Food tasted fresh and steaks well cooked to our order. Service a little slow but everyone was friendly to accomodate our large party of 9. Love the mason jars for drinks! Honey butter for the bread is yummy. Cobblers are small fyi but tasty!
Probably one of the best steakhouses in town that nobody knows about.
When we got Marissa we could tell she was new, my daughter sent her steak back cause it wasn't cooked right and our waitress was so extremely courteous, at the end she had us in tears laughing, we will never experience a moment like this with her. It was my birthday and she gave me the most memorable day. I will never forget this special day. Thank you so much!
They are more expensive than some, but the sirloin was perfectly done. It melted in my mouth. Best steak I have had in years. It was also very reasonably priced. The cobbler is a nice touch.
The wood booth was really tiny it looked like seating was moveable, but we couldn't squeeze in at the particular table they led us too! We opted for a small table instead, the hostess struggled to find a small table there was only one! Other than that everything was delicious and very enjoyable!
The food was fantastic & the staff very friendly.
Steak is always one of the best in Amarillo. It is a quiet reataurant and we like being able sit and have a conversation without having to yell over music or a bar crowd.
We just had to check this place out! And it didn't disappoint! The best steaks and loaded potatoes you can have. Excellent service. We had a delectable meal and enjoyed our lunch. We are definitely coming back! And I recommend y'all to try the Steak Salad!! DELICIOUS!
Always good food and amazing service. No matter what, best place to eat! Also, the cobbler, french kiss! 🤌🏻
We enjoyed some live music with our meal. We all had some form of steak, and it was allllll delicious 😋. We also enjoyed our complementary cobbler we took to go because we filled up on the good food.
First time and it was great! Chicken fried steak, tenderize and filled the plate. Our waitress Lindsey was fun and attentive. Loved the Christmas decorations, including the life sized Grinch. Understand Santa is visiting December 8! (kids meals on the menu.) We will be back!
The CFS was amazing! Just enough batter to fill my taste buds. This is definitely a staple of Amarillo!! Highly recommended.
I contacted Red River steakhouse on Wednesday to request seating for 50 people after a funeral on Saturday. Sabrina was very accommodating and they were ready for us when we arrived. The environment was perfect with all the cowboy motif, since we buried a cowboy. The food was good and the atmosphere was awesome. We did wait quite a while for our food but nobody was particularly upset about that since people were talking to people at different tables and moving around. When the food came, it was delicious. We are very thankful for allowing us a private section. Sabrina also was our server. Very friendly and hardworking.
We came with a group. The service was outstanding!! The portions were fantastic. The Thursday special was great. The catfish was crispy and the vegetables were fantastic. You even get a free cup of cobbler. Ice cream is extra. Lunch specials are a good value
Totally cool experience! Looking for a steak house with a true Texas atmosphere, this is it. There are lots of signs for tourist trap steakhouses, but this one is a hidden gem! Nostalgic interior and food was excellent. Also, country music!
I decided to treat myself with a delicious steak for my birthday, as I was spending the day by myself. The bartender, Jennifer, recognized it was my special occasion and went above and beyond by making a special request just for me. To my delight, three amazing individuals appeared, singing a lovely birthday song! Despite having a challenging day, Jennifer's caring gesture completely transformed my experience and made it infinitely better. I truly appreciate Jennifer for her remarkable qualities—her passion, genuine care for others, and unwavering integrity. Thank you, Jennifer, for making my birthday memorable!
I've eaten here before & it's a winner for sure! Today I placed a to go order, which was ready pretty quickly. The host was a young Hispanic kid, super nice & helpful & greeted me instantly. The atmosphere was super homey & nice, they still had Christmas decorations up and it was gorgeous. I ordered the catfish plate with the 3 shrimp & ocra as a side. The fish is amazing and it always is. I highly recommend. The shrimp are so huge and we're equally yummy. Sadly the ocra was a bit oil logged and didn't seem fresh, as there was no crisp to it. My salad also seemed like it had been prepared earlier in the day because the croutons were not crunchy and definitely not edible. Love this place, I've had the chicken fried steak from here as well and it's one of the best ones in town in my opinion. Will definitely continue to visit, next time I'll just make sure I get everything made fresh. Spent a little over 20 bucks and it was worth it, for the most part. Thanks red river.
My steak was cooked perfectly and we all had a great time!
03/28/2025 - The Welcome Pardner Breakfast, hosted by D.J. Stubben, is a wonderful monthly event. The Red River Steakhouse did a great job of hosting us. The food was very tasty, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, and the service was delightfully friendly. A wonderful experience, and I look forward to doing this again next month.
Saturday Night drop in was fast, clean, and food was cooked perfect! The red haired angel serving our table kept us hydrated and our tummies were full when we walked out with smiles on our faces!
We went to have a steak and was not disappointed! Great flavor and cooked perfectly
Such a Great experience!! I want to thank everyone there for amazing service great food and wonderful ambiance. Roberto the Grill Master was on point with all the meals that we ordered for 3 days. I can't thank him and the rest of the kitchen staff for excellent execution of the presentation of every delicious meal. Especially my Rock Star server AIANNA!💥💥💥💫💫💫 She was excellent, wonderful and amazing 👏. Always on time and I never had to worry about anything at all. Can't wait to come back.
Steakhouse with good service, delicious food, and fun steakhouse decor. We had a big group and a few orders were quickly fixed when they came out wrong, but everyone was very happy with their food and drinks. The server was very busy, as was the kitchen, but she came by often, answering any questions about the food, updating us on the progress of our order, and constantly refilling our drinks. The appetizer of cheese fries were so good they got devoured in no time. The texas toothpicks were okay (fried onion & jalapeno strips with ranch) and we ate those all pretty quickly too. My rib eye was pretty good and all the sides were decent as well (mashed potatoes, green beans, fries, etc). The green chile hominy that I got was amazing - not at all what I expected, but basically hominy covered in green chile flavored cheese - SO GOOD! The burgers are a good size and have a good flavor to them. The huge margaritas were decent and were quite large, as promised. The complementary peach cobbler was absolutely delicious too.
Amazing atmosphere Amazing food, wonderful dessert and our waitress. Joan was top chart she was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful meal. We will definitely be back!!!!!!!!
Great country home cooking!! We have alot of favorites here but to name a few...Grilled shrimp and catfish are dome if the best. This is my favorite fried okra in town because it is always cooked nice and crispy. Their sweet tea is the best especially since its served in great big Ole mason jars! And the best of all is their peach and plum cobbler. Yummy!
First time in Amarillo. Decided to try this place for lunch and it was delicious. The fries are fresh cut and the lunch portions were more than enough. Enjoyed the complimentary cobbler with my lunch meal.
Very Good steak had the new york strip.Joan was good waitress efficient and friendly... They have free cobbler, peach or cherry. It's very good and the tea is excellent as well
Great food friendly service wonderful atmosphere
Great Friday Evening Barbecue Special Joann was our server Friday evening. She provided attentive and considerate service and was very nice and helpful. We could not ask for better service. Barbecue special was served with ribs and sausage. Ribs were the best I have tasted in a while. Delicious. Great evening at Red River Steakhouse.
I had the small chicken tenders portion for dinner and it was still plenty to eat and absolutely delicious. The cherry cobbler was some of the best I've ever had! I definitely recommend Red River Steakhouse not only for the food but the excellent service as well.
The not so favorable reviews are for service issues. I didn't see any about the quality/taste of the food so I got some for myself. The food is good tasting and seasoned well! I got a NY strip with loaded mash and throughly enjoyed my meal. The hominy had a yeast smell/taste almost like beer was used to make it and I didn't each much of it. BUT that Cobbler will make your tongue smack your brain out. I would just buy a bowl of the crust if I could. I ordered via UberEats. It was well packed and hot when I received it. As a beverage there was an option for "bar drink" but selecting it didn't populate additional options so not sure what thats for. 9 out of 10. Great food!
My first time here coincided with Saturday Prime Rib Special Night and it did not disappoint. The food was great and the complimentary cobbler was a great way to end a fantastic meal. Returned on 10.12.2024 and got served by Joanie. The Chicken Fried Steak she recommended was AWESOME!!
Came here on a Wednesday night and it was not too packed at all. Our waitress was very friendly and kept our glasses topped and was quick to meet our needs. I ordered the 44 oz T-bone steak and I could barely finish it. The steak had great flavor and was spot on medium rare. My wife had the chicken fried steak which is not deep fried, try it, it's amazing and super tender, no knife required. They give free cobbler with every meal and I had the black raspberry and my wife had the apple. Beware its super delicious and you'll want more.
I am absolutely blown away by this place. Having traveled through Amarillo numerous times, I’ve never had a dining experience near as good as this. From the prime rib being amazingly flavorful and tender, to the most exceptional mashed potatoes I’ve ever eaten, to the free cobbler. Every thing about this restaurant impressed me and my family. The ambiance is perfect, the wait staff is extraordinary, and the gentlemen (I’m assuming the owner) going around asking everyone how their meal was and passing out treats to the kids just made you feel at home and that they appreciate you. I can honestly say I will be visiting every time I pass through and recommending to my friends who do the same! Thanks for the amazing food, service, and putting a special twist on a steakhouse to make it memorable for my family tonight! Great job!

I had center cut sirloin medium and it was delicious. The okra was tough and spiny. The loaded potato soup was delicious but a bit greasy. The peach cobbler was great. The bread was a sweet bread loaf and delicious. I gave the atmosphere a 3 star because I don't like TVs. To me they reduce the classiness.
The fried pickles were great and the cobbler was delicious. My strip was cooked medium rare as I ordered it, but it was a bit tough. I'll definitely go back and try the ribeye next time. My boyfriend had a chicken fried steak that was hand breaded and delicious. Their dinner salads were fresh and wonderful.
Nice place to enjoy a family evening dinner. Very comfortable atmosphere and pleasant dining experience. Definitely recommend!
Good steaks, cooked as ordered. I was a little disappointed this visit. The ribeye was a little bland. It didn't seem to have any seasoning at all. Usually when we dine here the steaks are perfect so maybe it was just an off night. The sides were as good as always. I was really looking forward to their peach cobbler but unfortunately they were out 😞but, all of the cobblers are delicious. You just have to get there earlier if you want variety because they go pretty quickly. An added bonus this visit was the man playing music and singing. He had a really good voice. I enjoyed listening to him while we were there. I hope they have him (or others) more often.
Super nice and attentive staff, very cute and hoy atmosphere, which we liked very much. One of our dinners was excellent, the other was overcooked, and unfortunately, they were out of desserts. I definitely go back again.
The food here is exceptional! It feels like you’re eating mom’s fantastic meals! I love it! That being said, I have yet to get exactly what I ordered which makes me sad, not mad or irritated just disappointed because this restaurant has the potential to be one of Amarillo’s best. Ive ordered the same order half a dozen times and not once has it been exactly what I ordered. I keep ordering here because the chopped steak and mashed potatoes they always get correct and it’s delicious. Everything else….is up in the air. You won’t get your salad this time. Most of the time you won’t get the toppings on your chopped steak. Even add on’s you pay for, like sausage 50/50 chance of getting it. I look forward to coming in to dine someday soon. I think it’s likely the orders are more correct in person? It’s definitely worth a try in my book….even if you don’t get what you order, it’s probably going to be outstanding!
Red River Steakhouse is a popular destination for steak lovers, boasting a solid 4.2 rating from over 1,400 reviews. Known for its mouthwatering, perfectly cooked steaks, this restaurant offers a hearty menu with various cuts of meat, from juicy ribeyes to tender filets, all grilled to perfection. The portions are generous, and the flavor is consistently praised by customers. The restaurant’s rustic atmosphere adds to the experience, providing a comfortable setting for both casual dinners and special occasions. While some guests have noted that service can be a bit slow during busy hours, the quality of the steaks and the overall dining experience makes it a worthwhile visit.

Regular customer, usually come in 1x week. Mainly on Wednesday for meatloaf. Not sure if there has been mgmt or cook changes in last month , but quality has not been good. Last 3x meatloaf not hot, sent back every time. Stayed away for few weeks. Came back today for catfish., great as always, but fries not hot and cobbler barely warm. Enjoy the service from girls, but starting to , reconsider my options.
Food and service is always great, but I cannot enjoy this place with how loud the live music can be. I had to leave yesterday without ordering because I couldn't even talk with the people I was with.
To the owner or manager, There is something wrong with the water there, and therefore any drinks that are made with the water. The water tastes like nothing but chemicals, and not just H2O. The Diet Dr. Pepper is terrible. Carbonation level was fine, but the taste was just awful. Totally inedible. It is difficult to enjoy a meal with nothing to drink. The food is great. Thank you for reading.
We can't come to RRSteak house because during to after lunch hour the piped in music is very loud with just a handful of people in the restaurant. We don't go on the weekends because the live music is so loud that sitting across the table from friends we can't even talk till they stop playing. Then we have to hurry up and say what we're saying till the music starts again. The music is way too loud to talk and enjoy visiting. So Monday -Wednesday at 4:30 pm is the only time we try to go but then the piped in music is still loud till we ask if they could please turn it down for a bit. We hurry to eat or take it home.sad!
Food was decent but way too expensive.
I loved the grill shrimp and Rattlesnake bites was told 9-20-2025 they no longer have the grilled shrimp. Out of Jalapeños for the Rattlesnake bites too. I have no idea why they would get rid of the Grilled Shrimp. I should have just left. I got the “ Red River Chicken” it wasn’t good either. So, won’t be coming now.
I had chicken fried steak and it was delicious. Our waitress was kind and quick and helpful. I left a 9.80 tip and somehow I was charged more. She deserved it but not a good way to do business. I won't go back. Next new spot......
Cute place. Staff was attentive. How do you run out of T- bone steaks by 530 pm on Valentines Day? My ribeye was overcooked, ordered med-rare... got medium. Hoffbrau 100x better.
We both got the chicken fry and one side. I asked for a salad because the menu said it came with it. The waitress said the menu change only one side…. I told her the menu said one side and a salad…. Uggg it came out 10 pieces of lettuce 4 mushroom slices. We had to ask for gravy for out chicken fry she gave us one we shared. Ok I know the cobbler is free but it was 2 tablespoons. I won’t go back
new to the area looking for the best steakhouse. we'll folks they dropped the ball ordered the 14 oz ribeye medium rare it was almost raw the meat was soft and grainy to the point it was chewy. and tough fat streaks throughout. big pieces of fat around the edges. those where actually the better part of the steak. the rest was of the food was better the salad was good and the appetizer texas toothpicks where good. our server she was excellent. but overall when your a steakhouse your steak needs to be on point and it wasn't.
@conniesreviews Place was recommended for their chicken fried steak. The food overall was just OK for me. Except for our initial encounter, I would say the service we received was very good. Our waiter was very sweet and friendly. She took great care of us. When we first arrived there was no one at the hostess desk and we waited for a while. We almost decided to leave and go someplace else because it was taking them so long to seat us. It was a Sat night, but after the dinner rush so it wasn't busy. There were only a few other people eating. Someone walked by and said someone will be right with you while we were waiting. It was still another while before someone finally showed up to seat us. The decor is super TX and very cute. My son loved the feel of the restaurant. I really appreciated the live music, it was great. The bandana touch for table napkins & large Mason jars for drinks is cute. On the food side of things, the fried pickles and cheese fries were good, the salad was fresh and I enjoyed the hominy green chili side, very yummy. I read reviews of the pickles being too salty, but we didn't have that experience. Also, I mean, they're pickles, so um, yeah, they're salty, kinda a given. My son enjoyed his patty melt and my husband said his steak was good but a bit more on the well-done side instead of medium. We all got our food, but my son's fried pork chops didn't come out until a bit later in the meal. Our waitress told us "sorry, we have a new cook and he doesn't listen." 🤔 ummm ok. I had the chicken fried steak, it was cooked well but flavorless. It was very easy to taste that the flour batter just wasn't seasoned. There is salt and pepper at the table, but it had zero flavor alone. A flavorless piece of meat fried in flavorless batter. My daughters chicken tenders and my sons pork chops also tasted like they were fried in the same batter and therefore also flavorless. Neither one finished their meal since it tasted like nothing. The baked potato was delicious. The cobbler was also yummy. My potato salad was very sweet so I didn't eat it. Personal preference, I don't like sweet potato salad, but someone else might. As mentioned, all of the fried items were cooked well, the meat inside was tender and the fry on it was nice and crispy, but since it tasted like nothing, it just wasn't palatable for us. The gravy was just ok, I've had better. Everyone liked the fries and loved the onion rings. Also, a storm blew through while we were there and water started dripping from the roof onto the table next to ours and started splashing on my daughter. They might want to look into getting that fixed. It was at the end of our meal and had just finished paying our check so we didn't ask to be moved. Overall, we probably won't be back and we wouldn't highly recommend it, it was just ok. If you're just going for bar drinks and to listen to some live music, this is a good spot.
Baked potato tasted like it set under the warmer all day. Cobbler soggy. Green beans cold . Steak about as big as a quarter. Too expensive for Ugg food .!

Service was good....very attentive. However, food at best was....meh. wife and I both had the meat loaf special. Meat loaf was dominated by the BBQ sauce, the mashed potatoes were instant, the green beans over-peppered to the point of being inedible, and the hominy with green chilli cold. The free cobblers are pure sugar. Not a good meal.
Called order in, and they said 20 minutes. Got there 20 minutes later, and they forgot to cook 1/2 of my order. Not to mention when I got there the young man (child) had to text someone before he checked me out. Then I got home, no each dressing, no cobbler and no bread. When I called the manager she was super nice, and my dressing was waiting for me when I arrived back to the restaurant. I didn’t even mention the cobbler or the bread to manager. It’s sad the kind of service we get these days for the prices we pay. At the end of the day, the manager was super nice and apologized. Just make sure you check you order before you leave the restaurant.
I placed my order to go and was sent a message saying it would be ready to pick up at 4:32. I walked in the door at 4:32 and waited by the front counter for close to 10 minutes as a line formed behind me of other customers. Finally someone saw me and brought my food from the back. It was a large sack with two Styrofoam to go containers. When I opened them at the house I realized they had not included my baked potato and the chicken fried steak was on the small side and room temperature. I suppose my long wait at the front was to blame for that. I ate the steak and the cobbler but it was not much of a meal without the potato. I've tried to contact them with the two numbers that were made available to me. My messages were unanswered. all in all it was a disappointing experience.
We had a large party and ate in a private area at the front of the restaurant. There was a separate heater for our room. I guess that the heater’s thermostat wasn’t working so our waitress had to control the heater herself. It was either really hot or it was really cold. Sabrina our waitress was really good. We had a pretty long wait time before we got our food. Sometimes that happens with a large party. I ordered the large ribeye. It was cut pretty thin for the weight of The steak. It had a lot of grizzle! Probably the worst large ribeye that I have ever had. Band playing was okay. I heard them before there. The music got old pretty fast this time. Overall great waitress and everything else bad.
I made a pick up order at 6, I was told it would be 10-15 minutes. Just in case, I came at 6:30 to pick up. I waited for 30 minutes for just a grilled chicken salad. I love the food here, but never again. 45 minutes over the time yall told me it would be ready?? Absolutely ridiculous.
The 2 young hostess were not hospitable. We said hello and neither said hello, welcome or anything. Sat us down, we said thank you, not one you're welcome. The waitress was nice, but took her awhile to come back and check on us. The food was not appealing, the chicken fried steak was flat and more batter than meat, the salad was mostly white parts, the rattlesnack bites (jalapeño poppers), now they were great! The frozen Margarita was to solid, couldn't stir it, I had to ask for a shot to pour in it so I could stir it and drink it, the fries were great! As we were leaving we said thank you have a good night to the hostess and we got no reply. We spent a little over $125.00. I wanted to try something different for my birthday and sadly, I wasn't impressed.
I was not impressed. They are overpriced and you do not get your moneys worth. Also I ordered a ribeye and it was a sirloin at a rib eye priced. I ordered it medium rare but it came out medium well. The fried okra was really burnt and crunchy. The server was sweet and attentive. I would not recommend coming here and won’t be back again. It was an evening at dinner time and there were not a lot of people there. The free cobbler is not worth it either.
We came as a group and from the beginning the waitress was rude. We had 11 in our party and made a reservation 2 weeks before hand. So acted like it was a burden to wait on us. The food wasn’t that great which was a whole disappointment as most of us never been. When the waitress brought us our tickets she just threw them on the table and got an attitude saying “this is just a big confusing mess”. Not quite sure how it was confusing as she had receipts and everyone’s money. I’d like to think I’d try it again but if service is like this I’ll skip it the next time. The waitress was Leza. Upon talking to other people this same waitress had attitudes with them also.
Went on WRCA weekend hoping to try an affordable steak. Both ordered the Prime Rib specials, the only things we could compliment were the blue cheese crumbles on my salad and the mashed potatoes. The prime rib tasted like an Easter honey ham that had been under a “warmer” for 8 hours. It didn’t even look appetizing. We stomached as much as we could of the $40 plate but were highly disappointed. The Okra was a touch over fried, the margarita could have arguably been virgin, and bless our waitresses heart she just had too much going. I think you’d get a better steak at Texas Roadhouse
Ordered to be delivered. The bake potato was not cooked all the way basically had to put in the microwave it to be able to eat it. The okra was burned. I did not receive my salad at all. They need to do better!

No prime rib on prime rib night. So we ordered steaks and catfish. All three steaks were over cooked and tough. The catfish was horrible and made my friend sick later. Service was fair at best. One of the worst meals I’ve ever had in Amarillo. I would rather eat an Allsups burrito than go back to Red River.
Came at 7:20pm on Friday night and the restaurant is closed and locked with the open sign on.
Arrived at 1:10pm and left at 2:30 without receiving our food. The waitress was inattentive. At one point she sat our drinks down and walked off. We had to grab our drinks off the serving tray. She then took our order and we didn't see her again until after 45 min we went up and asked her what the status of our food was. Apparently there was a problem when she was entering our order into the Point of Sale system. The lack of communication and accountability was incredibly frustrating.
*One star, because after dinner last night, I have been sick in bed all day with food poisoning. First, it needs to be said that our server was perfect. The food at dinner last night was OLD. Everybody knows what food tastes like after it’s been sitting under a heat lamp for hours and hours. We arrived just after 7pm and, as far as we could tell, were the only patrons in the restaurant. There was ONE car in the parking lot when we pulled in. Our complimentary bread tasted absolutely rancid, so the oil used to make it had most likely been pretty bad. My husband and I each had one small piece and neither of us finished our piece. My husband ordered the prime rib sandwich with a side of fries. The “prime rib” on his sandwich was like thick slices of leather; tough, and dark brown. Had he not eaten all day, he wouldn’t have eaten any more than the first bite. His fries were so old they had begun to shrivel and dry up. They looked to have probably been over cooked when they were still fresh, which they certainly weren’t by the time they landed on his plate. I ordered the chicken fried steak with white gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. usually, here in Texas, it’s hard to go really wrong with that particular dinner. I’ve ordered the same more times than I could even count. I ate the mashed potatoes and gravy. I ate less than half of my shoe-leather-tough chicken fried steak - which was inexplicably on top of the gravy instead of beneath it - before my jaw literally began to ache from chewing it. I gave up. But the problem, I think, aside from the rancid jalapeño bread, were the green beans. They were quite literally floating in grease. I presumed it to be bacon grease, because it was thick and nearly viscous, the way bacon grease becomes when it’s no longer hot. The green beans seemed older than anything else on my plate; the beans themselves had become soft and lfloppy, and tasted like they were about 3-4 days old. When our wonderful server came to ask if we were done, then asked if everything was okay, we were honest with her about just how okay everything was *not*. She was horrified. As we were telling her, as politely as possible, her eyes grew more huge and at one point her jaw literally dropped open. She was very apologetic, but we reassured her it was not her fault, nor did we need an apology from her. However, it would have been nice if we’d been offered at least half off our nearly $55 dinner bill, but we weren’t. It was a very expensive meal, even if it had been good, or at least edible. We took it as a lesson and will not ever be going back. And now I’ve been sick for more than 12 hours.
I ordered delivery last night from here based on previous reviews. I ordered a steak medium and it arrived overly well done. So over done, half of the steak was inedible. The fries were drenched in grease and the onion rings were similiar to the shape and size of a glazed donut. Upon arriving they were soggy and inedible due to the amount of batter. My husband ordered the patty melt, which was underwhelming to say the least. It came with meat, cheese and grilled onions, no sauce. This was our first and last time here. I would expect better since the prices are pretty expensive.
A big NO with this place. A one star is being extremely nice. My husband and I and another couple went there on prime rib night. We ordered two different whiskey drinks. When she brought our drinks out I specifically asked if they had prime rib and she said yes. We all ordered and told her we would have another round of drinks. She brought our salad out and told us no prime rib. The chef forgot to order it. 3 of us ordered steaks and one catfish. Then another waitress came over and said they were out of both whiskeys. Steaks too tough to eat and the catfish was mushy. Horrible experience! Will never eat there again. McDonalds would have been much cheaper and better than this place.
The bread they served tasted funny to me! The meal wasn’t much better! About the only thing really worth eating was the dessert. The service was not good! Needless to say I will not go back!
My chicken fried steak was not done the baked potato was hard and cold, the gravy was amazing, they took the potato back to heat it in the microwave, yes the plate got extremely hot(any home cook knows to check the product Not the plate)the potato came back with more butter & cheese that wouldn’t melt!!! I received my appetizer (Texas toothpicks) after my meal arrived!!!! My one friend just RAVED about the absolutely wonderful chicken fried steak, it was SO BIG and TENDER, (made my mouth water) while another friend warned me to go ANYWHERE else!!! I HAD to try that “WONDERFUL” chicken fried steak!! Well.......sad to say, I should have went ANYWHERE else!!! So I ordered that chicken fried steak, baked potato & salad, I also ordered Texas Toothpicks as an appetizer.. so my salad was to the table right away, I’m thinking “amazing” then my chicken fried steak, I asked the waitress if I had indeed ordered the appetizer, she said yes & she’d go see about them! the steak was a little bigger than a hamburger patty, you can see the goo in the middle of the steak
Our server did a good job of taking our orders, but not verifying the orders when they were ready and who they went to. There was no notice of possible food allergies and I had to send food back, twice, because of mushroom allergy - anaphalactic occurrance, life-threatening. Also, the server said they couldn't offer some items due to cross-contamination. One in our party had steak that was overcooked, instead of being medium. Another in our party had a plate with all the wrong sides. Plus he got his plate last after the rest of us were halfway done. We do not plan on ever going back to this establishment.
I liked nothing about my experience here. The chicken fried steak was thin and tough. I brought it home and fed to my dogs that got sick in the middle of the night after eating it. It was my mom's birthday. Her food got her a night on the toilet after eating the meatloaf. Won't go back ... will tell everyone to stay far away from there. We spent 60.00 on the 2 of us and it was m9ney spent badly.should have known by the empty parking lot to Not eat there.
September 26 2025. We arrived at 6:30 and was walked to our table. I could see that our waitress was running like crazy by herself. Some young man brought bread after about 5 min he set it on the table and never said a word. Waitress stoped by and asked about beverage. 15 min later we got water. 20 min later she takes order. 25 min later food showes up. My wife tries to cut the filet mignon with the knife, she was cuting so hard the fork bent trying to hold it in place. We called the waitress over and she was saying the knifes are so dull they wont cut. The waitress stood there as she continued to saw through the meat. After finally cutting a piece i said try it to see how it taste, she had to literally spit it out in a napkin. Big piece of chewey fat in the meat. Meanwhile I was trying to eat my salad while fighting a fly which landed in my dressing. The waitress apologized for the meat. She was so dissapointed in the meat she reorderd and not the meat she orderd the fish. How long is this going to take? I started to cut my ribeye steak which had a nice flavor but had so much grizzle and fat that only half was edible, I didnt even bother to let her know about that. At the end the waitress offered the cobbler so i ordered the peach and my wife ordered cherry. I hate to say but the cobbler was so dry it just was bad! sorry. if the owners are loosing business for no return customers you need to go in this Amarillo location and eat this mess because i will never return!
