The most delicious tacos I ever had (yes, even better than in Mexico). Fresh produce, super nice servers, calm yet fun ambiance. What more can you ask for?! Shrimp tacos 10/10
Had an issue with my delivery order and the staff were excellent. Food came fast and was delicious as well!
I absolutely love coming here! The food is always tasty, they have a great happy hour and the margaritas are perfect and not too sweet. I’m especially a fan of how flavorful the rice and beans are, which can be pretty flat at many other places in my experience. They make their sauces in house which makes them stand out as well. This is where I bring friends who come and visit and it’s always a hit!
Some of the best Mexican food you'll find on Smith Street! I've come here so many times over the past five years and it never disappoints! The guacamole is 5/5, so don't miss it!
Will definitely come back again. Guac was so fresh and just the right amount of spicy. Nachos are so simple, but they do them perfectly. Home made chips... Yum. Shrimp fajitas, Perfecto!
Tamarindo Margherita hit the spot, we went in between shifts, but the staff were champs! Bartender made drinks, made guacamole and also some happiness. Solid place would and will go again.
Purepecha was a great experience! The raspberry and blackberry margaritas were amazing! Highly recommend! The bartender was all by himself and not only served the bar, but also the tables and he was incredible! Highly attentive and he make a damn good drink lol. Will absolutely come back next time I'm in Brooklyn.
Nice, cozy atmosphere. The bartender/waiter, I believe his name was Daniel, was so friendly and made a GREAT margarita!!! Best chips and salsa, made fresh in house (the salsa). I had the el pastor tacos and they were EXCELLENT!! Highly recommend this great place.
Love coming here when I come up to the city! The staff is always welcoming, the music is great, and the food? Authenticity at its best! I definitely recommend coming here! The margs don’t compare to anything I’ve tasted at other Mexican restaurants! I always get the raspberry Cadillac margarita. Don’t even get me started on the nachos and tacos! We thank you guys for your great service and delicious food! Love from PA!🥳❤️
Service was phenomenal! Very clean and I loved the decor! I recommend getting the strawberry margarita, and nachos! All the food looked amazing and was delicious! One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to, will definitely be returning! 5 star experience for sure!
5/5 would definitely recommend. Both times that I’ve been here I sat at the bar & the bartender provided spectacular service. The raspberry Cadillac margarita is THEE drink to order. The spicy guacamole isn’t too spicy but is creamy & delicious. Lastly, the ambiance is something to brag about, from the decor to the music to the map of old Mexico, this place is lovely.
The tacos it's where it's at. I particularly liked the Carnitas Michoacanas and camarones. You can taste the yummy fat on the tortillas, and it doesn't overwhelm. The guacamole portion is generous but nothing to call home about. Some of the plated food I tried was less interesting, and had too much rice and beans. I'm happy to make this my destination for tacos in the neighborhood, but not much else.
My mezcal margarita was absolutely delicious. Though, for $14, you'd think they would fill up your cup as opposed to handing you a glass that's only 75% full. We are visual creatures so if you hand me a cup that's 75% full, my mind immediately thinks it's 25% empty. Perhaps serve it in a smaller glass or give me more margarita. Just a suggestion. I got the surf and turf ($21): 6 pieces of shrimp and a skirt steak with rice and beans, some guacamole and sour cream. Really delicious and I would totally get it again. The house hot sauce is 🔥 🔥 🔥. If they bottled it and sold it, I would totally buy it.
**3.5 Stars** We came here for a quick snack before ending our day. We picked this Mexican spot because we were craving nachos and this place got some really good reviews. Upon arrival, the restaurant was mostly empty. There was one big group sitting outside drinking. We decided to sit indoors and asked if they had AC. The bartender who was also the only person there decided to put on the AC because it was really hot indoors. The restaurant had nice eclectic decor and ample seating. My friends decided that they wanted to have a few drinks. We asked if they had any happy hour specials and we were told no. One group came in and immediately left when they found out that there weren't any happy hour specials. Charsu got a Blackberry margarita ($14) and Farabe got a regular one ($12). They were disappointed that they used a cheap house tequila and that the taste didn't match the price. I ordered a Mexican coke which was cold and refreshing. Each table gets one free basket of chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and tasty. It had a nice salty crisp to it. I thought the salsa was also very tasty and fresh. I ordered a plate of chicken nachos ($13) and it was so delicious and filling. The chicken was cooked well and was flavorful. I liked that every chip got some kind of topping or sauce. Farabe ordered steak enchiladas Roja ($14.50). When their order arrived, the server bought out the wrong dish. He said that's what we ordered but, we insisted that he got it wrong. He took Farabe's order back and bought out the correct one. Farabe thought the dish was delicious (but, needed a bit more sauce) and the steak was tender. Overall, the food was delicious and filling but, the drinks and service were lackluster.
Came here last night with a small group. Nice mid-size restaurant with cool murals on the wall, overall nice atmosphere. We ordered a few drinks - the raspberry and blackberry margaritas were pretty flat in my opinion, the cucumber one however was delicious. The food was also very just okay. We had the smith fries, the burrito (MASSIVE portion) the napoli salad, the fajitas elote and the durados tacos. Personally I’ve had better Mexican food with more flavor so not sure that I would return.
I had been wanting to go here so badly for so long based off the pictures I’ve seen. The drinks appeared absolutely amazing… I would say unfortunately this is a case of catfish. The pictures look way better than what the food tastes like. They salsa for chips and salsa was very good but the chips they served were extremely oily. The chicken Tinga tacos appear online that you can get flour option however the waiter told me no and then when I got the tacos, the corn tortillas were so oily. My stomach immediately was killing me. The guac didn’t taste like anything either.. The burrito was the only good thing we had. Overall, I just won’t be returning. My stomach was killling me from all that oil. It was only one person at the bar as well serving multiple people on a Tuesday night, so it was kind of hard to be taken care of. For quick Taco Tuesday night, $80 definitely not worth it.
