This place is so cute 💕 very positive energy Our server was Rose and she gave us very great service. All maids were very welcoming and polite, it was out first time visiting and they responded all our questions, menu is super cute and I loved my drink. This spot feels very magical, I loved the attention to detail. I would recommend if you’re interested in maid culture or are familiar with anime.
I first heard about this place in February of 2025, and after many months of frequenting this humble little establishment within a packed neighborhood of good food, I have to say that this review was long overdue. Craving cute ice cream creations? Go to Asayoru. Have a hankering for omurice? Go to Asayoru. Having a crappy day and wanna be entertained? Go to Asayoru. Need energy and laughter after a long day at work? Go to Asayoru. Wanna play an intense round of Jenga with your server? Go to Asayoru. Wanna do work in a café but don't wanna deal with baristas mispronouncing your name? Go to Asayoru. Wanna go to the most magical place on Earth but don't wanna spend an entire limb on parking? GO TO ASAYORU!!!! Seriously, this place is the real deal! This place is always lively, regardless of the time of day. The food is delicious. The server maids really get to know you and love to talk to you. The entertainment options are top-notch, which includes board games and performances (singing and/or dancing). This place promotes individuality and it makes for a better dining experience. From birthdays to long days at work, I love spending my time here. Definitely one of the coolest hidden experiences in LA. Definitely worth a visit.
I've been going to Asayoru since they were just a pop up café ♡ they've grown so much over the years - they've really stepped up their game! The food is amazingly adorbs and the staff is very friendly and sweet ♡ i love the performances - the crowd/ guests sometimes go hard during music numbers and it truly adds to the atmosphere^^ Even the small details like the surprise you find on the bottom of your plate when you clear the food!! I always have such a fun time here, I highly recommend them to all masters and princesses ♡♡♡
Asayoru became my reason for going to LA despite of being based 600 miles away. The food is good enough to be considered as a “go-to” restaurant for Japanese foods &more. However the most important part is people. I would not mention anyone specific here, because everyone here works with a passion, warm heart and energy to create their dream world here. Thank you for bringing me into maid cafe and idol events. They do have idol music events monthly and that’s where I heard of them.
Definitely a new experience when it comes to eating out. The energy was very lively. If you want a quiet and calm atmosphere, then morning is the best time to come. If you like lively atmosphere, then the evening is the best time. -- The food is really good too. 100 visit update: My Oshi is Yuna
We went to the cafe just to try it out since it was always an interesting idea and we weren’t disappointed. I was incredibly nervous but the staff were so fun and lively. You are greeted and served all in character and they made it fun to be involved with the meal. The place was cute and on theme. The only reason for the 4* on atmosphere was because it kinda felt a bit hastily put together. The furniture was pretty cheap and they use a lot of facade pieces. I feel like it’s super easy to look past and the experience overall was 5* hands down.
Absolutely adore ASAYORU! It’s a place where maid cafe enjoyers and first timers can have a wonderful time! All the maids are passionate! I love coming home !
It was a fun experience. The food was great and the entertainment was awesome. The maids are hilarious 😂.
Every time I am in LA I have to go to Asayoru! The maids are super nice and the food is really tasty, definitely come and give it a try.
Incredible experience! And so much attention to details. From the beginning, the maids greet you with a ring of a bell and a short verse in Japanese. There are lots of menu options that come with "maid magic". For the meal items my group got, that ranged from ketchup/chocolate syrup drawings on the food/ plates to using wands to help cool down a drink that has "sun energy". Every time you get a course, the maid has you do a short heart cutsey thing to "infuse" the food. I got the Deluxe combo that comes with an entree, drink, dessert and Polaroid. On top of getting food, you can also pay to have a maid do a performance. If you want to go for the full maid cafe experience, the additional cost is definitely worth it! I got to watch 4 different performances. 3 of which where the maids did a cute dance choreography that lasted about 2 minutes. The 4th maid sang heavy metal and it was pretty unexpected but incredible!! A very unique and cool new experience. I highly recommend trying it out! It is on the expensive side, but you really do get your money's worth!

Wanted to celebrate and came here for that. It was an incredible experience! From start to finish I loved it all!!! I can't wait to come back again!!!
This place is so legit like I have been to cafes in Tokyo and they do suchh a good job bringing the full experience here!! All the staff are so nice and welcoming and tbh their food options are pretty fire! They have a good amount of options on the menu and the food comes out hot and fresh with some of the dishes even being decorated by your maid :3 I have definitely whaled on getting the dances and chekis for extra but theyre sooo worth it~ If your ever in the area you must stop by!
Highly recommend for people going to a maid Cafe for the first time, especially for English speakers. The maids have a pretty nice balance and the food is actually better than most places in Japan when comparing their katsu curry. The pork was decently prepared and the curry blend was superb, no pickled radishes required. The rice was a bit dry.
I visited Asyarou Maid Café for the first time on my birthday, and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience! I’ve seen them many times at anime conventions, but visiting the actual café is a must. The staff provided fantastic customer service, and the food, drinks, and desserts were all delicious. The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and full of positive energy. I highly recommend checking it out — it’s an experience you won’t forget!
Long overdue review, but this cafe is so amazing! It has some of the most lovely staff who always go above and beyond for guests. I been a backer of their kickstarter before the store opened, and I always check on updates for this place to see their well deserved growth for the business and I wish I still lived nearby! For now I will keep recommending my friends to visit. Thank you for all the great hospitality! I will be back hopefully soon!
This is probably the most legit maid cafe you can find in all of north America, coast to coast, including Canada, and one that you don't have to wait for the next anime event/convention to get the experience. This is their own store so they get to control all the vibe and decor of the place, instead of a rushed experience at conventions. If you enjoyed your time at maid cafe at convention, then you definitely can't miss asayoru as you'll see how all great ideas come to life unrestricted by conventions! They've not only mimic the maid cafe experience that you get from Japan, they've put a lot of thought into what their customers are interested in to get the fans involved. It's a bunch of ever evolving ideas localized and catered to everyone's experiences. Also, their food is probably better than any maid cafe that you can find in Japan. You can tell they put food quality as part of their priority. I've only gone during special events, so I'm unsure about their performance schedules. But I've seen their performance in the cafe as well as in other collaborations/events, they always do an amazing job and actually taught me quite a lot of new Japanese songs that I've never heard of. Not to mention, their own themed songs are also top notch! Definitely pay them a visit whenever you're in town!!

Gets busy for dinner, so be sure to make reservations or get there for opening time. Staff are lovely, help you get over the weeb shame you are sure to feel, and made me feel very welcome- which is hard for me, who is extremely self-conscious. Wish I lived anywhere close to here - I'd totally be a regular. Unfortunately, I live far far away from the only legit maid cafe in the USA (that I know of.) Recommend to those who think they'll like this kind of thing! Just go with the flow and you'll like it.
Ah, maid cafés. That thing we've seen countless times in media such as anime. A staple that many fans of Japanese media would like to attend but either don't out of embarrassment or are waiting for the real thing in Japan itself. This is where Asayoru Maid Café comes into play. The location is in a well populated downtown area of Montery Park tucked in between an AMC and a Holiday Inn. I made reservations and was greeted by a wonderful maid named Sumi. Me and her did a greeting ritual, and she guided me to my seat. Another maid came and showed us the menu and how everything worked. I decided to get the $44 special, which includes soup or salad, an entree, and a drink along with a cheki (a photo with you and the maid of your choice). Got the omurice along with a special vanilla ice cream Calpico drink with a soup. The food is just okay. I didn't have high expectations, and you are buying more for the entertainment and experience. It was honestly better than I thought it was going to be. The café itself was very busy, and the service was a little slow, but it seemed like maybe someone called out or they weren't prepared for a huge crowd. My maid kept apologizing and being really sincere, so I didn't mind at all. Overall, for a person who thought wasn't going to like maid cafés, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and wouldn't mind coming back

Absolutely love this place! The waitresses are super attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is fun and loud, and the food was good. I bought the whole package: games, food, drink, and a song and it was all worth it! Me and my friends just hope that they make more vegan options sometime.
A wholesome experience with personality (and lots of polaroids) Asayoru is one of the most charming and uplifting cafés in LA! The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else. The staff puts in a ton of heart and energy to make guests feel welcome, and when the vibe hits, it genuinely brightens your whole day. The food and drinks are enjoyable, but it’s important to remember that you’re paying more for the experience than the menu itself. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but if you go in with that mindset, it makes sense. My main reason for docking one star is that the experience can sometimes shift from “café” to “photo-booth.” When it gets busy, the service flow slows down because so many guests are lining up for polaroid photos with the staff, and the café does promote those photos pretty aggressively. Understandable as part of the theme, just know that service times can get a little wild, and you might be stuck waiting far longer than expected for even simple orders. That said, one thing I have to applaud is how fast this business adapts and improves. They clearly listen to feedback, tweak their systems, and keep evolving. That’s rare and honestly admirable. It’s why I still keep coming back. Even with its quirks, it’s a joyful place run by people who care, and that’s worth supporting.

Maid is amazing and nice BUT don’t ever go their in morning for food. It’s so bad, their bento rice taste like was there since world started, the other stuff taste like it’s from some kind of microwave food in Costco, the sandwich taste bad but compare to the bento is like nothing. it’s like 20$ per before tax. Also the drinks r bad also, their malt chocolate milk taste like dog food but water version(like how could this thing even created???), and tuna sandwich taste like cat food. The only food I would say is good is kimchi and potato/ Egg salad…..but nothing wrong w maid, everyone is energetic and super nice ! Sakurin is super nice and cute… the best

The entire place felt soulless. The table I was seated was a single seat reminiscent of a school and while the hostess was enthusiastic, I couldnt help but notice that every time she turned around she would be frowning and not enjoying her employment there. The table itself was very flimsy almost tipping over if you pushed it with weight on it. The food especially was not good. I got their curry and rice which was not seasoned correctly at all. The "parfait" had no yogurt in it which is very misleading and could be consumed with literally two or three bites. A big disappointment for what was nearly a $66 meal.
Came here from a friends' birthday celebration and we were met with two maids. Half of the menu was unavailable and what we got was much to be desired. The prior reviews about the food quality are true. Mostly reheated stuff. The vegetables were very mushy and the food was very bland.
