What a gem. Super affordable, high quality sushi with great service. They offer complimentary miso soup with your meal and provide refills. The staff is very friendly and attentive. My server Khaled was super helpful. They put a lot of thought into the art and decor which I loved. Only downside is that they are cashless so remember to take your card/phone. I will definitely be back!
SO GOOD! We walked in on a Friday evening and were seated immediately which was amazing. Everything from the miso soup to hand rolls were delicious - the fish is high quality and I love the sauces / toppings they add. Will def be back again
Affordable, filling, good quality hand rolls set in Williamsburg @temakase . Somehow the first thing came to mind was this is a great place for solo dining. It's easy, quick, and I can eat with my hands. Hangry - 6 hand rolls $38 🍣 scallop 🍣 blue crab 🍣 salmon 🍣 tuna 🍣 toro 🍣 Hamachi IG: joannekyc
Hand-rolls tasted very good and everything was priced well. Tip is included with everything which is similar to other hand roll spots in New York. We ran into a small hiccup with ordering and service was a little slow but it's still a newer spot so nothing major. We'll definitely be going back and it might be our new takeout sushi spot in the neighborhood.
I don’t write a lot of reviews but this sushi is 10/10 so I had to say something. Having tried hundreds of different places, it’s very difficult to have high quality sushi delivered in NYC. It’s surprising how good this sushi is. I just ask that you hold onto your quality control.
Temakse Williamsburg is hands down the best sushi hand roll bar I have ever visited! From the moment you walk in, the vibrant atmosphere welcomes you, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. What sets Temakse apart is the incredible freshness of their fish. Each hand roll is crafted using high-quality seafood that bursts with flavor. You can truly taste the difference – it's as if the fish was just caught! The variety of hand rolls available is impressive, catering to both traditional tastes and unique flavor combinations. Every roll I've tried has been delicious, with the perfect balance of rice, seaweed, and fillings. If you're a sushi lover or just looking for a fantastic meal, Temakse Williamsburg is a must-visit. Highly recommend! 🍣✨
Super fresh hand rolls, perfectly seasoned rice, & crisp nori. My favorite was the scallop one! Great set menus at an awesome price point or a la carte if preferred. You should definitely try the crispy rice options. Portions are filling, no-tip policy, and an awesome beer + sake list. Modern, minimal, spacious vibe right by Domino Park. I'll definitely be back soon. 10/10.
Temakase is such a gem! The vibe is amazing — relaxed yet stylish — and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. Every bite tastes like it was just prepared from the best catch of the day. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality you get, which makes it an easy go-to for a special meal or even a casual night out. Highly recommend!
All the hand rolls we tried were delicious! Love that they have a ‘regular’ and ‘spicy’ option for each hand roll. My favorites were the spicy salmon, spicy scallop, toro, and spicy hamachi. The crispy tuna rice was nice and crispy.
Brooklyn’s best spot for sushi handrolls! Each roll is generously sized, with fresh, premium fish and just the right fish-to-rice ratio. The set menus are a great value, letting you mix and match regular and spicy rolls. The restaurant’s cozy, inviting atmosphere makes it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy rolls that truly hit the spot!
Fish (salmon, yellowtail, tuna) was so fresh. I loves crispy rice, they had perfectly crisp crust and the toppings (tuna, salmon, avocado) were fresh and plentiful. The staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance at Temakase is so cozy and welcoming, every corner is instagram worthy! Can’t wait to come back again.
Amazing hand roll sushi! Well balanced in flavor, FRESH, strong fresh washabi. We ordered 8 rolls of vegetarian one and love them all. Service is attentive, kids friendly environment. Bonus: right next to Domino park, perfect for hanging out before/after meal.
Loved the vibe and decor. Hand rolls were delicious. Recommend the scallops and crispy rice. Will definitely be back.
We had an amazing time at Temakase. The hand rolls were really good and large portions. Our favorite was the baked crab hand roll. The service was attentive, as well. It's also family friendly and had enough room for stroller parking.

Another one of my favorites opened up in Williamsburg , definitely a must check out . It causal dining no reservations needed, just walk in. Hand-rolls are phenomenal, I am not a seaweed person , theirs is quality. Also all their Crispy Rice options are amazing , I always order all. Simply Delicious.

The baked crab was spectacular. Food portion for all items were super generous! Would definitely come back!
Had the Hangry Set and loved every bite. The rice was warm, seaweed crunchy, and the fish tasted fresh and they don’t skimp on portions. The blue crab hand roll was my favorite. Rich, buttery, but balanced, and paired well with the slight melon notes of the Soto junmai daiginjo sake. My wife isn’t a rice eater, and when she asked to reduce it, the staff happily adjusted. Excellent, friendly service all around! The restaurant has that modern Brooklyn vibe, upscale yet chill, with sleek decor and a hip energy that makes it perfect for a quick date night or just posting up solo at the bar to watch the chefs in action. I also tried the eel at the end. Amazing, but a bit heavier than the other hand rolls, so I suggest enjoying it earlier in your meal. The Matcha IPA was surprisingly great too, crisp and not too strong. Left more than satisfied! Will definitely return!
Temakase was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in NYC. We walked in around 8p on a cold Sunday and were instantly greeted by a warm, generous, and attentive staff. And I know what you’re thinking: “three adjectives in a row — he used AI to write that sentence.” I didn’t, but good looking out. The hand rolls here are incredible. The fish is fresh, the portions are generous, and I even got to try an Everything Bagel Hand Roll, which, despite it sounding sacrilegious, is one of the best things I had here. I’ll be coming back for sure.
Nice experience. Good and quiet atmosphere. Very well lit, not a dark ambience. Went with a +1 and the unlimited miso was refreshing after being in the cold. Hand Rolls were great, they let us mix and match, and were helpful in offering us options.
So glad this sushi spot is in the neighborhood! Every roll looked great, and everything we tried was delicious - especially the spicy tuna, baked crab, and wagyu. The service was wonderful too. Everyone was so friendly, kind, and attentive. Can’t wait to go back.

Discovering that Temakase has opened a new location on Kent Avenue was a very pleasant surprise! The space is in a great spot, and the service was warm and attentive throughout our visit. The quality of the hand rolls and crispy rice was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My personal favorites were the traditional scallop and the spicy salmon, both of which were outstanding. If I had one small critique, it would be the lighting — it felt a bit harsh for a dining atmosphere. A warmer, softer lighting setup would make the space feel more inviting and enhance the overall experience. That said, I’ll definitely be back. A great addition to the neighborhood!
I would love this place more if there was a traditional handroll option. No frills (similar to Kazu nori in LA) which allow the flavor and texture of the fish to shine without unnecessary add ons like truffle. The crispy rice could also be improved because it came out at the end of our meal, wasn’t the right texture (too dense), and didn’t really add to the experience for me. Also, a small request - a lot of handroll spots have a yuzu sauce option which would be an amazing addition to your menu.
Not sure I would order from here again. The ingredients seemed fresh but the spicy tuna roll had very little actual tuna in it - you can see the rice all the way around and into the center of the roll. For the price, go to Ten Ichi Mart and gets two or three times as much fish in your roll for half the price :/
