It's a hidden gem in Angleton. Good food and good service. The fajita come with really great rice, bean, salsa, and guacamole. The shrimp cocktail is awesome. It's BYOB.
They have really a good customer service and the food is good. The price wasn’t that bad. Stop by and eat there.
I had came with some friends and they did not disappoint! Everything from the service to the food was just unmatched. One of the waiters recommended a quesadilla and I still think about it till this day. This restaurant is a MUST stop in angleton!
Yummy breakfast, hubby and I had machacados and huevos ala mexicana. Green sauce was spicy but good. The red sauce was really spicy. Prefers the green sauce. We had corn tortillas. Next time we will try the flours. Tortillas were home made.
Queso Flameado was amazing and so was the horchata. The beef fajita was good as well. I recommend eating here. Super good.
Good Food. Good Service. Good Value. *** Breakfast pancakes are next level ! ***
Good food, good service, clean spot to eat. Tortillas, eggs, and green salsa high spots of meal. We will come back.

Great breakfast. Not a long wait on the weekend. Great service.
The owner work with my daughter to host my 60th birthday party here. The staff was awesome. The food was awesome! The owner was so kind and hospitable. It was a great night! Thank you so very much for an awesome 60th birthday party at your restaurant! I highly recommend the beef fajitas & the veggies were incredible, I just wish they took the shell off the shrimp. Amazing food & time had by all!
AMAZING FOOD !! Very Authentic and flavorful, the portions are healthy & the drinks are more than enough! The service was outstanding and they make you feel like family! The Restaurant was meticulously clean and the restrooms were top notch! Would definately recommend dining here and would gladly come back!!
Best breakfast tacos in the area. They don't overstuff their tacos, the tortillas are fresh don't get soggy, the green salsita is DELICIOUS, and the prices are great.
Wow! Amazing food served fresh by the best staff in the area. Nothing from a package, all made fresh daily. And the best green sauce anywhere. Oh, and it's the best Mexican restaurant in town. Oh, almost forgot - it's also by far the least expensive! Much less $$$ than the fancy place across town, or the new place in the building that used to be the fancy place across town.
Great breakfast. Not a long wait on the weekend. Great service.
If you order correctly it's delicious 😋

Passed this place up so many times and finally stopped in. The restaurant is very clean with an inviting interior, add the amazing customer service and there is not much els that is needed. Except great food, which they have in abundance. All their items are made from scratch daily. The chips are your normal fair with a fresh salsa that is pretty good. A bit more cilantro and a squeeze of lime would make it perfect. Entrees : #17 Taquitos Plate - 8/10 5 delicious small taquitos with your choice of pastor, beef, or tripa served with avocado, seasoned grilled onions, fresh onions, cilantro, and charro beans. I went with the pastor and it was great, a little sweetness with all of the expected flavors of a good pastor. The charro beans had a very nice taste as well, a bit different than most but really good. #3 Picadillo Con Papas. - 8/10 Ground beef and diced potatoes seasoned with Mexican spices, served with rice and beans. Very well put together, the meat had a very good flavor, can't place my finger on it but a good flavor non the less. The rice and beans were both really good as well. Served with corn or flour tortillas. #25 Burrito Don Jose. - 8/10 Beef or chicken fajita, cheese, and guacamole wrapped in a flour tortillas, topped with red sauce and queso. I had the chicken fajita in this one, the chicken was super moist and tender. The guacamole adds a nice touch to the burrito. I had a couple items included not on the menus description, sour cream and lettuce. It just added a broader range of flavors that accented the rest. The red sauce has a unique flavor that I haven't had anywhere else, paired with the queso makes this burrito a must have. One thing is for sure , they take pride in making fresh food that is their own. Great flavors, atmosphere, and phenomenal customer service makes Don Jose's a must try.

This was a second visit to Don Jose restaurant. The salsa and chips were pretty good; it's served warm with a good heat "bite" to it. Entrees seem to be scratch made, always a plus. My wife had a Poblano Enchilada plate that she liked. I had the Diablo Burrito, but it didn't have the "heat" I was expecting and wanting 😐. We have eaten here twice now, covering four different plates. While the food is decent, it is not really spicy or highly seasoned; I made ample use of the salt, pepper, and salsa 😁. Service was professional and the dining area was clean 👍and not overly cramped. If you have not tried Don Jose restaurant or just haven't been in a while, give them a try. You may find it a place you can add to your list of of preferred restaurants.

Disappointed but not entirely bad. My first disappointed was that they did not carry horchata. Bummer. Then the jamaica I ordered was bland. Then, the menu only had breakfast burritos not tacos. Oh...K I went ahead and ordered chilaquiles verdes (9.99). They used that creamy wanna be avocado creamy sauce instead of green salsa. It looked and tasted like fettuccine poblano Alfredo instead of chilaquiles. Which I do like fettuccine with poblano sauce but not for breakfast. Pros: their menudo is one of the best around here. They make homemade corn and flour tortillas. Please note that they taste good right there and then. If you take them home they are hard. Now their refried beans are pretty good. They do taste like they are being served in grandma's house in Mexico. I'm also happy they use queso fresco instead of monterrey cheese. I was going to try them for lunch. But 3 beef tacos for 13.99 made me change my mind. Especially if they don't have tomatillo salsa. 1 chilaquiles 1 lrg menudo 1 coffee 1 lrg Jamaica 1 kids lemonade ‐----------------------------- $35. and change before tip

Tried this restaurant after reading all the good reviews. Wish I could have given the same, but unfortunately, no. The chips and salsa were great and the waitress was ok, but I ordered the beef enchilada plate and it had no flavor whatsoever. I mean, none. I didn’t even eat it. The waitress asked me if the reason I didn’t eat it was because I didn’t like it and I told her the truth. Then, the check comes. The prices on the check were way higher than they were on the menu. The menu had already been changed. It was whited out and new prices out in, but the prices they charged were still a lot higher. So beware if you go.
My husband’s beef fajita meat was green & so he sent it back & know for a fact it was the same 2” piece of meat when she brought it back on the same napkin. I would like to ask them to use the salad spinner so there’s not so much water in the chicken taco salad. Also, I suggest more chicken & less lettuce. The portions were a lot smaller than when we were here a couple of months ago. Another thing that was upsetting to my husband was that his plate didn’t come with beans & when he asked the waitress, she said no, but you can order them separately. Another person with us said her beans tasted old, maybe on the verge of being sour. We will not be back.

I was very disappointed with the quality and portion of my beef fajita with 2 shrimp meal. The beef lacked flavor, and the portion size was extremely small for the price. The rice and beans were also bland and unappealing. I couldn’t help but notice the inconsistency in portion sizes, and I genuinely wanted to stay and see if other customers were served similar portions. I’ve attached pictures for reference, as it seems some local businesses struggle to take accountability for poor service and product quality.

Came to eat breakfast and took forever to take our order. Service was horrible, Never came to see if we wanted refills for our water or coffee. Food came but no tortillas until we had to go up there ask them for the 3rd time. The excuse was they make them fresh but if that’s the case maybe bring the food out when the tortillas are ready… Our food was salty, I didn’t know my eggs would have salt already, usually I have to add to my preference. They need to do better…
The only reason why you even got a star is because the food was hot. I am very disappointed those potatoes that y’all put in our tacos were freezer burned. They weren’t even fresh potatoes. My husband said no rice on his hippo and y’all filled it up with rice anyway. We will never return. One hippo, one small taco and one small thing of rice is not even worth $21.
