I took my friend here for her birthday dinner the other night and the food was absolutely delicious! We both ordered the agnolotti and got a side of the roasted brussel sprouts to share. The agnolotti was so good, I just wish there had been more of it. The sage butter sauce was the perfect compliment to it. The brussel sprouts had lots of crispy, Smokey bacon and I need to learn to make this for myself at home. For dessert we went with the donuts which came with 3 dipping sauces and they were all delicious and decadent, but I think my favorite was the chocolate. It was a little pricey for the amount you get but is nice for a special occasion, so I’ll definitely be back.

Great food and great service this evening at Dettera. The bartender was wonderful and recommended the perfect drinks and food. We shared a few appetizers at the bar and it was plenty. Then we had a wonderful dessert and delicious cup of coffee to end the evening. We will definitely be back!

One of the best Ribeyes I have ever had. Excellent service. Plenty of tables.

Excellent meal and service! Lobster dumplings, brussel sprouts, calamari were great choices for appetizers. I had the mushroom pappardelle and it was delicious.

Although crowded, the well-designed sound barriers worked beautifully. Great seasonal menu with nice presentations. We enjoyed the food, wine, and drinks. Bravo!

Food was good. Service was good. The vibe is low-key. It's a nice spot for a date night. We got 4 drinks (1 wine, 2 cocktails, and a wine flight), 3 apps, 2 mains and total was $155. It was a pretty good experience. They have Saturday happy hours (4-6 pm) and those are a good deal

I hope this place isn't slipping. My friend and I went for happy hour and had the calamari and the beet salad the beet salad was good but the calamariwas oily. My friend said she was at an event here recently and the food wasn't great then either.

Our server, Linda, was excellent. She was attentive, kind, and managed multiple tables efficiently without compromising service. We truly appreciated her professionalism and effort. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience was extremely disappointing. The hostess took an unreasonable amount of time to check us in, did not acknowledge or greet us upon arrival, and failed to attend to other guests coming in. We had a 7:00 PM reservation and were not seated until 7:30 PM. The first two courses did not arrive until 8:30 PM, and by the time we finished dinner, it was 9:30 PM. The excessive delays forced us to cancel our plans afterward. Throughout this time, the hostess appeared disengaged and inattentive. Additionally, I ordered the dry-aged steak as my main entrée and requested it cooked medium. It arrived significantly undercooked. The texture was tough, chewy, and overly fatty. Considering the dry-aged steak carried an additional charge on the menu, the quality and preparation did not justify the premium price. Overall, while Linda provided excellent service, the lack of organization at the front and the disappointing food execution significantly impacted our experience.

I’m sharing this feedback in hopes it reaches management, as the experience felt fixable but ultimately unresolved. Dinner at Deteria tonight started strong. The first three courses were well executed, and the service throughout the evening was attentive and professional. Unfortunately, the main course fell well short. I ordered the steak medium, and it arrived clearly undercooked. Beyond temperature, the cut itself was tough and excessively fatty, which made it difficult to enjoy. I’ve had steaks in many places around the world, and this was among the more disappointing ones. I did raise the concern during the meal. However, I was told the chef stood by the dish and that the preparation was correct. That response was surprising and discouraging, especially given the otherwise high standard set earlier in the meal. I’m not someone who expects perfection, but I do expect acknowledgment when something misses the mark. With how strong the rest of the experience was, it felt like a missed opportunity to turn a negative into a positive. Sharing this in the spirit of constructive feedback, as the restaurant clearly has strengths — but how moments like this are handled matters just as much as the food itself. Brought my In-laws from abroad for dinner this past Saturday and our waitress made racist comments not knowing I am a minority so it made dinner extremely disappointing. Even if I wasn't a minority this was NOT appropriate. I will NEVER go back and support this unacceptable behavior. Ambler is such a wonderful area with diverse restaurants, and I would NOT recommend this establishment and there are better choices to enjoy in downtown Ambler.
