Opinions de Dolan's Uyghur Cuisine Alhambra
I really enjoyed my experience at Dolan's. Admittedly this was my first exposure to Uyhghur cuisine of any kind but it was definitely a great start. Everything was really fresh, well prepared and perfectly seasoned. Also really enjoyed the tea and birds nest baklava. Service was friendly, attentive and comfortable. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
I'll just say, try the Samsa. It's amazing. So flaky and the beef is perfectly marinated and cooked. Everything else is also amazing. The restaurant also looks so homey and cozy. The owner is also very kind and comforting. It feels like eating at someone's house. Honestly, top three restaurant in Los Angeles. It's probably my eight time here, and everyone I bring here loves it. You can never go wrong with Dolan's.
This is such a wonderful Uyghur restaurant! Service is always great, generous portion size, and delicious food. This is the big plate chicken with extra noodle. The noodles are fresh and have a nice texture. I also recommend the samsa (flaky pastry with beef inside!)
First time here and willing to come more to try other dishes! Samosas and the pie were amazing. Lamb skewers were great, too.
Amazing food and experience here. The special tea and special Laghman noodles are so delicious and flavorful. Definitely coming back to try more dishes and desserts!!
I visited Dolan’s Uyghur Cuisine in Alhambra and it quickly became one of the most interesting dining experiences I had in the San Gabriel Valley. Uyghur cuisine blends influences from Central Asia, China, and the Middle East, and the menu here reflects that unique combination of flavors. One of the standout dishes is the lamb skewers. The meat is grilled over high heat and seasoned heavily with cumin, chili, and spices that give the skewers a bold and aromatic flavor. The lamb remains tender while developing a slightly crisp exterior from the grill. Another highlight is the laghman noodles. These are hand-pulled noodles served with stir-fried vegetables and meat in a savory sauce. The noodles have a great chewy texture and absorb the flavors of the dish well. The Uyghur polo, a rice dish cooked with lamb, carrots, and spices, is also worth trying. The rice carries the aroma of the spices while the lamb adds richness to the dish. The restaurant itself has a casual dining environment with a steady flow of customers, many of whom appear to be regulars. That is usually a good sign that the restaurant maintains authentic flavors. Service during my visit was friendly and efficient, and the dishes arrived at the table quickly. Overall, Dolan’s Uyghur Cuisine offers a distinctive and flavorful introduction to Uyghur food in the Los Angeles area. If you enjoy grilled meats, hand-pulled noodles, and bold spice combinations, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting.
Tons of parking. A few tables were open when we got there, and we quickly realized it was because the food comes out exceptionally fast. Everything we ordered was incredible, perfectly spiced and in reasonable portions. Staff was very polite. This is the best place I've eaten in a while. 10/10 for me. Can't wait to go back!
I came here for the first time with a friend and it ended up being an amazing experience. I had no expectations walking in, but once the food arrived, every dish impressed me. The flavors were rich, well balanced, and incredibly satisfying. Each bite felt thoughtfully prepared and full of character. Everything looked just as good as it tasted, which made the experience even better. This was a type of cuisine I had never tried before, and I was genuinely happy to discover it. Every item we ordered was spot on, and I left excited to come back and explore more of the menu.
Being from Almaty, I’m very familiar with Uyghur cuisine, and I can honestly say that Dolan’s Uyghur Cuisine is one of the best places I’ve found here in the city. The dishes are authentic, full of rich flavors, and very well-prepared. From the hand-pulled noodles to the savory lamb dishes and the perfectly spiced rice, everything tastes just like home. The staff is incredibly polite and welcoming, which makes the dining experience even better. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. I truly appreciate the care they put into the food and the service. If you love authentic Uyghur cuisine or want to try it for the first time, Dolan’s is a must-visit. Everything we tried was delicious, and I can’t wait to come back and try even more dishes.
Came here for dinner and tried three different dishes. The portions are great we could not finish and were stuffed. Every bite was delicious and beautifully seasoned. I'm very excited to have leftovers and to go back soon.
What a delightful surprise. I was brought here by a friend, and I didn't know what to expect, but when we were served, the flavors were... I don't even know how to describe this, but they tasted as beautiful as they looked. Full of bright flavor..savory..heated..garlicy take your pick.. everything we ordered was perfect.id never had this cuisine and I've had many.. so so happy i was brought here..i shall return to try more plates without a doubt.
I visited this restaurant on 5/25 and had a really enjoyable time. The server was very friendly, and we ended up having a great conversation. We even shared a similar ethnic background, which made the experience feel more personal—I'm Kyrgyz, so we understood each other well. I ordered Laghman, Nan, Uyghur special tea, and kebab. I'm not usually a big fan of Laghman, but I’d say it was pretty decent. The tea, on the other hand, was excellent—I stayed until I finished the whole teapot. The kebab was okay, though I expected it to be a bit bigger. And of course, Nan is always a classic—warm, fresh, and delicious.
So good!!! I lived in Shanghai for many years and my favorite restaurant was a very authentic Xinjiang restaurant on Urumqi Rd. I’ve been missing the flavors ever since I moved back to the US, but this restaurant 100% hit the spot. My all time fave comfort food was always 烤包子 and 丁丁炒面 Samsa and pearl noodles. These were just amazing. I brought two friends who had never tried Uyghur cuisine and they also loved it!
This is a sign for you to try Uyghur cuisine if you have not before. It is like a fusion of Persian, Mediterranean, and Chinese cuisine. Super delicious, big portions and fair price. The boneless chicken plate was huge and came with so much chicken. Everything looked great and tasted even better. The special tea is also great, one may even say their specialty. Would highly recommend to try this place.
I came here with my family on a Sunday night. I had mixed expectations as I am a big fan of Turkish food and a big fan of Chinese food. Although the place was packed, and they could use more seating, the food was impeccable. I really like everything. It was a bit of a wait, but that’s because the food is so good that a lot of people want it. The people were nice. The food was great especially because I enjoy spicy food. The noodles were fresh and you could tell they were homemade. We ended the night with a yogurt, dessert and a honey cake which was also amazing. Everything was fresh. Ambience was great. I will definitely be back for more. the meat tasted amazing and fresh as well. It’s very unique and worth the wait. If you are a foodie, then you will definitely love this place. I have not eaten this cuisine anywhere in the world before. I still can’t get over how fresh noodles were.
Good place to try some Uyghur food. Inside is bright and comfortable. Lightly but tastefully decored. Plenty of tables. It's a good place for small groups. The laghman noodles and gosh nan were good but could have used some extra spice for my own taste. Lamb kabobs were good though. Would come back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. Small parking lot in back.
If you like halal and spicy food, you should stop by Dylan's Uyghur cuisine. Yesterday my boyfriend really enjoyed chicken skewers and big plates of chicken (大盤雞). I liked the lamb kabobs and the chicken skewers. The milk tea was pricey but I enjoyed it 's salty taste. We also ordered spicy rice noodles dish with beef but it was super spicy for me. A lot leftover the big plates of chicken even we ordered half of it, the portions could feed four people.
serving sizes were all big and and they had fair prices. nice atmosphere and friendly staff. chicken plate was really good, nice spice, chicken was very tasted potatoes were soft and flat noodles were good. got the small plate and it was still huge. loved the samsa too (soft pastry and VERY tasty meat-my favorite). kabobs were cooked well and tasty too, juicy and spiced well. lamb wasnt gamy and tasted nice. didnt really liked the goshnaan, it was wet in yhe bottom and i felt like the meat was slightly lacking in flavor. wish it had some type of sauce. but the crust was amazing. burd's nest isnt much just kanafeh w syrup and few pistachios. their tea is sooo good and has a beautiful aftertaste! recommend it a lot!
Wanted to try Uyghurs cuisine for quite sometime, so get a chance to try this place. Almost every tables have the big chicken plate, it was too big for us so we ordered the lamb skewers, fried naan beef plate and beef noodles. Not sure what to expect, the lamb skewers were good. The fried naan beef plate was way too much dried spices, too overwhelming. The beef noodles has a different flavor. Like sweet and sour beef with noodles. However, the Malayan Tea pot was really good. Combinations of rose pedals, tea leaves and cardemom was so fragrant! That saved the meal.
