There’s a word to describe my experience. Phenomenal may have to be the final choice From the drinks poured by my new favorite mixologist Ashli! To the vibe set by the music and tasty aromas produced by the kitchen the whole establishment is GREAT! I will definitely be back soon!!
Fun, easy, enjoyable bartenders spot. Fun for a hang out, bit to eat, game of pool, meal, or drink and keep it moving. While we only stayed one round- they achieved the rare 4 of 4 drinks: Miller High Life, Coke, Manhattan, Water. Will return. Recommendable.
Only came for drinks but definitely based on the drinks, the service, and the atmosphere, I can't wait to come back. Really adorable place with just good vibes. Really nice service. The Rittenhouse happy place was amazing.
Great atmosphere for a (last minute) New Year’s Eve party. Music/Dj and complimentary toast :) helpful staff, good looking and kind customers
If you want a night out that includes fun, tasty nibbles, and great service...The Goat is where it's at!! I love that they have a huge window opening so while it feels you're outside, your still covered. Also, they have a pool table which I plan to enjoy the next time I go. They do card you so prepare to bring your ID. Both bartenders were dope, the manager even was very attentive to our needs as well. You won't be disappointed with The Goat! We will surely be returning!
Super dope first visit, atmosphere is impeccable. Xander was an awesome bartender, even recommended some infused cinnamon honey, simple syrup, for my old fashioned. Food was delicious too, pool is always a nice addition to a night
Best brunch I had in years. It felt so good to enjoy Saturday morning again. Looking forward to coming back soon!!
Wonderful place!!! The food is delicious!!! My shrimp and grits were amazing! Ashli, the bartender made a marvelous mango mimosa!!Atmosphere is good and love the music!!
Service, food and the bartender Ashli was wonderful. Tried the new dish on the menu, Shrimp and Grits. Nice down to earth atmosphere. You should try it
👌From the moment we got to the door even the security had a good vibe. Good suggestions for the menu, once we walked in we were blown away with the atmosphere. It was mellow friendly with awesome vibrations. The waitress was patient cheerful, all-around excellent. The food was the icing on the cake. It was outstanding we will be returning. We had an awesome time. My wife and I. ❤️
This place is the little slice of heaven that we all need in our lives; it’s quaint, yet inviting in a way that isn’t snooty. Our server, Keo, was an absolute gentleman and scholar, and gave us service that made us feel cared for and spoiled, with an attention to detail that you cannot find in any place in the city. We felt like family, and cannot wait to come back and be treated like royalty once again.
Phenomenal drinks! We stepped in on a weeknight for a drink or two. Everybody complimented the cocktails. The bartender with the fancy beard was friendly and professional. The ambiance is casual classy but not pretentious. Definitely a great overall bar and a wonderful drinks. Can't comment on the food but I'll try that next time!
Service and atmostphere were a 4.9 and food was 4.7. Drinks were also top notch. Our waitress was awesome on a very busy Fri night. The scene there is a euro style which I loved the restaurant with open window bar across the way with a hightop. We weren't rushed at all also. Should've gotten the burger..next time. Very enjoyable birthday dinner. For most restaurants closing down this was a special one. Prices for today's environment were very reasonable. Not sure the low rating it is not accurate especially for philly
Friendly staff made you feel at home. Good vibe. Everyone looked like they were having a good time. Cocktails are good (no duds on the list-we tried most of them). Food is tasty and you will want to come back ( this was our third visit).
Nice atmosphere, low key, low light, sports on tv, pool table. The bartender made great drinks and checked in often. The waiter was awesome, checking in and they did an amazing job advocating for a concern to get resolved with a product rep that was present. Good experience. I'll go back again.
I have been a consistent patron at this establishment for years and they have never failed to give excellent service and provide a comfortable atmosphere. The bar setup is excellent and the food never disappoints. I love this staff and vibe and always look forward to coming here after a long work day!
amazing atmosphere and amazing staff. The bouncer also the manager he is very good at his job and especially watched out for me and my girl when two guys were looking weird at us. I appreciated the drinks and the staff. For sure will be back. they keep it 100
The bartender was amazing. She made us drinks that were out of this world. The food was excellent also.
Had such a lovely time here. Everything we ate was delicious with delicious deviled eggs, flavorful and unique mac and cheese, and tasty fried cheese. The cocktails were also fantastic. The staff was caring and attentive
My Mom and I randomly came in this bar after a comedy show. Hizkias was amazing and very entertaining! I will definitely come back to this bar! I highly recommend this bar
Just stopped in and had the ABSOLUTE PLEASURE of meeting Isaiah. He was one of THE BEST bartenders we've EVER had. And between the 5 of us, we've had plenty. His drinks were mixed with absolute perfect precision, and his banter was top tier. This young man is the epitome of class, hard work, and dedication to his craft. He was attentive, friendly, kind and talkative. Greatest experience at a bar we've had, and we've traveled the world. The food review is strictly for drinks, and our bartender Isaiah. We did not eat, so can't speak to the quality of the food. A+++++++++
We came here after leaving Condesa because we were asked to leave the rooftop…rudely… We stopped at here at The Goat just to grab a drink for the birthday girl, and the vibe? IMPECCABLE. Service? STELLAR? Music is nice, bartenders were all excellent. Kind, friendly, celebratory. The funny thing is we parked here to walk to the other restaurant. So much for a quick toast…we’re still here! We found our new hang out spot for Philly weekends. Ask for Marcus.
I met my wife on a first date here! Glad that it was here because the ambiance was just right and our waitress was very kind. Special shoutout to the appetizers!
It was a whole vibe and Gwen was great, will definitely be back.
Amazing every time! The two bars are beautifully arranged and spacious. Summer nights with the retractable windows open are a must have experience. The classic cocktail, wine, and beer menus are carefully curated to have something for everyone. The food menu is full of great comfort classics. It’s an amazing place to shoot some billiards or watch the game while listening to a fire playlist. Most impressively, the staff is always welcoming and consistently on point with their attention to detail. A must try!
Everything we ordered was good. Curried deviled eggs, side of fries, shishito peppers with chipotle aioli. I really liked the cosmo and rum punch. Decent happy hour.
Checked this place out on a 1st Friday for happy hour went early so seating wasn’t bad, the atmosphere is nice and the location is not bad side street but safe. The service was nice and the food ok, drinks were satisfactory, would be a great spot for stated meetups. There is a nice sized pool table, but if it gets packed you will not be and to shot. There is also another bar in the rear, this place will be great when the weather gets warmer.
I used to come to the goat every two weeks if not more. It’s been really disappointing to see they removed the French dip from the menu (it was excellent). The pool table also made the goat unique and an extra table to replace it really brought down what made the goat the best regular spot
The old Cavanaugh's I think. It's a nice place! The fireplace is wonderful and I love the decorative goats and ambiance. The farmhouse doors were a really nice touch. The service was good. A little slow but went above and beyond to serve me and my kids. The burger was really really tiny, almost like a slider. It was delicious but probably not worth the price. I really liked it though!
Waiter recomed the fries. They we ice cold with a clearly microwaved soup in the bowl to me. The grilled cheese was good nice blend of cheses flavor but barely warm. The tomoto soup was good with flavor with a bit of kick. It just seemed like they did not care. We had an issue with the check, and the waiter blamed us under his breath. Typical Philly or just bad service. TBD. It was not necessary to do that. The beer selection was Ok. Hoped for more. I would not return. It's not a good experience, and there are too many other choices. It did not get my goat.
Not too bad. Really loud bar for a place that seems to try to appear fancy. I think they made a half-decent whiskey sour, but charging over $60 for three drinks and a Mac and cheese is pretty unreasonable. If you're going to charge those sort of prices, then you need to provide really excellent service and fare. It definitely wasn't worth the cost.
Met a friend for drinks here - the cocktails were solid, especially the basil one (Biquette). I will say that the service and overall vibe inside do knock it down a peg. I wish I could give it a 3.5/5, but unfortunately Google is not cool with decimals yet I guess.
Stumbled on this place and really wanted to love it, because the first person we talked to was cool and the atmosphere was perfect. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Very slow service. Oddly done food. And the weirdest bouncer situation at the door I have encountered. Just many better options in this area.
Edited! Moved out of the city for a year and came back to this bar to find out the pool table was removed and filled with more chairs and tables. Worst decision they could ever make, the atmosphere is not the same anymore as well. Such a shame.
I have to say I usually don't write reviews though I do depend on them when I go out to places. The experience I had last night was the must off putting I have ever had at a Bar. I'm not sure if the staff was having a bad day or what. This excludes a lovely young lady who was bartending and the security guard at the door they were great. Three people in particular spoke to me and my friends with complete rudeness. I'm not going to write each instance but in situations where we only asked for service the attitudes were beyond rude. Of course I will not be returning and i'm sure no one there would care about it nor will they take responsibility for their actions. If you are looking for a bar where the majority of the staff will treat you like a problem go to the GOAT. There are plenty other bars next store or with in a block away ..go there.
Save your money and go somewhere else. These people have absolutely no idea what costumer service is, and clearly are burdened by people entering their establishment. General manager is rude, bartenders are rude. The atmosphere is cool with good music and a pool table, but that’s not enough to make me come back with so many other bars in the area.
Don’t come on a weekend! Standing at the bar on a Saturday night and one of the waitresses ask me if I want to take a seat at a table… when I kindly say “no I’m ok. Im standing here hanging out with friends.” She rudely replies “yeah well my concern is that you’re standing at the bar and people want to order a drink.” Meanwhile I just spent money on drinks and there’s plenty of spots at the bar for people to order drinks. Save your money and go elsewhere. I bartend and would never treat paying customers that way. Completely ignorant. DO BETTER.
I wouldn’t recommend this place. Service was fine and food was good, but I was charged my ‘total’ on the bill as just the tip. My bill was 84.04, tipped 17.00, total was 101.04. I was charged 101.04 as the tip and total came out to 185.08. I actually got a helpful email from my credit card company notifying me of it, or I would have never noticed! I called the bar and got no where and even went in and they weren’t helpful at all, when it was clearly a mistake on their end. My bartenders name was Gabriel H, and he’s the one I spoke to in person when I went, and despite admitting it was his own fault, didn’t even TRY to rectify the situation. I was polite about it and said I understand mistakes happen but I should in no way shape or form be responsible to pay %120 of my bill. He then offered me a shot to “call it even”. I politely declined and am now trying to go through my credit card company to get the refund. The funny thing is, if he refunded me in person and was helpful and at-least trying to rectify the situation, I was planning to tip $102 dollars! I’m a person of principle, the money is not the issue but unfortunately , I was not thrilled with how they handled the situation, so alas I come to Google Reviews!
Said wings were gluten free and were not
Yes, I’m a little behind on this review, but I suggest staying away. They are scammers. I went to eat here in October of 2023. Everyone seemed friendly. I wanted to go for a smoke so they asked for a credit card to hold while I was outside. Not a problem. At the end of the night they bring me my bill with my credit card. I leave cash for my $100 bill, plus a 40% tip! I get home from my vacation to find that they didn’t just take my cash, they also charged my credit card for the meal even though I never authorized this and had already paid for the meal with an exceptionally generous tip. Beware. Do not give them any cards to hold because they will rob you.
Spent almost $500 on dinner/drinks with my friends and none of us left satisfied, full, or buzzed. One of my friends had to wait an extra 10-15 min for her burger because they said the chef dropped it, which would be fine except they didn’t apologize and charged us fully for it (and still forgot her fries when they brought it out). My other friend ordered the cranberry walnut salad, and they gave her a bowl with chicken and lettuce and no other toppings. Then they proceeded to charge us for the toppings she later asked for once she realized they were missing. When we noticed both items were not only charged full price but they added charges, we said something and got major attitude. On our new check they increased their “included gratuity” from 18% to 20%. We were also told that “the manager told you why her burger was late” when they dropped off the new check, so I guess that means they don’t have to apologize. We were there for 2 1/2 hours, and not by choice. Overall incredibly rude staff/poor service and none of us will be returning.
Great location. Love that the walls open on a nice day. That's the best I can say. Food took an hour and was not good. Drinks that weren't in a bottle were terrible. Staff seemed disinterested in improving anyone's experience. Place has a lot of potential, but it ain't there.
We came here last night for a drink or two. We were a group of 8 women post dinner looking for a place to go. After one round of shots, the bartender lady she “didn’t feel comfortable serving us” anymore. To say we were shocked was an understatement. We were under control and respectful the entire time we were at the bar. I am still scratching my head as to what made this bartender think we couldn’t handle another round of drinks. Seeing past reviews, it seems like the bartenders here have an issue dealing with customers. Dear management- hire some new, amiable bartenders who know how to deal with people. I, nor my friends, will not be returning anytime soon. You will lose business by continuing to hire fun police.
My friend ordered medium rare Steak Frites for dinner. When it came out it was medium well. She didn’t like it and asked the bartender for a new one with the correct temp. The bartender didn’t take the incorrectly cooked steak away which we thought was weird. After still waiting 30 minutes for the new steak the bartender asked if we wanted a box. She reminded him that she ordered a new steak and didn’t want the old one. He said she would have to pay for both steaks!! I’ve worked in the service industry for 10 years and never in my life would I do this to a customer. He never said she would have to pay full price for a new steak before putting in the order. He saw we were upset so he took off $10. Terrible.
The goat burger just whack 5/10 just horrible no season nothing special it’s not a meal I would want my dog to eat! Cesar Salad Fries 7/10 was ok nothing special. Atmosphere 9/10 Service had to wait almost 10 mins to get my order was getting annoyed. Overall Experience 7/10
I do not even know where to begin this message. I stopped by 10/4 @ 1am. I ordered 3 drinks for my party of 3. We were having a great time/conversation when this young lady kept pushing into my friend. He looked over to let her know. Immediately after a man with dreads and a black hoodie started to spazz out on my friend. He stated that he was the manager on duty and continued to scream atrocious slurs to my friend who said we were already leaving the premises. Shortly after, a bartender with a white shirt and dreads approached us and aggressively shoved us out with the security. I cannot believe that ever happened.
I’ve been a regular at this bar for a long time, and I’ve always loved the welcoming atmosphere. It was a place where people from all walks of life could come together and enjoy a great time. However, over the past few months, I’ve noticed a shift in the vibe, and I can’t help but feel that something has changed since the management turnover. The bartenders who used to make everyone feel at home now seem distant, and the diverse crowd and staff that once made this place so special seem to have shifted towards a more homogenous demographic. Even the music and the overall energy of the bar reflect this change. I don’t know what exactly happened, but I truly miss the inclusive, vibrant environment this bar once offered. It was a place where you could come as you were and feel welcomed, and I wish it could return to that. Bring back the old bartenders like Jess who made this place feel welcoming.
I made reservations for two a week in advance of last week’s Eagles game. I called and confirmed an hour before and the woman on the phone said thank you for calling. We are definitely confirmed. By the time we got there less than an hour later, it turned out that they had completely ignored the reservations and filled the entire place. I protested and we ended up having a stand for 45 minutes while they figured out a place for us to sit. Once we did get seated the service was beyond unreasonable. we wouldn’t see our waitress for half an hour at a time or more. Our orders were wrong. After waiting 20 minutes for a drink I had to go up to the bar myself and get it. I repeatedly had to get up and flag people down so that we could get service. It was so bad that they comped our entire tab. I have been to the goat on many occasions, and this will certainly be my last. Notably, it wasn’t just us… There was a group of seven women who had reservations just like us and were turned away. I have had minor reservation issues in the past, but they were easily completed. At one point I showed up with a friend and half of the bar was empty but they told me I could not come in because I didn’t have a reservation. I hopped on my phone and made a reservation just then and then they let me in. They have serious issues with the reservations and with the service. I wish it were better cause it’s convenient and the food tends to be reasonable.
Terrible experience. I can only assume that no one in this bar likes to make money. We stopped in to see if we could get a table. There was a sign on the door that said "45 minute wait," so we came in and asked if it's still 45 min. We were happy that he owner/bouncer was able to give us a table right away. It's important to know that we were sitting directly in the owner/bouncer's line of sight, and we were visible within the entire place (in other words, we were not placed in some corner where no one could see us). We waited approximately 30 minutes, with no service. No one came to our table to just take a drink order. We thought that maybe, since they were busy that day, we would need to order from the bar. So my boyfriend went to the bar to try to place an order for drinks and appetizers. The bartender didn't even look at him. He spoke up to ask if we could place an order for food and drinks at the bar, and the bartender mumbled that she would send someone over to our table. We waited another 30 minutes with no service before we decided to leave. The entire time we were there, we had to listen to the owner/bouncer giving serious attitude to any potential customers who came to the door to ask about the wait. This guy was literally chasing away customers. So we sat there at a table for an hour with the owner/bouncer staring right at us and being rude to everyone he spoke to while wait staff ignored us. We will never go back.
I’ve been a regular at this bar for 2 years going quite literally every weekend. The service has gotten consistently worse over time and security staff more confrontational. It’s just bad at this point. It takes way too long to get a drink because there is only one bartender at the main bar when 2 are absolutely needed. Food is mediocre at best. When this place opened it was an oasis where you could go get a good cocktail. I don’t even bother ordering that kind of stuff anymore because 1 it takes to long to get it and 2 it backs up the bar like crazy. And experienced bartender and better management would be a great addition to this once thriving establishment. I don’t want this place to go away I want it to change for the better. Please bring back the “goat”
