Opinions de Madame Vo New York
We heard from friends that the food at this restaurant was great so we decided to stop there for lunch on one of our long walks. We went without a reservation and were able to get a table right away. It is a long deep restaurant. Kitchen area is on the right as you walk in. We ordered The Madam Vo and the Garlic Noodles. Both were excellent but the noodles was a bit too salty for my wife. Service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere is nice. By the time we finished, the restaurant was full. A busy place.
Ordered Muc Rang Muoi (fried squid), Madame Pho & Bun Bo Hue. The service was fast and food was delicious.
Can not recommend this place enough. It offer authentic and delicious Vietnamese food and great prices. How sever was simply fantastic, recommending we order afew appetisers and then when ready your main courses. This allowed us to judge how much we could still eat. It also allowed us to enjoy and not feel rushed. Tip, it’s highly recommended you book but they do take walk-in, but you might have to wait. Note: we went on a Friday night.
Bun bo hue was top notch. Very rich and fatty broth with well-cooked noodles and an appropriate amount of meat. Portion size was insane (could hardly finish it). I highly recommend over the pho because you know, pho is pho. Also, I'd recommend adding the huge shank and sharing with one or even two others.
Everything we tried was yummy and comparable to my mom’s home cooking. This is the best Bun Bo Hue I’ve had in Manhattan (although that’s not saying much) and has a great level of spice with no super funky aftertaste. It was missing the traditional blood cube though which is admittedly my favorite part of BBH, and it would be great if they offered sa te sauce. Also the wings are crispy but the sauce is a bit on the sweeter versus spicy end. The Goi Buoi, Nem Nuong Cuon, Thit Kho, Bun bowl, snd sautéed green beans were on point!
Madame Vo is amazing! The food is rich, flavorful, and full of that authentic Vietnamese comfort — you can taste the care in every dish. The pho is incredible, especially the short rib version, and the crispy spring rolls were perfect. The staff are super friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a warm, lively vibe that makes it great for both a casual meal and a nice night out. Definitely one of my go-to spots in the city! 🍜🌿✨
Ordered Pho and crepe. Pho was absolutely delish, although still does not beat my favorite. The crepe was ok. The price is understandably a little higher because of the location I guess. Came here for a 3:15 pm reservation, at exactly 3:15, was told to order right away as the kitchen closes in 10 minutes. Felt a little rushed, my mistake for booking the last available spot before closing. Although we were allowed to stay and finish our food past 4 pm, but it was very weird that all the servers and kitchen staff are out and on their break. Lesson learned, don’t book the 3:15 spot. Or even the 3:00 pm spot.
Came here for lunch with a friend and was very much delighted! I ordered the vermicelli noodle bowl with spicy lemongrass beef which was delicious in every bite. A great balance of tender meat, the sour and savory flavors of Vietnamese cuisine. The servers also tended to our table just the right amount (clearly were there without being overbearing). A good spot for a reasonably priced lunch without breaking the bank!
Madam Vo is a gem of NY city! My husband and I used to come here for 7 years already and even after we moved states whenever we come visit it’s our number one spot for multiple reasons. Starting with amazingly delicious food that never disappoints, we met with an owner and his sweet wife and you can see in their attitude how much they care for their food to represent their family values and recipes. Our favorites are beef and vegan pho, rice with shrimps and fried spring rolls🙌🏻 Team who works there is always incredibly nice and considerate and majority of servers been there for years which is telling and creates a feeling coming back to a family! Jack, Kidd and Base are absolute stars🫶🏻 We always recommend it to our friends visiting the town and it becomes their favorite place too!
This place was a great surprise for us. Probably the best Vietnamese food I ate all year. The tastes were really authentic, gentle and yet forceful. We had the spring roll, the papaya-shrimp salad and the crepe for appetizers and two pho and garlic noodles for entree. Everything was tasty and recommended. The service was exceptional, the food came in minutes!
This spot has become my go-to for Vietnamese comfort food, and it never disappoints. This time, I tried their Mushroom Pho, and wow—it was absolutely delicious! The timing couldn’t have been better; it was raining outside, making the warm, flavorful broth even more comforting. The restaurant is spacious, perfect for accommodating large groups. I was there with a friend, and since it was busy, we opted to sit at the bar. The service was impressively quick, and the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. Bonus: the portions are generous, and the pricing feels very fair for the quality and quantity.
Loved the grilled pork dish (5/5) - the pork was perfectly charred and the fat rendered giving a moist, tender, and extremely flavorful cut of pork. They also give you a very good amount of food so the $22 isn't too bad. My friends pho (4.5/5) was really good too - overall I'd recommend!
Came with some friends and had a great time - cozy restaurant. Their signature pho with short rib was amazing. Service was attentive.

This was a very lowkey delicious Vietnamese spot. The service was quick and the atmosphere was casual. I ate here and already started thinking of coming back the very next day.

Great food quality, flavours and price. Great service - speedy , professional and neat. We would definitely come back!
One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in the NYC metro area. The bun bo hue was awesome, particularly it's handmade noodles. Great service, and so many good choices, it is hard to pick, but the aroma is so hypnotic. Pho broth is excellent. Some negatives are the bo luc luc is small and over cooked, and the soups should be hotter when served as it cools down very quickly.
Food was not bad but not authentic. I had the Bun Bo Hue and it didn’t have the blood cubes. The blood cubes is what makes the dish!!! Service was ok. Not personalized. When I asked which dish was more popular, they told me all…They didn’t ask us how the food was probably because they knew we weren’t that satisfied. It does still get four stars bc they did have then best beef shank I’ve ever had.
Madame Vo has a great vibe — cozy, lively, and beautifully designed. The pho broth was flavorful and aromatic, and the short rib pho in particular was rich and satisfying. You can tell they care about presentation and quality. That said, it does feel a bit pricey for the portion size, and the flavors leaned slightly on the sweet side for my taste. Still, it’s a solid spot for comforting Vietnamese food in the city with great service and a fun energy.
Have been here for lunch and dinner. It gets busy during dinner time. Service was good and fast. Ive seen them explain to people how to eat certain dishes if they've never eaten it before, which is great because they want their customers to experience and enjoy the food. Favorite dishes is the Bahn Xeo and Tet noodles. The banh xeo is so refreshing to have as a starter. Perfect bite of freshness from the mint, pickeled carrots and veggies along with the seafood. The tet noodles buttery, garlic, and savory.
I've been craving vietnamese food and finally got around to trying madame vo. I called and made a 6pm reservation for outside seating an hour before and we were seated right away with our pups. I ordered the vermicelli pork bowl (+$2 egg roll) which thankfully fulfilled the craving! The honey glaze pork was well-marinated (a little sweet), veggies were fresh, shrimp egg roll was v good, and fish sauce was flavored right. The vermicelli noods were okay, I've had better and would've liked a more generous portion (more protein/greens than noods). Friendly and fast service.

Food was ok IMO. The Pho was good but I had better. The flavors fall flat after a few taste of the soup. The Bun Bo Hue didn't come with the side of veggies and no pork knuckle/feet or blood cube. Service was super nice and friendly. The price was on the high side because of the area but this place is nothing speical.
visited here last year and forgot to write a review only posted pix, have to say my crab noodle dish and was good, pho was pretty bad, and overall i'd say just about 3.5.

I was not blown away by the food here. Very expensive for vietnamese food so I was expecting more. I think I just prefer a mole hole in the wall flavor for vietnamese food.
Madame Vo has lived off its name for quite some time. Their food is decent, but no where near the best Vietnamese in the city. So the hefty price tag doesn't warrant too many visits.
