Great quiet store for a quick lunch at 3pm after lunch hour rush. The potato salad, dumplings and beef noodles were all great. Ordered kelps but now I know kelps is not my favourite, no fault of 1919 though 😂

Perfect handmade noodles with so many thickness options, tasty beef soup with irresistible flavor of spices, aromatic chili oil… this bowl of noodle always make my day. Free parking in the spacious parking garage.

1919 features Lanzhou style noodles and cuisine from Gansu province. The menu offers soups, dry noodle dishes and dumplings, mostly with beef, pork and lamb (this is northern Chinese cuisine). Many of the soups in particular come with a house made chili oil that has excellent spice and flavor. Personally, I recommend their spicy beef soup. The noodle selection is huge (six varieties from thin to thick and flat). The dumplings (beef, pork or lamb) are good, but honestly I would say the soup and dry noodle dishes are superior. The only negative is in my opinion there is a bit too much salt used and you can taste it afterwards. Service is cheerful and helpful with good suggestions if you ask. Prices are moderate. Fun fact; this restaurant is actually a famous chain with the original locations in China ;}

There is underground parking that can be accessed on Atlantic or Hellman. If entering from Atlantic, take the upstairs ramp. The restaurant is very close to AMC. (You can park downstairs, but you will need to find the stairs to walk up.) I do like the N2 braised beef noodle soup, N5 lamb noodle soup, and N4 spicy beef noodle soup. I love the flat noodles! I tried the beef rolls $12.99, but it's such a small portion. The ones at 101 Noodle Express are better (and they have a good green sauce too). Service is good. Credit card/Apple Pay accepted. Bathroom is available in the back.

The noodles they serve up are pretty generous, no denying that. But gotta say, feeling a bit let down by the skimpy meat portion. On a happier note though, the soup packs a real punch in the flavor department!

Surprisingly bountiful and delicious. The style is from Lanzhou, China. Particularly in the Gansu Province, where once the Silk Road ran along the only major city through which the Yellow River runs. Traditional hand-pulled noodles with a variety of offerings and flavors. A favorite is their house special, Beef Noodle. This differs from other Chinese variations with a clear type of broth and choice of spice levels offered here. There is also a focus on Halal meats. Lamb is also a regional favorite; if you choose this, you should be pleasantly surprised. There are also a number of side dishes of vegetables, Beef Rolls, and a most lovely order of steamed dumplings. The service is good with their limited staff at times. There are many take-away orders, which is often a sign that there are more customers who appear. Parking is plentiful in this shopping plaza, making this a great choice to catch a movie and a nice meal.

The broth and noodles were great and portions were generous, with plenty of meat. The service was fast and friendly as well. I'd eat it again.

I used to like this place! But last time I came here, service was still great, and while the noodles to broth ratio was OK, but the ratio of to meat was severely lacking. What used to be a whole slice was cut in half, plus, you finish the meat WELL before you even finish the noodles or broth. So while they kept prices low, you have to account for the extra $2+ you need to pay for extra meat, and even then, I'm not sure they'd give enough. *Old review down below for archival purposes* You can choose the hardness/softness, and the thickness of the noodles, all sorts of choices. The broth was really good. Proportions of meat to noodles was great! And their dumplings were nice! Not puffy, and filled with air. Packed with goodness in every bite!
