I kept hearing about people raving about this place as best Hainan Chicken place in SGV. That is saying a lot as SGV is Mecca of authentic Chinese food in SoCal if not USA. The dining area is a bit limited. There is seating indoors but barely 2 tables and counter seating. There is outdoor seating on the side however. Hainan chicken will not disappoint. It is just delicately prepared. Tender and flavorful.

It has been awhile since I have eaten here. It continues to be one of the top places to eat Hainan chicken. For a small strip mall type restaurant, this place still impresses! The chicken is moist and the sauces are phenomenal. The subtle heat in the orange sauce and the delicate flavor of ginger oil sauce add to the whole meal. Definitely a must try.

Savoy doesn’t need an introduction. It’s the best place in my opinion for Hainan chicken. The chicken is cooked perfectly and the rice is always on point. So much flavorful packed into this meal. The icing on the cake or should I say rice is the sauce. Love the ginger dipping sauce! I’d like to try their other menu items one day. I also love that their prices are affordable! Service is also great- friendly and quick, no frills.

Parking can be difficult. Place is very small and does not seat a lot of people indoors. The servers are not rude but not friendly -- just neutral. The Hainan chicken itself was okay. The white meat is dry, so definitely pay the $1 to upgrade to dark meat. Price is fine: about $14 for dark meat chicken and rice. The sauces are very good; I love the ginger one, and their sour spicy sauce is pretty good too. The soy sauce is fine. The vegetable curry felt like a better overall deal for about $12. The curry was a little too spicy (they didn't ask how spicy), but flavor was fine. Overall it was just kind of okay.

Ordered the Hainan Chicken Rice and Curry Seafood. The chicken is pretty alright, good portion and taste. But the rice seems to be more wet than it needs to be. The rice does have a chicken fragrance and taste to it, but I think it could have cooked longer to let some moisture off. The curry seafood is pretty good too with a lot of chunks of seafood like scallops and shrimp. You have the choice of a rice or pasta on the side. Either way, you should mix it and let it sit for a bit with the curry in order for the rice/pasta to soak some of the curry flavor in. Location was moderately busy for a weekday dinner, seating outside is enough and pleasant on a warm day. There is a parking lot across the street or you can street park but beware of the time limit.

I don’t know what’s going on with their food, but it’s far below my expectations. The Hainanese chicken rice is dry and flavors are just ok. Rice itself has no flavor. And The pastas are all too sour. The only good thing is the iced coffee which has the same taste everywhere.

This place is small. You can eat indoors or outdoors. I tried their hainan chicken with rice and salad. The white chicken was okay. The sauces didn't do anything for me; I was expecting better. The shrimp rolls were alright but very small. The servers were nice. They brought out the food fast. You can park on the street or park in their designated parking lot, which is across the street from the restaurant. You should see their restaurant name in red on the white building. My friend parked on the other side of the main street. Crossing at that crosswalk can be dangerous because the drivers don't pay attention.

This is a no fuss dining experience. You get in line and place your order and they bring it out. We ate out side in the patio so flies were a bit of an issues. Street parking or a parking lot across the street, but it was very tight and cramp. I was overly excited for this place because a lot of bloggers speak highly of the place but for me, the food was mediocre and the sauce the came with the chicken was not mind blowing. The hainan chicken was a little too soft for me. The rice was rather dry. The pepper steak was decent and better than the chicken in my opinion. This is a once and done restaurant for me, not worth the drive from OC as banana bay in Rowland heights have the same dish, but better.

This place has been around forever and a fave of many friends but somehow I didn't have chance to visit during college years so I can't provide a comparison. As it is, the place has its charm yes but of course must not compare their house specialty Hainan Chicken Rice to those in Singapore or in Asia as theirs will pale in comparison. In appreciation of us being in the US, this was passable. Their set also didn't come with broth so we had to order separately. The broth was really tasty and balanced the dish well, a pity it wasn't paired. Wait to sit at patio on off hours was very long for our group of 6 (with 3 children and a dog), they also didn't let us order first although they were quite apologetic about it.

Only thing worth ordering is the ginger sauce. Quite honestly a big let down. I've had the chicken in Singapore, and HK, so I know what is should be like. The rice was dry, chicken had no essence. Sauces were good. Took forever to get extra. Not enough but for three bites worth. Still don't get why people wait here. It didn't bother me but you should exercise some discretion, a food server petted a customer's dog quite a bit, then proceeded to serve the table next to us their food. Pizza tasted liked boxed frozen pizza; no I apologize, frozen pizza deserve more respect than the one that was served. Pork curry was really tough and no flavor. Two stars is being generous but the cashier was very pleasant and the ginger sauce was the star.

I was disappointed by the unprofessional behavior during my visit. While paying, I gave a cash tip and the server threw it back at me and directly told me I “had to” tip 10–15%, which made me very uncomfortable. It was on older asian lady and on top of that didn’t provide welcoming service either. Tipping should always be at the customer’s discretion and based on the quality of service received. Being pressured about a tip crossed a boundary and took away from the dining experience. Regardless of expectations, it is inappropriate to comment on or demand a specific tip amount from a guest. I hope management addresses this, as it reflects poorly on the service.
