Went on July 28th at the start of Happy Hour— beautiful interior design, great happy hour, strong drinks! I had the fried fish tacos, the frozen pink margarita, the black bean nachos, elote, and the churro cookiewich. Our server was sweet and checked on us frequently. Will definitely be coming back!

We had an amazing time here last nigh! The staff was very accommodating. We had a huge group and they scraped it together on a Friday night so we can sit all together. Also, we did not feel pressure to wrap up quickly. Our waiter Chase was wonderful. The bussers were on top of it and the sweetest guys ever. Everyone enjoyed their food and was impressed with the quality and flavor! We will all definitely come back!

Been here twice and both times the experience was amazing. Best margarita I have ever had hands-down. Nachos were perfect

Wonderful experience overall. Their happy hour menu is great. The the service and conversation with management and servers were very pleasant. It gets busy after about 6:00 to 6:30, which is expected. The outside does not give the inside justice. The place is a lot bigger and a lot nicer than it looks on the outside. They even have private rooms that you can book for up to 15-20 people. I will definitely be going here again and I highly recommend it

Perfectly nestled in ambler Pennsylvania this Mexican restaurant is full service with lots of choices and plenty of room for dining, including a private room in the back for all your parties and get togethers. I will attach a picture of their menu and their cocktails. You will find several extremely reasonable dishes, as well as beverages.

My husband and I went here for a spontaneous date night during happy hour. We had the three chili margarita and the white sangria along with the nachos. Nachos were super cheesy and packed with toppings- great! Prices were good, good and drinks were yummy, service and vibes were good.

This place is EPIC. I don’t even generally write reviews, I have to be really impressed. This place has incredible service, lax but classy atmosphere and authentic dishes that really should be tried by any foodie! I had my fair share of seven appetizers and was legit impressed by EVERYTHING! ceviche, octopus, salsa, steak fajita tacos, sooooo GOOD! this is a must!!!

We’ve been to Cantina Feliz many times. And always an enjoyable experience. They have now moved to Ambler. They are no longer in Ft Washington. The new location is going to take some getting used to, they’ve been there for 3 weeks. I can appreciate the desire to be on mainstreet Ambler for the business however I miss the ambiance at Ft Washington. I always enjoyed our window seat at Ft Washington. This time the hostess planted us in a crowded row of tables for two. We opted for the bar. Grateful the bar was open and served food. Mahi mahi tacos and brisket enchiladas. No complaints about the food excellent as usual. I dine out for ambiance and food both being equal in my priorities. Still giving it a five because the ambiance is nice just not my vibe. Best of luck in your new location.

My first time and I am very impressed. Lina our server was super polite and spot on on the menu. The place is clean, servings all right and the price is affordable. I will take my family back again

Food is more authentic rather than Tex Mex. The pork tacos were the best I've ever had. The waiter was amazing, funny and entertaining.

Food and service all around was amazing! Food was so fresh and delicious, tasted like a home cooked meal! Atmosphere was very nice and service was so friendly. Our waitress and what I’m guessing was the manger and or owner checked in with us multiple times but not too much to be annoying.definitely will be back!

Loaded Nachos, Chile Relleno were out of this world - so tasty! Excellent server.

Great evening at Cantina Feliz! Restaurant Week special was fabulous and everything tasted delicious! Love the vibe, quick service, and food is always good!

The food here is expertly prepared and very fresh and flavorful. We had waygu tacos, a grilled shrimp and rice and seafood enchiladas which were all excellent and highly recommended. We share an app of guac and chips, really tasty not to spicy guac. For dessert we Shared the yummy and decadent sundae Very upbeat but noisy atmosphere especially when there are a lot of people.

I had brunch with a friend and it was a really nice afternoon. I work not far from Ambler, but was surprisingly ignorant of all the dining options on/near Butler Avenue! I love the 'walkableness' of the area, and there is plenty of parking nearby. We had a light brunch and a few cocktails, which were all very good. Service was friendly and attentive. I could easily do this again.

Cantina Feliz is a gem in Ambler! My wife and I decided to go out for appetizers and a drink or two and it let us here. We sat at the bar and had the nachos and the guac trio and, as always, they were fantastic. My wife got a frozen margarita and I had a spicy margarita which were great. All in all, this we always have a great time here and recommend others to give it a try

This place is by far the best place I've been for Mexican style cuisine. It's a modern menu so don't expect the usual endless litany of the same old items. The menu is small (1 page) and highly curated. Everything is prepared with thought, tastes amazing.and well presented. I would give the food a 6 if I could. The service is great with friendly wait staff but occasionally I have found one or two of them who are somewhat grumpy who didn't make me feel welcome. The decor is cool blue and has a relaxed vibe with great music every time. I can't recommend it enough if you like Mexican cuisine.

I’m not much for Mexican food( especially spicy food) but I really enjoyed my Mexican Cobb salad. My friends also liked their entrees like Enchiladas and the corn soup. Our server Chase was terrific ! We also like the semi private room in the back as we celebrated our friends’ birthdays. A very nice place and good choice!

Cantina Feliz is a fantastic spot with a great vibe and delicious food. The flavors are bold and fresh, the tacos are excellent, and the margaritas are some of the best around. Everything comes out well prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere is lively and fun, the staff are friendly and attentive, and service is quick even when it’s busy. It’s a perfect place for a night out with friends or a casual dinner. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to. 🌮🍹

LOVE Cantina Feliz! From service to atmosphere, it hits every box! ANY server we have is accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks are always flowing. Everything is made in house. Family owned business. What else do ya need?!

Excellent food. We are from So California where a Mexican restaurant is on every corner. We were pleasantly surprised how great the food was at C. Feliz. The Chicken Mole was perfect, as was the enchilada sauce. I ordered the short rib empanadas and loved it. That green sauce with cilantro was so good. This is gourmet Mexican for reasonable prices. Loved the Margarito too. Que Rico.

I’ve long been a fan of Cantina Feliz, and for good reason. It’s rare to find a restaurant that makes my husband and I just as happy as it does our kids, but this one nails it every time. The esquites guacamole is hands down the best I’ve ever had, and I crave their red spinirita constantly. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive. Cantina Feliz has a way of appealing to everyone—families, friends, and groups of all ages—and it never disappoints. It’s the kind of place that will absolutely blow you away. So what are you waiting for?

My family hosted my cocktail-hour style bridal shower at Cantina Feliz and it was nothing short of perfect. Lina and her staff went above and beyond in meeting our needs. The bar area was gorgeous and the staff even provided low seating for some of our party. Jess, the bartender, was excellent and professional as well. Everyone raved about the food and drinks. A 100 out of 10!

Cantina Feliz is a great more upscale mexican restaurant in Ambler. I was here this passed weekend and my wife and I got the guac trio which was very good, some nachos to split which were to me awesome (but my wife thought too spicy), and as an entree I got the Baja fish tacos which had this fantastic slaw and spicy sauce on it. My wife got the Civeche appetizer as her meal and she was very please. Also, if you decide to come here make sure you try their margaritas!! They are delicious! I highly recommend trying Cantina Feliz

Vibe was great perfect fit for downtown Ambler. Food was good although not as flavorful as I'm accustom to. Guck great could have been made at table for the fans! Halipino some how got in, brought my wife to her knees. No sizzling fajitas.

Always a good time. Food is excellent to Margaritas are excellent. I usually raid the bar at happy hour when I'm in town. They have great specials! Delicious.

Awesome food and service. For these oldsters, however, it was too loud to enjoy a conversation or understand our server's questions. Saturday night at 7 o'clock was probably not the right time to be there. A few years ago we ate at their former location, and were so happy to experience food like we enjoy in Arizona during our Winters. We were looking forward to our dinner in the new location. So we were a little disappointed, but will definitely return at an earlier time, on a different day...hoping there is such a time.

Came her with to celebrate a birthday over the weekend and had a great experience. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The margaritas we got were also great. We ordered the nachos and guac sampler as appetizers and I was impressed with both (the nachos had the perfect amount of spice). For the main I got the Baja Fish tacos fried and they were phenomenal. Not sure what the slaw is on top of them, but it makes them so so good. My wife got some type of blackened fish entree which was also very good. Overall, we left very impressed! (Especially because it was cheap compared to other places in Ambler)

Had an early dinner here last night and it was great! The nacho appetizer was big and spicy and delicious. I got the Baja fish tacos which has this great slaw on top and just the right amount of spice, and my partner got the ceviche appetizer as her meal - and it was to die for. Will definitely be back!

Came for happy hour for 2. Sat at a table. Octopus was flavorful. Personally, I wish it had more char to it but was still delightful. The pork tacos were flavorful but I wish it came with 2 tortillas because as I was eating it the tortilla was falling apart in my hand. Fried/grilled fish tacos were good I wish there were more fish to vegtable ratio though. The coleslaw is slightly spicy which I enjoyed. The chocolate cake wasnt bad I like the sourness of the raspberry but the cake overall was a bit dry. Chase our waitress was very friendly and gave good recommendations. I would come back for something thats in the area.

The restaurant had a fun vibe with bright colors, true to form of their last location. They did a good job differentiating themselves from the prior restaurant in this location. All the food was very good. Guace, roasted salsa and warm chips were great. I had the enchiladas and my wife the cauliflower tacos. All very good with nice flavors, especially the mole sauce on the enchiladas. The margaritas were also a hit. The jalapeno cucumber Marg may be one of the best I've had. Only disappointment was the vibe. So many of our servers seemed sad to be working or non interactive. We tried to be happy and playful but strugged to get it in return from most.

First time here, and it was pretty good. The menu seemed limited, but still had a bunch of choices. The guacamole sampler was amazing! I could literally have that as my meal. All three choices were tasty. My wife said her tacos were very good. She said they were fresh tasting. I had the enchilada sampler an it was ok. I would not get the rib or veggie enchiladas again. The rib one had a weird mint taste to it? The Veggie was just plain Veggie. The chicken one though was very good. I think I'm used to the American way of eating Mexican food though. Like I could have used onions, tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream on my enchilada. Lol. Service was ok. Inside was nice, clean, open, and room to spread out. They do not have regular beer, just Mexican and some craft stuff. Margaritas were tasty but didn't have much alcohol in them. Overall not bad.

If you are looking for a satisfying and affordable meal, you might want to check out the happy hour carnitas tacos and margs at this place. The tacos are juicy and flavorful, and the margs are refreshing and strong. The bartenders are always attentive and friendly, and they will make sure you have a great time. The only downside is that the bar area can get kinda messy at times, especially when it's busy.

M
Meow Chemy

Love this place for a quick frozen Margarita or a nice size plate of chicken or shrimp nachos. Service at the bar can be slow since they typically have one bartender for the whole bar. Food is always FRESH tho and not frozen so it is worth the wait.

I’ve eaten in here for dinner three times, take-out two or three times, lunch a once or twice. The food is fresh and very good, some items lack flavor, such as the mushroom tacos. The tequila flight is a must have. The guacamole offerings are a must-have, the appetizers (especially the cauliflower) are so flavorful. Atmosphere is fun and very loud… Don’t expect to be having intimate conversation. Service can be a little novice, but not at the bar— they’re experts.

We went here on a lively Friday night to hear a friend sing. The music was fantastic and she sand all of the '90s hits. Think Alanis Morrissette and Edie Brickell. This is one of the few restaurants on Main St. (Butler Ave), that stays open late. The patrons are mostly under 40 yrs old, but everyone was welcoming and friendly to me (I'm over 50). It's a busy, very noisy restaurant, so keep that in mind if you're interested in having a conversation. The food was average. My grilled shrimp tacos were ok. The shrimp were nicely grilled, not overdone and the very small flour tortillas were soft. The three tacos would have been more enjoyable if they had a fresh fruit salsa or some pickled vegetables or slaw. My friend had the seafood combo enchilada. Honestly, they didn't look appetizing. The platter lasted any color, everything was a indistinguishable brown color. It did not come with rice, which i thought was odd because there was so much brown sauce. This is probably an entree that needs some tweaking. With several delicious Mexican restaurants in Ambler, I probably would not make Cantina Feliz my first choice for Mexican food. Our server was attentive and the bathrooms were clean and tidy.

Had a really nice meal here. Food was very tasty and beautifully presented. Cute decor and good service. I had a margarita on the rocks with a Tajin rim that was very good.

Fantastic Mexican food. The crab dip was excellent, tortilla chips are authentic. A bit disappointed with the ceviche. The portion was small and the description on the menu didn’t really describe what was actually served but other wise a great experience and atmosphere. Service was excellent!

We visited Ft Washington and Fairmont locations a few times. Always enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Since they moved to Ambler, we decided to get a take out. It was disappointing. Portions are tiny (see the pictures), no additional sauces are given, allergy requirements were completely ignored. Not worth it and lacks any flavors. Won’t return.

A
Andrew Pitcairn

Hmmm, not sure what's going on here. Almost all our food was cold, 6 of us. Flavor was off for sure. This was our first time at the new location. Unfortunate, though the best part was dessert!

S

Veggie nachos - TO DIE FOR! Everything else - Meh. Staff is friendly, ambience is great (they dim the lighting and have candles lit after 5pm). My friends ordered chicken quessadilla and cantras and I got myself a veggie enchilada (one of the only veg options there), and we were all not a fan of the food. Very mediocre and not authentic Mexican.

M
Mike C

Very limited menu. No chips or salsa served. No Chimichangas. Flavors OK. Service was good. Chicken Nachos and Enchiladas shown.

I was never a huge fan in Fort Washington, but assumed when they came to Ambler that maybe they would revamp everything and come to Ambler with a really new, fresh takes. In general, nothing ever tastes bad, so I can’t complain about the food as a whole. None of it is anything to write home about and this place is not usually one of the first restaurant choices we throw out when our household is discussing “where should we go to eat in town tonight“? I really wish they had some more Mexican/equivalent salad options, and I do think the tortilla soup is lacking (el limons puts theirs to shame!) Other than that, I think this place is fine. Nothing special, but completely edible.

Lauren

When people talk about quality service being a lost art this is what they’re talking about. Waited on in an empty resturant by the bartender who had me standing at the host desk for 3 minutes while he sat on his phone and I waited for his acknowledgement. His service was terrible the entire time while he was distracting prepping the bar but not waiting on any other customers. We had to wave him down to get his attention multiples times. He never checked on us and I had to ask him to clear plates and fill waters. Terrible. Food was below mediocre. Fried fish and chicken tacos tasted like they sat in an old fryer and too many sauces on the tacos. Shrimp ceviche had a strong sweet tomato sauce base which ruined the dish. Overall was simply not enjoyable. Dissapointing. The atmosphere and decor was very cute though.

M
Melissa

Definitely prefer old location, even though it was smaller. In this case, bigger isn’t always better. New place is nice but lacks the old authentic Mexican charm. Plus, parking in Ambler sucks. The staff were friendly enough, drinks & guac were good but it was extremely difficult to get past the odor of dirty, stagnant mop water. As soon as u walk in, it hits you. It was disgusting. Dirty floor mats behind bar? Not sure what it was but was bad enough we left HH at the bar and went somewhere else. It really should be addressed asap! Sadly I wasn’t wowed and won’t be rushing back :/

A horrible experience to start, the restaurant smelled like cat urine inside. They have items on the menu that are no longer being served, and waiters have no idea how to take an order. Food tastes like vomit. Not at all worth the money. Would rather just walk to the gas station and get a granola bar than eat in this atrocity of a restaurant. Not to mention that the food has no presentation; it looks like someone just dumped it out of the trash onto a plate. Some of the worst "Mexican" food I have ever eaten. THANKS, CANTINA, FOR THIS EXPERIENCE.

L
Liza Rosencranz

Our family had an awful experience. The service was slow, and our orders were wrong. The tuna was undercooked and tasted off, while the shrimp was also poorly prepared. Worst of all, my mom got food poisoning from the chicken. Overall, the combination of terrible service and disgusting food means I won’t be going back. I will be advising others not to go to this place.
