Opinions de Landon's Winery Allen
Live music was good, and the wine is always good. We love coming here. Their selection of wines has something for everyone's palette. From the sweet of Yellow Rose to bold reds and everything in between. Great place for a group since everyone can find something for them. Food is always good too. Nothing beats their patio in the summer!
We are from California and did a lot of wine tasting there. We have had a hard time finding good wine here until we went to Landon's. The wine was very good especially the Yellow Rose, Raspberry and the Chocolate finale. They serve a great cheese tray and the atmosphere was fun. We will be going there on a regular basis now that we found this jewel in Texas.
I love Landon's wine. You can get a bottle here for $10 - $25 depending on the wine. I have done a couple tastings which are a great deal - especially if you have never been or don't know what wines you like. The room is a good size there is a bar, an open area, a room that can be used as a private room and a large patio. I really enjoy coming on slower times. It can be a bit crowded and loud on summer weekends Saturday nights they usually have a band playing on the patio. This seems to be their busiest time but they also are very laid back on the weekdays and Sundays which is a nice mix. The cheese board is really good! If you want to sit and have a nice conversation with friends this is the place to be.
My boyfriend and I are enjoying The Texan vintage 2017. It is still fantastic and could age for several more years. He has never had Texas wine and immediately asked if we could order it. Yes!! Drinking this bottle took me back to my years at Landon and all the fun times I had there. Love to all my Landon family.
I absolutely love Landon Winery. I come in only about once a month but the last two months Meredith has served me and my friends. We spend a couple of hours and have the best time. Meredith has made a great winery a fantastic experience. I want to thank you for having wonderful team members that love customers like me.
Our non profit held an event at Landon Winery McKinney and was so impressed with their staff. Booking the event with Rhonda was great-she was warm and had helpful suggestions on our event details. Cathy was our go to during the event. She was efficient, knowledgeable and our guests all had great feedback on their interactions. Chef Armstead was awesome! His brunch board presentations were beautiful and delicious! He even sang happy birthday to one of our event attendees -which got a standing room of applause! Thank you to the Winery for a successful event-we would definitely recommend using them for any gatherings you may need to book
The taste of this wine can’t be beat, staff is absolutely amazing and also incredibly accommodating! 5/5 💥👌
We attended the Mother’s Day Brunch again this year!! We have attended these for several years now and as usual the Landon’s McKinney crew did NOT disappoint!! The set up this year was perfect!… We loved that it was set up in the large room and the serving areas were perfect! Rhonda, Cathy and the entire crew did an excellent job making sure all guests are taken care of! The only recommendation I heard was that offering coffee ☕️ during the brunch would make it an A++++!!! Thanks for providing a wonderful, friendly environment for us!! 😄 It’s like visiting family!! 🥰 And oh, by the way, the wine 🍷 is GREAT as well!!
Absolutely the best wine and service in McKinney! I’ve been several times. Definitely get the meat and cheese board - it’s delicious! The staff knows so much about wine, and they are so accommodating! The space itself is cozy and in the heart of downtown. Molly has been a favorite bartender to be specific. She cares so much about your experience!
Hands down, the best winery! The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly, so no matter what your level of wine experience is, they will help you find the perfect wine for your taste. And the wine is absolutely fantastic, too! Do not miss out on this gem!
I absolutely love this place! We host a cake pop retreat for women in McKinney twice a year and we always take them here for wine tasting and have a blast. This last time I was pregnant and didn't want anyone to know. The gorgeous woman behind the counter with long lashes and dark hair helped sneak Sprite in my glass and told the women that they weren't allowed to have what I was having! 🤣 Best service ever.
Enjoyed our wine tasting experience. Visited and tried out the tasting with a charcuterie board. The menu has options for every palette. My mom and sister were more sweet wine fans and I enjoy more dry options. We all found several we enjoyed. Will for sure be bringing friends and family here in the future for a glass of wine and good company. Plan to go back on a Wednesday to buy a few bottles during their wine down Wednesdays. Half off up to 3 bottles of wine.
We love Landon Winery! The flights + board is the best deal in town. We love their Red wines. Go grab yourself a table on the patio and enjoy Downtown McKinney.
Did the mothers day brunch. It was excellent food at an excellent value. My only suggestion would be to offer coffee during brunch. I don't drink it, but I hard several comments about coffee. I LOVED the juice options for the mimosas!
A nice spot centrally located in downtown for wine. There is ample indoor or outdoor seating available. Wines are available to taste, glass pour, or bottle. The bubbly we very nice this time. Service was okay but a little disorganized, likely due to other guests. Prices are reasonable. Will behaved family friendly. Parking may be tough at times. I'll be stopping by anytime I need some wine..
This is a charming and cozy place to enjoy a glass of wine and great conversation with friends. The wine selection is excellent, but the champagne truly stands out. It's phenomenal. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which adds to the warm atmosphere. Whatever you do, don’t skip the Landon charcuterie board. I’m not sure how they do it, but it pairs perfectly with everything! Highly recommend for a relaxed and enjoyable outing
Great Landon location - small patio in the front and a nice inside. I’ve been for a few events hosted and I’m a wine member there. They have great deals and kind servers
Has an amazing experience at the Grapevine location so decided to stop in (unplanned) strolling through Downtown McKinney. What a pleasant staff and venue. Definitely date night worthy.
Rhonda is excellent! She donated a bottle of wine to the McKinney Leadership Class dinner. Thanks so much!
Just realised I don't have any pictures inside Landon, because we go there to sit outside! :) What could be better than to people watch when sipping wine on a nice weather day at beautiful Historic downtown McKinney all at the same time? Especially when there're tones of good wine to choose from. Best value winery at the square imo. Highly recommend. 🍷🍷
My husband and I recently had our 15th Wedding Anniversary Celebration at Landon Winery in McKinney. The event was beyond amazing. The Winery staff were more than accommodating and our guest LOVED Mrs. Rhonda. She made our event wonderful from the day we booked. We will be hosting another event at the Winery very soon!!
Excellent wine and snacks. The staff was so friendly and nice. We had plenty of wine to try all delicious. We had an amazing time.
UPDATE : After a pleasant response to my initial review from the business I decided to stop by again. I chose a Sunday this time and it was not as busy. Rhonda was SO nice and she made the experience wonderful. I LOVE the frozen winarita’s and the spinach dip. I suggest stopping by on a Sunday when it’s not as busy and check them out! l love when businesses care to keep their customers happy. I’d recommend this winery ! I even purchased a gift card for a friend to check them out!
We were drawn to this place on the square in McKinney because it was bustling with people and had folks setting outside and relaxing at tables having wine. It was nice inside and had a decently large selection of wines to choose from. After sampling some different wines, we ordered and bottle of the Amarone with a cheese tray. Both the wine and food were good. Nice bathrooms too.
Loved every wine in each of our tasting and the place is beautiful and friendly! Great experience and Would recommend and come again
Great little spot on corner in downtown McKinney. We go on a lot of Wednesdays for “Wine Down Wednesday”. Great patio and people watching and easy to order a pizza from Cadillac Pizza a short walk away and eat it with your wine on the patio. Fun spot, great people watching and good wine!

If you want an intimate enjoyable wine experience, come here *McKinney* I've been coming up here for years now and can say the customer service is good. Why- because they are patient, knowledgeable, and seem to enjoy what they do. This is a place where regulars come, the food is good- not a bad menu selection for a small in venue establishment. The wine is beautiful. For a Texas local wine, this is one of my 2 favorites! Check them out, see if the wine club is for you, get a frozen☆ those are pretty awesome. Enjoy!
Been here at least a 1/2 dozen times. All the wines are good. Hard to pick a favorite. Try one of the tastings - you get 5 wines to try. They have some super sweet. I even liked the chocolate wine. Lots of different places to sit: outdoor patio, comfy living room style chairs, as well as some tables. They have some board games as well. All of the people that work here, although extremely busy at times, took care of us fast, and have a great attitude. We'll be back for sure!

We gad a wonderful time and enjoyed the wine. We were just confused about the table service. Best to ask if you have to order or if they wait on you because it depends on how busy they are. But we enjoyed the tasting & purchased a few bottles. Good experience overall.
Very busy location on the square in downtown McKinney. We were there on a Saturday and the place was hopping. The chef was singing and did a good version of Stand By Me among other requests. The wine at Landon is good with a wide range of dry and sweet to choose from. Reasonably priced by the glass or bottle to go, however the price of a bottle to drink there is crazy. We've been to literally dozens of wineries aross the country and this is the only one I can think of with that pricing structure. It just kept us from enjoying a bottle there. Wine club members do get a nice discount though. The two younger men behind the bar basically ignored everyone who wasn't a young girl (I kind of get it) but the ladies behind the bar were friendly and attentive to everyone. Worth stopping if you're a wine drinker.
Nice location in historic McKinney winery tasting, lets be real, winery drinking. Wide selection of Texas High-plains wines. Extremely bummed finding out the CabFranc was sold out. Plenty of seating in and outside and decently prices vintages.
Bit of a different service, order at the bar, then find seating. Had to go to the bar for any orders after initial order. Food came out on a small tray, had to ask for a plate, flatware and napkins. For area and price point expected more than a paper plate and paper napkins. Grilled cheese was good.
Nice, relaxing atmosphere and good wines. The offerings run from sweet reds to dry and dessert wines. The Yellow Rose, Raspberry, Peach, and Chocolate dessert wines are exceptional. The cheese board and spinach dip pair very well with all wines. I would recommend the tasting flight, they have so many options to choose from. Limited seating inside, but there is a lovely patio facing the Town Square with plenty of seating. Reasonable prices for a glass of wine. The downside is the staff, they are a bit snooty and aloof. Customers have to try and get their attention to buy anything. Definitely room for improvement on the service. 🍷

The wine is undrinkable, almost like it is sour or rancid and they were NOT happy to swap it out for another option. They all tasted like gasoline and I will drink just about anything. The staff was kind of friendly, they definitely did the bare minimum and the outdoor space was nice. I have wanted to go for quite some time since it was such a cute location with the patio but the wine was so atrocious we will not be back unfortunately.
Wine was good, patio is very nice, service not so great. We wanted to do a tasting & sit outside. We were told to select our wines & pay our tab inside. The wines were brought out to us & that was it. Nobody checked in on us to see if we had any questions or to explain the wines. Not even an offer of water. This place is about making money, not about promoting their wines. By the way, it was not a busy day for them, a lot of empty tables. This is just a bar, not a winery.
I know McKinney is family friendly, but I went there this past weekend. Terrific wine, as always. Patio weather was great. Only problem is I want to enjoy my $20 glass of wine with no screaming children by my table. Children should not be in a wine bar. Get a sitter.

Sauvignon Blanc? More like Sauvignon Bland. I had better wine when from Collin county pruning. I can’t call it if they need to burp the grapes more or if they need to taste it before ruining my wife and I having our one night out. You guys owe me the $150 I paid our sitter to come drink your swill. Do better.
If you wish to pay a corkage fee for out sourced wine you purchase on property the i guess it's ok. McKinney has a nice touristy historical downtown & plenty of wine options. In general there are very few Bordeaux blend (bold) options as most the wine is very fruit foward. I guess because Landon is decent sized & has a patio on the corner they feel as if it's ok to charge $15 extra to drink on property. It's no comparison to wine tasting in actual vineyards, it's more of a party atmosphere with huge profit margins. Look elsewhere in town if you're an actual wine fan.
I think this place has a certain clientele which works for them, and I think that’s great and wish them the best. But I have now been here three times and have yet to taste a decent wine. They’re either too sweet, not well-balanced, too dry, etc. We found the staff to be friendly enough and the environment was comfortable while waiting on a table at a nearby restaurant. It’s nothing fancy, but an alright spot to hang out for a little while. Bottom line, if you’re a wine connoisseur, I’d steer clear... this just isn’t that kind of place. But if you’re looking for a place to drink with friends that don’t really care, I think it fits the bill.
I'm torn rating this place because the food, wine and ambiance are wonderful. However, the establishment doesn't wait the tables. Given the high price point, this was surprising. I chose this location because I'm already familiar with the Denison location and it seemed like a good halfway point to meet friends. The Denison location waits their tables and buses the plates when the food is gone. Why the disparity?

I wish circumstance was different and I did not have to leave this review, but in light of recent events, it feels necessary. I have been a long-time customer of Landon's and have participated in Wine Wednesday there countless times. I used to live on the square so I would frequent the McKinney Location multiple times a week. My parents have also been long time wine club members but sadly, that is all now going to change. My Fiancé and I recently got engaged and upon deciding to host our wedding and all related festivities in Downtown McKinney, we were so excited at the idea of having our rehearsal dinner at Landon's. I followed all proper protocol to book our event and was even told by staff when we visited in person that our application for our requested date had been accepted and we were good to go. I tried to give my credit card to the employee and was told that it was not necessary to ensure our booking. I persisted just to make sure that everything truly was squared away and was told "we just got a new POS system so even if you gave me your credit card, I would not know how to use it" and was again assured that as long as I called the next week and submitted payment details, we would be fine. I then get a call from Rhonda not even two days later letting me know that our date had been given away and there was nothing that could be done and asked if we wanted to reschedule. Given that our wedding is the next day, obviously rescheduling is not an option. I had already spent HUNDREDS of dollars on invitations that included wedding weekend details (i.e. the rehearsal dinner), so not only do I know have to go through the stress and hassle of finding another location that can accommodate our party, I now get to pay HUNDREDS of more dollars to reprint wedding stationary. If I had been the one to drop the ball, I would not be leaving this review. However, I did everything within my ability to ensure we were taken care of and we were completely screwed over, hence this one-star review. I am a firm believer that where you spend your money matters, and due to this, Landon's has lost my business permanently. The only real loss to me is the location on the McKinney square as the wine is average (sometimes below), but there are now plenty of other places with a good patio and even better food selection. PSA, if you are going for the wine and not just the location, just know that you can import much better quality wine from places like Napa and enjoy it from a location that won't throw years of faithful business down the drain and add stress to an already stressful time of planning. If you looking for a place on the square to host a larger event such as a rehearsal dinner, I urge you to look for a place that will not give your date away and adequately trains employees. I truly am sad to leave this review and remove myself from the Landon's customer base, but I have too much respect for myself to continue to give money to a company that clearly does not value customers.
We have been club members for 3 years and have seen the service decline over the last few visits to McKinney. We also have purchased cases at Christmas season. My wife and I asked to taste the wines we were picking up. Server poured one minute tasting in a plastic cup. Had to ask for the 2nd PLASTIC cup. Very disappointed in the service and we are ready to cancel.
