of my fave little spots in the East Village *I have tripe all the time, cooked all different ways (Italian, Chinese, Spanish, Korean). This one was one of the best. It was melty, smooth, and perfectly tender. The broth was delicate and didn’t over power the flavor of the tripe.

B

Love the homey vibes! Soups were amazing and fried pierogis had much better texture than boiled, though both were relatively lacking in flavor. Will be back to try other dishes!

Good polish food with a pretty large selection of items like pierogi , blintzes, sausages etc. all at decent prices. If you like polish/ Eastern European food which it is definitely worth a visit. We were just tourists in NYC at the time but we walked an hour to get to this place in the cold of late November and let me tell you, it was definitely worth it! The food was fantastic and they provide a wholesome environment. I only wish the service could've been more consistent. My wife is polish and we agreed this was a very authentic experience. Highly recommend!

v

I attended this small authentic restaurant for polish food. There were two waitresses for my table a group for 16. One waitress was ignorant and was acting like she couldn’t understand me and then my friend spoke to her in polish and then she responded she doesn’t speak it. So basically she gave me a hard time for no reason. The dish I order was basic and simple (pierogi cheese)with sour cream how ever I felt as if it still needed to be more cooked felt a bit raw!

D
Dana Coleman

I really struggled with giving them 3 stars as I’m sure this is a locally owned establishment and the food was wonderful and worthy of a 4 or 5 star rating. However, the service was -5 stars. The server appeared to be annoyed by the mere fact that we were dining in her section and barely said a word to us throughout the entire meal, never checked on our table, never refilled our water, and basically slammed the check down on the table at the end without a thank you or saying anything after 20 minutes of waiting. I’m not sure if we did something to upset her, but it sure seemed like it. I tipped her 15% as a courtesy, but this was the first time in my life that I really wanted to leave a zero tip. All around horrendous service and for that reason alone, I won’t be back. NYC is full of wonderful restaurants. I’ll find another pierogi spot.

K
Kacper Walentynowicz

The food was ok (for its price definitely could be better) and to portions are definitely too small. If I knew a cup of soup was literally 5 spoons I would go for a bowl. You would never get one scoop of potatoes for a main… and that for $20 ?!

M
Mimi Fries

disappointing. potato cakes were wimpy with no crispness abd the meat progress, well, I have no n idea what kind of neat it was. go out to Brighton Beach for the real things

J

The food was sadly very bland, yet each dish took forever to come out. The only thing that tasted hot and fresh was the coffee unfortunately. Oh and the potato salad and red cabbage were good 😅 It wasn’t worth the money so I’d recommend skipping!

Service is ok, but I have no idea why it’s rated so high… it tastes just like one of those boiled ready-meal packs you’d get at a Poland highway rest stop.

Ordered on Seamless and haven’t received food after almost 2 hours. They said would be 43-57 mins. 2 hours is too long when they say under 1 hour. Also no communication. May update about quality of food, this is just about delivery service.

Quaint little spot, food was tasty and big portions. By the end of the meal, service was lacking. Took 3 times asking for check and was not offered to go containers. When at full capacity, they need more staff.

It has almost nothing to do with polish cousine and I was born and raised in Poland. The service was nice, but if you’re looking for good pierogi choose other place.

The ambiance of the place is great, laid back and unpretentious. staff was pretty nice, too. I came in on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty busy. I had to go up to the counter to get someone to come take my order, and then never got any refills or other service after that. Food quality was pretty gine, but I don't think the portion sizes and quality matched the prices ($20+ for an entree). I got the bigos and it had very little meat in it, as well as the veal parmesan, which came with some pretty small sides. Way too expensive for a diner, IMO. Sad about this since this spot seemed like a great place to hang out.

Very mediocre food. I grew up going to Greenpoint and I’ve been to a Poland, so I’m familiar with the food. Potato pancakes and veal were decent. Pierogis were not too good, the worst I’ve ever had. Vegetables were canned and over boiled on top of that. Stuffed cabbage was bland. Various cabbage based stuff was okay. Going to Greenpoint next time. I don’t think the other reviewers are familiar enough w this type of food. Portions are good though and there was no wait on a busy Saturday night.

No Polish people work here. Stop calling it Little Poland. It’s an insult. It like having an Italian restaurant where everyone is Chinese or Mexican. THIS DOES NOT represent Polish food. It’s people from countries in the region BUT NOT POLAND. How are they still allowed to pretend it’s Polish cuisine? It’s not terrible but not as good as actual Polish food.

I ordered from Little Poland on Seamless on 8/20. After waiting for 2h for my order I called the restaurant and I got screamed at by some lady saying THEY CANT DELIVER AND I SHOULD ACTUALLY WALK AND PICK MY ORDER !!!! It’s a second time by the way. Do not order from them!! What a joke

Honestly Name a better place if you have one

Baby food‼️is what this place serves you. That or their food are microwaved because the food are all mushy, it's gross. The pierogie's filling is not discernable, it's all the same puree of baby food mush. The beef is like frozen tv dinner mush over mushy pasta warmed up and placed on a plate, gross.

The staff were dismissive, bordering on rude. Food was disappointing! Who deep fries pierogi, certainly not in Poland. Staff spoke Polish among themselves so I can’t understand why they would serve up food that is so wrong. They weren’t busy with customers (only three others besides us) so it’s not like they were run off their feet and couldn’t at least acknowledge their customer and offer a smile. The pierogi fillings were bland. Very dissatisfying experience.

STAFF IS HORRIBLE RUDE AND UNHAPPY CREATING AN UNWELCOMING ENVIRONMENT. The staff here are absolutely the worse. I was told to sit at the counter if i was alone. When my sister showed up we were place by the front and freezing. We were told we couldnt sit at another booth only here. The staff didnt care if we were comfortable. The manager NATASHA is rude and the other staff feel like they can be rude too by her lead telling us if we didnt want to sit there we can leave. The staff doesnt care if they have customers or not. The owner needs to intervene. Food is bland mediocre at best. Portions are small and the price isnt eorth it. So many other great choices where you will feel welcomed in the neighborhood.

The food was undercooked and disgusting, when I complained, the waitress admitted to me that all the food comes from a supplier, and nothing is homemade. You’re basically cooking frozen food and serving it to your customers. This place is filthy and complete garbage. Don’t expect this food to be anything like it was 20 years ago. It’s extremely overpriced and now I see why this place is always empty. I don’t expect it to be around much longer. What a shame, it used be a jewel in the East Village. Now it’s more like Kitchen Nightmares. Eat at your own risk… 🤢
