I'm a little partial to this place cause I've been coming here for over 20 years ever since my son's dad and I were dating in the early 2k. It's the first place I recommend if someone is looking to make it a stress-free special night with someone. Servers are attentive and read the room. The staff works well together and you can tell they like each other. This speaks volumes when you're at a nice restaurant wanting to eat peacefully. The rooms can get a little loud, especially if you have a group that thinks they're at Applebee's instead of a fine-dine establishment. Some ppl are unaware of themselves. I did notice that staff was eager to get them service much quicker than other groups. I think it was their nice way of getting them out. I've tried over the years the artichokes, meatballs, bass, steak, and pasta. They're all solid as heck. I've never heard a gripe. Even the chicken is beyond juicy though it's grilled. I've also sat at the bar solo while I waited to get picked up and I gotta say I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Bartenders were attentive and conversational. I actually had the best dirty martini here. (Beefeater) For wines, I always recommend the bottle list instead of glass. The options are better... although since they don't charge corkage fee, just bring your own. They also have fun cocktails to choose from too. I really hope this place stays open for a long time! Perfection! Chef's kiss!
Full honesty? We did NOT spend as much as I feared we would! Beyond that, everything was amazing. Calamari, beet and goat cheese salad, seared ahi and baked potato, and a whole lot of complimentary celebratory things for my partner and I for our anniversary! Tony and Jiw (names on our receipt) made our night so very special. Cannot recommend it enough.

First time here and we really enjoyed it. Our server Robert was great and helped guide us to the steaks we got. The wagu was fantastic and I also enjoyed the dry aged ribeye. We will definitely be back to try the other meats and dishes and hope we get robert as our server again.
Valet and street parking. Very good food and service. Old school stakehouse that offers real wagu. They also have very good seafood. They can accomodate gluten sensitivity but not as gluten free bread for example. Popular place so depending on the time and where you sit, it can be noisy. Indoor and outdoor seatings.
An excellent experience. Our waiter Fitz was amazing. Very attentive and made the whole evening enjoyable. Food was prepared to order, and came out promptly. One slight negative critique was the French press coffee was too weak.
Always a great time. We celebrated a birthday. I lost my wallet ....they saved for me for the next day. All my things were there and they wouldn't accept a tip. I love the service and staff.

My husband and I walked into this restaurant after exploring. Got a table quick with no reservation. The atmosphere was great everyone was friendly. Our server Jorge was phenomenal and really made our anniversary special! He directed us immediately to the best food options and wine. The Japanese wagyu ny strip was amazing. Best steak of my life.
Amazing experience at 555. I ordered the 8oz Snake River Wagyu filet and while the first came out slightly overdone on one side, the staff handled it perfectly. The chef personally remade it and the second steak was cooked perfectly. They even brought out complimentary asparagus. Dessert (butter cake) was excellent, and when the bill came, they comp’d both steaks. Truly outstanding service. I’ve been here at least five times and this just reinforced why I keep coming back.
Great food, great ambience, not for the faint of heart if you are on a tight budget. I ordered a 30 day aged steak… mouth watering and tender. Served with garlic mash potatoes. One of the best meals I had in years. The customer service was excellent! Friendly, fun, and our server made amazing food recommendations. Definitely the place to be at during special events.
The service levels and food quality are always consistent. Servers are extremely friendly, professional, and help create memorable experiences. For Long Beach, this is a hidden gem. Reservations recommended because you never know when there is a convention in town and thus can have high wait times. One of the best steaks in town…even more so than their competitor across the street (a Chain Steakhouse)
My husband and I had a fantastic dining experience for our anniversary!! Ray was amazing as our server - he had great recommendations and kept us laughing the whole evening. And the food was so fresh and delicious! Thank you for helping to make our celebration so special!
Steak was very well prepared. The potato was on point. I would maybe like a little more sour cream as the potato was huge. Dessert was very good. The atmosphere is very nice with the wood decour.
Phenomenal service and great food! We came to Long Beach for our anniversary. Our flight was delayed, so we missed our original reservation at a different place. We found 555 East was open later than other places, so we went for a light dinner - and that experience set the tone for our visit to Long Beach, California: AMAZING!! Paul was our server - he was friendly, personable, attentive, fun, caring, and happy to offer recommendations. When he found out it was our anniversary, he shared kind words and brought us a card signed by the staff - we were blown away, and we felt welcomed and cared for. Thank you, Paul!! The food was delicious! We got the Baked Goat Cheese, the Crab Bisque, the Roasted Beets Salad, and the Mixed Organic Field Greens Salad. I also got the cocktail, One if by Land, which was really good! The ambiance is nice, and the patio was great! I highly recommend - it was a great experience and great way to start our trip, thanks to Paul! We’ll definitely go back next time we visit Long Beach!!

For the price, I'd give it a 4 1/2 star just because somehow folks wouldn't try this place if I gave it a 4. Food was tasty, service was almost perfect, and overall my experience was good. Knock off half a star for minor mistakes, but happened 3x, not a big deal but yeah, details matter for promising upscale dining. My cocktail was awesome, who knew dill and gin works (Essex Street). Valet parking was $10, attentive and friendly. The host hiding inside, was kinda weird but great traditional red chairs to lounge in while waiting to be seated. The table was tiny for two but worked. By around 6pm, I could hear a live piano playing. Wine by the glass options are a bit disappointing but by the bottle selections were much better.. Overall, worth trying at least once, maybe returning, if in the area, but I wouldn't go outta my way.. If dining alone, the bar looked great, friendly, and looked like a safe place for business travelers to mingle.

The veggies and fries pulled off the rare feat of making me feel both virtuous and indulgent in the same bite. The whole place buzzed with the kind of energy that makes you feel part of something special, yet never so loud you need to resort to lip-reading. And the staff? Like your coolest friend who somehow knows everyone, pours a mean drink, and makes you feel like you’ve been coming here for years. In short: great food, great drinks, great people—and the kind of night that has you plotting your return before you’ve even paid the tab.
We both got the 16oz rib eye. I got it medium rare and my fiancé got it for medium. I thought the outside was slightly to charred to my taste but the flavors were so good!! Tasted so good with the mash potato. He got a baked potato instead and that was also very good with all the filing. We got a side of asparagus gremolata, definitely needed this to balance all that meat! Our waitress was nice, after finding out we are here to celebrate my birthday - she gifed me a birthday card where some staff signed their name and a creme brûlée!!! Service was fast and amazing. Love the interior design. I’d definitely come back.
We recently celebrated our anniversary here and it was such a lovely experience! When we arrived, our table was beautifully decorated with flower petals and a card that said Happy Anniversary a small detail that made us feel so special right from the start. The food was delicious we tried the linguine with clams, a trio of steaks with different sauces, and everything was cooked perfectly. What really made the evening memorable was the sweet surprise at the end: they brought us a complimentary crème brûlée with candles to celebrate our anniversary. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel truly appreciated. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, always smiling and checking in to make sure we were enjoying our evening. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion. Great food, warm atmosphere, and truly memorable service!
I was tasked to coordinate a 30-person dinner event for my company. I have never had to coordinate such an event, but had the pleasure to work with Megan Gifford of 555 East Steakhouse. Megan provided excellent service, maintained constant contact, and provided many different options for food and beverage. BIG thanks to Megan! The dinner event itself was a huge success! The steaks, seafood and chicken all received high marks. The best part of the evening were unsolicited comments from my customers saying this was the best event they have been to in a long time. All the food received high compliments!
Dry aged steaks are their claim to fame. Heard the octopus appetizer was good did not have. Had the goat cheese bruschetta appetizer was super good. All the steaks were cooked perfectly and very good. I got a 30-day aged ribeye that was really good, two or three other folks got 45 day aged, one gentleman got a 60 day aged and he really enjoyed it. Everyone must happy with the cocktails. Lobster mac and cheese was a hit. Would definitely go again.
Absolutely wonderful. The waiter, I think his name was Oscar - previously worked at Disney used his storytelling skill to share about the restaurant, his meal and wine pairing suggestions. My boyfriend and I wanted to try everything on the menu because of that. This was also the best steak I've had in the USA. Great attentive service too. I loved the live pianist - such a vibe.
We passed by this place a little after 8 p.m. on a Saturday night and decided to give it a try. Luckily, we found two corner seats at the bar. The atmosphere inside was super relaxed and welcoming. As soon as we sat down, another guest nearby casually started a conversation, and the bartender was incredibly friendly. We ordered cocktails(Ocean Boulevard), lamb chops, BBQ Jumbo Shrimp, and clam chowder. The lamb chops were definitely our favorite — perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The cocktails were refreshingly well-balanced. It was the perfect way to wrap up our Saturday night.
I gave up beef for a year and decided to return to steak on my Jan. 2 birthday. So I asked around for recommendations and four people highly recommended 555. So I booked a table for 12 and they did not disappoint! The service was impeccable. The waitress was sweet, patient and intuitive to our questions and preferences. The steaks were incredible and cooked and seasoned perfectly. While we ate everyone commented on how tasty the beef was and how the sides of mac and cheese, garlic potatoes and sautéed spinach were steaming with flavor. But the feast of resistance was the octopus appetizer that was excellently prepared and convinced me octopus can be delicious when prepared right! I would 100 percent recommend this restaurant because the staff is dedicated to providing high quality food (especially the steaks) and service.
