Great service I mean they are fast. The American food is mid range perhaps the chinese food is a higher quality. Open late so it's a great meeting place for friends out of town.
I like the food here. My mom, brother, and I come here a lot when we do not know where else is a good place to eat.
Chicken steak with black pepper sauce and spaghetti. I haven't really tried any other dish, but highly recommend chicken steak. Their hours are good too if you want late night food.
Specials throughout the day. Breakfast deals are tops, but so are the crowds. Second best is the tea time from about 330pm to 530pm. Open for outdoor dining until 10pm.
Full menu HK style cafe both Chinese and western come with drinks or milk tea. Dinner with free soup of the day and free dessert. Good prices just bring your empty stomach.
Dishes are very delicious great service if you ask for extra help they always smile and happy to do so you get a VIP treatment with very fear prices too Barbecue chicken duck pork …. ECT are must dish Try that if you’re in town
Friendly and helpful staff. Great BBQ. And authentic HK western food. Have the milk tea and get enough caffeine to last 24 hours.
Great customer service! If Fanny is there she will take care of you! Food is always great. Everything we order is good. Try the lemon iced tea.
You get a lot of food for your dollar, and it's good too. Can be really busy on weekends, but you can't beat the deal. Get any of the breakfast deals. One of those can feed 2 people.
There's a good variety of dishes here and even though I came here when they only had outdoor dining, it was a good experience given everything that's going on. Definitely recommend.
Food quality is reasonable. Good customer service. Oh! Try the 雞蛋仔, pretty good.
The best Chinese BBQ💯🔥my favorite and happy place. Will keep coming back. Everyone is so nice.
Been coming here for over 20+ years. Food and service is good. Very attentive. It's that and why they are still around.
This place is right next to our favorite dive of a bowling alley so we tend to go here late night after we bowl. The food here is great. I'm from Boston and there are certain dishes you can get there that I could never find out here, until this place. Make sure you try the pepper pork chop it's the best.
Love there so much. Good environment and peaceful place, not so much bother and wonderful cuisine. Absolutely It is so delicious, fish rice is my favorite. I often talk someone business over there. Bring my laptop and use fast WiFi that would be perfect all day.
We eat here all the time because it's great. Food is great. Service is friendly.
Doesn’t taste outstanding, but taste like home!!! HongKongers must try. Their 蒸腸粉taste exactly like the street food store next to荃灣MTR exit B. I ordered delivery from DoorDash and had to wait more than 30mins for the food to come, but the 腸粉was still bouncy. Love it!!!!
food is pretty good and they actually have some Cantonese BBQ stuff on the ready so that's always good. they had put up tents in their parking lot for outdoor dining right now. the staff are very friendly and helpful too.
One of my favorite place around Alhambra, come almost weekly. For those not familiar with Hong Kong style café, they serve Chinese food with food that is an interpretation of Western(American) food. The menu varies by restaurant but you can usually find spam with eggs, in soup and various version of American sandwiches with different meats and cheese, and usually a type of Club Sandwich, though it might not have the meats and cheeses you might expect. Also, most places have French Toast, usually very good. A little crisp on the outside, soft center, with butter and maple syrup. Careful, sometimes they might have peanut butter or red bean inside(not at U2)! U2 also serves a variety of grilled meats with American style veggies and a choice of steamed rice or spaghetti with a tomato sauce(not really Italian). Their chef has always cooked our meats perfectly(Filet Mignon, Pork Chop, & Chicken Breast). Big portions so usually share with a friend. Great ice tea(with lemon or orange), pre-sweetened or not. They have a café menu and a full Chinese dishes menu that you'll have to ask for if you don't sit in the BBQ section. Oh, the restaurant has 2 sections, Café or BBQ. They have great cream soups for about $7.50. Like the Cream with Mushroom and the Cream with Sweet Corn & Chicken. Everything is pretty much excellent. Cold beer around $5 and great service from the waitresses and Manager Eric.
Been coming here for years, the best HK cafe style dishes, go for the prime rib dishes, red pepper or black pepper or mushroom sauce,50% done. And other Cantonese stye dishes. low priced and Yum-o!
Good price for the quality of food. Especially I like their breakfast, so many selection from chinese to western. My favorite breakfast place.
By far the among the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at. Went on Labor Day and got the following Eel on Curry Rice, Fried Squid with Spicy Salt, and Spaghetti Bolognese. All 3 were far beyond the quality i'm used to for each item, in the sense that they were all super flavorful. Eel on curry rice has very delicious eel (the kind you get in Eel Bowls) on a bed of tasty curried rice in a neat Bento box. Fried Squid was as it sounds, fried squid with some salt and sliced jalapenos (I assume that was the pepper) and a side of white rice. The cook on the Squid was perfect and the seasoning was perfect even if I can't handle spice well. The Spaghetti Bolognese was extremely flavorful, the noodles in spite of barely being covered in sauce under layer on top had a lot of flavor all on there own that made the overall dish very delicious. I Highly recommend it.
Came for HK breakfast items. Plenty to choose from and plenty of combos for a deal. Decently priced, quality of food was good, milk tea and lemon iced tea was very good. They have an extensive menu if HK breakfast is not what you want. A deli section with roasted meat.
Nice authentic food and big portion, staff is very friendly
Great friendly service and food in SG area.
Best Cantonese food with Western dishes also available, as served in many Cafe style restaurants around. Their lemmon iced tea is the best. Only Tasty Garden before had a similar lemmon iced tea, and that's why I love it here(my favorite drink)
I have to endorse this place again, been here for breakfast a few times lately and become a regular. Time and again, the food is hot, made to order, and neatly presented. There’s ample parking and seating options as well. Keep up the great work, management!
Great service, good food. Don't know about prices because I was there for a friend's shower but the service was great. So friendly.
Last day in the area, this was my third HK style restaurant. Best so far. Food was good and service was great. I hope I tried this place first and I would have come here everyday.
Great foods and services, one of the most tasty Hong Kong style cafe in town. They also offer lunch, tea time and dinner specials! Very reasonable prices! All waitresses are very friendly! Highly recommended!!!
Fantastic food. Great service. San Gabriel Valley's hidden gem. They have the BBQ side and the Cafe side. The Cafe side has Hong Kong Cafe style food. Usually a dish eaten by one person. The BBQ side has more traditional dishes that are meant to be shared by a family, or eaten family style. Everything is shared and passed equally.
A yummy lunch with friends and fantastic service! Our lemon ice teas never got empty! Our server was so sweet too! I mentioned that the soup of the day was my favorite so she told me it's always on Sundays and brought me a second bowl! The shrimp and egg chow fun was the star dish today! We enjoyed the salt and pepper pork chops as well as the fish and veggies, needed something healthy lol. Tried the spaghetti bolognese cuz I read some good reviews. It was good but didn't go with everything else lol. Had to end the meal with some egg waffles! Yum! They just started having dinner specials and have weekday specials, not valid on holidays and a great selection of happy hour items too. One of my fav Chinese cafes.
Seen this restaurant so many times passing by from the 99 Ranch Market and always wanted to check it out. Well today was a good start! After finding parking on the street *Their parking lot was full* we were immediately greeted and seated upon walking up. Didn't take long to scan and order from the menu. I ordered Hainan chicken with garlic rice, wifey ordered Singaporean noodles, kiddo spring rolls & fried shrimp. Everything was delicious and a bit more than expected. We'll be back to try more from their menu. Service was excellent/friendly and plenty of seating in or outside large patio area. Dining in is an option however patio was more pleasant. Practice social distancing here, sanitize and very clean. I'll give them 5 stars for their excellence.
My daily go to HK style cafe, very authentic HK style cafe, milk tea, coffee, lunch special $11-13 per order.
I tried The place with my sister. The place has an A rating. It's clean, open and easy to get to. There is easy access to the parking lot. The restaurant has a takeout side and a dine-in side. The service was friendly and quick. We had the fried pork chop with tomato sauce over rice and Hong Kong style chow mein. They give you plenty of food. We paid about $32. Pretty reasonable for the amount of food and quality. We look forward to trying other dishes in the future.

The staff is very polite and friendly, and the food is always yummy 😋 They have a service button so you don't need to wait around 👍🏼✨ There's a small patio area to sit with your fur baby. Im glad they still have that set up, I love going there my dog 🐕
One of the few dine in spots in SGV, that comply with the social distancing protocols. Food is good, with good service. They also have bbq items to go. We had the yee mein, baked bolognese, and masago fried rice.
Just had our Fraternity reunion there for Betas Cal State LA. The Staff really went out their way to make it a wonderful time. Quick food service but took care of all the details. Even exchanged our plates half way thru our meal as we had quit a few pork and chicken bones. Just plain nice Staff. Give them a try and you'll be a regular like we will!!!
My favorite place to dine it's been many years I always go there for family dinner, friends gathering. They also have a vip room. I love the meat pasta and egg waffle there.
U2 Cafe was a great experience overall. The atmosphere was welcoming, the place was clean, and the service was attentive. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and was well prepared. I would definitely come back again.
Absolutely amazing experience at U2 Cafe! The service truly stood out, especially thanks to our waiter, Fanny. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Her positive attitude and professionalism really elevated our visit and made us feel well taken care of. Outstanding service like this is what keeps customers coming back highly recommend!
Great experience at U2 Cafe! The service was amazing, and our server Fanny was incredibly helpful and kind. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. She truly made our visit enjoyable. Highly recommend U2 Cafe, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Fanny as your server!
Recently ate at U2 Café and BBQ, and once again the food came out promptly, fresh, and delicious. What made this visit even better was our server, Fanny. She was attentive, friendly, and always on top of anything we needed. Her service truly elevated the entire experience. This has become our go‑to spot whenever we go out for a family dinner, and we’ll definitely be back soon.
U2 Cafe continues to impress I have been here multiple times. The environment is clean and inviting, and the service is consistently good. Everything we ordered was flavorful and nicely presented. Highly recommend stopping by.
This is one of the places that has been a staple for decades but doesn't get talked about enough. People will rarely recommend this place or think of it when they're looking for a HK Cafe but don't let that deter you from giving this place a try! Solid breakfast deals and all the good stuff you expect. Also the staff are very nice and attentive!

This is the place to chill in the afternoon for a chat or catch up with friends. They serve Hong Kong Cafe food with a mix of Asian and Western cuisines. One of my favorite in San Gabriel to catch up with friends.
Outdoor dining is set up safely for Covid19 compliance. The food is OK and served quickly and dishes reasonably priced. It provides quick fix for Chinese food craving.
This place has pretty good food! The pork chop over rice is really good and they give big pork chop slices. The duck is also fresh.
Kids have no complaints on this...
Competition is high here in Alhambra for Cantonese food. This BBQ place is acceptable and the price is reasonable. Parking is easy, good place to grab a bite. Recommend!
Busy on Thanksgiving day, see those pre order Turkeys are wrap in plates like at least 50 of them or more. Came in order stir fry string beans and chicken hotpot. Chicken hotpot took a while to served.string beans is tasty.
We 3 Siblings went this 2 times since, afterward, Alice mom had passed away from Uterus & Kidney July 18, 2022 @12:30pm. Both Parents are both in Heaven Buried Rose Hills 🌹 Cemetery IN Whittier & Including both Side of Families & Relatives!
We have eaten here many times in the past. Mainly because of the convenience. Today we ordered several dishes and all were good. I feel that the food quality has improved from a few years ago.
Good service, decent to good food. This place is similar to the other cafes like JJ, Jr, Nice, etc. The service was good and they even patiently explained their menu.. everyone was masked so that was nice. We accidentally spilled a cup of iced tea and they were quick to clean it up and very understanding. I did not detect any attitude or annoyance. The food was good but not great. I'd come back.
Another place that is very good for Chinese breakfast. I believe it is good for breakfast because isn't heavier. However, lunch and dinner can still improved because sometimes the quality of steaks or even baked items are okay (Chinese BBQ items is very good). Another thing that service over there is good here. Also, Parking over there is very good and also we have ton of street parking on S Vega Street. Overall, Breakfast and Chinese BBQ items is recommended for this place because it is worth. (only my thought).
Primarily liked because of the friendly environment. Good place to sit and chat for a long time. Food portions are large. Cheaper than the other Hong Kong Western style restaurants. Been coming here since the 1990s.
I come here for the breakfast menu mostly on the weekends and sometimes lunch. I do like their chicken cutlet because they give you 2 giant pieces of panko fried chicken with rice/spaghetti and veggies. The service here is pretty darn good when compared to other Asian cafes in the San gabriel Valley area.
Reasonably priced menu. Average price $9.95 per plate. Sino Chinese style with little Indonesian flavor. Good portion but nothing spectacular. A good place for family gathering nevertheless.
Food - Selection - 4 stars; Taste - 3 stars, Price - $$ for the quality; but quantity shrunk if compared with a year ago. 5 stars for unlimited refill on selected drinks. Service - 5 stars, attentive and friendly. Parking - clean and has a overflow to the bank parking next door.
U2 is like two Chinese restaurants in one location: one section is the Hong Kong style cafe and the other a more traditional Cantonese BBQ style. They even use different menus but you can order food from either one. The food is average for the San Gabriel valley area. Service is friendly in general. Price is value oriented.
Really enjoyed my visit to U2 Cafe. The staff was welcoming, and the overall experience was smooth and pleasant.
Used to be better. Price went up, portions became small. But the taste is still good.
I often come to ,the service is good. Try some of their lunch specials. The price is very reasonable. If you are three to four people together, the total cost should not over 120 after tax. Plenty of parking. The bathroom was clean. Their tea and coffee are unlimited refills. the chicken and pork are good, and the duck is better.
Been coming here for 2 decades lol. they still play the same hong kong pop song piano covers. i did a review of the 2023 version of this place, it's on my yt channel. we had the Shredded Pork Vermicelli in soup with Pickle and the satay instant noodle with egg ham sandwich. the good ole days..lol
I went to U2 Cafe on a Tuesday night. It was quiet and there were maybe 5 tables filled. Food was good. I enjoyed the baked spinach and fish dish a lot. Steak was good and cooked well. Soup was good and my kids got soup too! Definitely will come back for breakfast.
Sometimes the 3-star ratings in SGV are the best ones. U2 actually has good service and good food. They're located on the corner of Valley Blvd and Vega. When you exit New Ave from the 10, head north. They have an odd parking situation as the entrance is around the corner. There's plenty of parking though. They have a lot of space inside for seating. At the time of my visit recently, they were decorated and very U2-themed. There is a fun "I love U2" sign near the bathrooms. I got the baked bolognese, and it was good! I recommend getting the lunch deals here. You can add a drink for only $2.25 and the coffee/teas have free refills! Their happy hour is 3-5 PM every day, including weekends. Servers mostly speak Cantonese but English/Mandarin are good too. Something to note is they are so close to the daycare center. There's kids screaming to be heard all the time. (also posted on Yelp)
The ambiance is ok. Not crowded. Parking is not a challenge. Service is ok. Menu is long. Most are HK-style dishes that are quite appealing although not the healthiest. Portions are big. One can usually order one dish and have some leftover to take away. Prices are good.

This place is like many of the Hong Kong style eateries around the San Gabriel and Alhambra area. I enjoy mixing Western and Eastern cuisine so I always enjoy HK style food. Would go again and definitely recommend if you like HK food. Menu was decently large too.
The waitress I have this time is very friendly!! Even though she is busy, but she makes sure our refill is done the right way, which is lemon tea without ice. The lemon tea taste very good even without ice compared with lemon tea without ice in other cafe, it would be like drinking heavy sugar water. Food is average, but pork chop with sauce(western baked or Chinese onion sauce) is bad because they use other type of meat to substitute for it. Either that, or just used bad quality pork chop, which had as lot of gat. Don't recommend it.
Bbq meat and satay noodle are okay only, not as good as others
Milk tea is mediocre but this is one of the few old school HK style cafe with baked dishes, including ox tongue. They also have a "BBQ" section you can order from.
Not much meat left. This place is famous about its delicious, Chinese Barbecue meats with very special honey mixed sources! However, it has very specific time to serve its fresh and newly made chicken and pork meats and other products. It is usually about 11 am to 3 pm. If you have to work and miss the golden time, then you have to face the old meats and leftovers. I have to work so I arrived at 5 pm. As you can imagine, I could only get some morning meats and leftovers, but I still get some squids and Barbecue pork and roast, old pork. I know that for people who has to go to work, that is the best I can get.
Another HK cafe reopened for outdoor dining. Went there today for lunch. A lot of people there and we had to wait for 20 minutes before were seated. The seats are setup with dividers between tables under a big tent. All staffs are wearing masks and face shield. They do sanitize tables between customers. They have all the Cantonese dishes that would expect a HK cafe. But the taste of the dishes are ordinary. Portions are small too. Prices are medium to high compared to other HK cafes down the street. One thing stood out was their egg waffle. They did a good job on this one. The taste is very similar to the ones in HK. Other dishes are not too bad but not outstanding giving the portions are relatively small. The fried noodle with seafood was a bit fishy smell. Didn’t know how this dish was done. Normally, the smell is fresh and full of Wok Hei. The curry is not too bad, the only things was that the dish had very few beef briskets and beef tendons. Finally, the milk tea, this was done right, not too bad. Overall, I was not impressed. Other people must be impressed since the restaurant was crowded during lunch time when we were there on Saturday.

This is for the Cafe side. Service was awful. They bring you menus and stand at your table asking you if. you have decided. Then they don't return for 15 minutes. Then they get order wrong. Ordered 4 items. Got 2 items and half of drink order, 20 minutes later got item 3 and other drinks. Never got item 4.
I have been coming to this place since long time ago, and never had an issue until 10/1/2022. My cousin is in town visiting, so I took him to enjoy some authentic Hong Kong style food. We were seated by a waiter who I am familiar with, and he was friendly and nice as usual. A waitress came over and took our order. We ordered via Cantonese (I am fluent by the way). My cousin ordered an udon, and I ordered chicken steak. The waitress asked me if I want rice or pasta in Cantonese. I asked if I can have French fries. She gave me an attitude and said “I already asked if you want French fries (she said French fries in English).” I was shocked as she was bit rude. She then turned and walked away. The udon was pretty bad. The broth is very watery. It is like udon in hot water, not even with the MSG packet. The chicken steak was good as usual that the chicken skin was very crispy. It was tender and flavorful. Two stars for the chicken steak. After we paid our bill, I asked the same waitress for some tape (in cantonese, I know it is odd) because my cousin needed to tape something in his car. She pointed to the other side “ask them!” I told her that someone directed me to come ask her. The waitress sounded very annoyed “what do you need again (in Cantonese)?” I told her tape in Cantonese. She said, “what?” The nice waiter brought me the tape patiently. The waitress then said “oh, tape (in English).” I wonder if I should start speaking English when I come to this authentic Hong Kong style restaurant next time. I do not mind speaking English if that will make the ordering process easier. The waitress will definitely benefit in some training as she could have ask me to speak to her in English. I also would like to give her benefit of the doubt as she might have a bad day. Hope she will have a better day, when I return next time.
One of the worst services I have had for a while and slow. Waitress is not attentive after asking a several times.
Fire duck rice too expensive , charge $15.5 only 3 PCs duck meat, the other all duck bones and taste no good . Don't order it when you go to U2
If you want to settle for terrible service and barely mediocre food, this is the place to eat. Waiters are all friends and talk to each other rather than customers. They all have a terrible attitude and act like they're all that, which is hilarious with them being waiters. If this place got be rated zero or even negatives, that'd be the perfect way to describe this place. Never come here.
Don’t ever come here, ordered food didn’t ask me if I wanted Togo or not put food Togo then when I was trying to sit down and eat the guy with glasses who charged me told me that I can’t eat there, by the way barbecue chef wasn’t wearing gloves when he was cutting preparing my food ,nasty food
Lazy cooks that can’t cook… Came here June 1st around 3:30pm… This is suppose to be medium rare rib eye steak with pork chop… ordered with spicy garlic sauce… had to wash the steak down with sauce cause I was in a rush and just didn’t want to waste food… tried to get more sauce and the server told me they needed to charge $1 for extra sauce… I looked at her and told her to look at the steak and asked you seriously gonna try to charge for the sauce? look at your medium rear steak… she later came back out with the none spicy garlic sauce and told me they had to charge extra for the spicy sauce cause the cooks needs to make it… So mystery solved… it’s the cooks that doesn’t want to move and do their job… they should’ve just quit rather than wasting food… I could’ve done a way better job when he did although I don’t know how to cook that well either…
The egg dessert snack was too hard, dry, and cold the first time around. The waiter took it and remade another one but the second one also came out hard and dry, but at least hot. I would say it’s subpar compared to the ones sold in Macau, Hong Kong, or even Richmond, B.C., Canada. The main dish, bbq pork and roasted duck was not fresh at all. Dry and over done like it was put in the microwave to heat up for me. I was not impressed and won’t return again. This is my first and last time here. Don’t recommend at all. The service was mediocre. They didn’t seem too happy if you told them their food was not good. They need to learn customer service skills. A big thing that Chinese people are lacking unless trained by a western restaurant management.
The server's attitude is terrible. I mean, I'm the guy paying them tips and the bills, I don't get why she's the one who's getting all emotional over me being slow at ordering. I'll come here just for the food, but the server man... You guys need to teach them patience like Jesus Christ.
I got cheated. I ordered a takeout and ate a breakfast the bill should be that high, the waitress hold on to the check without letting me see it. She said I ordered two items plus tax it'll be $33.51. How came because the 2 items I ordered: One pork breakfast $14.99 + takeout noodle $13.99+ tax = 30.41 not beef steak breakfast which is $1 more. If I added another 20% tax on $30.41 that's $33.51 which means I paid tax twice. Moreover the takeout noodle and I ask for extra spicy, little did I know when I pay the bill they added extra fee for that high. They should tell me first during the order before charging. Also, they throw the BBQ pork on the weighting scale to get the price and removed it very quickly, before the scale settled, so the price charged is more than the actual weight. That's cheating. On the positive side after they remodeled the restaurant is more contemporary. Hong Kong style Cafe and Cantonese food.
I had an extremely disappointing experience with our server, Fanny. She came across as rude and unprofessional from the start, showed poor communication skills, and seemed more interested in gossiping than actually helping customers. Basic requests felt like an inconvenience, and there was no effort to be welcoming or attentive. The overall attitude was unfriendly and dismissive, which really ruined the dining experience. This was by far the worst service I’ve encountered here, and it left a very negative impression.
