My work colleagues and I stopped by this little gem while we were stuck away from home on a work trip. It was phenomenal! I have never had fried pork ribs, but omg! Their signature drinks were amazing, too!

Awesome place. The guys behind the bar were friendly and were very knowledgeable and attentive. I Got the Chicken Corn Soup, Old Bay Homemade Chips,The Western Burger & Fries. Yes i was hungry! Everything was outta this world. The soup was warm and tasted great The burger had great flavor and tasted amazing.

The service was great came to our table within 3 min of sitting down and checked on us periodically. Food was delicious, crab nachos, cheesesteak, western burger and peanut butter chocolate pie and New York cheesecake. Drinks looked great but with being on a road trip we had to pass on their brews. Will definitely stop here again next time thru!

If you love burgers this is the spot!!! I forgot the name of my burger but it had a sunny side up egg on top of my patty and it was delicious!! The meal came with chips, which was crisp and salty, perfect combo with the burger! Service was a little on the slow side but they were short staff but it was worth it. Loved our waitress and she was always checking up on us to make sure everything was ok and I appreciate that even with short staffed day. Prices were reasonable for such a big meal. Definitely a hidden gem!

Had lunch at The Broad Axe. We called it in and picked it up. We had the Hummus Plate. It is housemade hummus with fresh pita chips, cucumber, celery, red & yellow & green peppers. I had the Reuben with housemade old bay chips. The food was great. The young man that took my order was very polite and he listened to my order and repeated it back to me. It was ready when it get there to pick it up. We have not been there in years. They have in my opinion always had good good there. And this did not disappoint us. I know I best the same drum about eating in local shops. Please support all locally owned and operated businesses. Keep our money local. Thank you for a great lunch. Also just wanted to put this out there too there togo containers are recyclable.

Love swinging by the Broad Axe. Excellent pub style atmosphere that features a great food menu complimented by a wide variety of fine quality craft brews. Bar staff is exceptional! Highly recommend!

I had the Gumbo special and Catfish & Chips. Both delicious. They had a great beer selection and the bartender was friendly and never left me waiting. I will be back when in town again and would recommend to anyone else.

Great, little neighborhood bar with fabulous food and, if you hit it on the right night, music!

If you are in town, this is the place to go at night. Let's start by the stage where several bands will play from Nirvana to Alanis Morrisset. The flood and the drinks are very good. We had fried pickles and the western burger. Be patience to be seated. the place can be packed at nights. Service was quick and the Old fashion very well executed. come over, you won't regret it.

Good burger place, live music Wendsday and Thursday evenings. Inside and outside seating.

We love this place especially on Mondays from 4-6 with the live jazz. Great food, super reasonably priced. Great crowd!!! Great service!!!!

Hard to complain! Found a place to sit, heard some epic jazz, and paid a really fair price for my beer. Lots of parking nearby as well.

I have been looking for a good fish and cheese sandwich since moving to the area( I'm in Falling Waters WV, bout 15 minutes away) anyways after looking at the reviews I decided to give it a try. One of the best food decisions I've made!! It was DELICIOUS!! I got the catfish sandwich with lettuce, onions and extra cheese!! Very good portion size and absolutely fantastic! As I write this post, I'm debating the next menu item, along with a additional fish sandwich as well. The staff are very attentive, well mannerable and they seem to go the extra mile. Do yourself a favor and see for yourself!!

Been going here for food and beer for years and the great atmosphere has never changed. Staff is friendly and down to earth but quick and efficient at their job. They have a rotating draft list and full bar full of spirits. The food menu has lots of great options and they have specials throughout the week. Plenty of parking to the rear. Highly recommend this place.

I absolutely love found here for lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable and I've never had a bad meal. Last time I was there they had homemade cream of asparagus soup that was top notch. Their Fish and Chips is a very generous portion of fish that is Breaded and fried to perfection.

I really liked this place . Service was excellent, had the catfish sandwich and crab burger. Both weee very good . Great stop not too far from the highway . I look forward to stopping here again when I make the trek north or south on 81!

Great place - food was excellent and the atmosphere lively. They were short staffed like most places these days but the servers did their very best to attend to us. Very enjoyable experience. Looking forward to visiting again.

Stopped our truck in Hagerstown and decided to try the local fair. This place is great, Janelle our Bartender was very attentive and the locals, Hannah and Tony, held us in conversation while watching the Bills Game. We will return on another trip through this area.

This was the happening place in town. 3 of us at our table and we took food home, everything was good.... Fried catfish tacos - delicious. Turkey Rachel was perfect-o... Lastly the club sandwich with bacon - stacked high with turkey, ham, roast beef and crispy crunch bacon... Yum to it all.

Really great place. Food was prepared to like.very good atmosphere. Definitely would come back and enjoy another meal.

The food was phenomenal i got the shrimp po boy and it looked fantastic and was extremely delicous. Atmospshere was great and they just got new bar chairs in which are actually super comfortable. Massive downside is you pay and upcharge of 2 dollars for fries and in return you get a small handful. Do a favor to your patrons and dont let them go home hungry because of a small amount of fries.

This was our first time here and the food was great. The drinks were great as well and not watered down. The service was prompt and our waitress was very helpful. They have a week stocked selection of bourbon and whiskey to include some Rye’s. The bar area was pretty quiet for noise and it was a Saturday so that was a good surprise. It’s in downtown so traffic is busy and parking can be difficult if you’re unfamiliar with the area. Great food and a good time was had.

Park infront of restaurant, don’t walk through Hagerstown at night. Great beers. Great prices. Wednesday is karaoke night, a lot of fun. I was staying near Hagerstown for work. Picked this place out of a dozen. Chicken BLT sandwich is top notch.

Tucked in perfectly! Not a large restaurant, but a relaxing atmosphere with great service! The menu had a great selection of above-level bar food. I had the Reuben which was fantastic! The burgers were great too. A great spot for our evening in town!

The food and staff was excellent. It did take a very, VERY, long time for us to get our food though. Overall I'd say it's worth it's, but be prepared to wait awhile...

Local bar that has stood the test of time. Food and drink prices were very good. Bartenders typically hover around the locals, so you may have to ask for drinks. Not sure I would consider this a five star establishment.

The chorizo burger and crab balls were delicious! Service was quick and attentive. But it was clear that the server that never tried anything on the menu when asked what was recommended. If you are passing through, like we were, street parking is free after 5p and on the weekends.

We stop in here for lunch or dinner on a fairly regular basis. Usually service is good. Food is yummy and usually doesn’t take an extremely long time to come out (it can take awhile sometimes). On a recent evening we stopped in to hear the live music. Unfortunately on this evening, service was mediocre, had to ask for refills, etc. and our food took about 45 minutes to come out with no apologies. We’ll still go back as we enjoy this bar, hopefully it was just a bad night.

Our waitress was super. There were 2 specials today. I had one, and my wife had one. You would think that since they were the special of the day you would get it faster than 30 minutes.

Always pretty crowded, but good food at reasonable prices. Excellent beer menu, good service. Had the chorizo burger which was excellent. Will definitely go back.

Broad Axe Very busy Sign says seat yourself not true as we were moved from reserved table Moved to our second seat we had to get menus from customers at next table Oskar Blues beer was banging but needed to be colder The music in the small room to left as you enter needs to turned down Cannot even talk across the table to you company Wife and I both had firehouse burger We both ordered the burger to be cooked medium When biting into burger you see the red almost bleeding inside of it The hand cut fires were a nice touch but would have been better served hot instead of warm There are several nice beer selections and I just may visit again. If I do hopefully it will be a better experience

Order, buffalo wings, hot I asked for extra celery and four blue cheeses They charge me for it and all I got was two blue cheese and three celery sticks. Are you serious like this is a joke I mean don’t get me wrong. They’re buffalo wings are good but if I’m paying for extra celery and blue cheese, I should get it correct?

Decide to go here because my first experience went well but this time was bad. I ordered old bay wings and they were okay, didn’t really taste like old bay. The fries were soggy but probably because they were in a to go pan/box. The crab dip was terrible. It taste like they added mustard to it & it was overpowering. The crab dip looked yellow due to mustard. And I was given soggy bread & chips with it. The chips taste like garlic bread because it was all thrown together. Their prices aren’t too bad though.

No one greeted us when we came in. I went to ask 2 questions at the bar and the bartender gave me a smarty answer and I didn't like his tone with me. We found 2 seats at the bar. My significant other ordered our food so the bartender changed his tone then. I will say the food was good and the drinks were good. But they seem unorganized or short staffed.

Food took about an hour to get to us and was mediocre. When I mentioned the wait, I got an excuse about how small their kitchen is. Service was not rude, but definitely not friendly. Prices are good. Would not recommend.

Went there yesterday cuz I heard good stuff about this restaurant just to get something simple FISH N chips I asked the server is there obey on the fries and she said yes so when I got home to eat it there was no ol bay on the fries the fish was way over cooked no spoon or fork it was a little Nasty in my opinion but it was something simple just fish and chips but maybe give another try but not going to lie I was a little disappointed
