Opinions de Voyager Espresso Albee Square
A very nice, well-hidden coffee shop in FiDi (easily the best one in the area), tucked into the underground subway entrance. The coffee is terrific, with a really flavorful espresso. Their espresso tonic easily stole the show, not just for the taste but also the presentation, with orange peels adding a nice touch.
this was a great find! right next to my school so i just came downstairs, a little harder to find. but you enter the building and then go down the stairs toward the subway. i got a smokey vanilla orange latte 10000/10, and a cortado to taste the espresso just by itself. both drinks came with sparkling water. will be back! a great chill place to read, they have outlets as well.
savory food. love the egg avocado toast. this place is hard to find. it’s located inside the basement of 110 William building, on a subway entrance tunnel. you can enter on William st, bypass the front desk, on the right there is a glass door saying “Subway”. pass through it to go down, through the second door, turn left and you see the place (turn right is the subway entrance)
Some of the most unique and delicious coffees we found in the city. The folks are super friendly and epically knowledgeable about coffee. Definitely a spot to check out if you're open to trying new coffees!
Haven't stopped by Voyager for a long while since I moved out of FiDi couple years ago. Stopoed by today on my way to a meeting and stopped by again after the meeting :) Espresso and single origin pour over specialty is still one of the best I have encountered in NYC. Full stop. People are as friendly as I remember. They are one of the reason I miss FiDi. Will be back more often.
Amazing espresso. Owners are very attentive and know what they're doing. They make sure every cup of coffee meets the standard. Lots of regulars come here and you can feel the sense of community built just through coffee.
Best hidden coffee spot, roast their own beans as well. And staff is polite. I shouldn’t leave a review because I wanted to keep it a secret.
Six of us went for a private latte art class yesterday in the store and loved it! We went through the idea of making the art and then practiced a few different designs twice, once with guidance from the owner. Really fun and unique experience with an very friendly and knowledgeable teacher.
Great little hidden espresso shop with expert baristas who take the time to make the perfect cup of espresso bliss! It is in the underground connector tunnel from the building to the subway so it is a bit hard to find the first time but definitely worth the effort. It is a surprisingly peaceful and quiet location with a calming zen feel.
Best coffee in NYC! Have the Smokey Star Dreamsicle (Golden Record espresso shot touched with smoked vanilla & orange peel syrups, whole milk recommended), to stay, for the beautiful design in a cup and sparkling water chaser. The egg & avocado toast was also delicious, and most of all, the warm and friendly service!
The vibe was that of a place where the staff knew all their customers. The business was an expression of love by the owners. A regular customer gave me a suggestion for a seasonal drink. It did not disappoint. The owners does his own roasting which indicates his commitment to the coffee experience.
I have been coming to Voyager for a year and a half at this point. No doubt the best espresso in the neighborhood, and top notch service. I worked as a barista for a year so I know what it takes to run a good coffeeshop. This place does everything perfectly. It’s worth the descent down to subway level (but you don’t have to pay a subway fare to get to Voyager)
We had such an incredible experience at Voyager Espresso! We booked a tasting class, and it completely changed the way I think about coffee. William, the owner and instructor, was amazing, so knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. During the class, William walked us through every step of the process, from sourcing to brewing, and shared insights that made the whole experience eye-opening and inspiring. The class was fun, engaging, and left us with a deeper appreciation for what goes into a great cup of coffee. On top of that, their regular menu items are fantastic, some of the best coffee we’ve had in the city! When an issue came up and we had to reschedule, William was very communicative and kept me informed every step of the way. He was so accommodating, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I’d highly recommend Voyager Espresso to anyone, whether you’re a casual coffee drinker or a total coffee nerd, just stopping in for a quick cup on your way to work or looking to dive deep with their tasting experience. You’ll walk away impressed and excited to come back.
This coffee shop is amazing, definitely not one to be missed. You enter the building at 110 Williams Street and then turn right immediately and go through the doors and down the stairs. They serve high quality coffee drinks, many of them deconstructed which is so unique. Their prices are reasonable too (cheaper than Starbucks). We tried the tonic espresso with orange peel. If you have the drink there you get to experience the whole coffee turned science experiment in action. This is such a cool place, don't miss it when you are in NYC.
What a journey into the Voyager Espresso coffee shop! This place is in a bizarre location but at the same time makes so much sense. All I can say is, my coffee was a 10/10. I don’t normally drink coffees with syrup (you’ll see from other reviews I’m just a flat white oat milk kinda gal) but I tried a coffee which had a smoked vanilla and orange syrup in it, and it was brilliant! The coffee had a strip of powder on the top which was a little salty, so really helped to balance the sweetness from the syrup. The service was great, with staff helping with recommendation and advising on how best to drink the coffee. Highly recommend. It is a small space but we managed to sit whilst sipping on our coffees.
One of my favorite spots! The café is located on the lower level of 110 William St — you need to enter the building and follow the signs down the stairs. It feels hidden from tourists, with just a few tables, but the presentation is beautiful and the coffee is excellent (they offer a great selection of beans!). They always serve sparkling water with your coffee, and the toasts are delicious — especially the whole grain bread, which I really appreciate as someone who pays attention to what I eat. The staff is kind, the vibe is friendly, and there’s even a chess board!
What can I say to capture the experience. I opted to venture underground to find Voyager Espresso, and the experience reaffirmed my coffee values. The shop is small, very cozy and peaceful. The staff were very inviting, thanking me for choosing Voyager in recognition of the many choices one has in the city. If you read my reviews, you know I am a creature of habit. Cappuccino “a bit dry” with a preference for an Almond Croissant. However, this morning I also opted for an Americano. Voyagers presentation matched any of the top tier espresso shops Ive experienced around this world. Classic with a touch of art I so appreciate. The cappuccino was indeed dry, bold, and flavor forward. As for the Americano, this is how it is done. Any Starbucks fans out there take note and learn. If you are in Manhattan, south of SoHo, I urge you to take the steps down to the underground and experience what coffee culture has to offer. Thank you Voyager Espresso for reminding me where the benchmark is set. Enjoy!
What a great find! The service is excellent, the coffee is great and the food options are just perfect. Tasty, nutritious and reasonably priced. I'll hopefully be back, very soon. My new favorite breakfast option in NYC. If you're trying to find it, note that it's just down the stairs, off the main street. Well worth a visit.
I’d give this spot 10 stars if I could!! Favorite spot in the city. Staff is exceptional and will remember you/your order - so friendly and wonderful. Espresso is EXCELLENT. I got a cortado + it was perfection. PLUS they have amazing food! I got the egg avocado toast but want to try to prosciutto ricotta toast next time! They know their stuff and reasonably priced for the city. Thanks Voyager Team! You made my day. I’ll be back <3
Caution: the stone/marble tray that the drinks are served on is scalding hot! My partner and I almost burned our hands. When I expressed our concern to the barista, she was nonchalant and not apologetic. She proceeded to serve our next drink on an equally hot tray to my partner. We’re assuming they just came out of the dishwasher? We were never offered an explanation or a simple apology. With that said, we loved the coffee and tea that we ordered. I just wish that the barista would take a safety concern seriously.
It's not a bad place overall, we enjoyed the food, but I had a bad experience there. I asked about pour overs and the guy said there was no menu, but he listed off a few options, and said "I recommend X". I said sure, give me X. It was a decent cup of pour over coffee, and I enjoyed it. However, when I received the bill the coffee was something like $16 or $18 for the cup. I think I should have been notified of the price prior to paying, after all it was about 3x the price of a normal cup of coffee...
