I never experienced a coffee shop, but I'm happy I chose this coffee shop. The most important thing is the atmosphere (along with the products, of course), and in here, you can enjoy the chillest atmosphere ever. You can consume what you buy in total safety, and the staff is nice and cool.

Lovely coffeeshop, went here when other ones seemed intimidating on our first time. The staff were so lovely, and they helped us understand how everything works! The lady even excitedly told us which strain was her favourite which was a great recommendation as it was both nice and even the smoke tasted good <3 Will definitely return sometime, thank you!

The atmosphere in here is definitely something else compared to most shops. Awesome vibe, I was here by myself and was helped by an extremely friendly lady! Had zero anxiety as well. 10/10 for me! Also if edibles are your thing, this is the place to be.

I visit Popeyes every time I come to Amsterdam. There weed is some of the finest. If you ask for a gram you get a gram unlike some other places which start giving you .25-.5 over and charging you more then the list price. Just good business see a price and pay that price. Their cappuccinos are incredible. Staff are always very nice and good seating areas.

It had VEGAN space cake! First ever place to see that at, plus, it was very tasty! The atmosphere was nice and quiet too :)

Gluten Free Muffins available! Volcano machine in the shop, great range of products and the Lady that runs the shop is awesome! High energy, bubbly and willing to take time to help you find the right product! Will definitely be coming back!

Popeyes will go down as a legendary coffeeshop, the owner still sells the product himself. He gave us a free toke 22 years ago. Refurb looks good.

This is the only place that sells vegan muffins and they taste nice. The texture is a bit dry, but everything else is spot on. The staff is very welcoming and polite. Please, never stop producing vegan muffins! 🥹

Definitely my favorite place to go for a chilled smoke, one of the few places where they DO NOT push you to buy more and more. The staff are so friendly; they will gladly let you borrow a grinder and give advice, and they're always happy to chat with you. This deserves 10 stars!

Lovely staff and atmosphere, also tried their hash had a great time Update: returned here a year later and chilled in the shop every day. Solid playlist too. A favorite of mine! Visited 17 years ago and was wicked, went back the other day and was glad it hadn't changed in that sense. I arrived before they had even properly opened as I was fresh from the airport on arrival. They let me in for a coffee as I couldn't go to my accommodation. Super friendly staff and got chatting to some locals too. Banging hash menu too. I'll visit again for sure .

I have had muffins and other edibles from here often. The space muffins are really strong and it is advised to wait 60/90 minutes for the high to kick in, which normally lasts around 3-4 hours. The shop assistants provide useful info on which edibles to take for a certain high. You can also buy pre rolled joints to smoke and tea and coffee etc.

The first time I went, I go the Dutch waffle cookie flavored and it was super dry. Decided to give it another shot and got a brownie, which was very nice, effective and a good size. The budtender was really friendly and helped me choose what I needed.

Called in here as I was told the cookies were amazing. They had chocolate and vanilla available and both were very nice. I also tried the blueberry muffin which was really fresh.

This place sells some very strong products, the quality was great! I have given a 4 star rating as it is a very busy coffee shop and I found it quite hard to chill here. Saying that, it is a must visit coffeeshop :)

Really nice smoke... Decent selection....decent for a chill but not much seating only downside. Tip for any tourists that want a descent photo op, as you come our of the store, the street on the left is great for taking a snap... I was sitting in the store and kept seeing people stop and look down this street and take photos.... If I wasn't so baked I would of went and looked sooner as I thought something was going on... As you can see from the photo, I can see why they were all stopping.... Sums up the feel of Amsterdam for me.

Last day of my Amsterdam trip and I found popeye's the most chilled and relaxed coffee shop, the staff were really welcoming and helpful and the hot chocolate was amazing would definitely come back here again if I come back to Amsterdam

I had the Stroopwafel Vegan muffin! Most reviews here say it's dry, but I've had it twice, and have experienced it as a moist muffin, not dry at all! It takes a while to kick in. In 1:30 hours you start to feel it, at hour 2 it really kicks in. The effects lasted until I fell asleep, so 6+ hours. Good high, good taste, friendly staff, nice accommodations. I recommend!!

Cute little stop on the Amsterdam coffeeshop circuit. It’s not the flashiest spot, and yeah, the weed prices and prerolls could be better, but honestly? On a packed day when every other place was shoulder to shoulder, we actually found a seat here, which was a huge win 🥇 The vibe is super relaxed with cool lighting and trippy wall art that definitely adds to the atmosphere. The music wasn’t blasting, which made it easy to chill, talk, or just zone out. They’ve got a nice fridge stocked with drinks and snacks. Pro tip: the strawberry juice 🥤🍓 is surprisingly solid sweet, refreshing, and hit different after a twister joint. If you're looking for a laid back coffeeshop without the chaos, Popeye’s is a safe bet. It may not be your go to for top shelf bud deals, but it’s got a chill seat, good drinks, and a vibe that makes you want to stay a while

Good location, the coffeeshop has enough seats inside that are relatively comfy (the chairs could have bolstering and better arm rests). Decent selection, the only shame there is no decaffeinated coffee on the menu and that you do not get glass when you buy bottled water. The customer service is ok.

Felt a bit uncomfy when one of the waitress started flirting with me. besides that nice place to hang out after a long day, even though the drinks are a little bit too overpriced i was supposed to buy a strain to be able to smoke inside the shop.

The female bartender (Shift in 19.11.) was not interested in us. Instead of answering my questions fully she just answered one worded and was staring into the TV or talking to her workmate the whole time. Hash is okay but I did not feel welcomed by that person.

Me and my friends went to this coffee shop on our second night. Was greeted by a lovely gentleman who served us. His personality was great and made our day. We then came back to the shop the next day. Unfortunately our experience was very different. My friend needed to use the toilet and was looking around for staff members. He couldn’t see any and thought it would be ok to pop to the toilet and come back. Have done this in other coffee shops and they have not minded. We all came again to buy more products and sit down if there were seats. A staff member then proceeded to shout at my friend calling him back. She shouted “ oi mate “ my friend then come back up and was very apologetic explaining he really needed the toilet. After saying sorry numerous times, the staff member didn’t want to hear it and kept on at him. We understand this can be considered rude and really meant no harm. All the other customers were looking at her shouting at our friend. We then waited in line to be served and when it was our turn. The staff member was very sarcastic and passive aggressive. She then proceeded to ask another friend if she was recording. She was not and was only on her phone. The staff member didn’t even say sorry for accusing her of recording. We bought our products and left. It really made us disappointed as we had such a lovely time the day before. We know us “ tourists “ can make mistakes. But there was absolutely no need for that staff member to shout the way she did.

I went there with my girlfriend and with my parents. As a new place for us, we decided to make some questions to the cashier about the products and how it works. He was so rude and unprofessional, trying to pressure us to choose something because according to him “this usually does not take this long”. It might be a good place to go if you go with your friends, but definitely not a place for someone new

Mixed response to this place. I didn’t come to Amsterdam for the coffee shops. I did that as a teenager. So I set out to find vegan edibles options as a one off. Popeyes was reviewed to have this available and it didn’t disappoint! That said, the staff behind the counter were reserved and seemed unfriendly, possibly being overly sensitive to it. Then a customer was stumbling towards some stairs into a lower portion of the Coffeeshop and fainted, falling headfirst into a metal railing and rolled down 3 steep stair steps. His friends rushed to help them, a senior staff member called to get something to help the customer. But the younger staff member just laughed to themselves. I can understand tourists not handling their weed to be humorous, but I do not see a customer possibly sustaining serious injury to be of any laughing matter!

The vegan edible, that I tried was very cheaply made and definitely not selfmade nor very tasty, The staff charged me 50 cent extra because my purchase was under 10€ and I paid with card, but has told me about this extra fee right after I had already paid. Also they didn't allow me to sit inside because I just bought something to eat and not also to drink. Round and about a bad experience.

Bought an edible that didn't work (Space Muffin Red Velvet). I didn't feel a thing and, my boyfriend said he felt a little moment of high but it passed after some minutes. I expected more from a 8€ muffin that contained 0.5g of weed ://. Also the lady behind the counter was overly nice with came off as fake and weirded me out

The edibles has really low quality . Me and my husband bought two muffins. He a lemon one, and I blueberry. After 2 hours his high really kicked in, and I did not feel a thing. He was basically gone for three hours while I waited a total of five hours to feel something. We went back the next day, I told them about my experience, and they told me I lied. They also said we should try the cookies because they were stronger. We bought two, and these did not work for any of us. So 75% of the edibles that we bought did not work. We will never go back.

Last guy who would take his time to leave comment, but i feel bad for the owners. Your workers couldnt be unfriendlier. They just wanna get their salary and thats it. I dont need extra Service or anything. Just basic human decency would be nice. The sandwiches are just shit. Like literally just shit. And we paid 7.5 each. As a Student i used to make sandwiches like that cause i didnt have money.

We were playing cards and then the lady comes to us and said we should finish the game but can't continue playing afterwards because it's forbidden. We bought weed, bought drinks and then something like that? Insolence. Never experienced such a thing in any shop. We would have liked to buy a few more grams, but that way you only scare away customers willing to buy

We brought the gluten free blueberry muffins as my friend is coeliac. The muffin itself was really tasty and relatively moist, however it was advertised as being made with a sativa strain. All this muffin did was make me knackered so I couldn’t even stay awake and had to go home to bed…. which is the opposite to being told it will invigorates and gives us a buzz. Our family also brought the muffin with gluten and the same thing happened to them. Would not recommend…

Went there because they had vegan edibles but it was soo not worth it. The muffin was dry and didn’t taste like much and it didn’t hit at all! Also if you go there they want every single person of the group to order something to drink plus they were really rude. We are tourists from Switzerland and since we‘ve already been in coffeeshops in Zurich where you can smoke weed and cigarettes inside we thought it would be allowed to smoke cigs as well. We obviously didn’t know that it was illegal to do that because cigarettes are legal in pretty much every country but weed isn’t and instead of just telling us that we’re not allowed to do that they straight up screamed at us aggressively which even made my sister cry, they didn’t even give us a second to turn it off and go outside. So if you want to be around nice people and have good edibles don’t go there!! Absolutely not worth it, there are way better coffeeshops in Amsterdam with much nicer people. The ambience wasn’t nice either, like there really are so much better coffeeshops around fr. How about putting a sign which shows that it’s not allowed btw? Could help since it’s not obvious to everyone. Or just say it in a normal tone, doesn’t cost you anything to be nice, especially to costumers.
