My wife and I came for Sunday brunch. We made a reservation for 10:00 when they opened. We were seated immediately. The interior in the bar area was very nice with a warm and welcoming vibe. There were large open doors that led to a beautiful outdoor area and was perfect for the comfortable weather that morning. The food was excellent, the coffee was hot and good, and the mimosas were crisp and delicious! I ordered the chef’s special omelette and a side of sage sausage. My wife ordered the breakfast flatbread. We also ordered the pastry basket. We took leftovers home. We will definitely return for brunch again or for dinner. Highly recommended!
We always have a nice visit at this place whether it's for brunch or dinner. Today was brunch. Brittany was an efficient and attentive waitress and received support from other servers in the same station whose names I didn't get. Shortly after we received our menus, we requested beignets for the table which was a nice way to kick off the meal. I ordered the braised short rib with eggs. Other orders at our table included the steak salad, French toast, and eggs benedict. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The place was pretty busy when we got there around 11:15 and was bustling by the time we left a couple hours later. We were seated in the dining room by request. We find that the carpeted floors absorb some of the sound and make group conversation more manageable than at tables in and around the bar area. As mentioned, we always have a nice visit here. We will definitely be back.
We had an outstanding experience last night at the Blue Bell Inn. Five stars in every category, from food to service to the atmosphere (highly recommend eating in the outside patio, beautiful). The food was phenomenal. I had the filet, and my husband had the salmon. Both dishes we're cooked to absolute perfection. And our server (I think her name was Paige) took great care of us. She was very welcoming, pleasant, and attentive. I'm looking forward to the next time we dine at the Blue Bell Inn.
My daughter in-laws made reservations for my birthday & Fathers day. The food was so amazing!! loved everything that came to table. Loved being there, it's a favorite! Can't wait to go back to eat outside with the beautiful plants and waterfall.
Had an amazing brunch here this morning! Jumbo shrimp cocktail and half dozen east oysters were fresh and delicious to start. The omelet of the day and Garden skillet were excellent, espresso martinis were on point, and the Reese's peanut butter pie and Creme Brule were the best way to close out Brunch! The place is stunning, so many different rooms and outdoor seating, full bar area and service was exceptional. Would be a beautiful place for private events. Found my new favorite brunch spot and I will be back!
The hostess staffing was excellent! Even though we were originally seated in another dining area, they accommodated our request and found us a table in the bar area. The atmosphere was lively, and the musician was fantastic—he even sang the Philadelphia Eagles fight song, which had the whole place energized! The food was absolutely delicious, making the entire experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!
Excellent dining experience. Out server Paige was amazing. She was genuinely friendly, and loves her work. The manager came by to see if we were enjoying our dinners. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant! (6/22/24 update). Still the same wonderful place with the same awesome food and friendly staff. Love the Blue Bell Inn!
I really enjoyed my dinner. The food is delicious and unique. Everything was well prepared and presented. The Chilean Sea Bass is the best I've ever had. The Oreo Peanut Butter Pie is really amazing. The staff is very informed in guiding you through all the menu choices. I love it ❤️
Here for a cute wedding! My besties wedding over the weekend!!! We had a private area! The setting was perfect! The food very delicious!!! And the bartender made some yummy martinis! The staff at the event were so friendly and polite! The inn itself is gorgeous!! Just imagine how many people have strolled through this inn over the years!!
First time dining at Blue Bell Inn and everything was delicious. The bread rolls are incredible. Everyone was very nice especially our waitress, Beth! She rocks! I’ll definitely be back here soon (and dreaming about the calamari until then)
Enjoy refined dining in Montgomery County’s most esteemed venue. Located 20 miles north of Philadelphia’s Center City and near Ambler and Plymouth Meeting, PA, Blue Bell Inn elegantly blends American heritage with contemporary style and cuisine. Suitable for business gatherings, lively happy hours, leisurely Sunday brunches, or milestone celebrations, Blue Bell Inn provides an unmatched atmosphere. With a storied past, The Blue Bell Inn figured prominently in the American Revolutionary War. Following the Battle of Germantown, George Washington and his troops established temporary headquarters on Lewis Lane from October 6th to December 15th, 1777, with Washington frequently staying at the Inn. In 1796, the addition of a tower housing a distinctive bell led to the establishment’s name change from The White House to The Blue Bell Inn. The food is exquisitely done by Executive Chef Dan. Enjoy your meal while sitting where history was made !! Tell them the PhillyFoodFanatic says hello .
Great all around and I think we heard Happy Anniversary from 10 different employees! Nice attention to detail and our server knew her menu. Great drinks and food. Branzino was the best I’ve ever had and it was a big helping. The Lemon cake was superb! Beautiful patio with a wall to keep out road noise. We will be back!
Great food choices. Happy Hr is a plus. Nice view of fountain when you in outside area.
Blue Bell Inn is such a very special place! My wonderful husband took me here for my birthday! What a surprise! The food is beyond amazing, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was perfect! There was a gentleman playing a guitar in the bar area and his choice of music was on point. Perfect music! I can't say enough about Blue Bell Inn!
Had brunch with the family on the outside patio. Our waitress Cathy was absolutely great. She had a great sense of humor that made the experience even better. My mom has a peach sangria and my sister had the endless Bloody Mary. I had the coffee. All of this with a pastry basket to share. For entrees, my sister had the Italian Baked Eggs (a take on eggs in purgatory). Mom had the chicken and biscuits covered in a sausage cream sauce. I had the lobster and eggs. It was soft scrambled eggs in a puff pastry with a Maine lobster cream sauce topped with caviar. For desert, I had the blueberry bread pudding. I will definitely be back soon.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Culinary Delight! Blue Bell Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. This food!.. Every bite was a symphony of taste. From the first appetizer to the last dessert, each dish was a work of art that delighted both the eyes and the palate. The cocktails were masterfully crafted, offering a perfect complement to the exquisite flavors. Blue Bell Inn is a true culinary haven. This place promises an unforgettable experience that's as delightful as it is delicious. 🍽️🍹 #BlueBellInn #CulinaryExcellence #ElegantDining #DelightfulCocktails #GastronomicJourney
A absolute classic, the Blue Bell Inn is the perfect destination for a fancy, upscale brunch or satisfying dinner, all in a beautiful decor. Service and flavor match the atmosphere here.
I came here for lunch with my partner and friends. All of us were very happy with our meals. The crispy calamari was fantastic - it comes with the sauces already poured on top! I got the salmon entree - it was the perfect portion size, cooked beautifully, and presented well. One person in the party is pregnant but was craving the shrimp cocktail appetizer. They ended up just grilling the shrimp per her request. That was one of the many reasons that I have to give their service 5 stars. I will definitely be returning and I will recommend to anyone in the area.
Would definitely recommend. High end feel. Really nice relaxing environment. Our waiter was extremely courteous and professional. The food was phenomenal. Will definitely be coming back here again!
The Blue Bell Inn has every facet of a fine dining experience covered - from the complimentary valet parking and impeccable service to the skillfully plated appetizers, entrees, and desserts - whatever the occasion, the staff is well equipped to make it memorable.
1st time there, despite living mile away for 26yrs. Celebrated wife Bday. Melissa the server was awesome and the helpers were spot on. Good place!
Such a great spot to unwind and relax. The service is wonderful. Everyone really knows how to treat customers right. Kevin was our server and he was AWESOME. The menu reminds me of old school country club, though much better in taste and presentation. The wine list is extensive and the bar can make any cocktail you want/need. We started with the calamari. It was breaded and fried and tasty, but could have been a touch crispier. The light sauce it rests in was sooo delicious. The Caesar salad was over dressed I my opinion (I didn't try it, so not comment on taste) I got the grilled shrimp appetizer as my entree. There were 3 jumbo shrimp on a bed of lettuce, small amount of orecchiette pasta and a very tasty sauce. These were some of the most perfectly grilled shrimp I've ever eaten. I would not be able to go back and not get this again! I wasn't a huge fan of the orecchiette pasta, I would have preferred an arugula base or other vegetable. But the shrimp. YUM! My friend had the salmon and she said it was delicious. We had one other dish but I'm not sure what he ordered. The Malbec was exceptional. We were there and treated to live music on the patio. A real treat. The band, Whiskey Jam was awesome and the entire patio became a big family listening to old favorites.
Wonderful dining experience! Our server was second to none. Food presentation and quality were off the charts! Amazing knowledge of their extensive wine selection with a fantastic spirit variety to boot.
My fiance and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at the Blue Bell Inn. It was my first time there and it definitely won't be the last! Service was a little slow to get started since it was busy, but once it took off, we were well taken care of. The food was incredible and multiple staff made sure to celebrate our day. Thanks for making it as special as possible! Pictures include the calamari, the cheese steak dumplings, the chicken and dumpings, the duck breast, truffle Mac n cheese, whipped potatoes, and the apple pie bread pudding. Yum!
Suzanne was phenomenal! The blue bell inn is always close to my heart especially the blue room or duck or bird room I would dine here as a kid so coming back and enjoying a nice meal with husband is so nice. The owner is so nice too ! The food is phenomenal!
With almost 300 years of history, the Blue Bell Inn has a charm that stands out, and the original dining room had a festive feel. The menu is impressive, and the bar looks like a fun, welcoming spot. I’ll definitely return. The lobster roll was delicious, and I regret not finishing your fries lol. The chocolate cake was a highlight, and the café latte was exceptional. The overall ambiance, from the décor to the service, made the visit feel thoughtfully put together perfect for special celebrations in the day (as ours was) or a decadent night out. Shout out to Jacob the Valet! Thank you!
Have not been to the Blue Bell Inn in many, many years. Went there recently and was very pleasantly surprised. The interior is really well done. The bartenders were efficient and the food was excellent. Oysters were fresh and tasty and a steal at $1 each. The two petite filet appetizer was very good. The meat was prepared perfectly medium-rare as requested. Next time I order it I will request the béarnaise and bacon blue cheese sauces be served on the side since they detracted from the steaks. The Italian panini was also very good - simple, surprisingly light with great ingredients. The place can be a little loud. Regardless, I will definitely be going back soon.
Beautiful breakfast location. The bread bowl needs more than 4 pieces. Cocktails were excellent!
Very inviting and warm place. We went on a Saturday night dinner and it’s perfect. Burrata is the best and dessert was exceptional.
Historic and inviting spot with fantastic food and attentive service — perfect for special nights! Love the outdoor dining space and the "back" bar.
A pleasant surprise at the local inn, had an old fashioned cocktail and the ribeye steak along with some starter. The cocktail was okay, nothing special. The steak was amazing, one of the best ribeye's I've ever had. Rare+ was perfectly delivered with a nice crust and tender meat. Would definitely recommend this place!
Absolutely amazing! Huge shoutout to Susan, best server my girlfriend and I have had. Everytime we go we request her and it’s always the best experience!
Hosted my company’s holiday party here for a second time in 7 years. The facility is beautiful, staff were top tier, and food was very good. We will be back!
What an unexpected and wonderful experience I had tonight. Grabbed some dinner here after drinks at a work event. Drinks, to apps, through entree were fantastic. It was the best meal I have had in quite some time across the country. The calamari is a must get. I will go out of my way the next time I am in the area to come back to the Blue Bell.
Celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary. Lunch outside on a beautiful, warm, sunny, spring, day was perfect. Our waitress couldn't have been any nicer. Very attentive. Mention to the chef that we were celebrating our anniversary and our dessert came out with a Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. Recommend the fried oysters appetizer. The steak and cheese, string and fries. All the salads looked delicious. The entire staff are very cordial and the outdoor seating area by the waterfall is really special.
Came in to celebrate and the service was top notch! Jim the manager came by and was very genuine with us. I may spell the servers name wrong but Les was great! Food was delicious and exactly what we wanted. They even made us a special dessert plate to help us celebrate! 12 outta 10 would recommend!
Great food, friendly servers, cool building. My biggest gripe is that the valet parking takes up like half the parking lot (and looked empty). I know it's complimentary, but is it really complimentary if you tip? It didn't seem to be as much of a problem when I went to brunch.
The food was very good. I had an Asian tuna salad which had Napa and soba noodles. The tuna was a little overcooked., but the seasoning was great. My husband had twin 3 oz filets, one topped with crab meat and the best bearnaise sauce I've ever had. The second was topped with bacon jam and Bleu cheese. The filets were cooked perfectly.
Always a lovely, sometimes energetic atmosphere. If you can eat outside, it's fabulous. We did not. Flat iron steak very flavorful and cooked as requested. Oysters nice lil small in size. I liked the buffalo chicken bites, though some felt slightly overdone. While most every time I've been there the rating was higher, maybe the holiday weekend team why it was tad less. Nevertheless, this is an excellent establishment for a lovely meal almost guaranteed.
Wow! What a great experience all around. I cheaped out and got the burger, but it was quite juicy and delicious. My better half had the Ahi tuna and we split an order of the toast with ricotta and strawberry fig jam and cheesesteak dumplings. Not pictured is the trio of profiteroles, also melt in your mouth good. We will definitely be back, but more likely for a special occasion :)
Easy to make dinner reservations for two on a weeknight, received a reminder confirmation the night prior. Opted for the dining room - Upscale decor, and quieter vs the bar area. We had filet mignon cooked exactly as ordered, and encrusted halibut with brussel sprouts and roasted squash which was delicious. We saved room for dessert and were not disappointed. Large wine and liquor selection, several standard beers. Service was fine, maybe a little slow converting the place was not crowded, plenty of host and manager staff around; a manager checked with us during our dinner. Good size free parking lot; looks like it might get crowded on a weekend.
Food was delicious, ambiance was absolutely wonderful. We had dinner on a Saturday night, band was playing, tons of energetic people enjoying the weekend out. Menu was good for the price. Location is easy to get to. Parking is a bit tight and difficult to find on your own. They do have courtesy valet so I recommend using them so they can figure out the chaos. It was a fun time here.
Food was fresh, tasted good, and our server was great. Easy parking and restaurant is clean with spacious tables.
Got to brunch later in the afternoon. Complimentary valet parking was nice. The eggs Benedict were ok. Needed a little more flavor, but it was still good. The food came out really fast. Looked kind of thrown on the plate. No garnish. The flat bread was delicious! The server was very attentive and nice. Drinks were great. Was given a surprised scoop of ice cream for my birthday, which was very kind of them. I'd definitely come back again.
Arrived at opening time on a Friday at lunch. They had our reservation and took us to a choice of 2 tables. Servers were attentive and pleasant. Some unusual menu items. Willing to switch a side salad for fries. Side salads had mix greens and were tasty. Glad we were there early before the dining room got noisy. Pleasant outdoor seating was also available.
We chose Blue Bell Inn for our Valentine's dinner on Fri, 2/13. We had to go at 5 pm as no other times were available online. When we arrived, the dining rooms were empty. The hostess said she had a nice quiet table away from the bar. She took us to the back dining room and we soon found out it was NOT quiet. We were the only patrons and we were constantly hearing the kitchen and wait staff as well as a constant flow of staff yelling 'CORNER' every 10 secs. There needs to be a better system for wait staff to alert each other (maybe a light sensor that goes on around the corner when they pass). Wait staff also needs to be cognizant that their voices carry when in the prep area. With that said, Saly was delightful and very attentive and personable! The food was so/so and expensive. When leaving at 6:15 pm, all the dining rooms that we passed to exit were mostly empty......so why were we forced to dine at 5?
Today we attended Blue Bell Inn for a Women’s Holiday Brunch. Our servers were amazing and the food was delicious. Then, unfortunately, there was a lapse in pertinent communication and a situation arose regarding our payment and a couple of out credit card went missing for 30 minutes. I had to inquire what was going on because I almost forgot and left without it. Kevin the Manager had a very sarcastic response of just being sorry for the inconvenience. He tried to write our credit card number down which is against the law. He did not offer any explanation until I asked, nor did he propose any compensation. Up until that point everything was amazing. I think it is important to screen your employees, especially management to protect the brand. Kevin could have placed the establishment in a legal situation not to mention his fraudulent approach to solve the problem was unprofessional. Blue Bell Inn is a staple in our Community and it’s unfortunate that my guest had to experience Kevin’s lack of customer service.
Been going here for many years and it had always been great until yesterday. My husband made reservations for us and basically we like going for our valentines dinner the day after. Was seated in the Blue Room , the greeters were all lovely except for our waiter his name was Brian. Very grumpy looking server just didn’t want to be there and also felt like he didn’t want to be bothered with us. Didn’t bother getting us a bread basket we’d had to ask the guy that was filling our water for one. He never checked on us, felt like we were invisible to him. Had to ask him for another drink and by the time it came down to dessert I was so annoyed that I just couldn’t wait to leave. This was our Valentines dinner that I was so looking forward to and at this point not really sure that I’d want to go back. Horrible service Brian , shame on you !
I went for lunch. Ordered the fried calamari and the crab cake sandwich. The calamari was tenderly fried and tasted fresh. It was accompanied by a spicy aoli which i requested to be on the side. The crab cake sandwich was just OK. It tasted fresh but it lacked flavor. The sandwich really could've benefited from some Old Bay or Cajun seasoning. Also, the CRAB CAKE WAS MINISCULE! It was placed on a fresh, soft, pretzel roll, bur the cake was about the size of a slice of small tomato. That was the real disappointment. Our server was very friendly. We briefly talked about the Eagles game the night before. She has beautiful, long hair, I just wished it were tied back and not hanging over our table. The Inn is surprisingly busy at lunchtime, with a mix of business professionals, senior citizens and families. The restaurant is lovely and the surrounding grounds are picturesque. Bathrooms were spotless too, and had nice touches of complimentary mouthwash and lotion.
Didn't get a chance to experience the place, tried to schedule a group dinner for a special occasion and after saying they could accommodate the event, Kelly Harris never got back to us. After multiple attempts to reach out to Ms Harris and staff, we have yet to hear from anyone. Unprofessional, didn't get a good vibe and disappointed. Just glad we didn't spend $$$$$ there. Will find a different place that is willing to accommodate.
