We have been to several Saltgrass restaurants in other towns/cities, but this was easily the best. The ribeye was clearly grilled by someone who wasn’t there just to punch in a time clock, it was obvious they took pride in crafting a perfect medium rare steak with a perfect sear. Service was also great. Seated immediately at 5:45p on a Friday.

Waited for half an hour for a table after an 8 hour drive. Chose to end the night with a great meal and was not disappointing. Service was great! Food was amazing! Only downside was the outside of the restaurant smelled like manure which wasn't great but out of the restaurant's control.

It's a great place overall. Gotten the cajun 12 Oz ribeye and I love the stake.... but the shrimp that come with it was a little over cooked.

It is always a pleasure to dine here. I wish they would expand West.

Go here for happy hour & stay for the excellent food and company! Will and Kelvin will are you very welcome. We chanced on this exceptional eatery when we were passing through Amarillo on a Texas/New Mexico road trip. It was so good the first time we returned for a repeat visit. The happy hour from 3-7 offered some extensive options. The meals were exquisite. The bar tenders were attentive and service second to none.

This is the 2nd time I've eaten here, and both times it was the best steak/meal I've had! The steak was flavorful and juicy, the smoked mac and cheese creamy and I had the Oscar add on for the steak - very good! I'm from Ohio, and stopped for the 1st time last Sept, and I've kicked myself for not stopping here the 10 times I've come through Amarillo before that! Definitely worth the stop!

We stopped by for a late dinner on a Thursday night and were served immediately. Our waitress was amazing and super friendly - loved her! We split a meal with a salad and they offered to bring it out pre-split on separate plates, which we declined (more romantic to share a plate). The side salad was just right and our meal was delicious!! We ordered beef tenderloin with sautéed veggies and rice with grilled salmon and green beans. Everything was perfect! (I wasn't crazy about the bread, but it was free, so no complaints.)

Service was amazing. Drink order was taken as soon as we sat down. Bread delivered with drinks. Server was on top of everything! We split a meal because we are traveling and these steaks are huge! We ordered Urban Cowboy with baked potato and salad with extra salad.Perfect meal to split! Manager came by and made sure it was made to our liking, Server checked back multiple time to see if we were good. Overall 100% awesome experience!

I had a tender juicy ribeye here. Great waitresses and drinks with a fantastic steak dinner made this restaurant well worth stopping in for dinner. We will definitely come back again next time through.

We were so pleased with our first visit...we decided to go again before our week stay ended in Amarillo, Tx. DELICIOUS, clean, quick service even though crowded, super polite servers and the two managers present insured everyone's comfort.

Tirene always does an amazing job at the bar. It is a joy when I walk in and she is at the bar. The ribeye is always great and very consistent. I used to go to Outback but their steaks have decreased in quality (in my opinion) but Salt Grass NEVER disappoints. Great food and great service.

We enjoyed our time there. The steaks were good, and service was great. The sampler platter was recommended by our waiter and was the perfect size for our group of six.

The woman women working the front desk at the hampton inn at 1900hrs on 11 Sept told me to eat here.... let's see how it went!!! I was a single, the hostesses greeted me promptly, I asked to sit at the bar, they said seats were open... off I went! I sat at a pretty busy bar, restaurant seemed busy as well. 2 folks working behind the bar, a dude and a young woman... both were busy, but seemed to jave everything under control... aftwr a very short wait the dude, whom I learned was Tripp, greeted me, took my drink order, asked if I needed any help or had questions with the menu and I didnt. Tripp took my order, he was wicked friendly, taking care of me and several other customers... this dude was paying attention to business. My food came out very fast- ribs, shrimp baked potato... absolutely incredible!!! I was very very impressed... my friend Tripp checked on me a few times and I didnt want or need anything. Service, food, perfect! I didn't mention the young lady because I had no interaction with her, but she was on fire.. service bar, taking care of customers at the bar... these 2 worked well together and definitely k ow what they are doing. Let's discuss Tripp for a minute.... managers beware!!! This kid is going to take all of our jobs if we aren't careful... I watched his interaction with several guests and this cat has it together!!!! And again, not to slight the young lady, she is exactly the same.. true workers!!! I was not expecting this level of service and food tbis evening, but I am not complaining!!! Expectations were greatly exceeded. Thank you my friends, I hope the GM or regional manager sees this and recognizes these two folks asap!!!

First time having a steak in Texas. This restaurant REPRESENTED. The NY Strip with shrimp left nothing to be desired and the prices are very fair. I've had $100 steaks before across the country and I would take this one over theirs everyday. Staff was quick and kind. If your just passing thru (like me) do yourself a favor and stop here!

Not really much to gripe about, the Prime Rib was ok but the New York Strip is a 5 Star rating. The servers were awesome and handled me appropriately. They were on point and very polite. I did give one of the girls a little bit of a hard time over the prime rib. She handled it perfectly. Kylie was our primary server and we didn’t have to wait on anything. BRAVO!!

The rush was crazy mad at this location. The staff handled it with a smile and was able to get people in and out very quickly. The Managers are outstanding, they jump in and help as if they are just a member of the crew. I love the way the Manager Kevin address every problem. Always being pleasant with what can I do to help or just saying please or just a simple thank you. Will becoming back to this location. If I could give it a 10 star I would. Thanks for making this Valentines days special for the Queen and I.

My granddaughter loves this restaurant because of the horse out front, and we love it because of the food. She got the steak bites, my son the sirloin, my DIL the cheeseburger, and I got the sirloin with (grilled) shrimp. He got the salad and I got the soup-loaded baked potato. The soup was super thick and very bacon-y without being greasy. Our steaks were cooked perfectly for our taste - mid rare. I enjoyed the sweet potato fries. I’m not used to them being shoestring style, but that didn’t detract from the flavor. We’re just passing through, but we’ll stop and visit again.

Saltgrass exceeded our expectations. I didn't plan on going to this steamhouse but I am so glad we went here. After leaving another "famous" steakhouse severly disappointed on my birthday, I ended up at Saltgrass. The service, the food, and the atmosphere were out of this world. I had the best prime rib and carrot cake of my life. Out drinks were nevwr empty and the staff was very informative, friendly and attentive. If you go to Amarillo skip the tourist trap and go here instead. You will not be disappointed. It is worth every penny.

My only complaint is that drinks came AFTER the food started coming. I'm a strong believer that they should come BEFORE any food comes. But, food came quickly. Traveling through Amarillo and googled steakhouse. Chose Saltgrass because of the reviews. They do not lie! This place was amazing. A 20-30 minute on a Saturday night was worth it. My husband had the Ribeye special and I had the Maudeens filet. Both were cooked perfectly medium, and were very delicious, melt in your mouth perfection. Their house made ranch dressing was also very good as well as the queso with brisket appetizer. The staff is very friendly and all work together to keep things moving efficiently. Andre, our waiter tonight was really great!

Our server today, Lizette, went above and beyond! From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with such warmth and energy. She took the time to recommend several dishes, pointing out new menu items that had just been added and describing them in a way that made it sound very good! You could tell she really knew the menu and cared about our experience. Throughout our meal, Lizette made sure our drinks never ran empty, pre-bussed our table with perfect timing, and checked in just enough to make sure everything was perfect without ever feeling intrusive. She made sure our food was exactly how we wanted it and that we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our meal. You can tell when someone truly enjoys what they do, and Lizette absolutely does. She turned an ordinary dinner into such an enjoyable experience definitely one of the best servers we’ve ever had! Really recommend her as anyones server when eating at saltgrass !!

We really enjoyed our dinner here. We were road-weary and needed a break from a long trip across the country. Decided to try it out. So glad we did but wish we lived closer so that we could return frequently! We had the ribs as an appetizer- they were kind to let us pick our own app! Also had ribeye and filet and both were delicious! Cheesecake to top it off was perfect! This is a scratch kitchen and we highly recommend it! Saltgrass is a very good steakhouse. As far as fanciness level goes it's more fancy than Texas Roadhouse but not as fancy as a five Star steakhouse. I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries they were really thin and not the big puffy kind. Plan to spend about $50 to $70 for two people. I'm only putting a 4-star because the bathroom hot water was scalding hot and I think I burned my hand and maybe they will see this and adjust that temperature.

Ordered rib eye, medium rare. Dlvd a bit under cooked, they picked it right up and got a new just as it should be. Our server, Leslie did a great job. Try the carrot cake. It is enormous and tastes fantastic.

Ate here on 1/23/2023. Staff was friendly and service was quick. I couldn't bring myself to pay $30 for a NY Strip so, I had a hamburger. Excellent food. I've had steaks at this chain in the past and they are very good. Only gave 4 out of 5 stars because the frozen margarita, which was very good, was frozen from top to bottom. Ended up eating it with a spoon. I'll would gladly return to this restaurant.

The ribs were soft but the rub used is too strong and I just didn't like the taste, it was just over spiced. The salads were nice, so was the potato soup, and the steak was perfect. All in all pretty good but bit on the expensive side. And I really didn't like the taste of the ribs. I would have given 3 stars but the staff were excellent which bumps the rating to 4.

Although this is a chain restaurant, the service we experienced at this one made it really stand out. Even with a packed restaurant our server was attentive and personable. The food was also good. The flavours were on point and the steaks were cooked to near perfection. The T-Bone could have been left to rest for a bit longer but beyond that it was good. The food came quickly and it was priced well for what we got. Loved the margarita!

I definitely have to say... That if you don't have to do take out...Don't! The last time I had eaten at Saltgrass Steak House was several years ago, The staff was Amazing and just being able to enjoy the atmosphere, along with whomever you are out enjoying your time with; or if it's just out enjoying yourself! On October 27, 2022 I happened to order take out, as life sometimes seems to be a Rush! The Steak and salad was delicious! The baked potato was not fully done, but hey, it was still able to be eaten, after I cooked it longer. Overall, the atmosphere is awesome, there is a bar, if you rather sit at; as well you can sit out on the patio. Your choice, just enjoy. Blessings⚓️

Great food options! Soup was cold and late when we got it, so that was the only thing. Other than that, the Gulf Coast Steak and shrimp was pretty good, sweet potato fries and the mushrooms for appetizers were really good. I really like their bread too!

We were new to this restaurant. I had a chicken sandwich with onions and cheese on it. It was very large and not at all dry. . I had roasted brussel sprouts with balsamic on the side and they were fantastic. I would eat there again.

After a long drive, we were looking for a place close to our hotel that served steak. We were lucky to get a table right away since we were early. The place quickly got crowded and the wait to get our drinks were a bit too long. We started off with cheese briskett which were very good and tastefull. As a main we took the New York Strip (12oz) with baked potato and french fries. We liked the starter better than the main and did probably expect more of the steak. Staff was great and very friendly which saves 4 stars. I recommend this place.

We shared a New York Strip steak for $27.99. It came with salad and a baked potato. We ordered the steak medium rare but, in parts, it was rare. The salad had parts that were spoiled. Service was OK. Total bill with lemonade and without tip was 32.78.

In my experience this place is no more than a three-star restaurant, the atmosphere was good but the service and the food was nothing to brag about. We did have a 10 person group but some of our food was cold and the stake wasn't as Good as the advertised it. And you would think for $25 a plate you would be full but that was not the case.

I've always been partial to Saltgrass, which has always been one of my favorite places to dine. Usually, the overall experience delivers, above and beyond my expectations. However, this location is sadly inconsistent. I dont know if it's a failure in training or the unfortunate reliance on technology. We ordered an appetizer, which should have come out before our salads, but it didn't. Our server didn't check on it until I asked her about it after the main course was delivered. She went to inquire and came back to explain that the kitchen had lost a bunch of tickets. We were then asked if we still wanted it, to which we said no. Our meals were delivered. Shortly afterward, one of the managers comes to our table, offers an apology, and asks if we would like the appetizer to go. You know, we can enjoy it as a midnight snack, which was his suggestion. We ended up taking the appetizer to go, which won't be the same when it gets reheated in the microwave. Am I being ridiculous? Maybe, but when you're paying a significant amount for an evening out and celebration dinner, you expect the food and service to be up to par. I didn't expect to get anything free, but for their failure, the appetizer should have, at minimum, been discounted. I'm disappointed in the lack of follow through and customer service. This isn't the first time we've had a poor experience at this Saltgrass. 😕

I must have received a new waiter. Did not know items on menu then guessed at what we wanted. On the website it shows different plates than what is served at restauraunt. I asked waiter if they carried Prime Rib to which he replied yes. When food arrived was wrong. Instead of immediately correcting it took about 20 minutes for him to return to reorder the correct plate. Then sat there while wife finished her meal and my plate was still not delivered told him to cancel my meal and give me my ticket took another 20 minutes of waiter running around and then returned to table and asked if I was ready for my ticket. I said yes then took an additional 10 minutes for manager to arrive to table with ticket I explained my frustrations and the manager addressed my complaints and took all of my part of meal off and offered to take care of a new plate for me. I declined because my wife was finished. All in all everyone's plates around me looked good to bad I did not get to taste it. May be a good place to eat but my experience there was less than wonderful

I know we had a large group, but took awhile to get a table when we called in. The steak is has wasn't cooked very well. Just could have been much better from food to service for what we paid for

A bit disappointed in this place, it could have been much better. Service was friendly and well meaning but definitely missed the mark. Had to ask about drinks and courses a few times. Food was ok, the ribs were a little dry and the salads were pretty anemic. Serving sizes skewed small.

Steakhouses are surprisingly good places to eat plant based, provided they have a few sides made without cheese or butter. I was driving cross-country and stayed at a hotel around the corner from this steakhouse, so I ordered a few dairy-free sides. The steamed broccoli was cooked well, and I put them on a plain baked potato. I was excited they had Brussels sprouts, but they were SWIMMING in oil. I was able to eat the half sitting on top, but the ones on the bottom of the bowl were too saturated in oil to eat. Unfortunate.

This place is very expensive. Was seated right away. The waitress was ok. She took our order then brought our food she never came back to see how our food was. We order a bone in ribeye med/ med well it came back very well done. The next time we saw her is when she brought over the check. Needless to say we will not be back

We have been here a few times and for the most part it has been good. We just came in on a Friday Anderson the Amarillo room and the fireplace was cozy. Luckily we were finishing up as a large group was set next to us. The food was okay but steak cooked too much for medium. To not be wasteful, we do not send back. The rest of the food was as tasty. Service was okay but I think towards the end she became more concerned about the large group but she was nice. All in all 3 out of 5 based on cost to taste ratio.

salad was shy of dressing and had to ask wait staff twice for lemon and refills. Service was a little below average but meal was great.

If you like spending $100 for 2 meals that one person could eat, then this is your place!! Over priced for sure!!! We had a gift card, only reason we came in. I won't spend my money here, when I can go to the grocery store and get better cut of meat for way less money.

I dine at Landrys restaurants quite often. I live in Houston and I like to support Houston based companies. I have been on vacation and I thought that it would be nice to treat my mom and niece to dinner. Saltgrass was located close to our hotel in Amarillo and I thought...Great...we can have a good meal. My mother is handicapped and we parked in handicapped parking with no problem. It did seem weird to me that handicapped parking was on the opposite side of the restaurant from the handicapped ramp. No biggie. We were seated at a booth in the very back of the restaurant. Nice and quiet. Our waitress was bubbly and sweet and seemed like she was excited for us to be there. We ordered 3 waters and a 9 ounce glass of cabernet. She brought our waters and took our order. I cannot stress how impressed we were with her attitude and demeanor. A different server delivered my glass of wine and I told her that I was supposed to have the large pour and I was told that was the large pour. As I said, I eat at Landrys restaurants quite often and I knew that she was not being truthful. I then asked our waitress for 2 more glasses of wine. One large pour and one standard. She did not hear my interaction with the server that delivered my wine. When the other 2 glasses were delivered it was As I thought. My glass was indeed the smaller pour. Again not a big deal si ce the waitress doesn't pour the wine. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. My niece is vegan and ordered macaroni, asparagus, and green beans. I ordered the 6 ounce filet and fried shrimp medium rare plus with a house salad add boiled egg with thousand island dressing. My mother is handicapped and is not able to eat large portions. The waitress was so sweet and recommended the child's steak for her. We sat at the table for some time and it seemed like the staff forgot we were there. All of a sudden our waitress popped up and apologized. She said that the kitchen made the wrong g appetizer for our table and it would be awhile. We asked how they could make the wrong appetizer and we said to just cancel it because we didn't want it to arrive at the same time as our food. A different waitress came out about 5 minutes later with our appetizer and we asked why she brought an appetizer that we cancelled. Again, no biggie deal. Of course, our food arrived immediately after. There is a reason that an appetizer is called an appetizer. It's not supposed to be the main course. My mother's meal came out perfect. My niece's asparagus and beans were perfect; however, they forgot to bring her macaroni and we asked them to remember to bring it. My shrimp were perfect. My steak was barely medium rare. It was basically moving at me and it was a very sad cut. I put the steak on my bread plate and asked the food runner to take the steak back. I told the food runner that was not what o ordered. After 20 minutes, still no steak and still no macaroni and cheese for my niece. I overlooked being lied to about my wine, I overlooked the handicapped parking on the opposite side of the restaurant from the handicapped ramp. I overlooked the appetizer issue. When my steak never came and the macaroni and cheese was still missing i asked to speak to the manager. He assured me that he would get my items. As promised the macaroni and cheese came right out and he brought my steak. It was obviously the same steak that was sent back 30 minutes before. They didn't even bother to finish cooking it. I would have been fine with it being cooked to the temperature that I ordered it. I cut into the steak and asked the manger if it was cooked properly. He had to say that it was definitely rare and not medium rare plus. I was promised a new steak that never came. I paid the bill using my golden nugget player card and left without ever getting my steak. I did ask them to run my debit card to leave a tip. If I had received my steak, I was still planning to leave a 20% tip. After the steak never arrived, I left 1 cent and "Still waiting for steak"

Well we have been driving by this restaurant for awhile always wanted to stop by and finally we did it was a Saturday night wasn't to much of a wait he got a steak w/ bake potato and a veggie the steak was small like a pork chop and it was expensive it was about a $30.00 dollar below the Porter house on menu it wasn't worth it finally got to eat there very disappointment and our bill was $128.00 we probably won't be back cost to much and food wasn't worth the price should of got our money back only thing was great was the sweet tea so people Don't Waist Your Money!!!!!!

Went to the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. A nice crowd but far from full or busy. The hostess set us in the most awkward and uncomfortable table in the place! There was a restaurant full of comfortable tables, like tons of sweet places to enjoy lunch. It was disrespectful and judgmental! We could have went to any restaurant in town but chose to eat there. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and came back out and went to the hostess area and told her to move us as the table was not to my liking on a lovely Saturday afternoon. She was rude and childish and it set the tone for the rest of the meal. When you have folks walking into your door treat them well and make them comfortable and welcome! I felt age discrimination as the next couple they set in the crap spot was an elderly couple and they looked awkward and uncomfortable as well.

In all fairness, I did go at a pretty busy time but the staff was Running like the chickens with their heads cut off. They didn't offer any bread or appetizers. I had a steak. I asked for medium-rare. It looked more like well done. Also, it was a lot smaller than what a 10 oz should look like. Then, I had the chocolate cake for dessert, which was very generic. All in all, it is a steakhouse with a pretty environment.But the food and the staff do not match the price that you pay.

The service at Saltgrass Steak House in Amarillo was wonderful—our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the level of service. My green beans were cold, and overall the meal was a bit subpar for what I expected. I appreciate the great service and hope the food quality improves.

Busy and no attention to detail. We sat in a booth where the table was clean, but food left on the seat. Our waiters was kind and attentive. I ordered a drink, and the wrong champagne was brought out with a dirty glass. I asked for a new glass, and after poured it, I realized it was wrong. They have it to me for the price i ordered. Our steak and broccoli came out cold. They remade it. The manager came over and apologized and offered us a dessert. We are not eating dessert, so we declined. Nothing else was offered and we were forgotten about since it was rodeo weekend. Disappointed since the ratings were good. The food was decent once we got it, but nothing was spectacular.

Slow service. Charges 3.50 for a soda water, and charged for refills. Absurd, I've never heard of that before. Changed my side of fries to a side salad- added 5 dollars in fees for a house side …

Horrible,the food took an HOUR and the same with seating almost TWO HOURS for drinks it was worse than McDonald's never again.

We ate at salt grass Amarillo last night. The steak was awful tough and almost inedible. The shrimp was cold and tough. A big disappointment.

Visited on a busy Friday evening, 30 degrees outside and the air conditioning was on full blast inside. That should have been my clue to leave then. As a restaurant owner myself, I’ll never understand allowing the paying customers to be uncomfortable in order to allow the staff who are moving around and too hot to control the thermostat. We ordered & waited over an hour for our food, the steaks for our group were all undercooked from what was ordered, they were sent back to the kitchen, again we waited. By this time the special occasion we’d gone in to celebrate was clouded by disappointment, and we were so cold it was hard to enjoy anything even if the food had been more than just so-so. I totally understand being short staffed, but there are other ways to handle that than sending out sub par plates. *Our server Caleb was awesome, very embarrassed, apologetic & even offered us free dessert. Thanks for being the best part of our saltgrass experience!

We have always liked SaltGrass but just had the worst experience! Start with a cocktail that had basically no whiskey…my buddies steak was filled with gristle….my wife didn’t receive her dinner until everyone else was finished with their meal even after asking the server for it….manager came out and made a half-assed effort by saying I’ll take care of it (no apology no sincerity)…charge was removed but $12 worth of sides still on the bill…next adjustment actually increased the price on the bill….left with a bad taste in our mouth both literally and figuratively

Overall experience from the beginning to the end was not good. We were seated at a table not so clean with napkins on the floor from the previous customers, the table next to us was not cleaned almost until we were done. This place was not even busy, may be less than half full. We were not even served with the initial butter and bread. Kid’s mac and cheese was cold and tasted like microwave mac&cheese. This whole palace was not run very well and it felt like management issue with lots of employees running around but doing nothing.
