VIETNAM 🇻🇳 Eat the World LA review: This was the first Vietnamese restaurant I ever ate at in the Los Angeles area. It was on an October day in 2015 that was boiling close to 40 degrees celsius, and there was definitely no way a bowl of pho could be ordered. Luckily the special here is the grilled pork patties known as nem nuong, of which I ordered the appetizer portion (below) that comes with a plate load of vegetables to wrap and crunch with as well as multiple dipping sauces and rice paper wrappers. ° Khánh Hòa is a province in Vietnam not quite south, but towards the south end of the central region. Let's call it South Central. Famous for its beautiful Nha Trang region and beaches, tourists are a common sight, but maybe the most interesting regional specialty are these nem nuong. ° If you have ever been to the famous Brodard in Orange County, you immediately recognize that they do not give you this option to do the wrapping yourself. After four or five tries, when you start to get the textures combinations just right, you have second thoughts about why that is.
Very delicious and authentic Vietnamese food. Food are always served fresh and really hot. The soup is flavorful. Noodles has very good consistency. They are not stingy with sauces nor the vegetables like lettuces, mints, cilantros, cucumber. The people in the restaurant which looks like the family who owns it were very accommodating and friendly which made our experience there even more pleasant. Also, the price is way better than other Vietnamese Restaurant which doesnt even compare to the quality & flavour of food and excellent service that this restaurant offers. Will definutely go back.
Nem Nướng Khánh Hoà is one of my favorite spots for soup in the SGV. I've kept this gem to myself for too long, but I realize how important it is to support small restaurants so they can thrive for years to come. I first discovered this place about five years ago and instantly fell in love. I would even travel from South LA just for a warm bowl of pho and their incredible Nem Nướng Cuon, which are pork and shrimp spring rolls. Their lemonade soda is a must-have—it's the perfect refresher after a hot bowl of pho. That’s my go-to order, and don't forget to add chili for an extra kick! Make sure to grab plenty of napkins; you’ll definitely be sweating after this meal. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall at the corner of Valley Blvd. and Marengo. Parking can be tricky, even for compact cars, as it shares space with other businesses and the spots are quite small. Just a heads up: it's CASH ONLY, and be patient since the restaurant is run by just three people—the owners and the cook. They’re incredibly welcoming and treat you like family. Enjoy your visit!
Its worth trying and I assure you that you'll be totally impressed, satisfied and full!
Quaint little Vietnamese restaurant with a welcoming staff and delicious menu. The egg rolls were so good, especially wrapped with lettuce and cucumber. And the Pho with Rare Beef had a rich and tasty broth.
Nice local Vietnamese restaurant that I've come to a few times. Staff is a friendly and the food was quite delicious! I had some beef spring rolls and a vermicelli dish with meatballs. Both were very good and I had to bring one of the spring rolls home as it was a lot of food. Would recommend trying it out if you're craving some Vietnamese cuisine.
Small family owned restaurant with tasty Bun Bo Hue. We go here often when going to Costco for a quick bite. Fast friendly service. Cash only.
Good! I agree that their pho broth is cleaner than other places. Also tried the charbroiled pork vermicelli bowl and it was good! Keep in mind that it's cash only. I'll be back!
Excellent food, excellent price. Cash only. Ate spring roll, pho and rice dish with pork chop and minced pork. Will definitely return.
Super tasty. Great bun cha (pork over vermicelli with spring rolls), good goi cuon (and big), and the best cha gio I’ve had in the states! Iced Vietnamese coffee was excellent and not overly sweet. Good price and really nice people too.
love this place - it's my go to place for banh beo and spring rolls w/ pork & shrimp egg roll (you can roll your own spring rolls). their pho & bun bo hue are good too.
I love their service here, and their food quality is very good too. Especially,Rice Cake Topped with Crushed Dried Shrimp in Small Bowls is my favorite here, and overall price for the food is worth to pay and fair. Also, Spring Rolls here is larger than other Vietnamese Restaurant so I would recommend to have one if people come by here.
Excellent. This is the best pho I’ve had in LA. I loved that they include thinly sliced onions. They were very sweet and friendly. I got take out and everything was packed very well too. Great prices. 100/10
Pho has a cleaner broth than other places I’ve been to. Cha gio is nice and meaty with pork. All the vegetables are cut nicely. You can tell they take their time to prepare the food. Will be back for the bun bo hue.
Delicious, authentic Vietnamese food run by the loveliest people. Loved everything we tried and come back very often
The couple running this place were nice and funny. The nem nuong was absolutely delicious, but the pho was easily THE BEST pho broth i have had in my life. I say that without exaggeration. Especially for the price. Only downside was that this place is cash only.
Delicious and family owned! Cash only- so be prepared because we almost didn’t have enough. My husband found this place on Yelp and it was a great find! Their beef spring rolls and pho were so delicious! My husband got their Bun Bo Hue and it was good (according to him, I tried it and am not a fan of that dish in general). Pricing is very good and reasonable as well! Service was great and they are friendly and helpful (packed our leftover for us). My husband already wants to come back here (and so do I)!
Food was incredible and exactly the experience I was looking for after living in Vietnam years ago. Egg rolls, spring rolls and pho were all phenomenal. In a time when most places are overly modern & trendy or overpriced, this stands out as a great spot for truly traditional Vietnamese. Highly recommend!!
Fresh taste! The spring rolls taste refreshing! The rare beef was overcooked in the broth (in my takeout box). For future takeouts, i wish they separated the meat & broth and didn’t put them together in the broth.
Nice and consistent mom and pops Vietnamese restaurant. The owners are super sweet and the food is cheap and authentic. I asked them to raise the prices like every other restaurant is doing and they told me they’re thinking about it. They don’t know if they will retire or keep going. That put me in a good depression. I hope they continue on but I do support all folks doing what they want. If this place goes I won’t know where to get my Bun Bo Hue or Pho. The spring rolls aren’t the best but the vermicelli bowls are good. I’ve been coming here for many years and will keep coming back as long as they’re here.
We ate here last weekend and were so glad we did. The Pork Vermicelli bowls were delish! Enjoy the photos, the food came fast and hot. The server was very friendly. We’d come back again when we’re back in the neighborhood
What a wonderful little place! Worth a try if you love great food and friendly people. Not a lot of vegetarian options however they were able to give us an option of making wraps with eggrolls which were veggie!
delicious food , great service , very authentic. we will be back!!!
The food here is phenomenal! It’s a small restaurant with a very homey feel to it. There’s a wide variety of items on the menu, but I came here specifically for the bun bo hue and was not disappointed. The nem, which they are known for, was of course delicious as well. I’m not sure if patrons order drinks here very often, but I got a fresh lemonade soda and thought it was so refreshing! Definitely one of the top Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to.
What a great little Pho house in Alhambra! It’s cash only so be ready for that. The woman serving me was very kind and the pho and egg rolls were awesome. Possibly the best Pho broth I’ve ever had. I highly recommend
This small restaurant comes with excellent customer services. Good foods and drinks with reasonable prices. They specialize in nem nuong and bun nuoc leo soc trang. You will enjoy your meal here because they also very friendly and nice.
From start to finish, we couldn't stop saying "namit" as we were eating. Namit means delicious in a Filipino dialect. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Really good Vietnamese restaurant. I come here for Bun Thit Nuong and Broken Rice plates. It is a very homey restaurant and the workers treat you like family. If you are feeling adventurous I would highly recommend the Bun Nem Chua Nuong or grilled pickled pork on top of noodles and veggies. So good and like no other. Enjoy!

Banh beo chen (steammed rice cake) and nem nuong were authentically delicious!!

This is our go to pho spot. The broth is amazing and the spring rolls are next level with the crunch. We’ve tried quite a few in the area, and we always come back to this one
I was passing through and , didn't expect this good one of the best pho I've had in years. Hidden gem for pho. Surprised this small restaurant is one of the best in intire L.A.
Came here when it was pretty empty and ordered 5 items and some thai tea and coffee. The woman manning the place was very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. Food arrived pretty fast and I really liked the banh beo and hot egg rolls I got. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting some Viet food at a decent price. Will definitely be returning for the spring rolls!
One of the BEST Vermicelli cold noodles in So Cal! Freshest ingredients and huge portions are all sharable. Delicious authentic Vietnamese flavors! 5 stars!

Nem Nuong K. is family owned. They offer good authentic Vietnamese food and moderately fast service. They are located on a small plaza at Valley blvd and Marengo ave. I had dinner here and ordered Com Bo Xao (Stir fried beef w/ rice) and it was really good; meat is flavorful and rice is good too. They have a wide variety of 48 food on the menu to choose from broken rice bowls to noodles to vermicelli. Prices are relatively cheap. Service is moderately fast. Indoor seating is relatively small with a capacity of ~40 people. This restaurant is good for quick lunch or dinner that will satisfy your appetite. Parking lot is very small but street parking is available. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will comeback again.
This is the spot for super cheap nem nuong and banh beo. I think each is like $8.95, but you can also do half orders (which are pretty filling still). The shop owners speak both Vietnamese and Cantonese. The nem nuong comes as separate ingredients you have to put together. Vegetables aren't super fresh and the banh beo could use more toppings, but still this place does the trick.
3.5/5 Pho was not that good. but the nem rolls were good
Proper hole in the wall spot for Viet food. Definitely an in and out place, as opposed to a place to bring a date. With that said, kind owner and quick service to be had here! Cash only I believe, and I got the pork chop + egg roll over rice for $11.95 plus tax / tip to go. The rice quality was meh, and the pork chop was excellent but not much meat. Egg roll was small but delicious. I know the price was competitive, but I still would’ve liked to see more pork in the box. Per my video, added egg + spinach to make it a proper meal lol. I appreciate them adding extra jalapeños per my request, so 4 stars well earned!
CASH only! Broth was clean, and tasty. Pork with crunch spring roll was delicious! Just like Brodard (and it's copycat Summer Rolls). We ordered to go. Staff spoke English. #32. Combination Pho Dac Biet $12.95 #33. Bun Bo Hue $12.95 (said yes if want everything when asked) Pork with crunch, Spring rolls (3). (Wow yeah, they do make it and the sauce to be very similar to Brodard, and Summer Rolls as other reviewers mentioned.) Beverage #5 Rau Ma $3.50 (They offer with or without sugar. I asked for light sugar.)

Was good beef pho. I probably won't come back though because i prefer chicken pho and they didn't have that on the menu. Also they only accept cash.

I have ordered Pho and Bun Bo Hue. Pho is alright, not the best, but the meatball was spoil. Bun Bo Hue has all of spoiled meats in it. I don’t know how they could survive with health inspection
I gave this restaurant a try because of the high ratings (fake?), but I walked away very disappointed. The foods are NOT authentic Vietnamese. This is really a Chinese-owned restaurant, selling what they claim as Vietnamese foods. The nem nuong was dry and tasteless. Other items on the menu taste like Chinese food. They also use lots of MSG on most items. The service was mediocre at best. They accept cash only (so they can cheat on taxes?). The dining area is small and cluster and uncomfortable. The tables are not kept clean. The parking is terrible. The small parking lot is shared by more than five other businesses.
